Hotmail without Live?

Is there any way to sync my hotmail account without using the whole Windows Live program? It is a resource hog and I don't need anything but the email. Also, I can't get it to sync more than my last 50 emails, which is frustrating.

Any thoughts?

i dont think so, but i too would like to sync hotmail without using live...

i simply set up hotmail as just another regular count; works fine; no Live in use.

How did you manage to do that, when it automatically sets it up as a live account when it searches for the settings online. Did you manually enter the smtp and pop3 servers? If so, what were the settings you used?

there's a program called mobile email search for it no need for live with this.

I tend to just surf to Hotmail through Opera.

It's the same as sitting at a computer and you don't have to worry about it just showing the last 50 messages
