Hi !

I'd like to share with you the skin I made for HTC Home.
I used the presentation of the HTC Diamond as basis to this skin.

http://lpaso.free.fr/images/Screen01.pnghttp://lpaso.free.fr/images/Screen.png

I'd like to know what you think about.

Install :
- deactivate the HTC Home plugin
- copy the pics in the Windows folder
- activate the HTC Home plugin
- make "Wallpaper.png" your wallpaper
- use UI Tweaker if you want to have the black bars

Install for the "black edition" :
- follow the install of the normal edition, then put the pics from the black edition zip

I have minor imperfections to correct, so there will be updates

Update :
- forgot 3 pics
- change in the HH_BEZEL*
- add the "option" => when hours is <10, empty pic or a zero (replace the HH_HOME_off.png of the archive with the HH_HOME_0.png of the color you want)
- add some pics (tabs, icons)

NEW - Diamond Wireless Switch

http://lpaso.free.fr/images/WirelessSwitch.png

Works the same way than Effcom, but graphically.
Features :
- toggle BT, WiFi and phone
- hold 1 second to have a little menu appear to select options concerning the item

Install :
- install batterystatus advanced (http://www.chi-tai.info/download/BatteryStatusExt.1.05.CAB)
- copy the dir and the XML file from the zip to \Windows\BatteryStatus
- change the theme in the options of BatteryStatus (Advanced Tab)

Update :
- Add the BT Discoverable icon.
- Improved the phone state recognition

!!! New : HHC Pack !!!

Hi !

No, you don't need anything, just to put these pics in your Windows folder, overwriting the originals.

Install :
- deactivate the HTC Home plugin
- copy the pics in the Windows folder
- activate the HTC Home plugin
- make "Wallpaper.png" your wallpaper
- use UI Tweaker if you want to have the black bars

Enjoy ;)

Many thanks man!!
It works correctly on my Htc Touch...

I've just replaced the clock (not the background) using HTC HOME CUSTOMIZER... So I have only created a new folder clock called "diamond", and then pasted there all the files of your clock, then I had to edit the name of same files and add some files which were missing...;)

It's amazing!!! :D

one more thing, where u place the files depends on what version of htc home ur using. for me instead of placing the fies in the windows folder, there is a folder in the root of my device named htc home where u need to put them. thats for htc home version 2.1.

Honestly, I've been trying and trying to find good themes to give my phone a new feel, but while keeping it's same functionality. I liked PointUI, which I still sometimes use, it's cool... but it doesn't allow me to use apps as much as I used to. Then I saw this thread :)...

I <3 it... :D Awesome. Can you just explain why we would need to use the Tweak program? What bars :s? lol...

Thanks! :D LOVE IT! You're a genius! No need for batterystatus or anything. Just replacing the home images.hehe.

You're welcome !
In fact, I made this skin exactly for the reason you describe :
On my today page, I want to have the main information I need (unread mails/sms/calls, appointments, tasks, profile, connexion status), and I really like the functionnality of the Home plugin.

I tried PointUI for a month, but the need to swipe the screen to view the info I wanted bored me.
I tried Spb Mobile Shell, and it was almost perfect, but for some things I needed to go again on the today.
I tried Ultimate launch, but load my Kaiser with tons of plugin and configure the thing for hours is not what I wanted.

So, I made this skin :D

Concerning the UI Tweaker, it's to have the "full black". By default on WM6, you have gradient bars.

About the diamond, it's not already out, but I really wish someone to re-create the today plugin that it has (without the animation that could be really hard to reproduce I think).

I was in the process of trying this when your post first came out.
Yours looked a lot better than mine, so I built off yours.
I've added a few icons for the home screen based on screencaps of the Diamond, so I think it looks pretty slick.
I've attached them (with the original clock icons) in case anyone is interested.

next trick will be that new cool "vibrate" icon....

Hey, I downloaded your file, but it is missing one icon(the phone icon) Do you think you could upload with the new phone icon( for diamond)
You may or may not have it. I noticed that you only have 5 tab, and I have 6 tab.

Just download it and copy all the files into HHC/files/clock/diamond (you have to create the directory "diamond")
Remember to delete some files (and copy some others from an existing clock)..
You can look which files you need/you must delete from the directory of an other clock of HHC...;)

lpaso

I tried to make it the most "Diamond-look-a-like", so I used the flash presentation on the HTC website (http://www.htc.com/fr/product.aspx?id=46742)
I think it's pretty close, but I really like the "AP/PM" style nanastas made ;)

Another thing I'd like to change, is the grey that changes the tab icon when it's in focus... I can't change it. It's related to HH_BEZEL_* but when I change them, I got display problems (like a bad transparency).

For dwizzy130 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=691493), you just have to change duplicate "HH_BEZEL_FILL" two times and rename it as "HH_BEZEL_HIGHLIGHT" and "HH_BEZEL_LOWLIGHT".

They're hidden files, if you use Total Commander, for example, you won't need to show / hide them, because it automatically shows you them. :). And you can just extract them directly into the windows directory (just make sure your plugin is disabled, or else it'll be file protected) and overwrite the old ones!

Sorry guys, first time around I was trying to get the look- hadn't perfected it - probably never will.
As you pointed out- I don't use the music tab- so I tweaked the music icon because I didn't like the usual one for phone volumes.
Here is a revised one- I've gotten rid of the divider bars (I know it works with black, I don't know about other themes because i wasn't adjusting transparencies).
Only bug- it doesn't highlight the icons as bright as I'd like when the tab is active.
i'll try to work on that.
Holiday Monday here in Canada, so I don't think I'll be on it today....

I've managed to get this working for my Motorola Q9H smartphone by using the HTC home plugin found here (http://www.smartphone-freeware.com/download-htc-home-plugin-smartphone.html). Take the pngs from the first post and replace the ones in the Windows folder on the device. Someone with a smartphone and the desire to have the same Diamond effect can do it this way.

Hey hey, what I meant was not I'm going to use the animated clock, I don't think it's possible (HTC Home use only .png), but I may be wrong.

What I meant was a way to have the hours and the minutes each in a "block" instead than having a block by number.

Concerning having all 4 digits all the time :
replace the HH_HOME_off.png of the archive with the HH_HOME_0.png of the color you want

Thats funny... When I meantioned "Hey thats where its start, with a single idea... can't wait." I was refering to the statement you made in regards to implementing an idea to your icons. lol

Yes agreed it would be a hard task. Reason why I am trying through the Rltoday path. Even with that I think I will have several hurdles. lol

Yes, there is a way that you can move the home screen up and down. If you have regedit program, you can edit it. I am using Pocket Controller Pro to edit my registry.
First go to Settings, and uncheck HTC Home
...then...
Go to HK_Local_Machine
Software
Microsoft
Today
HTC Home and change "Type" to 4
Go to settings and click on HTC home again.

Well, bad news...
The ways I wanted to make the clock more "diamondish" don't work...

I think they're 4 ways :
- make the right side of each number larger :
http://lpaso.free.fr/images/TESTS/HH_HOME_8.png

- make the left side of each number larger :
http://lpaso.free.fr/images/TESTS/HH_HOME_9.png

- integrate the background of the numbers in HH_FW_framefill.png :
http://lpaso.free.fr/images/TESTS/HH_FW_framefill.png

- integrate the background of the numbers in the wallpaper :
http://lpaso.free.fr/images/TESTS/wallpaper.png

For the first solution, it doesn't work because HTC Home build the clock in the order : Tenth hours, hours, tenth minutes, minutes.

For the second solution, it works, but the left side of the Tenth hours and tenth mintutes is square and not rounded.

For the third solution, it doesn't work at all.

For the last, it works, but it's not really nice, cause when you push the Start button of windows, you see the backgound of the clock...

So, if you have any idea, I'd pleased to test it.

what if you use the second solution and leave the left side rounded? if you enlarge the left side enough it will just overlap and cover the division....

it is just an idea I'm not so very expert :-D

No it doesn't work because of the construction of the clock by HTC Home :
If the time is 12 : 34, it works like that :

The 1 is displayed, the 2 is displayed and overlap the 1, the : is displayed and overlap the 2, the 3 is display and overlap the :, the 4 is display and overlap the 3...

I'm working now on the other icons of the Home with the pics of jonelee99 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=916542), but I continue to find a way to display this damned clock ;)

I think you must have your browser window left open before you deactivate the HTC home... try close everything (incl. your browser windows) and then deactive the HTC Home, re-open back the browser and replace.

Also, Thanks Greatly for Ipaso, I was struggling months ago when I first saw the Diamond launch and thinking of making the skin, Thanks for your great help....

If any one is using A_C's S2U2, this is my contribution to match the Diamond Home.....

I'm in the middle of completing the SPB Shell theme by using the Diamond theme ... give me a little bit of time, should be up soon ... latest by tomorrow I think if you guys interested.

Hello guys!
I'm also working on a Diamond theme, but I stuck at one thing. I've created icons look very similar to the original diamond icons, but I have a darker square above my icons when they're selected (see picture). I know this is caused by one of the HH_BEZEL_fill.png, HH_BEZEL_lowlight.png and HH_BEZEL_highlight.png files.
Don't you know how to disable them or how to make them transparent? Thanks.

I think the 4th version should work. If you make a tsk theme with pocket pc theme generator, you can choose different picture for the start menu than the background. Make a plain black picture for the start menu and it's done. If I'm right;)

Yes, there is a way that you can move the home screen up and down. If you have regedit program, you can edit it. I am using Pocket Controller Pro to edit my registry.
First go to Settings, and uncheck HTC Home
...then...
Go to HK_Local_Machine
Software
Microsoft
Today
HTC Home and change "Type" to 4
Go to settings and click on HTC home again.
thanks you cool :)

I don't know if you'll like it, but there's a little skin for battery status to have a better look than Effcomm but the same functions (until now... ;))

http://lpaso.free.fr/images/WirelessSwitch.png

Hope you'll enjoy it :)

Install :
- install Batterystatus
- put the files in \Windows\Batterystatus

Thanks for the tip on UI tweaker, works like a charm :-)

May I ask where your download file for batterystatus is? :-)

Also, how to install the wireless bar, where do I copy the files and the xml file to?

Hi !

I'd like to share with you the skin I made for HTC Home.
I used the presentation of the HTC Diamond as basis to this skin.

http://lpaso.free.fr/images/Screen01.pnghttp://lpaso.free.fr/images/Screen.png

I'd like to know what you think about.

Install :
- deactivate the HTC Home plugin
- copy the pics in the Windows folder
- activate the HTC Home plugin
- make "Wallpaper.png" your wallpaper
- use UI Tweaker if you want to have the black bars

Install for the "black edition" :
- follow the install of the normal edition, then put the pics from the black edition zip

I have minor imperfections to correct, so there will be updates

Update :
- forgot 3 pics
- change in the HH_BEZEL*
- add the "option" => when hours is <10, empty pic or a zero (replace the HH_HOME_off.png of the archive with the HH_HOME_0.png of the color you want)
- add some pics (tabs, icons)

NEW - Diamond Wireless Switch

http://lpaso.free.fr/images/WirelessSwitch.png

Works the same way than Effcom, but graphically.
Features :
- toggle BT, WiFi and phone
- hold 1 second to have a little menu appear to select options concerning the item

Install :
- install batterystatus
- copy the files from the zip to \Windows\BatteryStatus

Update :
- Add the BT Discoverable icon.
- Improved the phone state recognitionCan this theme be made HHC freindly?

I had to mess around with this theme but I got it to look like Lpaso's Diamond Switch Theme.
To achieve Lpaso's Diamond Switch Theme:
1) First download the BatteryStatus cab attached. The cab I attached has the advanced options whereas the other batterystatus cab did not. That was why it did not work for me at first.
2) Then download the WirelessSwitch file.
3) Unzip the WirelessSwitch file and place the folder on the Window--->BatteryStatus directory. Then place the WirelessSwitch EXE in the same directory.
4. Now go to Progams --> BatteryStatus. CLick on the "Advanced" tab and select WirelessSwitch under "Theme-File".
5. Your theme should like the theme attached below.

Lpaso's screenshot is on the left and mine is on the right. I use DciNOBar to hide the bottom taskbar. I've attached the ZIP file. Simply unzip it then place the EXE file in Windows/StartUp directory. And for those that still need the UITweaker, it's attached as well.

I must say it does look pretty slick. Thanks Lpaso!!!

WiFi to 3G, it could be possible, but I still need to do some research. For data connection, use the menu that appear when you hold the "Phone" button ;)

What exactly are you referring to? I mean what are you trying to do? Are you trying to create the Diamond Home Theme? If you are just drop the HTC Home files in the windows directory. Grab all the HTC Home files from the folder and drop them there, it'll ask you if you want to overwrite it. Say "Yes to all" and you're good to go. If you're referring to the WirelessSwitch files then look at my directions.

The DciNOBAR will not wipe out your soft keys. It simply hides the bottom task bar. As far as wifi to 3G goes, I think Lpaso answered it for you. Like he said if you push and hold the wifi icon there should be an option for the different connections.

If one of you graphic guys out there could edit the .tsk so the area where the first h in the hh:mm:ss tt would appear as a "blank" for those of who use the h:mm:ss tt format. See zocster's post #226-->if the zero could be a "blank" until the number one, "1" appears directly on top of what appears to be a blank but is on the .tsk? Just a thought.

i installed SPB Mobile Shell v2.1 (Diamond) in my tilt wm6.1 and it did absolutely nothing. how do you get it to work?

HTC HOME DIAMOND BLACK SHADOW
after i installed this a few things were changed like when i try to select my favorite people it only shows my contacts and not my contacts and sim. it only will let me select one number under the contact and its not the number i want.

once we install HTC HOME DIAMOND BLACK SHADOW can we unistall regular htc home? by default the white clock is there with the separator but how do we get the black clock with the seperator? once you go to htc home customizer and change clocks how do you get the original theme clock back?

also the jog wheel wont let you select each item on the today screen anymore.
