JUP deffinitely faster i think. The HTC logo at startup comes in fluently and not with stutters like before. But thats just the first graphic thing ...perhaps i am to exited :D :D :D

Just found a way to subscribe to HTC-eClub with an Orange TYTN II...
It seems we only need to replace the 5th char with a 5 instead of a 3 in the S/N...

The update manual talks about startup wiz, treaded sms, direct push 2, tech mail for pop3/imap3 accounts, email customized domains, making pop3/imap4 accounts, exchange server con., new navigation for Internett Explorer Mobile (zoom and navigate on while site + + ), bluetooth, wifi and systen center mobile device manager. Also the well known bether performance while direct play via RTSP. Bether dial notification when calling emergency numbers on pin screen. And that WMP will jump over licence stuff..

First look: Its faster.. Wery much faster than stock! You will notice this from the wery start on setup! And the radio is 1.65.16.25

Is there a workaround to flash my Kaiser? I get this message every time, it comes up when the upgrade is 1%, then the phone resets.

It is an unlocked HTC branded Kaiser:

Video driver isnt'fixed... it seems not to me.

You can acutally download the ROM from HTX site, don't forget to registrat your HTC *sn* :D
Or you will miss your option to download the ROM.

The driver issue still exists, at least there's minimal improvement according to VSBenchmark2007. My TyTN II went from scoring a 1497 to a 1522.

I bought a task and a recharger for my kaiser from the largest HTC supplier in Norway today, we talked briefly about the driver issue. The man I talked to is working on tech over there, he told me that they was about to release a set of drivers before february. Drivers not a software update like the one we got today, although I think its nice that HTC is cooking theyre own rom just as us. But really, we just care about the gfx drivers... I rather let the chefs @ xda do the cooking part :cool:

UPDATE: Does HardSPL have to be installed to put this upgrade on the Tilt? If so, what measures are there to go back to the factory SPL just in case I need to send it in.

just installed the update. After re-installing al my apps,i seem to be short of rom. previously i had all apps installed and had approx 90meg free, but with this version its droped to 70meg. I'm sure both had 118meg free before installing.

Available ram is lower too, so i guess they have changed page pool size??

Any thoughts on the lost space

I've installed pocket informant, resco file explorer, memaid, weather panel, pocket breeze, and phone alarm to internal rom, and the available rom has gone from 118 to 70MB - surely thats not right!!! I have installed some other apps on mem card, but i can't get the figures to stack up!

If you are in the US - there is no update yet that is officially released by AT&T. There are "cooked" ROMs that are pretty wonderful and most likely more wonderful than the "official" one will be. BUT - you will void your warranty (if that means anything to you) by installing them.

Before you run off and install one - make sure that you read more than you already have. (Wiki)

You can disable threaded SMS with Kaisertweak - or a registry editor, it's just a registry change.

There was an earlier post about changing the 5th digit of your Serial Number to a 3 when registering, this worked for me :)

You will then have a picture of your phone under Update.

I went to the htc e club and signed in and it said I was good for the upgrade. When I was all set and hit the button to start the download it comes up as a "can't open the page" error. So I instead follow the link to rapid share that someone posted. I download from there, no problem. Is that the same rom or not? It looked good. Couple a things tho. Last nite my tytn2 switches to vibe mode by itself during the nite. There is no longer the option to set the red end key to long press vibe switch. Also, sometimes I need to press certain keys more than once to get a response.
I've heard that it is best to do a hard reset right after a new rom install. I cannot do that either. I've followed every direction I know and it just goes into soft reset mode. Was wondering if that is part of my trouble. Not doing hard reset after install. So is the rapid share and the htc e-club rom's diff then? If this keeps acting buggy I'll try a diff rom again.
EDIT: I just discovered what puts my phone into vibe mode. The calendar alert. As soon as it comes on it goes to vibe no matter it's set for a tone. Also: another bug I noticed, The d pad no longer scrolls. I have to press it each time for it to move one space. This is tooo much. I'll be trying something else. Can someone tell me how to hard reset this thing? The normal method hold down soft keys, press button with stylus etc etc isn`t working no matter what combo I use.

EDIT: I went back to the htc e-club and was able to download using the euro option. I was using the usa option before . This is much more stable now and I haven't found anything to irritating yet. That file on rapid share is the same version , but it sure sucked for me. I'm glad to get this one up and running.

Pity the only download I get for the 23/5/2008 rom is the French 6.1 version

I had the same problem of not getting anything on the download page and then realised that although I had registered my product when joining, their system had not actually registered it because it wasn't an unbranded HTC product (it's a UK Orange serial number!!), but it didn't inform me at the time (although it does when you are a member and you try to register the product!)

Anyway I got round this by trying other numbers and ended up with Spanish, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian & eventually English WWE!!

My serial number started HT807####### which it wouldn't register but I then tried all the numbers from HT799 to HT819, eventually getting English in the end and all the others in the meantime. It may be that there are other languages if I went further than HT819, but I stopped there.

All I'm saying is try changing the same numbers on your serial number if you want to find your own language :)

Yeah I did disable it with KaiserTweak, but you did just say that backed up messages were jumbled so maybe it's just those messages that are screwed up. One other thing I didn't like was the radio. Whenever I'd restart my phone it'd take longer than normal to get to 3G. And it'd take longer than normal to just get a signal. The stock AT&T ROM radio (1.27.14.09) works very well for me.

Can't support that opinion. The camera is still as slow as it used to be. It still has the dark/light low FPS issue . From all the issues i would have thought HTC solved this one, but no.

But one another thing.. THEY REALLY HAD DONE SOMETHING ON THE DRIVER!!
i tried, and Direct3D now WORKS!!
sometimes ago i compiled the msdn direct3d tutorial application, and this didn´t work on the 'old' TyTN II.
But now, this works, but VERY VERY SLOW!!! ONLY 2-3FPS for drawing a cylinder and rotating this!! on my old Phophet and Artemis this run with about 20-30 FPS!!!!

None? Graphics performance is better little bit, especially when switching from landscape to portrait mode, but that's the end of it. Device is still slugish...

I had that same problem. Just install a different Home screen. That should fix it.

I bought my phone from Dubai,UAE and registered it successfully on HTC E-Club, But there is no Current Rom Update available there only a Rom Update which was released on 21st Feb 2008 is available nothing else. Hi - I too got this device from Dubai, and on the E-club there is only one update as mentioned by you. Were you able to get a new one ? Or did you download the one on the site ? I wanted to know if it is working fine, since the ROM I have is 1.81.415.4 WWE, dated 29 Oct 2007. Some problem I have with it is that the start button changes each time I use it for another function, and even when I return to the home screen, the button shows the name of the function that I used - will only change after I use the standby button the side.

I took the plunge and downloaded the ROM via the link from MoDaCo's site and installed it on my unlocked ATT Tilt It works like a champ. :D Pocket IE still sucks IMHO even with their little zoom deal, but hey I am happy with the upgrade.

newb here...what is the difference between this new rom and the kaiser 6.1 rom?

I just got a brand new Tilt and the system info says I already have the 1.65.502.00 version. Does that mean all I have to do to improve my phone is do a hard/soft reset to get rid of att bloatware?
Or is the HTC rom better than the ATT rom? Right now I assume that HTC rom is the same as ATT rom except without bloatware.

also...I am not entirely sure, but how do you perform a hard/soft reset? I read many threads without specific instructions. Press the hole wit a stylus for a hard reset and then what do you do to soft reset it...press the hole again? I don't wnat to experiment and miss the 3 second window.

Officially You can only load only an arabic rom and WM 6.1 arabic version is not yet available. If you want to install the european version u need to use tools like Hard Spl. Look for a guide on Upgrading to non official roms and you will find a way. I am also waiting for WM 6.1 arabic version to get released. The europan version available to you on HTC E-Club is just a technical error.

Sure you can flash the Official WM6.1 WWE Version.

I have bought my TyTn II in egypt and it had an Arabice rom Version 1.81.452.0.
It is not different than your rom except that GPS is Disabled in that rom.

I flashed the WM6.1 3.28.405.0 without any problem.

I have been running the ROM for about a week now.
BTW. To download u must be an e-Club member with your device registered with HTC. This only will apply to the region that your device was intended for.
My Impressions for far:
1. Great battery life
2. Love threaded texts
3. Speed about the same.
4. CorePlayer 1.2.4 works fine.
5. Keyboard slide +/- 1 second to switch
6. Radio seems more sensitive, especially on 3G network.

Therfore my device still is great for the use I intended it for.


One bummer though - the screen is less sensitive to the touch. Quite hard taps are required at times to register.

I have it running nicely on my V1615 (Vodafone), but I'd previously used HardSPL to flash it to the old 6.0 HTC Rom back in October. The new Rom flashed fine, but I initially experienced some hangs and freezing - this was traced to a problem with HardSPL, which I was able to painlessly replace with the new HTC SPL, since when it's been perfect.
