Flu killing me this days but i got news good for us.

I just got new rom :
RUU_Nike_TMO_UK_1.35.110.11_Radio_Nike_<b>1.58.21.24</b>_signed_Ship.exe
Romdate : 2008/06/06

I'm working on it.And try some news driver for ours niki devices.
So it will take some times for news rom.

My rom will release very early of next week..!

i dont' know what are the steps and skills to do it , but i propose to help Tom in translating Rom in other language.
i'm italian and i can try to translate in italian (if someone tells me "how to do").

Tom is doing a great work in his leisure to provide us a good ROM - therefore i find it really improper to agitate him. I also really want this ROM (and i think i have to wait a bit longer because of the GER-version ;)) ... but let him some time for wife, kids and friends :)

but the end result is that this has discouraged him enough to leave us. so i guess you WILL have to depend on the other rom cookers. i, for one, have found tom's to work best for me.

I totally agree. If you don't like to wait check another rom or make one yourself. Don't bother Tom or the other people in this forum who are patient and wait for the new Rom. And you don't have defend for people who have made a donation. I think they can do that themselves or wait... maybe they are patient.

But i have a question (and one problem): will we be able to use msn messenger with this rom?
Because i have a custom rom ( this rom is Mary v0.3.2 ) and i can't use windows live messenger and msn, whereas i could do it with the original rom.
If someone knows how to resolve my problem, please help me!

i was try to upgrade my Dual 20 Key and i got to the stage when the transfer of the file show 0% start... and does not move farther. after a while i get a message that the communication with device error. can you tell me what to do. the unit is fully open (bought it in the free market not from any operator) and is sim free.
as well i read this:
ERROR [262, 276, 284, 302] : UPDATE ERROR
This error occurs during the CE ROM code upgrade process.
Solution: If this happens, you can just soft-reset the device and run RUU again. The update process will then continue.
Note: At this stage, the Wince is destroyed; instead, it is in upgrade mode.
BUT he does not help - yet the good thing is that the Dual gets back to normal

If it's anything like v1 for me you need to disable the phone skin for good operation in car.

I've not tried v2 yet, but if the apps are similar to v1, just go to:
Start -> Programs -> PDA Settings -> AdvancedConfig
And from there, scroll down to the 'Phone' section and disable the skin.
The default setting (without any skins) is actually very nice in my opinion and landscape also works like a dream with it....as do bluetooth headsets and the like.

Patiently waiting Tom, good work so far, look forward to when it's ready, folks if you think Tom is slow take a look at portableapps menu, he's been saying there will be an eject button for over a couple of years now and no progress! ;)

It's not easy work getting these things done, most companies have teams of workers, not a lone chap working on a project given a few donations every now and again.

Don't get disheartened, it's always the moaners that are more vocal, for every one of them there's always going to be a huge number of patient waiters, not wanting to fill your post with useless piffle. Only thing I would say is, every now and again, please update your first posting on its status, and perhaps don't say "it'll be ready next week", when it might not, far better to say wait a few weeks and if you get it done any earlier, all the better! ;)

Blaming others for being unappreciative for covering a person own incompetenceis sure great. And guess what? He has long started on Diamond project even before v2 is released, so he left niki to diamond because of this? Your story dont make sense.

1) Tom is trying to release it togather with the multilang
2) Tom is trying to include some newly found cabs that he thinks should be in the rom
3) Tom is trying to fix the last vapor bug that cant be solved
4) Tom decided not to release it anymore because of all the unappeciative people.
5) Tom is sick, busy, yadda yadda

I suggest tom should just pick #4 and go to Diamond forum, atleast he dont look that bad that way for unable to come out with whats and not.:rolleyes:

Just one question though; What happened to the diamond style home screen shown in the screen shots on the first page of this thread? Was it too buggy to be included in the end?

hi Tom,
I downloaded your rom but there is a problem when I want to install it:
the computer says ERROR and the software is still at 0 O/O, so I can't use your rom on my device.........why ?

If it's anything like v1 for me you need to disable the phone skin for good operation in car.

I've not tried v2 yet, but if the apps are similar to v1, just go to:
Start -> Programs -> PDA Settings -> AdvancedConfig
And from there, scroll down to the 'Phone' section and disable the skin.
The default setting (without any skins) is actually very nice in my opinion and landscape also works like a dream with it....as do bluetooth headsets and the like.
