It is really wonderful my sp5m is now all new not just smartphone but it becomes a PPC. Only thing is as the screen resolution is meant for VGA all fonts and items becomes so small, luckily my eyesight is still good;).

You can use CeleTask for this. Just bind CeleTask to Short_AP2.lnk or any other hard button in Windows directory. I use this variant on all rom I trying:-) Works good. CeleTask already included in rom.

I am sorry! I could not understand. Yes I can set CeleTask to any hardware key, but what I actually want is a hard key working as "Tab" key of normal keyboard.
I like to use some applications, like Home expenses or Bill Buddy for keeping records of my financial transaction. But in both case by just moving joystick up & down could not move cursor from one field to other. Activating the pointer, selecting field and returning again in normal mode takes time. If there is a "Tab" key equivelent jumping from one field to another will be very easy.
If there is anyway to set a hard key as "Tab" key please tell me.

ch2, you are right, this is a ppc rom designed for touch screen.. you also know that all tornados are not touch screen. Only thing you need to know is how to work it on tornados.. this is a masterpiece. Yes, selecting items/menus on screen are not that simple... but here is a pointer (fake cursor), just press the home button a little longer.. then you can select anything on screen. The comm button is set to <OK/Cancel> but you can customise the hard buttons to your conveniences.. only thing is you need little patience and little more explore. This rom is really magnicent, a new look, a new feel... now my sp5m is no longer that old sp it is a new ppc.
If you don't have much time to explore just avoid installing new roms and stick to that good old wm5 and don't tell -ve things for things you know very little.:mad:

ch2 This kind of comment shows a lack of respect. You can certainly say you dom't like the ROM and the reasons why - BUT if you do this in a rude way then a ban may follow. Different forums have different tolerance levels for this kind of thing. From the comments made above I think you have found this forum finds this offensive.

Normally I would just warn folk who do this and delete the offending words. However in this case the comments have been quoted a few times, so I have left them there.

I have installed some applis of both PPC & SP most of them working fine.. for TCPMP for SP turned as PPC appli. spb insight, spb diary, spb time all are working fine .. but some appli like bill buddy jumping cursor from one field to other is not possible by up/down so need to activate pointer.. pl.. check with other appli and tell me you find some good ones..

Hey i upgraded my SP5m with this ROM, but my keypad doesn't seem to work!! All i get is just digits (123) :( . I tried installing the T9 English cab. But didnt work.. The software keyboard works fine ( have to make a few adjustments). Please if anyone's keypad is working please help me..

After working with the new ROM i've noticed that the keyboard problem occurs when you try to input some alphabets into a non-system field ( like the address bar of Opera). while typing through the keypad, we get only digits in that text field. And if you use the software keyboard, it will work fine unless and until you press SHIFT or CTRL keys.. Pressing these keys FREEZES the keyboard and the only option to get out of that is to soft reset your cellphone.

P.S.: The keypad works fine while writing a text message or notes or address in PIE.

There is one thing though I can't figure out. I can't get GPRS to work. On other WM6.1 Pro rom, it asks for Access Point. But in this rom, it asks for number instead and that is not working, even though I tried entering Access Point of my carrier in the number field. Anyone knows how to fix this?

Settings->Connections->Connections->My ISP->Add a new modem connection:
- enter a name for connection - ANY NAME,
- select modem - Cellular line (GPRS),
and press NEXT.
- access point name - HERE YOUR ACCESS POINT,
and press NEXT.
- user name,
- password,
- domain,
- advanced Settings,
and press FINISH.
That's all. It's work, just try it;-)

You are right! I had installed it on my sp5m and worked for some days, then one day while connecting to my pc (usb) some sync file becomes corrupted because of memory full and no more phone call possible :mad: I just get blue. And, flashed it with a standard one only to feel returning to an old world:(. It seems I am addicted to this PPC.
So, now I flashed again with this rom back and spb Mobile Shell v1.5 makes my sp5 really wonderful. I am wondering how can I return back to just SP os?

But one issue I found is if I am running some appli, even though I keep my phone lock/standby battery is really draining out. If there is some improvement on new version it will be a real welcome:).

Hello. I am using this rom from RC4. I had many other rom's and this is the best without one thing. When I take out battery and put it in phone and turn on date and time is gone. Ok, that's not a problem, but with date and time gone are my SMS! Not all. But most of them. Strange is it: my old SMS that I deleted are back again! you need other rom (rom update utility) and just replace the file nk.nbf of that with this one and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and voila it will done:cool:
But careful follow the guides never forget SuperCID... anyway if anything goes wrong you are lucky for sp5m factory roms of wm5 are available:D

NO. Never. May be programs that you install do that. Try to uninstall them, or hard reset device.

Ok, I nstalled the rom and everything seems to work fine but I've been searching for the key that serves as the ok or close key, but i dont seem to find it anywhere :confused: . I know that this is a ppc Rom but is there a way to make the keys work as in smartphone wm6.1? My solution has been to use the red hang up key but that only takes me back to the home screen and leaves the programs open in the background :mad: wich then I have to close them via celetask or task manager. Modem link works fine in this rom. Don't know why you have problem with this.
If you use cable, then Connection must be USB, and access point name also must be filled.

Thanks, this Rom is fantastic.
I installed it on my XDA Phone and it works very fast and i can use my favorite ppc programs on my phone.
Only one thing is a little bit strange. I can't change the backlight settings, means that i can change them, but they will be ignored. Thats why the light wen't off during navigation.
Anyone an idea how i can solve this very little problem.

You can't change backlight Settings on this rom, It's impossible. Tornado isn't ppc as it is.

Well, you don`t understand what we are talk about. Your trick just help to off backlight. We talk about possible or not to set in percents power of backlight, as it possible on PPC.

Hey drasterlx ! I had the same problem. You just have to install some ppc lock aplication thats all. I am using "Mortsaver" you can set buttons with you want to lock your smartphone. And the most important thing - it is locking all butons! Greetings for all .

This is the greatest ROM, I have ever seen for my loved Tornado. You have to get used to it, but when you got it, it is perfect.

Here is my problem, and I hope somebody can help me. I istalled TomTom 6.2 (PPC Version with FakeCursor) under latest Nitrogen-Rom before and everything worked great. Now, that I have installed the new Rom, TomTom starts and I get the start screen. But the next screen, which appears is totally scrambled. Can' t see anything.....

I hope somebody can helb me... Really important, because I will go to the US next month.:-(

I think it's the best ROM for Tornado! On this ROM works appz and gamez from PocketPC amd Smartphone :-). ROM is fast and stable. I have no problems with camera, bluetooh, activesync over bluetooth, sounds, etc. Thank you. I can donate you if you will prepare new versions :-). Please implement polish xT9.

When you download a rom it usually comes with some files such as the RUU and some other ones, in that folder where the RUU is located there is a file called nk.nbf, replace that file with the one you have just downloaded and start the RUU, good luck.

Any one have spanish XT9 for this ROM.

Normally Start menu can be invoke by pressing Home key, Comm key is for OK/Cancel and long Home key will bring up Pointer (fakecursor) but you can change them later. Just read this thread from the start.
I am not sure but I think it should work on SPV C600.

Start menu appears when you press the home-button. When you press it longer then FakeCursor appears and you can use it like taps with the stylus.

Navigon Nobile Navigator 5 and 6 works perfekt with this ROM and FakeCursor (iGO8 don't).

But how can i set the backlight on permanent? It turns off after a few minutes even when navigation runs.

The key mapping works ok for me, because i'm writing in german.

I've changed the keyboard layout of VGAKEY to german and installed german language for the xT9.

The backlight is the only problem for me with this fantastic rom. (Ok, the DeviceLock function should lock ALL keys...)

You are right, the device keeps always on, only the screen turns black. When you set in Settings -> System -> Power a time for turning off the device, the device REALLY turns off (no standby).

I've asked a friend of mine to help me a litte bit with answering in english. And this is his porposal: ;)

For the xT9: I used the cab from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=390709), opened it with the WINCE CAB ANALYZER and just extracted the files and registry settings for the chosen language.

The key mapping of the rom is correct. If it doesn't work on your device, reflash the rom but use the command "format BINFS" before doing so.

My power drain is normal, I have checked that with the tool ACB POWERMETER. I'd suggest to switch of bluetooth if you don't use it.

I don't know whether it has an impact on power drain, but I always switch on the device lock by pressing the red call end button for 3 seconds.

With the newest beta of FakeCursor you can use a external cursor file.

I've use my favorite cursor form WinXP.

There's no need to set anything for fakecursor. Just overwrite the old fakecursor.exe inside the windows folder with the new one.

The "long-press-home" funktion is already in this ROM. :cool:

I've only set a timeout for fakecursor in his setting, so that it disappears after 6 seconds of not in use.

@ thacen: The device lock does not work for all keys. I have not yet testet any other locking tools, but if you like, you can test S2U2 fom A_C, which can controlled by the direktion pad. you have only to define a key for locking the device. If i had time for it, i will test it. :)

When I reboot phone yesterday, it stopped to ask for sim card pin. On the Today screen is written "No service". Once again I rebooted phone and it does not give anything. But when I go to Settings>Phone suddenly I got asked to enter a pin, but nothing else. It is still no service.

It is happening from time to time. I do not know how to deal with it (exepting reflashing rom again - because I do not know how to do hardreset in the Tornado with Kamikadze WM6.1 pro RC5 rom installed).

So, when it will happen again how to repair it without reflashing rom?

I think the corner direction said by smoma must be direction between top-left, top-right, bottom-left, etc, i.e. 45 degree directions. I think such directions are not supported by hardware so it is not.

Hi all, i flash my phone to this ROM again, this ROM it's very Wonderful, i try to install de RC6 but this install in Russian Language and i had to back to the RC5.

In S2U2 you can use the d-pad (joystick) instead of touching the screen. You can set it in S2U2 options.

With switch dpad on (under others) S2U2 can be unlocked by moving joystick to the right.

But...

If you leave the other setting on default, the device switches fully off after Power off timeout.
When you select "but blank screen only" or "Don't Suspend Power" the display turns off after timeout and it won't turn on after unlock. :mad:

Result: unuseable. :(

I'm having exactly the same issue. No matter I set manually the network, I still get no service. Did you resolve this?

I had also faced more or like this problem, no network, not accessible to contacts, etc. In this case the pim.vol is removed or renamed and after softreset a new fresh pim.vol is generated automatically and I sync my contact back. I solved my problem.:D

Regarding S2U2 another plus point is it improves battery backup time;)

My Tornado is a O² Xda Phone, which is similar to the SP5m and afaik have all Tornados only joysticks with 4-way-navigation. There is no solution possible because of hardware restrictions.

For the backlight-problem: Great tip from Gomer Pyle! But I've made a big mistake on first using this tool. :rolleyes: You have first click on SAVE DEFAULTS! With saved defaults for backlight time you can now switch to infinite backlight or normal time by clicking on BACKLIGHT TOGGLER. (I had first clicked on Backlight Toggler and then on Save Defaults, so my backlight would never go off. DOH! :eek:)

After searching the developers up and down I've found the registry setting for backlight timeout. You can control the time by setting it (in seconds) in the DWORD-Value of HKCU/Control Panel/Power/Display. If the DWORD Display not exist, you have to create it.

I hope that Kamikadze can implement this setting for backlight timeout to the normal control panel in the next ROM he made.

I think it not possible to type alphabet in command prompt except by using vga keyboard. You know this rom is for ppc, though it runs quite satisfactorily on tornado there should be some limit, you have to be feel satisfied with using fakecursor.;)

At this model of such buttons is not present. On my Qtek 8310 is only
AP1 (Contacts) and AP2 (Messaging).
All these buttons are only in the Tornado "Music".

How it happen:confused:. For me default is xt9 and I can change it Abc too by long pressing '*'.
While using java appli in Jbed, some appli behave like that only 123 but in such cases I use vga key.

This ROM is absolutely BRILLIANT, and to me, the best one here so far (though everyone's work here is great). What strikes me, is that this PRO version seems more responsive than the smartphone versions....does anyone here know why? I would think that because this version of WM has more abilities, it should be slower, but no...quite interesting.

The only problems I've seen:

1. Cannot seem adjust the wifi timeout, unless I'm missing a setting somewhere. This is not good when talking on Skype (PPC version), and all of a sudden everything temporarily disconnects till I press a button and wake it up again. I thought I had found the answer in the registry key of HKLM\Comm\tiacxwln1\Parms\HTCPowerSaveTimeout (increased it up all the way), but it only really gives me about another additional minute....there must be a second setting I'm missing.

2. A problem I've had before...for some reason, after I use wifi, then I turn it off, at times it will turn itself on again. Rebooting fixes this...till I need to use wifi again, at which point it will do this all over again. It's as if the "off" message isn't truly shutting off the wifi, but putting it in some sort of "sleep" mode.

Anyway, again, I am really impressed with this release, and still stunned at how great it runs on the Tornado!

I'm with iceage6! this rom is SuperB! battery life is awesome! the speed is blazing fast! and for the first time in 2 years, i've got full hebrew (installed Paragon LEng) on this rom! :D

Highly Recommend This Combo Software (not free!) to use with this rom!

- Photo Contact Pro 5.0x
- WebCamera Plus 2
- and of course: Skype

Using SPB with this ROM is absolutly amazing! makes the whole usage far easier and more comfortable since we don't have a touch screen! Now i just wish it was easy to navigate and if someone would port this to the S730/Wings :rolleyes:

OK, I found two registry settings which seem to solve the wi-fi timeout problem that I mentioned in my previous post (how wi-fi goes to sleep in the middle of a conversation on skype after a minute or so).

Using a registry editor, I changed the Value Data settings for the above from 1 to 0, and wi-fi now stays awake & connected (even after the backlight dims and the screen goes dark) till you intentionally turn the wi-fi off via the icon in the wireless manager. Very useful!

It would be truly great to see a "Platinum Edition" type of release of this 6.1 PRO ROM (speaking of, hats off to NiTroGenious for doing such a brilliant job on the WM6 5.2.1711.18165.0.5.0 SP1 release...I got very comfortable with how well everything worked on it, and what a great package it was in general).

I believe there is a kitchen for this rom that was posted few weeks after this ROM was posted here. Do a search on this forum and you shall find it. Chances are I might have downloaded it too. I'll check tonight on my stuff.

I cant remeber weather I tried long press, or just tried tapping on * key. I have installed xT9 to abc from this thread and now default is abc. :)

Is there a way to play amr files, set them as ringtones, etc? WMP doesn't recognize them.

I don't think so, i'm using it on my T-Mobile SDA now for a few days, and i'm transferring files from my S730 and from my PC and without issues. I have a few complaints, the volume always falls down for example. And no option to have received files automatically on the memory card.

Option for saving files on memory card is moBlue, but this not working for me.

Bluetooth pairing is my main issue, this option i'm always disabling on normal Smartphone ROM.

Soft reset you can make 2 ways:
- run CeleTask, then click Menu>Utilities>Reboot
- power off and on phone ;)

Hard reset you can make standard way - press two softkeys and press Power button for 3 seconds.

I not have contact with Kamikadze, because i'm not speak Russian ;)


EDIT: I'm trying to port Wizard ROM to Tornado, but i not have a Wizard ROM with <=40MB weight. And PKGTool with dumped TNT Vanilla Wizard ROM does nothing. Anyone can help with porting Wizard ROM > Tornado ?

I cant make the hard reset, because i hold th soft keys and the power but only power in normal way :-(

WHile holding soft keys, you need to press power button for only 1-1.5seconds, not longer. Try several times, it should work.

Yes Yes Yes! I'm ported ROM from Wizard, with success. But system starting, displaying info "Tap the screen to set your Windows Mobile-based device.". When i'm tapped the screen using FakeCursor, screen going to blank and this is end of booting. Any help?

open registry editor, go to display for editing values, then in settings deactivate clear type, then go to restry editor again and letters aren't grabled :). Turn cleartype again and chek registry editor and letter are fine!
