Hello,
I was cooking a new French ROM but I have a problem.
When I get my ROM cooked and the Prophet start, it freeze at the third splashscreen with start bar.
Welcome.exe isn't launched but after few minutes, keyboard may be active.
I don't see where is my problem : there are no errors with BuildOs, all was good like my previous ROM...

Can i complete you please (cause i've tested it too) :D

On my prophet, it's not really a freeze at startup (direct to taskbar, without align screen) But it start in portrait and we must click on the screen on landscape mode (sorry if I'm not understandable) :o

I've tried to search but there's no parameters and only 2 programs "windows média" and "task manager"

Maybe it help ;) Sorry for my bad english ^^

I think you'll need to create an initflashfiles.dat line that copies a shortcut to "Startup" for welcome.exe...

I can explain this if necessary, but I'd guess you know what to do better than me...

In fact Welcome.exe isn't really the problem, we cote it for delimitate what step in the Rom startup is touched.
So I don't understand where is the problem, it's not a kitchen problem like lolo would say, i've test with no modification (Wwe and it run).
All my MUIs are from french cooked WM6.1 roms, not the problem.

I'll test some configurations...and flash, re-flash.
If you've an idea or if you allready have this problem, I need you ;)

Try using "G'Reloc" to allocate all the modules to set places so there is no conflict... Might help with the loading process.

Ok, finally I've got it to start, so no need G'reloc.

My explaination is that WM6.1 MUI's have predetermined working folders (eg. : "Start Menu" is "Menu Démarrer") but from my first ROM I don't touch initflashfile.dat and it work. With WM6.1 initflashfile MUST be changed in the same time as MUI.

So thank you anyway for your help :D

That didn't even occur to me, but seems logical now I come to think about it...

Hello everyone,
I've a nex problem with my ROM cooking, in fact I have an icon in settings that I don't say from where it is created.
See the screen capture (upper left) :

So after search and search I've found from where the icon file is from : It's from "\SYS\FWUPDATE" package and historyui.cpl file but if I delete this file, my Prophet don't start at all, freeze at IPL/SPL splashscreen.
So how can I override this problem ?

I think you'll have to G'Reloc it! If when you remove it, it fails to boot up, it's normally to do with modules/dlls overlapping.

Unfortunately, in the ROM dumps I have, I haven't got an FWUpdate pack... No idea why!

I think maybe you need to include the exe you removed, but it may need some registry entries for it! I'll quickly look at those for you!

Nothing for setting link in my initflashfile, all by cpl and provxml files.

Nothing for Windows Update but it seem that all *.CPL files are automaticaly installed in settings menu.

I've 2 another question that I don't have chance with :
1- In my HTC Home Today Plugin the shorcut for backlight intensity doesn't work, do you know if we need a special file for WM6.1 ?
2- I've added an application (SMS Tweaker) to the settings menu, I've only the application name but no icon. For that I've modified the MXIP_OEM_TRANSLATION ... .provxml with
for the total number of applet :

If you want to see my FWUPDATE folder, just look into the Diamond ROM, it's the same not same file version but same registry (same GUID in HKCR in the rgu) and file list is the same too.

1- In my HTC Home Today Plugin the shorcut for backlight intensity doesn't work, do you know if we need a special file for WM6.1 ?

I've never managed to get that to work properly, so I'd suggest removing it...

2- I've added an application (SMS Tweaker) to the settings menu, I've only the application name but no icon. For that I've modified the MXIP_OEM_TRANSLATION ... .provxml with
for the total number of applet :

If you look at how the other items are formed (in the default.hv file) it may show how to get the icons...

One point though, if you edit the initflashfiles to not move SMS tweaker to \\Program Files... you will get more space (the initflashfiles just copy the file, they don't then remove the original :(). Ideally, you could put the exe in the ExtROM and have the paths pointed to that.

The diamond ROM is refusing to let me dump it ATM :(

I can help you for that ;)
for nbh to nb files, use Dutty's nbh tool (normally for Trinity) and after take the last Tadzio tools and use NBDumpKaiser.bat script, all will be dumped. In final, just use pkgtools to make OEM and SYS distribution . :D
But not really fantastic all is in 192DPI :(

I continue to search for my cpl problem but there is no really results on search function.

I managed to dump the Diamond ROM manually, but then my Hard drive died (it was a spare one though...) and now it won't dump proplerly... I'll try tadzio tools now!

The first one is called "Domain Enroll" and the second one is "Managed Programs" (ofcourse in English).

In the registry, (default.hv I think) search for HTCPL, and ControlPanel...

Look for the items Rondol1 named!

Alternatively, you'll have to search all of your ProvXML files for those...

This WM 6.1 make me crazy...

3. When I read the message
I've managed to remplace all html and and css from another ROM and result is the same. In the third screen I can write in the bottom box :confused: I've removed SMS Tweaker from my OEM selection for the same result.
If anyone have a solution or indication.

ve managed by replacing FWUpdate and FWUpdate_lang... to get "Managed Programs" working

Only Notes, Domain Enrolment and the Taskmager wont be solved on this way.
