Can any G4 device users confirm if this ROM works on their devices! It has been confirmed by few users that it doesn't work on G4 devices!

I am using Ranju's last ROM 7.7, it is a very good one, i cannot imagine how a better ROM could be??
plz if any has tried both, tell us ur impression, is it worthy to change to NN.cuong's one?

It is the fastest ROM i have ever seen in my life, not only for Uni but alkso for all devices i have used till now started with Qtek 1010 and ended with Polaris. It is extremly fast in switching between landscape and portrait, searching my contacts (2500 contacts) in a snap. To be honest, i didn't install a lot of programs, only the Arabizer of Imaginet (it is knwon as a heavy program) and anothe 10 bucks of medical programs called Skyscape (it is known as a so light programs). I didn't install any utilities or multimedia programs, didn't add any thing in today screen, it is alrady occluded :). Really, give it a trial. The only questionable problem is some tolerable strange Radio behavior, will try radio 1.18 and decide.

Cuong's one is fast as a rocket, vanilla, and ported from a VGA ROM, the base ROM for all the coming cooked ROMs in next days, and I dream if the masters of cooking could integarte the Manila stuffs in next ROMs. So, for me if Cuong's ROM provides me with the minimum level of stability during my drive test along today and may be tommorrow at maximum, I'll keep it till Ranju release a new Diamond based ROM.

I concurred, n.n.cuong rom is really fast, this rom is as fast as his 2.11.11 if not faster,
this is how universal really should feel, fast and snappy!

Just out of curiosity, is your Universal a G3 device or a G4 device?

Though, sometimes the FAT does get messed up during flashing and then there is always MTTY to the rescue! :)

Yes, it is kindness from DaiThang to provide us with the translation. Unfortunately, both of my Universals are not with me. One is out for repairs due to broken USB port and the other is with one of my friends. So unfortunately, I cannot try this ROM and Ranju's v7.7 ROM for few days.

PhamQuang was the first one to port the Diamond ROM to Universal. This I posted few days ago and you must have missed it. The Universal with my friend has this ROM on it. Very fast and very stable.

Of course, combine PhamQuang Diamond port with the NNCuong previous v2.11.11, I have no doubt we have a winner on our hands. An extremely fast and very stable ROM with 21MB as Flash Disk. :D

First, I want to thank u very much for ur great effort that help too much to keep our Uni alive especially via importing highly developed ROMs.

In deed I didn't miss PhamQuang Diamond port, but I was not lucky with it, as first boot of it after flash was highly terrible with me. I don't know why this usually occur, some users complain from problems that doesn't appear with others. Anyway, I returned to Ranju's 7.6 after about 5 minutes of flashing PhamQuang Diamond ROM. Then, I flashed Ranju's 7.7 few minutes or hours after its releas and I was so happy with it till this new port of master NNCuong, really it was the fastest one, but unfortunately, I experienced about 5 ranmdom unintended soft reset along the first day of using it, three of them were on opening the device from suspend state, and i noticed the device to soft reset itself twice. So, may it happened more frequent but I didn't notice it.
I modified the SDMemory cashe to be 64 instead of 256, but the random reset still occur, please if u can post that problem in PDAVIET thread, it will be a kind effort from you.

Well you could try the good old "welcome.not"-trick... Used to do that on my Qtek 9090.
Make an empty file on your computer. Rename it to "Welcome.not". Copy the file to the root of your Storage Card.
Then reboot your universal with the card in and that bypassed the align screen

No doubt Ranju is a fine cook and his ROMs are very fast, stable and excellent. Though, Ranju ROMs have one peculiarity, that the 'storage' sometimes can be written and other times cannot be written. Thus, one has to flash an empty ExtROM, 'ms_.nbf' for the 'storage' to work properly. All Ranju ROMs suffer from this. It basically messes up the 'File Allocation Table'.

Many users have complained about this and when moving to other ROMs, they have encountered problems, just like you have. Thus, it requires 'MTTY'. Just for an experimental purpose, use "MTTY' and then flash NNCuong ROM and see if you still encounter problems.

I believe Ranju has done this intentionally, so that we always have to use his beautiful, fast, stable and excellent ROMs. :mad:

Storage: 10MB
Flash Disk: 22MB:)

Total storage: 72MB, not bad for a UNi!

The pBar is personally written by master NNCuong. The latest v1.53 is in Vietnamese and there is an old English v1.5 is floating somewhere. If you can't start it automatically, then put a short-cut in the 'start up' folder for it to start automatically.

I fully agree with you that it one of the fastest and stablest ROM. When the Diamond ROM first ported by Leo for KiaSer, it showed the contacts, but when you opened the contact, it didn't show any details. Since, then he has sorted out the bug.

I believe that we are in early stage of porting the HTC Diamond ROM to other various HTC devices. The good news for us UNi users is that HTC Diamond is VGA like our own UNi, thus it will be very beneficial to us the UNi users. I believe that there will be quite a few ROM cooked in future on this base. Add, to this the early NNCuong's base of v2.11.11

NNCuong's pBar is good, but my favorite is WkTsK! :)

I have listed above two of the bugs for this ROM:

1. The bluetooth stay connected only for few minutes.

2. The Cyberon Speed Dial installs successfully, but it doesn't work as it doesn't allow the settings to open up.

Can you please help on these two bugs, as there might be some solution posted for them at PDAViet.

I want only to suggest you to don't flash this rom if you have a G4 device, i stucked in splash screen and fortunately i reflashed my uni an then it worked.
Before i have the ranju 7.7 and i don't know exactly if the problem was the ranju rom or this but i thing that a flashdisk don't is more compatible with G4 devices. I hope this informations will be usefull for all.:)

I managed to access The Cyberon Speed Dial settings by starting the CVDSetting.exe in the windows folder (on the disk where you installed it).

No crashes so far, so I'd still say this is a pretty stable and fast ROM.

GSM & WiFi are working fine.

Bluetooth however is acting strange: I can connect to a NOKIA headset (I noticed no connection drops after 45 minutes of continuous use), but not to my car's built-in bluetooth system. The Uni doesn't even detect the car's bluetooth beam... :confused:

I've been using Radio version 1.18, which was tested and worked fine in another Uni, running a different ROM.

The Uni is set to «visible to other devices» and the «Authentication (Passkey) required» is unchecked under the bluetooth settings , so what am I doing wrong?...

Had to move to Ranju 7.7 - BT is such a necessary stuff for me. Actually, in his ROM BT stack is the most recent to me, as it controls the headset status auomatically. Everything I tried before (t-spring, Mozilla's) forced me to control if headset is connected. If that BT stack appeared in this ROM - possibly it would be nothing more to wish... till next ROM http://forum.wce.by/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif

But with this new ROM from Mr.PhamQuang, maybe this is the best ROM i've seen

This new ROM was ported from Diamond touch with build 19581, based on ROM 2.11.11

Please note: Since this ROM is based on N. N. Cuong's previous ROM v2.11.11, therefore I believe that this ROM is for G3 devices only, though I might be wrong!

Can any G4 device users confirm if this ROM works on their devices! It has been confirmed by few users that it doesn't work on G4 devices!

Don't try it excpet if u r one of those who have no problem to flash their PPC daily. The only benifit of trying it is to know how fast the uni could be if there is the good managed ROM.

Going back to ranju 7.7, I cannot live with the BT issue, my Sterio Headset disconnects after few minutes, and once, it hanged and I have to wait 2 days till the battery is emptied and can pair it again with the phone.

after using someday ! I realize that the reason causes that my UNI reset suddenly some time is this ROM ! but nothing to doubt that this rom is the fastest rom !

I have absolutly no problems with BT on this rom.
