This was an older ideea of mine..Just imagine: after the thief had stollen your phone, you could remotelly activate call forwarding on your other number and all the calls which were supposed to be received (intended) by the thief are insted received by YOU..You can talk to the friends of the thief and also know their numbers,so you can actually find their identities(also you can go to police and give them this information..like their phone numbers, and the thief will be identified and caught)

@Joubert : is there any chance to give this kind of remote forwarding to RT, ONLY if a special(given) defined number calls the "thief"? I need this functionality for other purposes..like not to let someone known to me to be able to call my wife..

Yes, the original idea was yours. It's in my list yet. I'll research a little today.

About your specific question, I really don't know. May be the iSecretary can do that.

You can take a look at the solutions found in MagiCall ..they have found a way to call forward only if specific numbers call. And in general they have a lot of actions possible specific to some user-defined numbers
A interesting feature is call filtering to outgoing calls,also.. You can restrict outgoing calls only to some that you allow..

Do you have a password? If so, the 'secret' command should send that password to you. Please send the log again to me.

Joubert

The password is set to 1234

I send the sms like this rt2#secret,celica#7875999999#

Now I received "Password does not matc. Batttery: 81-100%

Thanks!!!!!

Hi joubertvasc,

thanks for that great App!! (Made just a litle donation) I am testing it on my HD2.
GPS localisation works fine, but the change of the SIM card is ignored by RT.

A suggestion: The Localisation SMS is a little longer than 160 charcters, so 2 SMS were send. Maybe you could shorten it a few bites? i.e. Lat. (Latitude) and Lng, (Logitude), Bat. inst. of Battery.

Greetings

I tested the last version with 2 phones for the SIM change:
on HTC Diamond the SIM change works and I receive the SMS
Samsung Omnia II (i8000) the SIM change was NOT notified by sending the SMS

the file \temp\smslauncher.debug.txt is not generated even after 3 phone reboots

I think the algoritm of recognising have to be a little more tested? This IS the most important part of RT functionality.. I already had 1 mobile been stealed and not able to recover it..

I'm working on that message. Because the several translation is very hard to keep it into justo one message for all of them. I'll do it for english at least.

About the SIM card changes, please check the debug option and take a look if the smslauncher.debug.txt file will be created in your temp folder. I'm suspecting some devices are not starting that application automatically after a cold boot.

Please take a look in HKLM\INIT key in your registry. You should find some Launchnnn value with \program files\configurations\smslauncher.exe string.

You are not the first user with that problem on Omnia... The lastest version should fix that making a regular link on \windows\startup folder, but I can't test it because I don't have that device.

Do i understand that right: There has to be a SMSlauncher.ink in the autostart folder?

No and Yes.

No because the smslauncher should be started by a key in the registry: HKLM\Init.

But, in lastest version, after create the subkey (launch99 or so), RT will verify if the subkey is there. It's redundant, but some Omnia users told me that subkey didn't exists and no errors was reported in debug file. So, I suspect it's some Omnia specific issue and if the subkey didn't exists, RT will create a lnk in startup folder.

Using INIT or STARTUP have the same result. But the first method is more hidden than the second one.

There already was a Launch99 with \program files\configurations\smslauncher.exe string in my Omnia II ,but SIM change notification was not working, despite that.
And I did the tests with your last version,also..(from yesterday...unless you put another version there yesterday..)

Joubert, the commands that are using email sending are not working on my phone, only those that are using SMS reply works... Please try to verify, maybe in the last version you have changed the email sending relay and something is not sending OK

About the eganf command: please do not limit the number of calls records to be sent, but instead try to make an option for user to choose interval of sending:For example, maybe I am interested in a 32th call record(because in that day there were many conversations, but I know from the eganfl command, exactly what conversation I am interested in>>) So I can choose to retrieve conversations ranging from 20 to 40 ,if you want to limit the max size of the attachement
This way I can listen to my important conversation even if after it there were made another 20 small phone calls

In my second phone(Omnia) I found also all the response messages UNSENT in the Outbox of outlook.Strange is that all the messages were 1K file size..so this could not be the reason for not sending them automatically> After I did an Send& Receive command from Outlook, all the messages were sent to my email..
I think I know the bug: RT is not capable of opening data connection on my Omnia II (that's why all my emails are unsent in the outbox, untill first manually synchronization, which is capable of automatically open a GPRS/3G connection)..Is there another way of starting data connection on Omnia i8000 ?

I just successfully created a [mostly] working OEM package and cooked it into my ROM. The one problem I can't solve is getting RTRemote to do a local test (with no phone number). It will do tests with a phone number, but when I try to do a local test it tells me that Remote Tracker is not installed. I tracked down every registry key and file related to RT I know of but I must be missing something.

I also tested SIM card notification with my wife's SIM and it worked like a champ.

It would be great if you could give us cooks a little more info on how RT works. I'd like to be able to fix the issue of RTRemote not thinking RT is installed. Can you tell me what it looks for when it about to do a local test?

In that case you are using an e-mail command (started with 'e') and using a phone number. You should define an e-mail address. Something like that:

This key is in my registry in the wright path, like you told..but still RT is sending me back an email with the message that Vito Audio Notes is not installed(after I send eganfl command) with version 1.38

EDIT: I uninstalled version 1.38 and I installed back v. 1.37 Audio Notes and everything is working now...Maybe the newest version AN is not compatible with RT?

Can you send me a screen shot of that key tree?

It's very confused because I write some hidden registry with my cryptography routine. But, it should works after you run Config application.

Joubert

But in a cooked ROM all of the configuration needs to be pre set. The point is that if someone steals your phone and hard resets it, the phone will come back up with RT working. We can't rely on the phone theif running config for us. ;)

I tried running config and applying my configuration on my phone with RT cooked in but RTRemote still says that RT is not installed. I'd love to know what it is looking for.

I actually accomplished the important part - when my phone comes up after a hard reset I am able to receive responses from RT and SIM card change notification works. It's just the problem with RTRemote. This problem is not a show stopper, but I'd love to be able to figure it out..

I'm not sure how familiar you are with how ROMs are made, but one issue with cooking apps into ROMs are the file names. When cooking a ROM every file in the ROM starts out in the \Windows directory. This means that every file in a ROM must have a unique file name. If a program contains file with common names, they may conflict with files from other programs in the rom. I've actually found on file from RT that exists in another package in my ROM - "SetupDLL.dll". It's possible to get around this by renaming the files (e.g., rt_SetupDLL.dll) and then copying them to another directory with the initflashfiles.txt config file, but this wastes space as you end up having to duplicate files.

With my current RT OEM package I made it so RT is installed in the Windows directory. I just changed all of the registry keys that pointed to \\program files\\xxx to \\windows\\xxx.

I cannot send you now,but I checked and the registry keys are exactly the same with versions 1.37 and 1.38..Anyway,I'm sticking with vers 1.37,because it is working..

What is your decision about eganf command?Could you try to implement that option to retrieve the first 20 calls,or the second group(of 20 call records),or the third group(of let's say 20 call record) etc ? This way we can get the call record that we need, even if after it there are made another 25 calls..and the pocket outlook will not be blocked because is trying to send a big attachement

Try: rt2#rst##<password>

Joubert

I've tried the following commands:

rt2#rst##1234

rt#rst##<1234>

rt2#rst##<1234>

rt#rst##1234

Obviously my password matches and it's not 1234 but for the purpose of this demonstration 1234 was used. Sometimes I used "<>" and sometimes I didn't. Either way, nothing worked.

By the way, these attempts have been through the internet and not a cell phone. Does that matter?

fokus

In that case you are using an e-mail command (started with 'e') and using a phone number. You should define an e-mail address. Something like that:

rt2#egp#someone@someaddress.com#1234

Take a look in your emergency numbers/e-mails.

Hello Joubert, and thank you for a very good update to a useful and solid program. The new CellID feature together with GoogleMaps is my new favorite. Even cooler would be a realtime GPS and/or CellID update over the internet with Google Maps, though you probably need a server for that.... Oh well, the program is absolutely great as it is.

Could not read the file '\Program Files\Configurations\french.xml'. Error : System.XML.XML Exception : Un message d'erreur est disponible mais il ne peut être affiché. Then they advice me to install NETCFv35.Messages.FR.wm.cab...

If in configuration, I delete french.xml and rename "English.xml" in "French.xml", it works, (but it's in english).

Do you think it's an XML problem (french) or a framework version problem?

Thankssss !

I think I have found a small bug in the latest version. When I send rt#egp, the reply is missing the time in the timestamp.

For example:

Cell ID: xyz, Location Area Code: xyz Network Code: x, Country Code: 262
Lat: 53,xx (53d xx")
Lone: 10,xx
(10d xx")
Satellite count: 7
Time: den 19 januari 2010
http://www.google.com/maps?q=[removed]

Bat: 81-100%

Only the date shows in the timestamp, but not the time.
My Windows Mobile is in English, but my localization settings are set to Swedish.

what the command is to send thugs with baseball bats to reclaim my stolen phone... :Dthis is an interesting point. Has anyone got any stories about RemoteTracker being recovered? I mean, which police forces in which countries would take a RemoteTracker gps text seriously and go there? I guess in UK, it would be *more* illegal to batter a couple of peoples doors down and storm the building looking for the phone, than it is for them to steal the phone in the first place..

Maybe this has already been written in the thread, but for anyone who uses S2U2, it is import that you use the latest version of S2U2 and add rt.exe and SMSLauncher.exe to the exceptions list. To add these files, check the settings for S2U2. Also, make sure S2U2 doesnt shut off the power, and configure RT to use the windows managed GPS.

If you do not do this, the device will shut down before rt.exe has aquired a GPS fix. If this happens, rt.exe will hang and you will not be able to send any more commands. At least, that is what happens on my X1 with WM6.1.

Suggestion for Joubert: maybe rt.exe can be made more standby-mode resistant? If somebody shuts down the device (just puts it in standby with the power button) while rt.exe is running, rt.exe will hang and never shut down. preventing the processing of any more commands.

New feature: WEB configuration. It will work for people with RemoteTracker cocked into your custom ROM. Now you can save yours known SIM cards, emergency numbers and e-mails on the web. Thanks to Binary64 for his server/API!!
If you have the cocked ROM with RT and someone hardresetted your lost device, RemoteTracker will search for a local backup of your configurations. If that backups are not available, RT will connect to the internet and download the previous informations you sent to the web. So, if the thief changed the SIM card you will be notified by SMS.

How to use it?

- Click Menu/Web/Create Web Account. Type your e-mail and password. Click Confirm;
- Click Menu/Web/Send Configuration.

You can test removing RemoteTracker without keep your configurations. Reinstall the app and softreset it. I hope it will work (for me worked at least).

I tried downloading and installing the last 2 versions you posted on my HTC Pure Stock Room. I tested it sending different commands from my e-mail to my phone using rt and rt2. But every time I do that nothing happens. I checked my messages and there is no messages at all. I check the log and there was no activity. I noticed after using the program my phones doesn't allow me to access my text messages directly from TouchFlo main screen. I thought there was something wrong with my phone, so I sent a regular message from my e-mail to my phone and it worked. Somehow every time I send a command I don't get anything at all. Any suggestions?

to read the data from my server it uses hashed IMEI as a key

to write the data to my server requires your original username and password to be successful.

don't use either latest beta (for this webservice feature anyway) - it has a bug still. it wont matter if you do try it, when a new version comes out simply re-store the info again and it'll be ok. the bug is jourbert is sending a + in a url-encoded string, which gets decoded as a space, so the mobile number becomes corrupted. replace + with %20 first.

Hi Joubert,

i wonder how RT knows - after a hardreset - for what data it should seek on the binary64 server? All personal data are gone after hardreset.
Are you using the MAC-Adress ore what?:confused:

Hi! You should receive your emergency informations only. Not your full configuration. Try to change your SIM card to any unknown card to see if you will receive the SMS in your emergency number. Joubert

yeah, after joubert releases next version, can someone submit their info to server, power off, remove sd/mmc, put a different (theifs) sim card in, hard reset, install rt, run rt... does emergency contact get a text or not?

rt.dll is not a dll, it's just text.. but no, no chef has cooked RT into a rom yet where the RT is binary64-server aware, since the feature only came out less than 24 hours ago :P

i'm hoping that the chef i use (Leancut by ironeagle) decides to cook this new support, otherwise my own efforts wont be helping myself :P

the interesting thing about the way this webservice api works, is that other tracking software could also use my database if they wanted (pm me for an api key if needed).. even like an iphone app maybe.

feedback for the GUI of latest remotetracker web config:

1. terms of service - annoyingly slow that it loads a website, can you just paste the text into a MultiLine TextBox?
2. can't see the password textbox; it's hidden by softkeyboard (maybe use c#'s inputpanel)
3. if create an account with no internet connect, it all freezes for 60 seconds (maybe use a background thread, and 3 re-tries)
4. return the server error if given, instead of 1 error for all scenarios

looking good,

I'll see what I can do, but for item 4 the server always answer in english and that's a problem for a multi-language app. We could create error codes.

I tried your latest beta. I installed it without any problems. But when I sent a command to my phone, it froze. I don't know what's going on. Is it something wrong with my phone? It seems it's working for everybody else.

I have a crasy(?) idea - don't know, wether it is possible:
If you could read out the unic mac-adress of the device all settings could be saved under this ID on binary64's server. You whould not have to implement your personal data into the ROM. After hardreset all setting could be restored save from there.

So RT could be implemented in any ROM without personal settings.
I am wrong?

So everybody can use RT in ROM.

What du you think?

binary64
22nd January 2010, 10:40 PM
@fokus: that is the whole idea already; but why use MAC when you can use IMEI? Both are unique and personal to the device. Plus MAC is usually software-changable, IMEI is not.

Ok. I thought the IMEI depends on the SIM card.
Do i understand it right - i don't need to cook any personal data into the ROM?

Hi!

Another beta in http://remotetracker.sourceforge.net/RemoteTracker.CAB

In this beta I'm using the errors codes from binary64 and the message will show exactly what is wrong when you are sending your informations.

The eganf commands accept an extra parameter to make a limit of files to send:

rt#eganf,5#mickey@mouse.com#1234

I did some tests and rt is not sending audio notes in absolute chronological order,so if I say to send the last 10,the one that I'm looking for may not be sent
A second observation..: if I want to retrieve an older audio note...let's say the last 40th audio note,I will not be able to..because if I say to retrieve 40 the outlook will be blocked(it will try to send the whole 40 last notes.) Could you make a way to retrieve only the bunch of audio notes that are to interess?
Thank you

It would be nice to be able to just send my device this 1 easy-to-remember command:

rt#password

and it puts the device into "panic" mode where it does everything;

* Wipes contacts (except those flagged using outlook.pim.properties to stay put)
* Uploads all audionotes that have a 'A' attribute set oldest-first. And continue to upload new audionotes as they appear
* Silently queue and retry operations, to use data/wifi when the opportunity arises
* Tracks gps using kml every 1 minute, and uploads the log in chunks
* Send small data first (eg gps before audionotes)
* Automatically forward incoming messages, call logs, sim change events as they arrive. it should try emailing it (even with outlook not set up), else forward as a SMS
* When connected to wifi, send IP address to me
* New files created sent on

then i am presented with more of a "live view" of what is happening. the RT commands sent then change into a context of performing actions, rather than requesting data tediously.

in other words, use a push model instead of poll.

Hi Joubert,

Been testing Remote Tracker V0.4.1-1 and I have to say that I'm very impressed, the software works well and I like the FTP ability built in.

1 bug and 1 question.

Bug - I used remotetracker in "visible" mode yesterday which worked well, SMS's were being intercepted and I was quite happy. Today, put it in hidden mode and it stopped responding to SMS's after the reboot. I poked around and found that rt.exe was missing from the \windows\ folder so I extracted rt.exe from the cab and put it in the windows folder, rebooted and everything is working again. Is there a bug which didn't copy rt.exe across?

Question - My goal is to cook RemoteTracker into my custom ROM, but I want RT to be hidden after a hard-reboot using my custom settings. RTRegCreator doesn't have a hidden mode from what I can see, is the .dll generated set to automatically do this on first boot? If not, should I manually adjust file locations etc for hidden mode?

Thanks!

I've just thought, a chef releasing a custom rom would have to set a password, this means it'd be one password for everybody (not very secure!).. so, can you think of a way around this? perhaps a new parameter saved to server for phone password? it could be different to the service password..

Been using your software until I upgraded my TP to a TP2 w/6.5 and new TF3D. New version intercepts sms correctly w/ RT2 and after exceptions added to S2U2, it send the map to my email with egp. Thanks!

However, I get english.xml errors (and french.xml when I changed languages) in lines 247 and 238 respectively. The error msg pops up when the command is being intercepted and requires clicking "ok" so not so subtle...

Cheers and thanks for all your hard work!

EDIT: Found the typo in the english xml on the specified line and edited it. Message doesn't appear any more. Assume there's one in the French one as well...

Hi! I need to pay more attention when I paste text from Google Languages :)

I uploaded a new version: http://remotetracker.sourceforge.net/RemoteTracker.CAB

For all: In this version I fixed the translations file and I started two new commands: RC and CR.

The first command will redirect calls to a desired number. The command needs special parameter:

rt#rc,<new number>##<password>

The last command will cancel the first one.

But, I was researshing the call-diverts function and it's not equal for all of mobile operators. So, I added a new interface to configure that command in Menu/Options/Redirect Calls. You must find that informations from your provider and type it there.

Please note: that command doesn't worked for me. I still don't know why, but if I type the number everything works. If I use the WM API to make a call, it doesn't. I'm looking for a solution, but if you try and works for you, please tell me.

You will not find rt.exe after Hide it. It was renamed with a random function. I'm not sure what was wrong and I'll try again.

Unfortunatelly I can't make it from RTRegCreator tool. But you can add to your ROM a custom set of files, not the entire CAB. You will need all DLL and EXE files. Don't forget to set the keys correctly.

Hi!

The Account option will be used to send answers by e-mails. But who will receive that answers? The one defined in Recipient/E-Mail parameters. This is to prevent you from having to specify the e-mail in all commands you send.
I'm working to change that and don't use outlook to send e-mails. Not sure if it will be done for next version or for future versions.
About the 'super' command, it is in my TODO list already.

In that beta I was trying to use USSD commands. For call forward we need a command like: *21*nnn# where nnn is your number. To configure RT you need to type {0} to specify where the number should be replaced. So, if you type: *21*{0}# and send the command rc,12345678, RT will send the USSD command: *21*12345678#.

BUT!! In my tests the USSD commands always return UNKNOWN APPLICATION. In my researchs it's some kind of bug in WM API. I should use LineForward API function, but I can't use it yet. Every example I found didn't work.

I'm not sure yet, but I think I'll give up that commands because I'm busy now.

I recently installed this and tested the anti-kidnap feature. If I may make a suggestion or two...
1- instead of needing a soft reset to shut off, make it so that a button is pressed and a password is entered. This way the feature cannot be stopped without you expressly stating it by entering a correct password...otherwise anyone can shut it off--whether you want it shut off or not.
2- is it possible to create a stand-alone of the above feature? And if so, can it be configured to dial people on any phone, not just text someone. I have several land-
line emergency contacts but only 2 who have text plans on their cell. Perhaps there can be a config feature that comes up on caller ID as *name/emergency help needed*

I am a severe asthmatic and would love to use this feature as a way to contact someone for help when it is too difficult to speak.

Thank you for all your hard work you have put into this program!!

I've been testing the latest version posted at remotetracker.sourceforge.net. I works pretty well. But, I noticed a lot of times it shows the wrong location. Some times it's just off by a short distance, let's say within the same city. But last night I used RemoteTracker and when I got a response it showed my phone was somewhere in New York, US. But I live on the other side of the country, 2,789 miles away.

I tried tried all the providers: OpenCellId, Google Maps, and CellDB. But I don't get an accurate location consistently.

Any suggestions? Could there be another program installed in my phone interfering with RemoteTracker?

Thank you in advanced!

RT just send to you the answer that webservices sent to the application. Because they are a database, the precision will depend what information they have.

There seems to be a bug in RTRegcreator. The tables with the languages is missing, resulting a the inability to select language during rt.dll creation. This causes rt.exe to crash because to valid language xml file is loaded. I'll try to correct the source code but Joubert is probably faster if he has the time since I am not familiar with the source code yet.

edit:

Ok I found the error. RTRegCreator tries to load languages.xml from the same directory it is located. If the file is missing (which by default, it is!), RTRegCreator doesn't really give a meaningful error message. There was one, but Joubert commented it away ;).
So the solution is to copy languages.xml from the phone device to the RTRegCreator directory. You can find languages.xml under \Program Files\configurations on your device.

Thank you so much Joubert for this fantastic software! It is so great not only
because of beeing now already a world class soft used worldwide with very interesting, useful
and highly advanced features but also because of the way it is made; so many hours of work...with love!

Congratulations and Thanks for this gift and the way you are doing it!!! Also many thanks to all the people involved in this!

I am running the last version on a stock romed HD and the tested features work like they should:

- automatic advice once unknown sim is placed into the device !
- correct gps data back on command when device can fix gps !
- correct cellid back info on command when device is able to access internet !

(btw, that once who works for me is the "Google maps CellDB", the others do not work in my case, "OpenCellID" gives back value cero for lon and lat, and "CellDB" directly crashes the process with an undefined error msg saying s.th. like asking to install NETCFv35 while I have it already installed. Small bug?)

- call back command working perfectly, also when device is in sleep mode!
- alarm gets acivated on command when device is on, or once turned on if its in standby mode

Great thing.....! I also love the concept that it is not running continously but just gets activated on command receipt, I also have not obserevd any interference yet with other softn and I have a lot.

I have two questions, may be you or somebody else can help me:

1 - the alarm does no get activated when device is in sleep mode. Is this normal?

2 - I do not know if it is related with RT, but since I have installed it the screen where you have to input your pin no. during the starting of the device, is now always just shown a few seconds and than skipped so the device goes on loading without activating the sim, so I have to wait until all is loaded to than activate the sim afterwards. Does somebody know how to get to original status so the pin-screen is not skipped when initailizing the device?

Thanks again for this soft which is one of the bests, not only of its class !

Best wishes
Chris

Bug - I used remotetracker in "visible" mode yesterday which worked well, SMS's were being intercepted and I was quite happy. Today, put it in hidden mode and it stopped responding to SMS's after the reboot. I poked around and found that rt.exe was missing from the \windows\ folder so I extracted rt.exe from the cab and put it in the windows folder, rebooted and everything is working again. Is there a bug which didn't copy rt.exe across?

DP

The same here, everything went fine until I put it in hidden mode, afterwards the sms were not intercepted anymore (received as a standard sms) and commands where not caried out anymore.

I installed RT again, unisnstalled it, and installed it again leaving it in visible mode, it is working now again, but I wonder if this was the right way to solve it.

My be there is a way to make the hidden mode work properly on my device?

Thank you very much again for this fantastic software!

Just installed this on a new ROM.

1.
While adding the SIM card in the menu it showed my SIMno already. Great, but looking in the log file after replacing the SIM card it says "..no 1st number defined...". So it wasn't auto added. After manually doing it myselve it worked.

2.
To type in 3 SIM cards from our family, I have to restart 3x. Why can't I type them in?

Hope you understand the above. thx

Joubert, attaching the DLL module for call forward/cancel and a sample project. The projects are created in VS2008. The DLL has 4 functions exported;

LONG Initialize()
LONG ForwardCall(LPCTSTR lpszNumber,DWORD dwMode,int nSeconds)
LONG CancelForward()
LONG Shutdown()

All functions return a LONG value. The ForwardCall function takes 3 arguments, first is the number to which call has to be forwarded, second the mode of the call forward (it is one of the LINEFORWARDMODE_ value defined in TAPI.H) and third is the number of rings before a call is considered a "no answer."

The thing is you do not have to type in any sim no., you just have to go to "menu" once you are in the "sim cards" submenu and select
1 - autodetect
2 - confirm

That is how it works.

Well... it's great for people who don't have a data plan... ;)

Anyway... what I'd really love to see in the software would be:

Live notifications of outgoing/incoming calls and sent/received sms.

Remember that if a user is trying to catch some illicit activity the "perpetrator" might simply delete the calls/sms thus never showing when requested.. ;)

This is a feature I've seen listed in the Phone Creeper software and it would be a great addition to yours too!

hi all friends...

i recently format my sd card which i think rt.dll is located in the root of my storage card. once i format, i only load garmin and all necessary software back into it. and never put rt.dll back into the root of storage card.

now my problem is, once i reinstall the remote tracker. it prompt me for password instead. that is my first time launching it. i find 'rt.dll' in the whole device. only 1 rt.dll located in /program files/configuration

i tried to delete it. but it will prompt for password. so i reflash my rom. then install it back again. it still prompt for password.

i downloaded rtcreator. create a rt.dll, then put it into /program files/configuration. replaced the old rt.dll

then launch the config. it prompt me for password again. and i type in the password i put in rtcreator. it just keep on prompt 'password does not match'. any idea how to get rid of this?

thanks.

remote tracker is amazing, im quite looking forward to if my phone gets stolen and the thief puts their sim in. message id send their mobile number (cos my dads email (cant be mine as will notify them through my phone mobile outlook) is "please return to 'address' (post through letterbox if need to) or i shall have to inform the police of your gps location (which i have) and your sims contacts (which i have, mum will be their first call i would have thought), nice phone though isn't it". this app need a remote camera command so can see the look on the thief's face.

a must have app, alongside mylookout (antivirus/firewall, back up, nuke (same as myphone but free)), id say my phone is pretty much well protected in the free app department. was well happy to donate for remote tracker.

Hello all!

The version 0.4.2-0 was released. In this version we have a new option: WEB. RemoteTracker now have a web server (thank's to Binary64).

You can create an account in the server and send your emergency information to the server.

After a hardreset, RT will search for a configuration backup. If that backup can't be found, RT will get your emergency configuration from the web server. So, if the thief changed your card, you will be able to get the message alerting you about the changed SIM. The informations sent to the web are: IMEI number, knows IMSI numbers, emergency phone numbers and emergency e-mail address.

This feature was designed to help ROM cockers to create generic custom ROMs without personal configurations.

Once again, please help the project making donations or clicking the banners on main web site.

Hi,

just installed this app, it's GREAT! Altho there's one problem, when I tell my phone to send an email with GPS info, it sends the info to my phone number instead of to my e-mail address. Does someone know what caused this? When I look under E-Mail configuration, I have Account: Gmail, Recipient: Arthur Edridge, E-Mail: my e-mail address, and Subject: Phone

I don't get it why it would send the file to my phone number through an e-mail client. I got an email by the serverhost saying that they couldn't sent the e-mail to the specified address (my phone number)...

Someone any ideas?

In response to "Audionote list e-mail" command I received an email only with battery status and empty Incoming calls and Outgoing calls list(and I know the logs were not empty)
The same happened with ganfl command(returned an sms with empty incoming and outgoing list)
EDIT:
Problem solved with reinstalling the latest Vito Audionotes..It seems the program got corrupted

Also,I have got the same error with get gps position command as others:
I received some positions, but after the target phone has reached a zone without gps signal(has entered in a building) I get the last position received(even if it's 70 km far away from the actual position)
It seems like a buffer and it's not switching to calculate the location from cell ID database, instead is sending the last known GPS position again

Then "WEB Create an account".
I enter a mail and a password and it says "Impossible to create a new account. Plz, check that you are already registered (where then?) and that you are connect (I am!)

Thank you.

Did you add all dll files? JVUtils, JVGPS, OpenNETCF.*.DLL, tapi and commondll?

Where can I download these dll's??? I've searched the whole internet but couldn't find them anywhere.

Hi !

I just have a newbie doubt.

To flash remote tracker in a rom for Leo, I downloaded the package to add, and I made the .dll and the .rgu file.

What should I do with both of these files in oskitchen ?

Best regards, and congrats for the excellent work.

The cellid command returns "c" for me!?

CellID c LAC c MNC c MCC c...

TrackMe shows the CellID. What is going wrong?

I'm using SGH-i200 with WM6.1 Standard.

Hi Joubert,

I don't know if this has been asked already, but I would appreciate if you could clarify:
In theory is it possible for you to rename opennetcf.*.dll files to something unique like JV.opennetcf.*.dll (or whatever you think is best)?
The reason for this is that when RT is cooked into rom and left in windows folder it causes problems with other applications that also use opennetcf.*.dll files and most of them try to use the latest version, hense some apps are crashing.
I understand that there is solution in copying all RT files into separate folder, but this is not space friendly and kind of less secure.

Having unique names seems to be a much better way out. What do you think?
Thank you in advance.

Hello

I'm having a problem with T-Mobile (US) version of HD2 (WM 6.5, WVGA).
Installation went fine and after initial config I decided to do "Options->Hide RT"
When I did that, it gave me exception:

Config.exe

at System.IO.File.Delete(String path)
at JVUtils.Utils.ForceCopyFile(String source, String copyto)

at Config.Config.HideRemoteTracker()
....

I tried to soft-reset and rerun Config. Same problem :(
What do I do now ?

Hy.

Really cool software what you´ve created.

I´ve noticed that the Java Application for easy Command sending is not compatible with the HD2 Commandos.
Is it possible to get a ned version of the java handy tool?

Hello Joubet,
I have a question: when I'm cooking the remote tracker in my rom (omnia i8000), an error appears saying that Build the config.xml file already exists. The other file with this name is a configuration file from the samsung omnia i8000. So if I leave only the latter, excluding the config.xml remote tracker it will work normally? which the function of this file (believe we will be informing the version of RT).

Yes Resco Explorer Shows me all.

But i´ve notices that on the Hiding Process went something wrong.

If i sent a Commant the Message appears: Cant find rt.exe or Cant Start.

Maybe thats the fact that i can found nothing.

My Rom is the Goatrip 4.2 on HD2 Leo maybe thats the reason but it shouldn´t be.

I Installed the latest version on my custom rom (0.4.2-0) but there's no dutch language?
I have HTC Artemis running a custom dutch (NLD) rom wm6.5.3.

Edit: after some testing, most functions work (as far as I tested) but locking did not work.

Is there a list of features which are confirmed to work on wm6.5.x?

(I also tested sprite terminator, that one will lock succesfully.)

Greetings people

After installing RemoteTracker to my TP, I started getting this error:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686367

I've narrowed down to RT because this is the only application I didn't install after my last "clean" backup, and up to now I haven't experienced any problems.

I'm -not- accusing RT of anything, I would just like to know if it is possible, with the way this app works, that it could induce an error like this.

I will let you know if this turns out to be a false alarm :D

Hi All,

Looking to cook this app in my ROM, but have some questions, First being using the RTTegCreator app, surely I need to add some more fields as there is no-way that I can see that the app will launch until the time it is launched for the first time.

Secondly I have extracted the cam with cabtooem app is this ok?

Better still does anyone have a working package?

sprint touch pro2 stock 6.5 rom

downloaded latest version (42) and cannot get it to install. not to the main memory or storage card.
the installer goes through the progress bar then, with progress bar full i get an error and the app uninstalls itself again and the installer tells me installation was unsuccessful. the error tells me that retrieving some directory names failed.

the app looks awesome and i can't wait to get it up and running.

I'm italian and my device is htc touch2.Today I installed remote tracker I changed sim to verify it without result so I re-inserted the allowed sim:
I started rtconfig, I entered my password (i'm sure about it because I always use it in all application) but remote tracker tells me "password doesn't match". So I sent an sms rt#"secret,[my secret answer]" (I'm sure about it because it's my father's name) but the replay is "password doesn't match. bat :61-80%".
what can I do? I don't want to hard reset my device.

Hi, firstly, @OP, fantastic software, really impressive. Ive been recommending it for months.

Secondly, for people trying to cook it in to make it hard reset safe, i've just spent around 4 hours and a good dozen or so cooking cycles to get it right, so I thought id detail what i did, since I couldnt for the life of me find a step by step guide online.

I'm pretty sure I went about it the long way around, but heres what I did.

1 - downloaded remotetracker.cab
2 - I used CAB_Converter to convert the cab to an EXT package, and into that folder i dropped rtregcreator.
3 - run regcreator and set up how you want it.
4 - since we are making an EXT package, we only need the rt.dll file. Take the dll and move it somewhere. I then deleted the EXT package folder.
5 - Open remotetracker.cab in wincecab manager, added the rt.dll file, and in the shortcuts section created a link from startup to smslauncher.exe
6 - Create the key HKLM\Software\JV Software\Common with name "RT 0" and string value of 28 April 2010 (the day before the day my rom thinks it is whenever I hard reset)
7 - save the cab
8 - use CAB_Converter again to create the EXT package, cook your rom, and hey presto, cooked in and hard reset safe.

There is no link to config created in start menu, , if you want one, create one in the shortcuts section using wincecab manager.

You could probably do the same without having to create the EXT twice, by editing the app.reg and app.dat files, but I had already done it this way by the time I realised this, plus I now also have a cab with my settings built in too as backup if i forget to copy out the EXT package next time I change kitchens.

To cut story short. My girlfriend phone which is less than month old lost it a few weeks ago. I installed this Remote Tracker on it. I like this software very much and it is free but I installed it just like the other programs. So I think the person who found it just hard reset it maybe because we did not receive any sms from that phone since then. I'm a newbie to this cooking my own ROM with Remote Tracker inside and I did cooked my own (some bugs on it) ROM but I really preferred using some of our great Chefs here who cooked great and excellent HD2 ROMs. The problem is....I can't cook Remote Tracker in their ROMs as it doesn't allowed and protected, so in this last few days I searched all the forums trying to find detailed instruction how to do it in vain but I have zero result. So I tried the other way around. How about installing it from the sd card silently after the hard reset? I did this also unsuccessfully many times as the Remote Tracker will ask the user input after hard reset (or the theft just in case it was stolen) to accept the License Agreement or some errors on the screen. Finally last night I did it.:D Here are the step by step guides how I did. Enjoy!

Step by step guide: (everyone is welcome to suggest for the newbie like me)

1. I love the Mirik & Dinik latest release v.17.6 ROM not only it is really beautiful in my opinion it has also this TOM's autoinstall cooked in. So I installed this in my phone then I made this folder "Apps" in my sd card, put my Remote Tracker cab downloaded from their website then installed it to my device memory. a.) Go to start menu, press Config then fill the necessary information on it the press "Apply Configuration". This action will create the rt.dll file in the sd card but it is hidden. So you must go to tools > folder options > view tab then select "show hidden files and folders" then click ok. Back to your sd card and you will see the rt.dll file. Copy it in your desktop, right click it then select properties, at "Attributes" uncheck the box in "Hidden" then click "OK". Back to the "Tools" at the SD card, this time click "Dot not show hidden files and folders" then click ok.

2. Now you need WinCe Cab Manager or similar program to edit the Remote Tracker cab. Copy Remote Tracker cab in paste it in your desktop. Launch WinCe Cab Manager and open the Remote Tracker. At the Cabinet tab, select "Files" then click "Add". At the desktop find the rt.dll file and click "Open" then click "Ok". Back to "Cabinet tab, select "Shortcuts" the click "Add". The New Shortcut Wizard will pop out, click "Next", at the "Name" box type "SMSLauncher", click "Next" then look for the "InstallDir SMSLauncher.exe", select it then click "Next". At the Shortcut Location click/highlight the "Startup" folder then click finish. Now for the registry, it is quite complicated for us specially for the newbie like me. What I did is... I copied one (or any) registry file in desktop, opened it with Notepad, deleted everything inside and replaced with this registry key.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\init]
"Launch99"="\\Windows\\SMSLauncher.exe"
"Launch150"="rtclean.mscr"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JV Software\Common]
"RT 0"="Monday, March 01, 2010"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Rules\ Configuration]
"Params"="/hide"
"PostProcess"=dword:00000001
"Command"="\\Windows\\rt.exe"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Rules\ Configuration\MessageFilter]
@="Body"
"CaseSensitive"=dword:00000000
"MatchType"=dword:00000006
"Value"="rt#"

Saved the file as "App" then at the WinCe Cab Manager, highlight the "Registry" the click "File" tab, then select "Import" then choose "Import Reg...", find the "App" file in desktop then click "Open" then "Ok". At the WinCe Cab Manager click the "Save" icon and close it. Now your Remote Tracker cab is ready for action!

3. In your sd card add new folder and name it Autoinstall. From the deskstop copy your modified Remote Tracker inside the Autoinstall folder. Hard Reset your HD2 and see if the Remote Tracker installed by itself and all your configuration by sending any command. Mine worked like a charm.

Many thanks to Joubert who made this wonderful application! I made this tutorial as there are not enough infomations on how to do it for the noobs like me. Many thanks also to Miri and Dinik for their excellent ROMs.
