Q. What does it have?
A. Nothing extra apart from very few required ROM ingredients. Changelog is explained in post #3

Q. Why are the above removed and nothing new added from/in stock ROM?
A. Because there are a lot of options available in the forums which are customised replacements for the above programs. By removing the stock program, I have eliminated the chances of duplicate files getting created in Windows folder and slowing down the device. Moreover, the user of my ROM will have the ultimate choice of customisation to every corner of the ROM

Q. What is so special about this ROM apart from the above customizable option?
A. Since the above programs and packages are removed from this ROM, the actual size of this ROM is smaller than almost 42MB and then it is Hex Edited as per NikMel's amazing discovery to make it 50MB. By this the number of files in Windows directory is reduced which makes the ROM fast

Q. What is the Default PP of UCE concept ROMs?
A. Since the UCE concept is based on ultra lite ROMs, the default PP of these ROMs is 4 MB. For further customizing the pagepool easily, follow a procedure found in this thread HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397938) by Swiftblade. I have not posted the PP variants as even you can edit the pagepool entries directly on the .nbh file and flash to your device

Q. What is the UCE-C ROM?
A. Since the UCE for RUU is hex edited to be 50MB, the UCE-C is ELF0IMG.nbh which is SD card flashing variant of UCE, to be flashed from a formatted SD Card. This gives you the maximum available storage memory on your device. UCE-C will not be accepted to be flashed with the RUU
Procedure to flash the UCE-C is: Start the device in bootloader mode with the ELF0IMG.nbh on a formatted empty SD card (SD card has to be formatted to FAT32) Once device starts, it will detect the storage card content and give you the option to press the power button

Please note this flashing procedure is dependant on method used for formatting the SD card and I will not be able to help in that direction. As an example, I use this method to flash ROMs on my device using 512MB SD card, formatted in Resco Explorer

Realise still have the annoying "clicking sound" sound even after unticking the "screen tap" under sound.
Is it possible to remove SPB, Ultimate Launch, & HiCalc? (All the trial stuff)
the trial stuff is removed out of the new ultra clean rom :)

4. How do I reinstall the Cube if I decide I want it? I tried but get a quickdial error

Pleased to say 'yes' the pagepool changer that you posted worked. Dumped rom and it read 00 00 40 00. After all my apps and customisations, I'm at around 18-20mb free program mem. Also, as you pointed out, very easy to use. Open the changer, select the rom, select the PP size, change.
The camera is also very quick I've noticed.

we have discussed in a few on this pagepool changer.. if u can confirm a significant change in avalaible mem after n before changing the pagepool, i'll re up the link in this thread..

One other thing for those flashing, it might be a good idea to run a registry cleaner after flashing, like ones in sktools. It does find quite a few invalid pointers and references. This is normal but whether it helps with speed or not, I'd like to think it does :o
hey this is actually a very good idea.. can u tell which software can do that neatly. once i find those invalid values i'll delete them from my rom while cooking itself. maybe that will give in a bit more power, what say?

Once again, just checking the content of the ROM doesn't mean squat.
You only know that a pagepool change works when you look at you device's memory (settings / system / memory)
8 MB pagepool : total program reads 47.5 or so
6 MB pagepool: total program reads 49.5 or so
4 MB pagepool: total program reads 51.5 or so

As far as I know (and I've asked in pretty much all the threads around here without any concrete answers) there are no tools or ways to change the pagepool for Elfs with those new ROMs. Sad but true.

yes if ur device is Elf, and u have not unlocked the CID of ur device before, then u have to run the USPL given by pof(the one u have mentioned) first before u use these ROMs

i never worked on xml documents but just edited the ones found in oem_lang which refers to the theme during startup

you cant coz that is coded in the config.txt file in my rom. in roms from other cookers, you will have to check with them

I think I have found my ROM of choice: DXS 3.11. Amazingly fast, stable, good battery performance, little memory leak and just enough bare essentials (Diamond Task manager works great on this version!).

This is the first ROM I have seen with the larger text for the menu items and settings text. Very nice! There is also a new option in Settings/Clock & Alarm/ More/ "Sound alarms even when the device is set to silent or vibrate". Not useful for me as I use SPB Time, but could be nice for some people.

If you were thinking of doing a ROM with some apps loaded, I am using: HTC Home plug (6 tab patched with tabs selectable in settings), Diamond Qwerty keyboard, SIP Change, Google Maps, S2U2, iContact V6, PdG Minimal Dialer, Audio Manager, Opera 9, HTC End key, ThumbCal, Ariel Battery meter and Softkey changer. I also added A2DP BT, device lock (so I can use any key to wake up device from S2U2), device information and SPB calc (with my own skin).

hmm.. u need to put the uspl from pof before flashing if ur device is not yet CID unlocked.. and then run the ruu with my nbh file in the folder. thts simple ;)

check 2 things

1. activesync\connections and ensure the usb is ticked on
2. settings\system\usb to pc.. check if the advanced tick is on or off (try with both)

What I feel is bout this ROM, it has to many players. I believe Core Player can play almost every file needed. So there are no need for *additional player.

guys.. one more rom added to first post (AB.UC.DXS.4.01) this is based on the newest build from xperia (19949) with benchmark results.. till date the fastest and most stable builds i have ever got on my device :) its pretty cool..

well, i didnt do anything, no special tweaks. just used the Diamond ROM, ported the XIP n SYS. thats all :)
ur ROM is also doing a lot better than mine in 2-3 tests like File explorer, directory listing etc. are u using the windows file explorer or Resco's?

guys i managed to change the pagepool of my elfin rom to 4 mb and its awesome, trust me :D now the total available memory is 115mb.. :D updated the first post with this info (will re cook the pagepool variants now and upload soon :)) look at the bottom of first post ;)

Do not know that there's a problem with V2 and vibration - did not test it.
With V4.01 it does work. So try the new version. Otherwise you could've a problem with your hardware.

It's defently not a hardware problem - other ROMs work correct.
Anyway, I will try another version and report if problem still exist.

Update: I finally changed the pagepool of my ROM to 4 MB, now the avalaible memory on my device is 115 MB. I followed a procedure based on the method found in this thread HERE by Dutty. It works for the ElfIn but I have not confirmed whether it works for the Elf as I don't have one to test. Special credit to SwiftBlade for patience in showing me the guiding light

When will you be releasing a new rom with the new 4mb pagepool? :eek:

there is none like a diamond...its just the operating system and kernel that is taken from diamond, everything else remains the same. so u wont get diamond's look alike.

There was an error when starting UC.. second run.

It said custtsk.exe was missing from Windows folder.
Funny how the start icon only appears after you press it once.

And it killed the rest of UC SDAutorun.

And does The HTC X Menu really need the HTCservices running ;)

And unless anyone uses STK services you can kill it to without nervous breakdowns.
CapNotify can also be deleted from startups and from rom entirely.
As far as i know that file is supposed to recognice if you have pressed the Caps button on your slide out keyboard.

Even in my wizard i removed it.

It will give you that little extr pfeumf in memory ;)

Running Nicely here, but a bit Empty.

If you used the attached package, the rom won't get bigger.

And people that don't have the SD card version of the network wizard won't be bothered by it because the service will kill itself if it doesn't find the exe on the card.

i cant comment on these ROMs coz i dont use anyone of them. one thing i forgot to mention that u've to rename that AB.UC.XXX.nbh file to RUU_Signed.nbh before u can use it with that RUU utility given by me. keep this RUU_Signed in the same folder as other 8 files.

u mean program and storage memory? elf's memory is lesser than elfins.
Elf=64 MB RAM+128 MB ROM
Elfin=128 MB RAM + 256 MB ROM

Got a SDHC card in your device? That's the problem.... take it out.... connect USB cable again in RGB screen and try flashing again.

dude. if you dont know the difference between elf and elfin, i suggest you read and read in the forums before trying anything with flashing on ur device. you may end up with an amazing rom or you may end up with a dead brick on ur charger end. htctouchp has guided you to a wiki entry where you should read and understand

none of my roms will take away 60mb of memory from your elfin (if thats what u have mentioned for the uspl u ve used)

secondly, if u have elf and used elfin uspl and u re saying tht ur device is still alive, consider it ur good luck brother. so i suggest you read in the forums and then decide to flash or do anything with the roms and spls. till then my roms are here for life, you can anytime download them and flash at later stage ;)

i am using 4mb pp coz i dont run too many progs at a time but i like to keep em fast n speedy ;) u can now change the pp, thnx to swiftblade's guide :) so it really doesnt matter now which pp family the rom belongs to

well, bro i tested this voipsms software in my personal cooked ROM and it does work (installed without any problem, ran also nicely and let me edit the settings etc) so i dont think i would be able to troubleshoot this for u..probably u should compare all the rgu's of SYS and OEM with original rgu's

I already have the original cube package based on which I deleted the files, but after swiping my finger for the cube, it still shows error that BioTouch.exe not found. thats the netcf issue that is discussed in my roms. i'm travelling rite now moreover i'm expecting my new comp by tuesday.. i'm gonna re check my rgu files with the original 19919 rgus and re cook, re flash and re post the findings.. :) hopefully it should get resolved by tuesday ;)

I had been using the UC 4.01 for several weeks, and it work really well until now. The first time I sync my Touch with my Vista, the regional setting automatically change to Hong Kong. But today, after I sync with my PC, the setting suddenly change to default (US) and the listing in Regional cannot found the locale for Hong Kong. Any idea what's wrong, and how I can change it back without hard reset my Touch ...

You can also let Media player open the skins from the SD card ;)

Just tried your V6.03 on my Elf and it hangs...
Same problem with your V5.
Only 4.02 works great. Stable, fast - really great.
In both cases V5+6 I got only the very first boot screen "Be original".
After this: black screen forever.

I was really looking forward to your new releases but - I don't know why - on my Elf it doesn't work anymore....

Only real difference between ELF and ELFIN is memory.
And i don't know for sure if Ameet changed this or not.

(but we will find out ;))

Ameet maybe it's smart to keep the welcomehead.png as welcomehead.png.

Just make it all black so it is small in file size.

I know that i use UC to copy over my own Welcomehead.png and must asume that others that might do this propably also use welcomehead.png named file scheme. You still get small rom size and make it more compliant.

I've CID unlocked my elf and I want to flash the latest 7.11 firmware on it, however I dont know how to use the nbh file, what should I do with it?!

I'm lost in all the different wiki's, changelogs, versions and programs to use. I've tried using the htc rom tool to convert the nbh file or something, but I'm definitly stuck here.

Long story short, how should I use the nbh firmware file?!

Ok, I've got a stupid problem with 9.01, I don't think I'm crazy, so don't laugh at me... :o

I can't seem to select multiple emails with this rom like I was able to in the other ones... (Select one, then drag down to select several...)

Am I crazy?!? I don't think I'm doing it wrong, it was never this hard with other roms!!

Yes, I agree, if the "04 16" is placed between "A0 03" and "A0 13". (i.e. for ELF)
It has the same meaning if placed in front of the string (before "A0 03") (i.e. for ELFIN) ??

BTW, changed it to 24 MB and reflashed... I think it worked because :

1. The pda starts and seems ok (which is a good beginning ;) ;
2. my total program memory is @ 95.91 (+24 = 120 MB)

I can't seem to select multiple emails with this rom like I was able to in the other ones... (Select one, then drag down to select several...)

I saw that too in 8.01. It looks like the pressurethreshold in (i think) hklm\system\drivers\panel\ something rather, is set to 1600. I moved it up to 12000 and now it is sensitive enough to select multiples.
Or leave that setting and run your finger down the mail icons of your inbox.

Just one anomaly so far. I can't get Dcinobar to work anymore. It will remove the softkey functionality but the lower bar remains like a stain from a full sized app. taking on the text but not functionality. I thought it was glyph size and a graphic article but the cache is sufficient. I don't mind but I love the real estate. One plus is the phone softkey instead of calendar.

Well, I couldn't find a way to create such a cab. I tried when you needed one a few days ago, I couldn't find a way that works.

Anyway, the value depends on what skin file you use, it can't be generic.

On another side, I did some research regarding the exchange problem for 7.x-9.x roms. I did a diff on working/non working, it seems that the main differences with 6.3 are:

- ipsec files/registry entries (ipsec.dll, ipsecsvc.dll, l2tp.dll, scard.dll, winscard.dll ...)
- Domain enrollment
- networkpolicycsp.dll.
- cebits.dll (maybe ?)

Could you provide us a cab with these files/registry entries for 8.x or 9x ?

~ Media Player opens and starts without any problems
~ S2V installed and run without any problems

~ Will check the exchange / activesync connectivity issue for a day or 2 since as I said, before I am facing no problems in connection

after i record a video, in mp4 (default), wmplayer can't play it, says file not located or unable to open it, also i just notice it can't play the 3gp recorded as mms video too =/
even wmplayer or quicktime in PC can't play those recorded videos

DciNoBar doesnt seem to work on the newer builds. I'm no programmer but if someone can actually look into the program and then he can make it work on these builds :(

That's odd. But I'm willing to help you test some stuff; no prob.
I've tested the connection using Vista. Haven't tested it with XP yet.

I still have the same problem on 10.02 with the Sounds & Notifications panel.

Have been setting up several applications now and all seems to be just fine. With BatteryStatus I've clocked it to 260MHz (haven't gone higher just yet) and I must say: I love the speed!

For your info: I've got the ELFin, Touch XL (256/128). Originally shipped with an NLD ROM.

Figured out the Sounds & Notifications problem: after having the Touch flashed, the default sound for incoming calls is "Ring-WindowsMobile". If you want a preview, an error tells you the file is corrupt. The file isn't in the Windows\Rings folder.
Having copied a WMA file to Windows\Rings and set this as incoming call sound, the panel closes properly.

A problem of the 11.01 found. In Setting -> system -> External GPS, it could not set the com port like Touch Essential v1.7 (it been fixed at v1.8)

Right after flashing:

Total : 74.17 MB
In Use : 2.45 MB
Free : 71.72 MB

It is good to know it wouldn't keep on and off to checking the time. And I am not sure it is the problem of this xip or the ROM. hope the GPS issue will fixed in 12.01. You may say would like to keep your ROM as clean as you can (So do me, that why I prefer to use your ROM, actually I just know about your ROM couple days ago. hehe)
I didnt understand the on and off part. As mentioned the GPSID forlder is cooked in the 12.01 so no problems to access the GPS port now
UCE is to keep the ROM as clean as possible :p But I'll post a cab file for the keyboard skin on Monday. Been using it on my device

Version 12.01 appears to be easier on the battery; how come? Is this because of a new Windows Mobile build? What should I be thinking of in terms of percentages / values?

Battery life seems improved, I suspect since the ActiveSync doesnt run all the time. May be mainly because of that. Didnt actually find any updates on the battery driver in this ROM though
I like the flashing from SD card thing. Not sure why, but its different. Didn't work on my first go but read elsewhere to make sure the card is formatted FAT32. Then all was ok.
Also found that sj-dcinobar is working to remove bottom bar
I found out about the SD flashing and gave me loads of free space to fill up junk. Although as Aman mentioned, it will greatly matter for people with Elf yet I like to get the most out of my device. I'll edit the SD flashing procedure as per the formatting mentioned by you and also just tested the sj-dcinobar. It doesnt work on my device, guess 20748 build is not supported yet

- Dialer skin: did you consider removing it, leaving only the default dialer? I personally like the default better, because you have quicker access to the last calls list, without repeats. With the skin, the dialer seems slower, the list will come up only if you hide the keypad, and the extra bitmaps eat more RAM.

- Comm manager: you placed a Wireless manager in it´s place. Did you ever consider leaving a more traditional Comm Manager? I miss the airplane mode, because it allows you to suspend wireless activity, and restore the previous status quickly. With the Wireless manager, you can only turn everything off, or turn everything on, it has no "memory" on what was on or off before deactivation.

- Device info: wasn´t it better to keep it in the ROM? It´s very small, and used by almost everyone...

Hi brother. Appreciate your suggestions :) as the name suggests UCE (Ultra Clean Edition) means having lesser no of files in Windows dir which greatly reduces the load on the system run. This also implies removing all the softwares / files from the ROM which either are available as optional (cabs) or can be run by directly loading them on SD card or your device from anywhere. Currently after first flash (w/o UC) there are approx 1150 files in Win dir and I am working on further reducing that no

Flashed the UCE-C 12.01 on my ELF. It works great. I can feel it is faster and smoother compares to UCE-C 11.01 :D Hope the battery management is better too.:)

The Storage Memory same as UCE 11.01, it is 74.17 MB for my ELF.

This is from my experience and readings. It is weird but it is true. You need HTC Audio Manager installed then only the cube/touchflo will works.

I did install Cube on my ELF with UCE-C 12.01 and it's working fine.

Hi Ameet why you changed your photo the old one more cool.
Reflects my simple self. Old one makes me look more strict :D

Something like that happened to my elfin once. I needed to track down the original HTC rom and apply that to fix it. After that I could put on a custom rom again.
If you have USPL installed then you may flash the custom ROMs

Oh my god, my elf is dead......... After I install 12.01 UCE-C from my sd card it changed to tri color bootloader. After that I release the battery and put it back however it never start again............
At the beginning I think it may be flat battery I tried to rechage the battery externally but still have no change.
Anyone have any idea? :(
Try and do a Hard Reset and see what happens. My ROMs will not be bricking any device, it may brick the OS (meaning, you may boot into only bootloader, but not bricking the device) Do you have the USPL installed? If not then flash a shipped ROM

hey man i tried to flash using sd flashing on elfin nothing occurs its formated to fat32

Try the UCE RUU version. Only difference is 11MB more storage memory

I just install the 12.01 version, and I've found 2 issues :
a. the "backlight adjustment" won't work after install the HTC today which I've found in internet.
b. The touchflo that I found from internet won't work. it will stock on the "favorite people" always everytime you start to use touchflo by finger.
a. The HTC home 2.1 plugin has the backlight bug. Even I found that issue even on my shipped ROM. As mentioned, I'll post the shipped Home plugin from my device. Trust me, its more speedy with al the functions

b. For the favorite people tab you need some reg entry. I dont remember off hand but I'll post it once I get it :)

Notice that the start-menu "Start" you changed it to "Menu". It's been awhile I try to figure out how to do that. I managed to change my start-menu icon, cursor, a few icons in Setting but am unable to find the way to change the "Menu" to something else.

What is the size of you SD card? The one I use is 512MB. Dont rename the .nbh file. It is already named for SD Card flashing. Normally the message in red is seen as countdown when the device asks you if you want to upgrade the ROM

Yes, correct.. just put the shellres.96.dll.0409.mui in windows. Same goes for the keyboard, I've change it to Cream Rose Keyboard that I downloaded from your rapidshare folder, just simply put the msim.96.dll.0409.mui in windows.

Ameet, I have a question on my side: with the new boot order, the calibration is after the UC scripts, but I have cabs that needs some clicking, impossible to do without a proper calibration. I think remembering that you mentioned a way to set the calibration data, but couldn't find the message anymore.
I tried to provision the calibration registry key, it did nothing. Any idea ?
Or is there a way to launch the calibration wizard from the SDConfig ?

The start menu name thing is somewhere in shellres.dll.409.mui, is it possible for you to post this file here? I appreciate it very much.

After unzip the archive, there are two files imageinfo.bin and S000 file without extension. This is what I meant by saying it will take me some time to figure out how to change it to a MUI file.:)

This ensures tru values for screen calib :) Since nothing runs after the screen calib is done that may disturb the values :)

Yes, it works... installed the latest Manila2D... being an UCE ROM, it needs a lot of other things to be installed such as Opera, HTC Album, Audio Manager, Google Maps... and being an UCE ROM, I do not have to worry about storage memory on my Elf, plenty of available space:D

Sure ? OK, and even I guess it'll be good to have an option if Ameet can include the Manilla 2D inside the new ROM, althought it may violate the UC definition, yet there may be an option as well because I believe the UC ROM should be the cleanest ROM for ELF(IN) to include the Manilla 2D.

Wont include the TF2D in this ROM since it will defeat the UCE concept. But am working on the manilla settings to make it bug free and create a clean manilla only cab to be posted in the addons

Good news!! Although 12.01 is the best Rom till now I ever had on my phone! One suggestion: please leave your wireless manager out of this ROM. I never use it, and it cleanes again something.

Batterylife is way better than the 11.01 and the 10.01 Rom, what exactly did you change there?

Is it also possible to change some registersetting for speeding up this rom? Now everything is deleted out of this Rom for clean rom, isnt it an idea to speed this rom up, like the essential Rom?? There must be a lot of reg tweaks available to speed up, or am I wrong? It is still Windows ;)

One thing more: since when is the PP changed again to 8 MB? Were the other UC roms with 4 MB PP???
Wireless manager is something that is included as a basic material. Didnt include the Commmanager since there are many available externally installable :)

TF2D is currently hard coded to run from Windows. I'm trying to find out a way to change the hard coding on use of the images, which I want to place outside win

Copy this .exe file to \Windows, then it will open the wireless manager once you click on link in settings

The trick is simple. Manilla2D is hard coded to open CommManager.exe through that link in settings. This file is nothing but the default wireless manager renamed to CommManager.exe ;)

HS++ works well with 14.01. No issues. If you are activating the today plugin with the Manilla2D today, then it will not be seen since TF2D overrulles all the today plugins

Oo..okay... tried that M2D but I got problem with Weather Tab. Back to use the M2D update 7 by Herg which I find the fastest among all that I tried. Everything is working perfectly except the known issue of YouTube. (still trying to make it works).

Completed with full installation of softwares on this UCE-C 14.01, still have plenty of space. The memory is good, faster system and the battery life I believe is good too as you mentioned on the changelog.

Agree, the speed is good... in fact after some reg tweaking and overclocking, it is very good :).

Yes, I got problem with weather with most of the released M2D except the one that I am using now... it doesn't matter much not using the newer version because I like the feel and speed of this M2D.

looks like there is a problem with the UCE-C of the 14.01 . Never had any issues when flashing the UCE-C in previous builds. I can flash the rom to my device, but after the "installing" procedure on first time boot, the device is f*cked up. Normally you get the calibrate screen wizard, but the keyboard stays on a white screen and nothing happens. I don't have this issue with the 14.01 UCE rom.

One big problem with this ROM:

I have TomTom 6 installed on my Touch, and (also in the PDAVIET ROMS) after 5 minutes, the screen goes blank, and I must start TT again.

How to solve this issue? Is this perhapse done by the improved batterylife, which was also in the VIET Roms?)

UC is only during the first start. Did you try the Manilla package from herg's thread? Did that work for you?

Flashed the new radio rom, maybe somehow i changed it. or my old radio drivers couldn't corporate with this rom. But it's fixed now.

Has anyone tried this UCE-C from Sunday? I've switch to the RUU and manilla2D is very fast, I almost want to stay with it but will go back to uce-c if it's working.

text messages are not being marked as read in threaded view on 1201 and 1401 - annoying keyboard will keep popping up and closing on entering threaded view, the message view shrinks then expands back automatically, also when clicking on input area, snaps back closed until you click on keyboard icon, quite odd.

I found thats 14.01 ROM working for me; and I miss the HTC Animation (after the splash screen) ... I already copy the animation.gif file to the windows folder, and configure it using Julien Schapman's Advanced Configuration Tools V3.1 ... it's not shown yet.

It is a big problem to find a normal MS Office!
On a first page Codia post a link to Microsoft Office Mobile v6.1, but it is strange, because it has wrong text in Excel's View>Show and Menu>File. In addition, this version is old - it is 2007 in about screen, when the last version is released in 2008. How to update it and get rid of menu muddle?

Sorry brother. Slowed down on the UCE since I lost all my data from the computer. HDD crashed :( So am working on something new and also on the UCE front its right again from scratch :( So taking time, also since I dont have a test device, going slow on the main phone that I use

:) For sometime brother :) Something new for ElfIns. This one is with the all new Opal OEM and 20755 SYS + XIP. Going to cook a final version at home on Monday (IST) and then test it for a week then release it ;)

Thats was a problem faced by lot of people. Use the UCE RUU version. I'm taking off the UCE-C link since it has many issues and now I cant fix it :(

Oh no. I wont say that. Look around in the active ROMs, you'll see great chefs with cool ROMs. Htctouchp's TESS gives you max memory and good battery life. Shafez's Opal port is a new line which is a full port of Opal ROM :), Gullum with his M2Throttle. Many cool ROMs and speedy too. These days even I'm thinking of flashing myself with one of them too ;)

Perhaps I must learn also how to cook!

The UCE is almost like the only-OS ROM except it contains all the basic functions which you may not find a cab installer or any package outside. I removed everything that you can install as external package

i followed the fake server tricks but still doenst help at all. do u know any other trick to kill the auto start? i search forum but only found fake server tips.

by the way, after u configure the fake server and set the schedule to Manual, don't delete the 'fake server'. it works for me this way.

thanks htctouch, but i didnt delete it and still get actvsyn on from time to time. i untick the time syncronization (on the phone setting) it reduce but not completely make actscyn dissapear. very strange. i remember with other ROMs, the fake servers is working...

not the phone setting. in active sync, click Menu>Schedule and then select both options to Manual and soft reset.

Wanting a clean WM6.1 ROM, I tried 14.01 (WWE) but I was a little dissapointed in regards to available storage mem. It showed me 63MB free storage (approx., I don't know the exact figure anymore), which is less than 2MB more than the one I use right now (61,13MB, Bordeaux without Cube and TouchFlo from EPS). And that one _already includes_ the Office package and some other apps and was localised to German. After I installed Office 6.1 on the UCE, used storage was already above 8MB.

So I'm inclined to ask: why does the UCE have such a small benefit in free storage, if it contains only a "skeleton Windows"? :confused: (or how did the cook of the other ROM manage to inlcude Office and other things at such a small price *g*).

Can you re download the ROM and check again? :D The UCE is a ROM which has only almost the basic OS with a ROM size of less than 41MB, only hex edited to make it 50mb for the RUU version. For the UCE-C version, the ROM is not hexed. Which makes the ROM show me approx. 175mb free storage memory (on my ElfIn) I really dont know about Elf

Hi Gurus,

I have been trying to get UCE-C (12.01) working for my Elf, but alas could not get it to work. Here are the steps I have taken

1. Used Resco Explorer Trial version to format my 1 GB SD card, there was no option where it says to format in FAT/FAT32 so I am guessing, it should have formatted in Fat32 by default
2. Install cert_SPCS and EnableRAPI, rebooted device
3. Ran elf-uspl and at the stage 3 when it was loading RUU gui, I rebooted the phone with the camera button pushed.
4. My device read the SD card content and then gave an error invalid certificate.

Is there some thing that I am missing?
Currently I am using Touch Essential 2. Please help

Ok Viz. First off, wherever you are posting, stop quoting the entire post just to ask a simple question. There's no fun in that especially since a lot of members do check xda from their pdas

Secondly, I suggest you go for the USPL recently posted by Htctouchp in the first sticky here. That removes the 50mb limit from RUU and you can flash any size of ROM. So you wont need the SD card trick and stuff, simply flash the latest USPL and there you go ;)

Because when you install cabs there's an extra backup file placed to restore the installation, that takes up that extra space.

Check the "\Windows\AppMgr\" folder to see what i mean.
