ROM Graphics Testing Tools...

With all the new roms coming out & the emphasis on gfx & gfx testing, I thought it'd be nice to have a centrl thread for testing & for tools used to test.

I find that SPB bench mark can be unreliable for specific graphics testing. I have used a tool called GXMark for 6 or 7 years that is a great GFX Bench Marking Tool. What do you use?

It has a nice interface & gives you a great deal of visualization, where you can see the glitches & skips in frames as well as numerical data to compare roms with.

Ive used vsbenchmark on a few 6.1 roms but they seem to be inconsistent.

I agree about spb. Ive run it twice in a row on the same rom in the same state and recieved different results.

This test, GXMark, relly has a focus on 3D type graphics. I've used SPB, VS & a few others & I think tey all give a decent representation of the general performance of a device, but I like using individual items specific for each type of data.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am playing with it right now. I definitely like the interface ill post my humble opinion of it (not that im an expert) after ive played with a few days.

I also expect once mobile 6.1 becomes more widely used we may see some updates to some of the others such as vsbenchmark and spb to make them more accurate

1588 seems to be the average number for any tilt device. You can affect this by pressing the touch screen or buttons. I usually average it after 5 tests.

I'm not sure if its really reliable as i done checks on my roms and I everytime i get the same score 1588, on all of my roms, sometimes get a 1674 score then back to 1588 after a reset

Same here. 1588 with the newest L26 ROM (Diamond) and the HTC ROM for the netherlands...
