Hi,

I have got HTC Hermes - S64 WM 6.1 UC Rom on my mobile now and its working great. Thanks a lot for this.

But i am not having windows office on mobile now (e.g. excel, words, powerpoint etc.) There is a "Office Mobile" folder in programmes section, but it has only Notepad.

Can you please let me know how can i have latest windows office on my Hermes.

What isn't work for me:
The quick menu on today screen, some time stop show
The option ask when connect on usb to pc

What i think we should can remove (and if it is possible, how? )

MMS/SMS should be separated

Maybe is because FLO things but i think your rom a little slow, if i can remove all the flo things that i don't use i think it would be faster! Beside that i like the rom and think that is very pretty.

Sweet ROM... breathing new life into my 8525. Quick question though: On the screen shots on there are 3 icons at the bottom of the "Today" page which don't show up on my phone. They look like bluetooth, wifi, and radio buttons. I could swear they were there post-install, but now nothing!

How do I get them back?

Thanks for sending the sharefile link to me. I removed the existing installed windows office 2007 first from my devise and then installed the one (CAB file) from the link you gave me. I could see now the excel, word, power point icon. But when i clicked on each of the icon, the application did not open. The cab file on shared drive seems not working. Can you kindly help me.

Also the other issue is as follows:
1) When i click on Launch Music Player, the song runs for few seconds and then it automatically switches to another song. This is a continuos process and each song is played only for few seconds. But Audio Manager is working well

2) If i open another applications (say games or contacts) while music player was on, it switches off the music player. Can music player remain on during use of other applications.

3) ROM is slow

Other than above issues, i believe your ROM is one of the best and thanks a lot.

i also noticed that V5 is alower than V4. I thought i was imagining it but i wasn't. other wise it a working ROM for me. Its a minor issue.

;) ok re-flashed and is working better now... don't think i waited till your pre confige finished, and thought it had locked up the first time.So i soft rest the phone before it could finish.. After reflahing it and letting go through the setup it works alot better. only thing is still with SMS when clicking on icon it takes awhile for messages to show and or sometimes still have to reboot the phone to even access the message..:confused:

;) No im not having issues, that your having sorry... hope you didnt do what i did and didnt let the pre config finish when you first flashed it.. if so re flash it and when it comes to settingsoundacustics.exe just wait it takes awhile but your phone isnt frozen. so let it finishe. thats if the same thing:) hasppend to you..

My SMS problems are back:(.. Have to reboot the phone at times to get message. click and won't open, and the predictve text problem is back also.. when typing it inserts words or text that i have texted before in a ghost image and when i hit space key it automaticly inserts the words.. so i have to delete them then type again... so far no more problems with wifi :)

a little tool by elias (read more (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=386948)) is active in background and close unused apps.

Go Start > Settings > System > pKill Setting and see/edit the app list to kill.

CorePlayer is as Player in the list. Add apps without .exe

8525 comes with something different all together. 1.54.07.00 is latest? Try this instruction (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1990320&postcount=6) even though it is for big storage and this ROM isn't. Also skip the part where it says to play with the radio, stick to what comes with the original for now until you sort your radio out.

look mate, this is not Mac, windows XP or Vista... it's like moving to another OS let's call it mobile firmware (forget about Windows mobile) on another type of devices... which means you need to read the instructions to guide you making these steps... these instructions for this device are called WIKI for Hermes (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes)

You can restore backups onto the SAME rom, but dont onto another one, even if its the same build.

Do you mean you had this EXACT rom before? If so, restore, if not, dont. (causes stability issues)

I had the exact same ROM as the present one I just flashed.
I was experiencing instability with the Radio having No GSM at bootup.
So, I guess I can proceed to restore the backup then.

This has been answered 1 page back.. you need to change the keyboard layout with advanced config.. I have even written this into the FAQ.. pleases read people..!!

Thanks for pointing me in the direction to recover from the No GSM error.
After all the flashing, it seems to go well but within the 1st 24 hours, I experienced a lock-up & after a reboot, back came the No GSM problem!
I recalled the steps I took to set it up up to the point where the problem repeated & I thought a software that I installed might have caused the problem. This software is not included in the backup that I restored.
Is it possible for a software to interfere with the GSM Radio ROM?
I thought the Radio ROM was located in a different part of the memory & anything installed to the OS RAM cannot interfere with the stability of the ROM?
If it was indeed a software that caused the No GSM error, then, I suspect perhaps that the Flash ROM might be starting to show signs of wear. Afterall, part of the ROM is used for the Persistent Storage since it was implemented in WM5.
What do you think?
I'm now back on the stock WM6 Cingular ROM & giving it the run down to see if it is stable.
I'll add that installing the same piece of software without the AT&T customization (soft reset after Welcome screen setup) caused the OS to hang after the boot splash screen.

I recalled the steps I took to set it up up to the point where the problem repeated & I thought a software that I installed might have caused the problem. This software is not included in the backup that I restored.
Is it possible for a software to interfere with the GSM Radio ROM?
I thought the Radio ROM was located in a different part of the memory & anything installed to the OS RAM cannot interfere with the stability of the ROM?
If it was indeed a software that caused the No GSM error, then, I suspect perhaps that the Flash ROM might be starting to show signs of wear. Afterall, part of the ROM is used for the Persistent Storage since it was implemented in WM5.
What do you think?
I'm now back on the stock WM6 Cingular ROM & giving it the run down to see if it is stable.
I'll add that installing the same piece of software without the AT&T customization (soft reset after Welcome screen setup) caused the OS to hang after the boot splash screen.

PS: The software is a trial version of the Bluefire Mobile VPN version 2.7 or 3.0. Both caused the same effect.

Weird, but then again you really can't expect every software to run on certain roms. Does it work on the official ROM? Once you are happy with the radio, I would suggest just flashing back with a shipped ROM without radio like VP3G (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317952) are you happy with that radio at this stage without the software installed?

Also may I know what you have backed up and try to install?

I downloaded starbase64's great custom os, but there's a problem. It still brings up that word suggestion thing even though I turned it off in options. Is there a way to manually shut it off for good? It's annoying :-\ Why would I want to write aboobs when I write and?

I'm now running the orginal shipped ROM. The problem I encountered with the software was on the original shipped ROM as well.
So far, it's been doing fine on the 3rd day.
It did exhibit the No GSM error a handful of times the past 3 days but I did what someone on a thread suggested & it seemed to work. Just add a little pressure around the battery compartment above the EMS plate next to the battery connector & replace the battery. Upon starting, the No GSM error went away. This is very weird but it works!!
So now, I'm not very keen on changing anything for the time being.

Thanks for the excellent ROM! I've been using it since August and it's been excellent. The only real issue I've found is the Slideshow doesn't work on HTC Album but works with other ROMs.

Also, any chance you could update with one main change?
Replace IE with Opera. IE is slow in comparison to Opera.


While you're at it, any chance you could include Office07 on the installation? I've had no problems manual install (thanks to your shared files!) but if you're considering the update, perhaps you could include it?

Also, the Diamond keyboard guess ahead feature has been a real pain and I've turned it off but is there any chance you could reinstate the guess ahead dictionary that comes with WM6.1 keyboard?

Just use Advanced config to set the keyboard to english.

I flashed this rom today, first impression: GREAT! :D

I now have the issue that the nice scrollbar on the contactlist (not the default scrollbar but a alphabetic bar) disappears after a couple of times I use it.
After a reset he's back, and then he disappears again and the normal schrollbar shows up.

Is this a known issue?

New Activesync email notification doesn't work, all settings under settings>sounds & notifications is correct but I didn't hear any notification or vibrate when new e-mail arrived, anybody experienced this problem?

OK. After downloading the latest version of the ROM, I faced following problems:

1. Office 2007 was missing.

2. Y and Z got interchanged

3. Autocomplete (i.e. suggesting alternative words once you type first few letters) was not working

4. When I would type first few letters of a contact in the To: field of SMS, it used to suggest possible options of contacts with my Telstr WM 6. Now, it does not do give options any longer.

The first two problems have ben resolved by installing the Cab and by using Advanced Config. What do I do about the last 2 issues? Thanking everyone in anticipation.

First of all, thanks for the GREAT ROM!

I am having an issue when sending text messages. For some reason, while typing on the physical keyboard, autocomplete inserts certain words or letters that just make no sense.

The default behavior used to be that if I continued typing, the suggestions go away when I hit the "Space" key, but now this key accepts the suggestion and inserts text into my message.

This is the only issue I've found with this ROM, but it's really frustrating.

FROM German to English - auto complete doesn't work anymore (really slows down typing SMS!)

When i go into my file explorer my storage card has been renamed to "storage card2" however the original "storage card" is still in the file explorer. I cannot rename storage card 2 nor can i set it as my default storage card. this prevents me from using ringtones stored on my card as well as prevents me from using many applications since they all use "storage card" and not "storage card2" as their default storage location and I cannot change this. Is there any fix for this? any help would be greatly appreciated!

What caused it was SYNCing the phone WITHOUT the MicroSD card installed.

Sad to say, my fix was to just to re-ROM the phone - after using PIM Backup of course!

it shouldn't do you need to find your shipped rom from here

I installed v6 on my HERM100 (O2 Trion), and for some reason it doesn't bring up the keypad at the PIN prompt, forcing me to use the real keyboard (very inconvenient).

Yup, you posted multiple times, just hit submit once and wait.

You probably need to flash the at&t stripped rom (in my sig) then back to this rom.

I had a rom similar to this, but without the added extra part on the today screen.

My only problem with it, was that it would blank screen when trying to enter the lock code to come back out of standby etc.

Any ideas if this build has fixed that?

Try flashing the at&t stripped rom between each cooked rom. It will straighten out the memory, and any issues that can arise. If it still happens, try another rom.

#1 Is this device compatible? Current OS WM6 Pro (CE OS 5.2.1622) Build 18128.0.4.4) with this new update?

I would say, make sure you have hard spl installed on your phone first. Then you can recover from a bad flash more easily (if it were to get disconnected or something goofy).

As for the sprite backup, I've never used it, so I'm not sure. You may just have to test it, and if it messes up, do a hard reset and start again. I have flahsed and resetup my phones so many times, I just couldn't count, used to flash daily.

Good luck, sometimes the best thing to do is just to try. You can always flash back to what you already have if you get freaked out.

Also, I would suggest grabbing the at&t stripped rom to flash between custom roms (will fix/prevent odd problems that can happen when flashing big storage roms).

I’m little bit stuck right now,. I just installed this rom couple times but after while my phone freeze up and I have to make soft reset than my phone starts with align screen and customization. I think it’s because I didn’t make SDConfig.txt but I have no idea what I need to make and what needs to be in. Can you give me a hint please? I read all 38 pages I know how to change keyboard to English and all these little changes but I couldn’t find out anything about this SDConfig.txt

It's touchflo, it is a memory hog. If you shut off anything that looks cool, you will have more free memory.

Damaged my speaker after playing some MP3's. The loudness of the sound damaged it. Maybe you can just set the volume to a minimum so it won't damage a speaker. Now I need to search for a new speaker to replace my damaged one.. :mad::mad::(:(
