8310 wifi trouble

whenever i connect to my wifi network i can only surf for a few minutes, or a few links.
then the phone cannot open any more pages.

anyone ever encounter this problem?

tell us about your wm version or ROM you are using. give some hints about your WiFi connection, like encryption etc.

rom version is not relevant, because i had this problem even with the original rom, orignal radio etc.

radio version at the moment is 4.1.13.28_02.61.01
rom is 5.2.19195 (build 19195.1.0.0)
one of the first 6.1 roms available and still very nice.

i use an e-tech wifi modem/router with wep encryption.
