I've got a couple problems with some buttons, Y and Z as well as ! and @ are switched up. Otherwise i love the rom, but since i do use the keyboard a bit this would be a deal breaker for me :/

without going thru regedit set your regional settings to US ENGLISH, THEN set your date and time formats.

2) domain enroll has no icon?
3) touch keyboard comes up duing the splash screen on bootup

you need to create SDconfig.txt
and put it on the SDCard root (yes.. manually)
and before flashing as it runs it straight after flashing - its an easy way to auto customize your rom, install the apps you want etc.

the rom isnt meant to be a cab..
the rar file is extracted using winRAR or iZarc and you get ruu_signed.nbh and ruuwrapper.exe
then you run ruuwrapper.exe to flash to the device.
please tell me you have installed hard spl and read the wiki?

The S64 WM6.1 UC rom is so far quite stable. (2nd day without reboot) and Garmin XT runs perfect on my Hermes even after a day. (Past rom will have an error mesage from garmin about low stoarge space blah blah plesae clean up blah blah)

BUT, As per some posters, the in-call volume is too low. is there a patch or will this be fixed in the new V3 rom?

This my friend is by far one of the best ROM's ive ever tried

the only issues i had (phone skin, lack of office and low volume) have now all been resolved one way or another and please please please can you keep developing!

it would be great if you could perhaps make a fully blown from and a vanilla rom, you seem to be very talented, keep up the good work!

Dear duke, could you please be so kind and tell me how did you resolve the low in-call volume problem? I tried that regfix mentioned a few posts before (changing attenuation to zero), but unfortunately it helped little but nothing. It's almost impossible for me to use the phone because of its low volume... besides, the best rom ever!

Love the ROM. I have a problem with skype. I log into skyp with the keyboard slide out..and all is well, but as soon as I close the keyboard..and the screen rotates from landscape to portrait, it logs me out of skype.

i tried to lift up the volume slider, alter the registry (/soundcategorie/volume attenuation set to "0", disable the HTC animation), disable the WOW effect, upgrading Radio version, nothing works, the in-call volume is too low, at the same time the headset only works one headphone, all this after upgrading this rom. i don't know what a can do, maybe the only solution is another rom, don't you thing? i'm looking forward for your comment.

I love the ROM :), however I'm having the same problem with the Keyboard.
The keyboard that apppears on the splach screen (1 letter per button, in a grid) is the one I want to use. If I select 'Touch Keyboard', I get a keyboard with 2 letters to a button. Touch keypad is a number keypad (like nokia etc).
If I select 'Keyboard', I get a small standard keyboard which doesn't work at all. I have tried installing other keyboards, but they don't work either :(.
Any suggestions? :confused:

Yeah - even though it's a great ROM I went back to my old favorite CRC's ROM after a week or so because the battery life is terrible on this one (even with a brand new battery) Get about 1 day if I'm lucky compared to 3 when using CRC.

Keeping my fingers crossed it's better on v3.

The onscreen keyboard doesn't work at all.. but the touch keyboard and touch keypad are all working.. Could you please fix this in the next release? thanks.

I love the ROM :), however I'm having the same problem with the Keyboard.
The keyboard that apppears on the splach screen (1 letter per button, in a grid) is the one I want to use. If I select 'Touch Keyboard', I get a keyboard with 2 letters to a button. Touch keypad is a number keypad (like nokia etc).
If I select 'Keyboard', I get a small standard keyboard which doesn't work at all. I have tried installing other keyboards, but they don't work either :(.
Any suggestions? :confused:

This is one of the best ROM's I've tried, however I wish it was more like your last in regards to memory. Love some of the new toys, however it's not worth giving up that much memory at least for myself. I went back to the prior ROM of yours & used the Diamond Theam floating around. Also noticed that the data connection auto-disconnects after a very short time, any way to keep it connected?

On another note, anyone know how to disable the big start menu? Most of the time there is a control panel for that, but it doesn't show up in this ROM.

Hey. In your full Rom I was able to play videos (mp4) from the diamond album. But in the lite version I get "Unable to open this type of MP4 file". Does anybody know which cab I may have skipped over?

I haven't used it long enough to notice the battery situation you mentioned, But as far as the data connection problem...I am having the same thing happen. I will do a search for something on google and by the time I click a link it has to reconnect. Seems it needs to reconnect after about 10-15 seconds.

Other than that, this rom is great!
I loved the auto config for the service provider!

the rom isnt meant to be a cab..
the rar file is extracted using winRAR or iZarc and you get ruu_signed.nbh and ruuwrapper.exe
then you run ruuwrapper.exe to flash to the device.

I really like the look of this ROM, but I can't put it on my phone.

Progress bar hangs at 0% when flashing. My phone just has "Loading..." on the screen and then I get an Error [260] on RUUWrapper thing.

All other ROMs work. This one, sadly, does not. For me, at least.

Edit: Crisis averted. I put my phone in to bootloader mode, then ran the wizard. Magic.

When I installed TomTom, the TomTom link appears under the quicklinks to contacts, Home etc. etc. But this wiped out the three quicklinks for BlueTooth, Wireless and the other one.

hi...so far excellent rom. fast and stable. i have a problem which i am sure is not directly related to the rom...i had this the first time i upgraded two years ago but i forgot the remedy! :(

each time i try to enter the recipient name in the <To:> field, it says 'Cannot recognize one or more recipients or the address is not valid. Would you like to send the message anyway?'

the message gets through to the recipient but the error message bugs me a lot!

p/s i can't get the onscreen keyboard to stick even though i change it under Settings>Input to keyboard! each time i open messaging it reverts back to Touchpad which i am not used to since i want to use/suggest my Contact Names for my To: field.

Suddenly today my device has stopped playing any ringtone for incoming calls (even the preset default tone) It does play notifications for sms, alerts etc.. I have checked all the settings and everything seems okay and it was working fine a few hours ago and no changes have been made to my device... Is there any possible fix to this? I have tried placing tones in the /storage card/my documents/ringtones folder however this did not fix anything!

the ROM has nothing to do with Arabic support. you need either "TSD Arabizer", or "Imaginet Arabizer 2" to get your ROM supporting arabic.

I'd better stop flashing as long as I don't have problems with the software I have for now... but when I get one, I will have a day off from studying and it will be granted to flashing until I get a good stable one.
this ROM seems to be great but the lasck of memory in it is equal to a major bug for me.

1. just tried to set up exchange with the v4, keyboard/sip still doesn't work on some fields for letter input.
2. think should keep keyboard/sip as default sip.
3. this rom is a bit bloat, should trim down a bit, not enough ram to run some big apps.

first, I'm glad you released v4, 'cause the low incall volume was a pain in the ass for me.. otherwise, your roms are still among the best roms out there..

But I still have a question: I noticed that the new dialer in v4 is missing the speed dial button, which I used to use a lot.. is there a way to put that button back on the dialer's screen (instead of reaching it via the menu)? Or if not, how could I get back the dialer from v2?

Unfortunately I can confirm the very bad battery usage: this rom depleted my battery in just couple of hours, without me touching the phone more then 3 times!! I could actually watch the battery meter going down from minute to minute..

I've found the same disconnecting problem to be happening with windows live search. The only difference is I don't know how to manually connect via connection settings. Could anybody tell me how?

As far as the battery usage is concerned, I do no think it's that bad until you play videos & MP3's. On the internet issue, hell it may save on the battery usage. I'm new, but if it's not connected I guess it's not eating up the battery. One charge last me all day, but I do other things besides play with my phone the whole day. I like this ROM a lot & will use it until Schaps releases his new Rom & depending on how that one works I may keep it. The bloat does not seem to effect it as far as I can tell.

Hey Starbase, yesterday I updated my device with your rom, it is fantastic, very nice and pretty I should say.
The only problem came to me a few hours later, when as I was sending messages, all of a sudden like at the 5th message or so, I was not able to send messages.
It gave me error "Your text message cannot be sent", and then it just asks you to try again, but it never works after that until a soft reset.
I already checked the account that it's listed for text messages on the device and it is correct.
*I was wondering what could be the issue?
Also, when I turn on the device, it tells me, "your operator is not on the database, you might not have service", but I do have service, I checked the connection setup, and the country is not listed.
*Is there any way I can add that?

Maybe it can be the radio version, Mine was 1.32 or 1.36, I don't quite remember, can it be that?

Firstly let me say thank you for all the effort required to prepare and cook this ROM
Have been running it for 4 Days, almost a record for my phone!
Almost everything works as advertised, even MMS.
My only question, what is up with bluetooth? I can connect to my handsfree, i can connect and use my GPSr,
but I can't send or recieve files with BT file sharing, I saw this point raised a couple of pages back.
I am using HTC_Hermes_S64_WM_6.1_UC_Rom_v4_28.06.2008

Edit: Somehow corrupted my storage card setup, my card got renamed to Storage Card 2, which broke most of my installed applications. I did a re-install to rectify that and now BT works as expected, must have been a bad flash the first time.

At first great thx to starbase64 for very very nice ROM. I'm using on it for a day or two and I'm still very impressed of his job.

Battery drain problem - I've changed radio from 1.50.0.0 to 1.54.30.0 and it looks like to be much better.

I have found 3 problems:
- Long end key pressed -> looks like doesn't work :(
- QuickTasks after keypad opened - the same issue - looks like doesn't work
- When I select righ soft key to open 'Calendar' and press it I got a message that there is certificate problem or part of application not found -> this I can live with.

Any idea how to fix those problems?

I've found few more 'features' of this ROM:
-Comm Manager -> 'Communication' text is sometimes overlaped with 'Airplane Mode'

-->Fixed- Turning on Bluetooth also turns on Irda (beam). .

-'Domain Enroll' in Settings/Connections has got icon missed.

-Calculator doesn't work - does not start at all.

-->Fixed-Contacts copying doesn't work -> 'An unexpected error has occured in this program' => big pain :(

-'Symbol Pad' input method doesn't work -> looks like files missing (Settings/Personal/Input -> selecting Symbol Pad -> press options => "The selected input method could not be loaded"

-Bluetooth pairing - there is an issue with 'empty password'. Typically, when adding new device you can give no passkey, press next and it works. However - sometimes there is an another dialog (when device tries to talk to PDA) when empty passkey is not accepted :(

When i go into my file explorer my storage card has been renamed to "storage card2" however the original "storage card" is still in the file explorer. I cannot rename storage card 2 nor can i set it as my default storage card. this prevents me from using ringtones stored on my card as well as prevents me from using many applications since they all use "storage card" and not "storage card2" as their default storage location and I cannot change this. Is there any fix for this? any help would be greatly appreciated!

First of all, thanks for the GREAT ROM!

I am having an issue when sending text messages. For some reason, while typing on the physical keyboard, autocomplete inserts certain words or letters that just make no sense.

The default behavior used to be that if I continued typing, the suggestions go away when I hit the "Space" key, but now this key accepts the suggestion and inserts text into my message.

This is the only issue I've found with this ROM, but it's really frustrating.

I have downloaded some softwares and games available in starbase 64 4shared files, but they are in RAR format. On unraring (!) i am getting folders like conf, data etc...

No exe file or anything available to run... How can i install this?

I think you are unraring Cab files.

remove the association of *.cab files off PocketRAR, restart the device and then click the file to install normally
