There are two ways to change the ROM date being shown in Device Information. One is a simple registry hack (very easy) and the other one, not so simple, involves Hex edition of the kernel nk.exe. In this post i'll mention the steps to edit necessary registry values and the hex editing of the kernel in next post.
In order to change the ROMDate being shown in Device Informtion, follow this procedure:
1. Go to HKLM\Software\OEM
2. Create new 'String' value named 'ROMDate' (without quotes)
3. In date field type the date that u want e.g. 27-May-08

This method involves the HEX editing of kernel, nk.exe. editing incorrect bytes in any way may make the phone non-bootable. therefore be careful with your steps ;). softwares needed for this guide are:
1. Any hex editor
2. A disassembler (like IDA Pro)
I would like to thank cmonex for the guidance in ROM date modification using this method.

Nah.. My fiancee is coming this weekend till end of year, so no XDA till 2nd Jan :( I'll miss you guys :(
But Ervius gave me an edited xip_out.bin. Haven't told me what he changed but will test it tonight and if it works then add to tutorials. He said he found something interesting in the Diamond nk.exe in IDA ;)

Well the registry worked on the Touch Pro.
I've added it to the OEMVersion proxml file now as default.
I've made it my policy to not get hexed ;)
