Drivers Succefully ported solving video problems

can any1 test and confirm this? Im still a noob and dont know how to cook rooms, but if someone can do it coz this guys rom is chinese. We need to have one in english.

I've tried to replace the original touch.dll by the one provided here, G'Reloc-ed it, cooked a new NBH (successfuly...).

But when I flashed it, my Niki restarted well, but the screen is not reactive when WM ask to set it up...

I'm a noob to, but I really think the chinese version doesn't suit our devices... :( maybe only at the moment... ;)

that's quite possible, depending on your xip. you can try to port more oemdrivers from my rom.

At the moment I'll wait for someone smarter than me in cooking to put your drivers in ROMs, but I really think your drivers might be usefull in a near future...

We have a bit of a problem. The driver mentioned is said to be from the Dopod s600, Which has a different CPU/chipsetty thingo:

Who knows the differences. If I want to test, how do I know that flashing it will not brick my Touch Dual?

They are almost the same, the only difference is the radio. My touch dual is HTC P5500, and I can use the driver very well.

Please, instructions would be incredibly helpful. How did you find out? How did you know? Why is the driver better on the s600? Does the s600 have WIFI and GPS?

The driver is newer, it does not have WIFI or GPS.

with the S600 Drivers it works a little bit smoother but no Video playback
acceleration...

but the touching issue is solved with the driver :D

That's still pretty damn fine. Do we have to reflash to get this? Also, I installed hardspl (how do I check?) and flashed another non branded HTC rom. These other roms are newer. To flash another one what would I have to do, would I have to run "sspl-1.16-nike.exe" again etc?

About the touching issue, it gets slow when I touch the screen, so when I play the game that using touch screen to control it will get very slow. This issue can be solved using the new touch driver.

I noticed that while playing Snes! Does that happen when using the device normally too. In IE for example?

Yes, that happens every where i think.When I use hand writing to input, it delays too much. But now its very fast.

Oh yeah, I still need that question answered =P If I think i've installed HardSPL can I just run the exe to flash it? Or do I need to run "sspl-1.16-nike.exe" still?

I've been learning how to put the whole rom together. It's really hard and I pretty much can't do it. I've decompiled the Niki project rom, and found a load of dll files. But I for some reason know I can't just whack touch.dll in there and it will be sorted. I think it has to be properly implemented. I have no idea after that.

Hmmm, that sound very complicated indeed.

I hope someone can release a ROM that just the basic WM6 ROM, with everything original and just this driver. If someone does, ill spend a whole day learning about flashing :-)

I'm quite sure it can be done with a CAB actually (80% ?). I only found this thread about 30 minutes before I left home (and I will not be back 'til sunday night) so I didn't have time to try extensively... It should be possible though.

I did roll it into my Kaiser but it didn't work correctly after the first try (which was all I had time fore).

Oh wow. Do you think then? That would be awesome. If we can make the cab, then all we have to do is convert it into a package and cook it to include it on the niki project rom?

Or we could just install the cab ... How do you make that then?

I nearly had it. I dumped, extracted and cooked the Niki Project rom with the new dll in it but came to a bit of a problem when I couldn't find a radio file to use when getting to 'htc rom tool'. I want to use the exact same one that's in the Niki Project rom, but I don't know what it is or where to find it.

Yeah, that's where it goes a bit downhill for me. I now know i've got hardspl installed properly. But I could probably mess my bootloader up easily. Im like that :-P

I just wish that I knew where to get that .nb file for the radio rom.

I made it. But flashing isn't working. I get to 3% and get a "error:244 invalid model id". My Niki still works though.

EDIT: Flashed it. But gets stuck at the startup screen where it shows the version numbers etc. Not cool =( Thought I had it too.

I hear the mary v0.2 rom is newer than toms. I may take some benchmarks of that one tonight, and see if I should put this s600 driver in that rom too.

I'd like to see it in the Mary v0.2 Rom, it's what I'm using, I find that it has less bug's than Tom's v1 rom

Awesome. Ill do it tonight. I just dont know whether this s600 touch.dll driver is better than the one included in the mary v0.2 rom. I will have to research how to benchmark the video drivers to find out.

Lol. I like RS, but I guess a lot of people don't. It works well for me, and my family. I have family all over the world, and we upload to RS and everyone can download quickly. So that's good :).

May I make a request? I haven't tried Mary's Rom, but I've been using Tom's and it works like a dream, it has very few bugs, and I like it. Would you consider cooking it into both roms? Beggers can't be choosers, but hey... Might as well ask :) lol. Niki project all the way!

You cant make cabs that replace modules.
