That's because you have to register your device, and you can only register HTC branded devices, not Vario's or Tilts, or Orange TyTn II's...

I suggest that when it's available (the links are not working yet) we all perform a graphic test to the clean rom and post results. Who knows if there will be a rom with some different stuff inside. I suggest GXMark as posted by GSLEON3.

This is not a ROM cooking thread! If you don't see a new release on the Chinese site then go bug THC. These are official HTC releases from the different country web pages. As for the scroll/zoom, it should perform better as this should be the same as the leaked WWE release we saw earlier this week.

The US HTC page has an E-Club? I have not seen that... For us Tilt users, we need to wait for a link to be posted for the WWE version as AT&T has to modify what they have received from HTC to reflect their needs (ie. add in bloatware, internet settings, and remove everything useful from the home screen). This is why it is called a "Tilt" and not a "TyTN II". HTC did say that AT&T will have a new download after HTC is finished releasing theirs (which could mean any time from tomorrow to the end of the year:rolleyes:).

I've tried both the leaked WWE and NLD versions myself and I experience a lot of screenlagging.
But since I'm from NLD, I would like to test this "official" ROM which has no screenlagging.

So if please someone can tell if this version doesn't have screenlagging, I'm flashing again :P

Or does changing the pagepool to 32MB help a lot ?

When you register at the e club they register your serial number of your phone, If after you sign in you do not see a link to the upgrade that means that it is not released for your phone. Any flash must be treated like a custom flash. That is the way the HTC e club works anyway.

The "increase" in performance is due to improved dlls and such... No real hardware acceleration at all!...

Never use Backup softyware after changing ROM's . Much better is to use PIMBackup to move contacts /SMS's after change or use standard Outlook to synchronise .

With this upgrade its faster. Still you notice that when you scroll in your programlist it lags. When opening programs with the launcher its smoother. so imo its a littlebit faster but still the same problems. i would think they had fixed that!!! Also screenrotation costs 2-3 sec to rotate. :mad:

Like other 1.65 radios, WiFi does not work well with my router, must put the WiFi in "performance mode", in "battery mode" does not download anything, even with the phone at 10 cm from the router.

I think i will go back to my favourite, 3.02 WWE with the 1.58.26.20 radio.
Also, until someone finds how to solve the cleartype in landscape mode problem, I will not use any ROM based on this. I don't want to lose features. A 6% increase in graphics speed cannot compensate missing features and programs crashing.

Totally I agree with u, it should be the last device for HTC to have, unless they change their policy. What i am thinking in now is the strange time to for HTC to release this rom days or weeks before the official launch of Diamond !!!
If they aiming at teeling us that there is no driver at all for Kaiser and go to buy Diamond? , then what a policy from devil they follow, and I think the best reply from us is not to buy Diamond at all and think in a replacement for Kaiser such as on of the devices called "Kaiser killer" such as Ultimate 9502. As long as i know it has the chip qualcom 7200, but any one knows if the ultimate contains the driver or not?

I've flashed the WWE version using the SD Card method and noticed that it included Radio, Bootloader, Splash and OS. Does that "bootloader" means that I should apply HardSpl again before flashing any coocked rom?

Commenting on the rom itself, no gain so far. I'll just leave it for a couple of days before I flash a nicely cooked one :)

Maybe xD should lobby, raise money and buy HTC ;)

For the umpteenth time... NO :D, you don't have to hardSPL after this. Once you have HardSPL'd once, you can load as many custom or official ROMS that you like.

i test the german rom ... vs my old german vodafone rom. runs good at this time.
gxmark before 1411 and 1617 with the new one. test pocket-quake witch runs fast on the mda compact and slow on the kaiser ... now with the new rom unplayable slow and crappy.
no camera fix from HTC ... thanx ... slow cam at all.
screen rotate is not faster but booting up system is faster and windows scrolling in explorer and wincommander is faster.

This FIN(Finnish) rom sucks big time. Screen rotation takes 3-4 seconds. Dutty's rom it took less than 1 second slide sound on.

Works fine, after switching gps from internal to "other nema reciever".
I set port speed to 19200.

With default settings it takes nearly 2 minutes for a cold start. (gps tool same problem)

I do not believe this to be the ROM issue or else everyone would have that issue, its probaly either the hardware or something else so I am using the ROM itself now with nothing else installed to see what the issue is with random typing (or freezing when I am not on the screen where stuff can be typed).

Please share more info if anyone else had the same issue.

hmmm...more posts I read...more it feels like there is something in the ROM causing random freezes....I have been opening closing apps after installing the ROM but not install any other app and I have yet to experience a random freeze or typing garbage issue..as soon as that happens...I am switching back to 3.02...my favorite Shipped WWE ROM so far.

I believe the random freezes and slow motions are related to the keybord acting up and typing shit (it feels like slow motion because there is nowhere to see whats being typed by the keyboard)...maybe someone who has more insight knowledge can develop a fix

In my case I can confirm that the WWE ROM freezes randomly on my Tilt with nothing else installed. I am downgrading back to 3.02, I love the phone...hate HTC though...company has a lot of potential but if they don't deliver quality stuff and stuff that can deliver performance like the talked about graphics performance lack, they won't last and certainly won't be able to complete with companies like Apple using the Diamond....iPhone sucks and in my opinion is worse of all....but their stuff is quality stuff (it works) which most people (not techy) like and thats why they sell the iPhones....just my two cents.

I was a blackberry user for the past 5 years but switched to WM just because I want more control which BB sucks at just like Apple....you have to pay fixed price for their data usages and can't install shit on the BBs, even have to pay for GPS mapping even though they give you the GPS chip in the device, same goes for apple...WM is the best and I hope HTC does better next time.

HTC seems to be playing with the SPL on the msm7500 titan here and there, we now have different ROM/SPL/radio compatibilities and some nbh's puke on some SPL's. some ROMs will randomly freeze/slowdown/screw up otherwise with one Hard-SPL but run fine with a different Hard-SPL.

I think HTC has a great potential but too many bugs, HTC + Windows Mobile is something = liberty and freedom but too bad they can't get their shit together.....I have tried to install and use this ROM on its own without any other software but it is freezing up on me, especially when I finish using the phone app. I think iPhone is 100% against freedom and liberty but people still buy it because if simplicity and stability which on the Windows side still lacks unfortunately.

I am thankful to everyone in this forum who has spared some time off their daily lives to contributes to delivering all the fixes, cooked ROMs, I hope HTC gets their shit together soon and deliver when it comes to performance or else using the Diamond to complete with iPhone will just remain a dream rather than becoming a reality.

I hava a new unbranded device coming to me on monday (got a new on warranty due to device failure). I will apply the new update without going to hardspl first and see if that makes any difference. If it screws up the phone and I cannot go to hardspl I can always take it to the dealer and make him put back the original 6.0 (nice buddy of mine).

It might be some answer to the problems. From what I understand the SPL is ,with IPL, similar to a computer BIOS. If you flash a BIOS not supporting for example win XP you will have a lot of problems and it might just be this thats causing som much problems. Not that I get my hopes up to high but it´s worth a try.

If no one has tried flashing a fresh device on monday evening I will give it a try. I´m om GMT+1 here so it will probably be around 9pm GMT (got to get the kids to bed first) until I know the result.

for the reference: 1.58.21.23 Murata PPAS radio is Polaris radio but works just fine with Kaiser, niki and wings. Has to be Murata, not standard 1.58.21.23.

Now that is most certainly intruiging to say the least. Might one inquire as to the nature of the dlls you have used.
I ask as I am now a proud and satisfied user of Death2 rom (see below for link*) and am interested in any added speed inprovements which may be possible.I have changed various cache settings as per usual and it IS fast.But your bench mark scores and even more interesting.

The most secure is repackage the ROM without the SPL like i did here

2. seems like they have lower the graphic quality to make it run smoother I can tell from tomtom
3. serious lag on running files from sd card
4. lag on keyboard screen change

if you registered your imei nr correctly, you will onlu get ROM updates for your specif device (depending of 72XX shipset onboard)

FE, I have NO access to any ROM on HTC e-club yet, which means that NO new ROM is available for the chipset version they used in production dates between Sep 2007 and Dec 2007 (from insider)

The Hard SPL which we use now is based on WM6 SPL, I don't recall having any freezes using WM6, But when I started using WM6.1 I had random freezes on most of them.

That is why I strongly think that we need a new Hard SPL based on the new WM6.1 SPL.

Installed the WWE onto my Tmob MDA Vario III and seems to work ok, is definately faster than the stock rom and the screen rotation is worth its weight in Gold.

Updated to the new official German release.

Got 1647 in gxmark. I've attached 2 older Benchmarks from the ROMs I used before.

Nevertheless, the ROM seams verry sluggish to me. It's responsiveness is bad and the Icons flicker, when you scroll through the Programs List...

OK, this has became ridiculous. Out of curiosity I just flashed back the original WM6 ROM that came with my TyTN II.

- gxmark 1411
- Text displayed on landscape mode with cleartype enabled
- Switches from portrait to landscape faster than the new official ROM
- With the 1.65.16.25 radio, it WORKS, and connects to my router on the lowest power settings
- GPS hot-fix in 2 seconds

Flashed a WM6 radio (1.27.12.17) as the camera does not work with 1.65
- GPS cold fix on 30 seconds, hot fix on 1 second
- Skype Works

With all the respects, guys, what the hell are we doing here? The only useful thing I found were the links to get a few cabs. All the new ROMs are not worth the trouble, problems, bugs and things that do not work.
Just start with the original WM6 ROM, add kaisertweak and a few utilities, and you have a ROM with good GPS, good WiFi, good battery and where all programs work.

For me this ROM works fine, not so quick but stable, no problem until now...

PhotoContacts 5.08, TomTom 6, BT HandsFree and some other apps...

Seems the SPL have no relation with the OS/Radio operation...

I am using the Finnish rom and the rom is working fine since I flashed last night, haven't experinced any freeze or keyboard lag. And with new radio, the battery is ok too, almost as good as my favour L26 rom and radio combination. The only down thing is I can't get VoIP to work, no sound at all.

Oh, one more thing, tomtom 6 is working fine too, first time start(cold start)took under 1 min. to locat my position in my moving car. Of course, with quickGPS up to date.
