thanks htctouch, but i didnt delete it and still get actvsyn on from time to time. i untick the time syncronization (on the phone setting) it reduce but not completely make actscyn dissapear. very strange. i remember with other ROMs, the fake servers is working...

Actually to do that I'll have to build a new ROM with the new mui files. Never worked on languages other than WWE so dont know what the results would be. But in any case, I'm not cooking Elf ROMs anymore, so cant help much brother. Sorry :)

Oh I see :D I've never tried changing the mui after the ROM has been cooked, so not much help from me there. I dont remember off hand, but there's a thread here in the Elf forum which has the localization files. Maybe you might need to cook a ROM with those muis I think

Ababrekar, i've got another question for you.

As i told you, i'd like to translate your GREAT ROM for french people... so i dowloaded a kitchen and started to dump your ROM...

And guess what? pkgtool was confused :D as it can't find any dsm files... so most of the files end into the "missing" folder.

I've read a lot on this forum to understand why/how cookers would/could remove dsm files.... and it's seems it is mainly to protect their work against leecher... which i *may* understand... anyway that's not the problem.

So here is the question :p, would you give me the permission to translate and write a tutorial on how elf user can translate their prefered ROM?

If so, could you post somewhere your ROM with all dsm files?

Hi Demo. You couldnt dump my ROM coz it is so called protected by removing all the dsm and rgu files

First off, I didnt remove those files coz I wanted to protect my ROM (its not much of protection anyways) but I removed those files to save space in Win folder. Remember, mine is a UCE ROM, its not King Solomon's Mine to keep it protected :rolleyes:

Secondly, you dont need my permission to play around with my ROM, but you need the dsm and rgu files. Those files you can get them from the shipped ROM of ElfIns. Check the CID thread where you can find the Blue Shipped ROM for 1050. I cant post the files since I lost my Elf ROM data from the computer and thats the main reason why I stopped development for Elves

And finally to translate the ROM you will need the localisation mui files which you can grab from a thread here in the Elf forum. I dont remember the link off hand but searching for it in small 7 pages wont be any issues for you :p

Hope to see the UCE in localisedd languages then :D Hope you will add a credit in case if you release the ROM to public :)

Here am i stucked once again with a new problem. :mad:

So far i've :

- Dumped your rom

- Dumped RUU_Elfin_DOPOD_AU_2.20.710.2B_4.1.13.51_03.07.90_ BLUE_Ship
(Device: ELF0100*0, CID: DOPOD001, Version: 2.20.710.2B, Language: USA)

- Copied all *.dsm, *.rgu, and packages.sof files from the shipped rom to yours. (your packages.sof is empty)

- Run Package tools, but it conplains with a lot of missing files in the SYS and OEM Folders. I've also a lot of file in the Missing folder.

I've read in the Hermes Cookbook, that i may create a new Folder called "Missing Packages" add all those missing files in this newly created folder, add a dsm file and then copy the Missing Packages folder in the OEM folder.

Do you think it's the right thing to do in order to rebuild your rom?
Did i do something wrong so far?

:D It wouldnt be so difficult if you dont use the cooked ROMs as base for your cooking :rolleyes:

ANother workaround I can suggest (not that I support the idea of using someone's ROM as a base, but since UCE is stopped, might as well put it to some good use ;))
Use the HTCRIE tool to dump my UCE. Then dump a shipped ROM and before it creates packages, compare the dump directories of both ROMs and delete whats not needed ;)

Because when you install cabs there's an extra backup file placed to restore the installation, that takes up that extra space.

Check the "\Windows\AppMgr\" folder to see what i mean.

I'm aware of that, alright. The Office cab is >6MB in size, so I expected that. What I was wondering is how the cook of the Bordeaux ROM got Office into his ROM and make it use only about 2MB more _on the device_ than UC does. Well anyway, as long as I don't know how to get localised SIPs into it, I can't use any WWE ROM anyway, because I want and need my precious special keys. :p

A totaly newbea question.

I liked the rom, gives you lot of options for cutomizations , good performance but I couldn't change the incoming ring sound and the alarm sound. I have copied some files from another rom to /windows dir. But I can not select them .
Am I missing something ?

I setup active sync to pull mail every 2 hours during off peak hours and 15 mins on peak hours but it seldomly starts sync process. Then I manually sync the phone has anyone else this problem ?

it unbootable I tried everytings hard reset soft reset nothing changes: = (just the green light that stays on ..:eek:

Does your phone boot into bootloader? If yes, then you are in luck. Did you try the Elf unbricker (Gold Card) trick?

I like this one cause it the fastes I seen and I'm loving it since I never used thousand of programs others install by default.
Only thing missing is option to use this phone as usb-pen drive.
