I am merely interested in removing a few pixels from the bottom of the start menu / indicator bar at the top of the screen. See, I use Retro Clock w/ a sweet background and a battery bar indicator [wkTask, excellent mgr app] at the top and it would be fiine to see just the sweet minimal gui..
If there already exists a way to remove the top bar, perhaps one of you should post the name of an app ;]
Otherwise, if devs or hackers know a way to shave pixels off an app [by messing with the gui api calls, etc] I would be into hacking together an autorun python script.. Or transparent bar would be good too.. man.. too much to customize. ;]
Cheers,
`n

lots of options exist in this area including the removing of the bar and or reducing its size and or making it transparent. Please either google or use search of this site at the top right of this page. You will get a lot of hits. Keywords "Top bar" or "Tob task bar" or "start bar" etc.
Thanks,

FYI PMC TodayShrink will remove the pesky bottom bar.. but the hardware soft keys can still be assigned and pressed.

those can be deactivated as well. use search. These new threads clog up the forum.

Dangit!! Don't do that. If this guy doesn't use search we will be answering his questions from here to enternity or have new threads like this one started covering old info. It clogs up the forum. The idea of give them the answer and but tell them to search next time actually hurts this forum. I know it feels good to be helpful but do so by directing them with search topics.
Like right now at the time of this post just 7 topics down in this forum is a thread about top bar. And 2 pages back is another and it keeps going and going. before long the forum will be crowded again with repeat of of information that keeps development threads slowed.
Thanks

welcome to using a forum, what are you, new? people are going to have questions, you don't want to answer them and help, then don't do it, but don't come in here and complain because someone has a question, even if it has been asked/answered multiple times.

Dude shut up. Newb's are people like you. You've been here for a few months and going to try and tell someone who has been here for a few years how to work the site. Sit back, stick the pacifier in your mouth and keep to yourself. And by all means don't try and tell someone who has been here that long anything about site rules. What you have to say may be correct for the sites you normally go to but read the forum rules here and you will find them to be drastically different.

clog up the forums huh? define a clog....does it mean wasting your time crying on the forum or getting on with your life after you have used the forum for whatever you want...whenever you are ready let me know ill mail you some tissues for your meaningless tears...i gues you are the first person to cry about someone not searching first ....being a so called noob .... by the way what is a noob is it someone who inexperianced ...who maybe would not know what exactly to search for...maybe if you just not respond the NOOB would then search...anyways quit wasting your time cuz this is the last time im wasting mine

although this kid is wrong for starting a new thread when he could have searched to find the answer, it doesnt mean that you have to respond like this....the forum is here to help people gain answers to their questions, the quickest way to do that is to ANSWER THE QUESTION, quit being an a$$

The quickest way is not always the best way. Answer the question only goes to encourage the behavior. So, it is a quick solution with a condratictive affect. Sounds like a lot of the newb's are a little light in their louffers today.

If you would have kept quiet and shed tears in your pillow instead, this thread would have been over a page ago.

My vote goes with you curious george ...it is too bad that some people could not simplify things what they want and failed to understand the existence of Search utility ;)
