How can I change ringtones and alerts for different contacts?

I would like to setup some contacts so they have a different ringtone when they call and a different alert sound when they send a text message. I am using a Titan (VZ 6800) with WM6.1 with the DCD Rom. Any idea how I can do this?

Go into "Contacts".

Go into (edit) the contact person of the person, one of the field is Ringtone, just select whatever ringtone you want.

You can do this one by one for all the contacts.

can anyone point me to the direction of a software to use....

i used to use Bitpit for 8100

id load an actual song cut a 30sec clip and load into my phone via blue tooth
for my 6700 i would just save the file into my sd card and drop in the windows folder...

now i tried to use a newer version of bitpim and it wont even let me make ringtones...so can anyone help me find a software to make my ringtones like my olden days :o
