Then don't do it. As long as a new ROM doesn't give me any real benefit, I will not reflash again. After flashing I spend hours with reinstalling everything back.
And then the next 2-3 days I am only adjusting things here, things there...

You are right. The first Windows Mobile 6 Roms had really big bugs, and after setting up everything you see, that your messages are lost on every softreset. So you had to flash something else and begin from the start again :)

UC helps in these situations! I have it set up:
My email accounts
WiFi
copy my PIM.VOL (contacts info)
install a couple of cabs
configure some file associations for programs I have on my storage card

Hi I3v5y, I uderstand how the UC works with installing CABs, but I've not seen anything on how to setup email accounts, WiFi setup, etc. Can you give me a few hints? or a sample of your .txt file for reference?
Cheers mate!

28th May 2008, 02:32 PM
sure!
It uses xml files!
XML: \Storage Card\Cabs\Gmail.xml
XML: \Storage Card\Cabs\Owner Info.xml
XML: \Storage Card\Cabs\Wifi.xml
RST:RESET
Then for my WiFi:
<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="Wi-Fi">
<characteristic type="access-point">
<characteristic type="The AP SSID">
<parm name="AUTHENTICATION" value="4" />
<parm name="DestID" value="{436EF144-B4FB-4863-A041-8F905A62C572}" />
<parm name="Encryption" value="0" />
<parm name="NetworkKey" value="My WPA-PSK Key" />
</characteristic>
</characteristic>
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>I've edited out the actual codes 'cause I don't really want my network being compromised :p
In the UC thread HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337), there is some more info on the WiFi and E-mail setup.

l3v5y is right. :)
My practice, just rename the nk.nbf to any extention, e.g.
original = nk.nbf (rom A)
change = nk.nbfroma
then put another rom in to the same folder (nk.nbf or l3v5y.nbf, ......... also OK)
Enjoy~~ ( I did learn from l35vy :D)

It's possible to edit the RUUResource.dll file so it only uses nk.nbf or a chosen file name! Currently (by default) it uses *.nbf, so you need to change the extension as well!

I tried ROM S4V.19701.01 (UC) but kept crashing badly...
my opinion is this ROM is fast, stable... really good! maybe the first wm6.1 that works well on prophet.
i miss italian localization, and some tools as pim backup preinstalled.
i had problems with bluetooth, receiving files from PC. i solved this by changing registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Obex]
"ObexServiceMask"=dword:3
"IsEnabled"=dword:1
ObexServiceMask this value can be changed by Settings->Connections-> Beam
and must be checked to work

it's not a bluetooth problem. That is a "must" setting to recieve file over bluetooth in WM 6 and WM6.1

This is strange but I do not think this is ROM problem.
I am using ROM 19701 ROM (previous ROM from Clodyfa) with two WIFI networks.
One is with Linksys router and WEP protection and here the automatic conection do not work. As You said I need to go to setup / connection and manually tell prophet to connect.
In second location I have NETGEAR with WPA2 and there automatick connection works like a charm. Prophet automaticly disconect itself when its going to sleep and connects when waken up.
Have no idea if its protection or router hardware or any other reason...

This is an old WM6 bug concerning only WEP protection. I thought it was cleared some time ago. Appearantly Cloudyfa use some old drivers for WPA2 support and brought this issue back again.

I found another bug :(: The vibration frequency (and maybe also amplitude?) is way too low! I can feel the vibration a little bit, but since its frequency is maybe like 30 Hz or even less you cannot really feel if there is an incoming call. (If you don't know what I mean: normally the vibration is like BRRRRRRR, here it is B...R...R...R...R...R...R) :D
@rasa
I didn't have any software running during the night and today I didn't see any unusual battery drain.
For now I will revert back to the last version and wait for a stable one.

today I received an sms and the phone didn't stop vibrating. I had to use phone settings page and played+stopped the current ringtone to stop it. it may be related with the battery drain issue you experienced.

I have installed this rom and testing it for two days now..hmmm.. its very clean and fast..the only thing i noticed is that the E logo or the EDGE indicator doesn't appear..i don't know it that was a problem..only G is appearing unlike before, in my location, i usually found E here...

Have same with 19701. Only G Symbol after soft-reset / boot.
Solution which works for me. Open Comm Manager and turn off the phone. Turn on the phone again.
Then E / G works perfectly.

today I received an sms and the phone didn't stop vibrating. I had to use phone settings page and played+stopped the current ringtone to stop it. it may be related with the battery drain issue you experienced.
I am using radio rom 2.19
This is my personal experiance....
I also had so many problems like this, after I started flshing using the Hard SPL method, but when I flashed in the old style, like going back to my original WM5 ROM and flashing the WM6.1, then I did not find any problem.
I do not know the reason.
Thanks

Do you have the new SPB Phone Suite installed? That happened on mine with this software.

hope there will be a full and complete edition of ROM for this build..its fast..but very incomplete, and i cant risk installing many apps because it can affect the system which may cause an unofficial rom to become unstable..

This definitely is what happened, I received a text message in that night. Unfortunately I didn't notice the constant vibration since I was sleeping - this must have killed the vibrator, it doesn't work anymore, no matter which ROM I use (as I described in my previous post). So a warning goes out to everyone:
!!This ROM killed my Prophet's vibrator - the same could happen to your phone!!
Is this the first time that a modified ROM damaged the hardware? I've never heard of a similar case. Good thing my phone's only 1 1/2 years old, so I'm still on warranty...

If you're still on warranty, flash the Original ROM and get it repaired.
I think, this is not the ROM directly, but the fact that sometimes WM doesn't turn of the vibration. The only way to stop it is to restart/remove the battery.
It may be that the vibrate motor has just detached it self from the main PCB, or the motor may have just burned out...
Either way, you should be able to get it under warranty, but make sure you flash an original ROM!

Thats what I'm gonna do. Now the motor makes a strange squeaky noise when it starts...so probably it has burned out. Good thing that this happened though, since the Win/Ok - Buttons don't work anymore and my display keeps on making strange noises, so now I have 3 reasons to get the phone fixed. :)
Just to clear something up, I don't blame Cloudyfa for this - he does really great work with his ROMs. I just wanted to warn people that the constant vibration isn't only annoying but also dangerous for the phone. Anyways, this vibration problem only occurred on the 19701 and 19213 ROMs to me.

It's not hard to add one, but it needs a reflash of the ROM.

i had a message in the drafts folder, so i opened it to read it again. i had like 149 chars written but the last sentence seemed to be disappeared. by highlighting and deleting the last shown word the rest of the actual sentence appeared again. and i was scrolling up and down twice to get sure if i had written the sentence to the end before :P
after sending this one my prophet didn't stop vibrating after i got the notification message.

Your ROMs are the best, Cloudyfa, but no Random Access in this one? Is there a cab that will work? Otherwise, I need to stay with 19701 (which isn't such a bad fate!). Also does anyone have the HTC Album cab with English directory option? That would be nice to add in to the clean version too.

net compact framework 3.5 is an integral part of wm6 and 6.1 as far as i know. but you can also easily update wm5 by the standalone installer which can be found here:
