I have tried the official software on my JASJAR "standard" the navigation software start but it give very often "out of memory" pop-up and exit. when the software start i have 24MB of Free memory. Other people have the same problem? With modded (128MB) version, all works fine?

PS
With the beta version of the software i dont have problems.

it happened to me too.

i disabled the menu effects,
lowered the quality,
and used a low draw distance of the 3d buildings, it helped. it almost mever happens now.

and for some reason, when it dies it stops when exactly 4MB are left in ram.
does anyone know how to disable this 4MB limit?

I think that it is big IGO8 programmers problem. Program has errors in memory management. Old Demo work better. Automapa5 had the same problem and now is OK. Wait for new version.

There's on the wild a "lite" version of this software that works fine on the JasJar. I will share with you the config file when at home.
I am using it and there is no issues at all with the European maps.

same story. I've got Apr, 15 version - falls down when breeze blowing.... And there were no problems with beta at all.

Looking forward to upgrade RAM...

Use a ROM which leaves enough RAM (NNCuong' S 2.11.11 functions well).
SoftReset your PPC before launching your GPS program .
On rather short way its functions well.
Best towards 128 Mo is a upgrade.

Same question. A year ago I talked to Dopod's service people in Malaysia. They said - no way, but as far as I know, lots of Uni's been upgraded all over the world. So, I'm waiting for trip home to do this :)

Question to 128M RAM devices owners: does Apr, 15 version works fine for you?

Hello,

On my HTC Universal (Xda Exec) + BT GPS H406 work iGO 8 fine. I have 64Mb Ram. With official Rom from T-Mobile UK (ROM 2.00.39, Radio 1.17). No problem with "out of memory". After SR have 31 Mb of Free memory.
In iGO8 have 3D Buildings, 3D terain, 6 maps, Phonename, POI, Speedcam.
I have build of iGO8 (8.0.0.31442 and 8.0.0.35389 - Mar 13 2008).

P.S. Sorry for my English.

With 64 Mb of RAM I had problems of "out of memory" in the large cities.
Out of the cities all was ok even on long way.

With the 128Mo of RAM, I saw that when I calculate long ways, it uses 70Mb of RAM

70MB? Oops... No wonder why I've got "out of memory" message :)
