This ROM was ported from VGA ROM so that this might be more stable than others.

You will have chance to test and feed back later.

Some main features :

- This is the first ROM which is ported 100% from HTC Diamond ROM ! So that XIP and System from the VGA ROM standard (HTC Diamnond) ,it's better for Universal

After update UNIVERSAL

- Paging memory = 5.2mb for more stable and faster .System memory free is a round 27m

- This is ROM Clean, except tiny software like psShutXP, Sync time, Registry,... This will be better for you to customize your own favorite software .
-THis rom supports G3&G4. not included FD for more stable with other function.

- ROM had been tested since yesterday. firstly, I realize that this is faster and better that some previous version.

Thanks which rom do you recommend for the Universal from all the last 3 PDAV roms - the one based on TYTN II and the other Universal UPdate 19990 or something like that.


With so many coming out..I think rather than shoot 100 out, they should release 1 or 2 and update that rom with updates...rather than release 10 different roms for universal..everyone cant keep flashing the rom each time a new update is released every few days. Better to work on 1 or 2 roms and keep updating it so we know which one or two roms to use rather than 10s of them coming out every week under seperate new threads.

Tilt is not a Universal, its a Kaiser. That might be where your going wrong.

In fact, you seem to be posting in the Kaiser forum normally, what are you doing over this side of the tracks?

Ive had no issues here. However there is nothing diamond about this really.

I just wonder whether theres a tool out there that lets you update the versions totally so you could even but 20000 or build 3000 if you wanted to. This seems to be the exact same as the previous TYTNII build (in fact it seems more like a TYTNII with maybe a minor glitch fix or something or maybe none at all).

The point being there should be a changelog why we should use diamond vs. tytnII firmware ...both seems same except the number (version).

I generally dont doubt ROM makers however in certain cases like these (where the translations to english dont do much good) and no changelogs...its very hard to see whether this is actually worth anything to us.

I have a 8GB Card which generally works fine with my older ROMS (6.1 with other ROM creators). With this rom interestingly I have 5 seconds of music played, then it hangs , buffers for about 20 seconds before playing again. I'm actually wondering if its better to go with the other ROM creators like Ranju).

As I say this got a call and it restarted after 5 seconds of the pickup of the call. Wonder if this is a bug or an issue...This is the one thing I just cant stand about this phone (not ROM)...it reboots ever since it got to WM6.

Works on my UNI, it is basic ROM

G or 3G icon is not displayed (strange)

Very fast Rom but runs by default at 624mhz

Very fast too at 520mhz 26.1mb free ram with my apps (Weatherpanel, battery status, ...).

My 16gb works fine, wep wifi too.

Don't use this ROM on tilt. You will brick your tilt. Go to Kaiser aka tilt section and download the ROM from there.

Though first you have to SPL, HardSPL, SuperCID and Security Unlock. Read a lot in that section and read some more, before you flash your ROM on tilt.

Also, never use the Radio from HELL, the Radio v1.65.17.10!

The Windows Live Mobile works perfectly. Make sure that you use the one from the Universal cabs. Some of the latest ones don't work on any version of ROMs on Universal.

So - I installed this in the hopes it'd work better with the latest Opera 9.5, but if anything it seems worse than the KDSKamal ROM I was using.

Now I *have* to re-flash, I may re-try Ranju's 7.6 -- I had some initial problems when I tried that earlier, but had run his 7.4 with no problems at all prior to switching to KDSKamal.

Hi orb3000,

There are no official Windows Mobile ROM version 6.0 or 6.1 for Universal. The official Universal ROMs are all version 5.0

All these latest ROMs for Universal are ported from different HTC devices. The latest HTC device is HTC Diamond, which is not officially lunched yet. Sometime in June it will start selling.

Some of the ROM cookers have gotten the HTC Diamond ROM. The first port was for HTC Polaris Master PhanQuang has ported this ROM to Universal. And, our own Master Leo is now porting this to KiaSer and he will shortly release it within an hour.

You can see how the excitement is going on there. The ROM is not yet released and it has already has five pages of comments, even after the MODs deleting bunch of comments.

I can confirm this, network setup is not working for PT (all networks settings). I allready post it. But i didn't solve the problem yet...

The spontaneous reboot seems to occur after a bluetooth headset has been used.

I didn't use my headset Bluetooth (I think the battery is dead) with this ROM... Only GPS receiver.

I assume that an non reliable ROM cannot be used (I don't want to have restruction in the functions).

Ranju's 7.7 has no problem, no reboot, BT ok, battery ok,...

I thought since it's derived from the Diamond ROM, too, it should work well, but it wouldn't work at all for me with this ROM.

I've been runing Ranju 7.7 without a hitch but was initersted in having the Dimond interface. I've tried twice now and it fails on my o2 xda exec. The devise installs without a hitch and then after the cold reboot it hangs in the "O2 graphics screen". Has anyone else managed to get this ROM to work on an 02 xda exec. By the way the Ranju 7.7 rom is quite awesome the pda is much faster, previously core player would struggle to play videos even at 320 resolution, now I can play at VGA level with 800bps video and 250kbps audio.

Ranju roms use flash disk which usually cause problems with other flashed roms not using a flash disk. u have to use the MTTY tool to be able to flash this rom...

also this rom, doesnt have the Diamond interface yet. the only notable thing about this rom is that it is an original VGA rom from the diamond rom which makes the overall interface faster.

Just a minor correction! It is not the Flash Disk that causes the problem, but it the ExtROM (Storage) that messes the FAT (File Allocation Table). While flashing Ranju's ROM, one has to flash Ranju's Empty ExtROM so that one can write it and have it not erased upon soft reset.

Though, this is not usually the case. But if one's device FAT is not working properly, than one need to use MTTY with the command, "task 28 55aa".

first of all, I must to say thank to Mr.PhamQuang for your rom!
But when I install diamond rom! I think it is not stable inspite of quick speed!
many program were error!
I've just up to PDV 2.61.27 ROm!

i m facing a problem that my on call voice on the fone is kindda f***d up ! wen eva i attend a call or weneva i call elswhere the voice in the fone is tooo feeble to hear n wen i switch on the speaker fone it works well.. is any one els facing this issue as well ?

Anybody know how to do this?

For me, it fails on the ImgfsToDump stage, with lots of overlapping files.

Seems like there must be a different tool that can extract these ROMs properly.

i got screwed up by hard-spl 1.38 rom update from Olipro team....i won;t be able to upgrade to 1.93 rom.

what can i do
here is the problem


 ERROR [262, 276, 284, 302] : UPDATE ERROR

This error occurs during the CE ROM code upgrade process.

Solution: If this happens, you can just soft-reset the device and run RUU again. The update process will then continue.

Note: At this stage, the Wince is destroyed; instead, it is in upgrade mode.
