From press release:
Google will perform a live demonstration of the Android mobile platform and associated prototype content applications in a keynote session at Australia’s premier mobile content event next Wednesday.
Android is the open mobile platform being developed by the Google-led Open Handset Alliance, the worldwide consortium of telcos, handset manufacturers and developers aimed at promoting openness in the mobile ecosystem.
Nicholas E. Heller, Google’s UK-based head of strategic partnership development, media and publishing, will open the conference with an overview of the search giant’s future strategies for the mobile space. “Google's mission is to organise the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. To that end, Google's mobile strategy is to focus on web based applications, provide super fast search and location based services.”
Now in its 4th year, Mobile Content World will feature over 50 local and international presenters. It is the only event in Australia where senior players across the mobile value chain come together to share knowledge and build a collective experience on how to create, deliver and monetise the potential of mobile entertainment services.
Leading mobile content practitioners from BigPond, Paramount, Fox Interactive Media, Yahoo!, Fremantle, Ninemsn, Fairfax Digital, News Digital, PayPal, 3, Optus and Vodafone will comment on the changing dynamics of the mobile value chain, the growing prominence of non-traditional mobile players, mobile commerce, mobile TV, the consumer experience, mobile social media and user generated content.
The boom area of mobile advertising will also receive dedicated coverage, with the event expanding into a separately bookable third day- the Mobile Advertising Day. Advertising and media agencies, alongside Australia’s media companies and operators, will discuss the ad-funded model, standards and formats. The session will also showcase successful mobile advertising campaigns from companies such as Ford.
Mobile Content World Australasia is famous for being the place where industry decision-makers come to do serious business in a seriously fun environment and is the only local mobile content event to be endorsed by AIMIA. The conference will take place from the 27th-30th May at Star City Casino.
