Installation:
How to install a cooked ROM.
Install ELF Update SPL (USPL) v1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320155) or ELFIN Update SPL (USPL) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=372152)
Put device in bootloader mode (Reset + Camera button).
Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe.
After update you have to wait for 2/3 minutes till your device reset.
Now you are ready to use your WM 6.1

Final Notes:
This ROM is free to use but at your own risk, I take no responsiblity for any conflict, fault, or damage caused by this flashing procedure.
Do not try to restore your backups from a previous ROM.
This is an international forum so speak English.

1) MediaPlayer does not close with [X]
It's a bug of WkTask. For test disable WkTask enable HTC TaskManager run MediaPlayer keep [X] pressed all is ok
2) CommManager from menu impostazioni LAN Wireless does not run
you have to change in registry the key:
[HLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN]
Default="\Windows\WLanSettings.exe"
3) YouTubePlay failed to play video
Copy the file youtubeplay.exe from \windows to another directory (\programmi\youtubeplay). Redirect the lnk file in windows\start menu\programmi\applicazioni to the new location.

I use that version of battery status because it does not need to much memory.
I'll ask you a test: can you tell me the amount of free memory after running Oxios CloseApps?

It's very simple this is an italian ROM so directory are different from WWE also MUI and some DLL.
StartUp directory is named in the italian ROM Esecuzione Automatica so if those software does not read system variable they can not execute correctly on a different ROM than WWE. :)

A think to say is that the naked version does not have a lot of dll files.
Those dll are used from HTC programs like Home etc. I'll test S2UnLock with the full ITA ROM. ;)

For the keyboard you can use the standard one: unzip and copy the attached file in windows directory with TotalCMD.
For the Camera Album with TotalCMD go in \Windows\Star Menu\Programmi\Applicazioni\ on the link "Album Fotocamera" select Proprietà go on Collegamento and delete "-mode:camera -type:image" select OK.

Yes you can find the original cab or you can install this italian CAB (http://rapidshare.com/files/93917553/HTCCube_FTouchFlo_TFloCubeCtrlv110_Config-xplode_ITA_by_fra_indovino.CAB) it's the FTouchFlo edition. (Remember you have to delete the key HKLM/Software/OEM/MASD/QuickDial then soft reset to have 6 tabs on HTC Home). I tested the FTouchFLO on my ROM and it works well (on the start you have to set wktask or close [X] on the right top). I have 21,3 MB free after installation.

I'm testing standard edition. After flashing i've installed "my mobiler" latest version. After reboot memory is 21,38MB.
Now i want to install htc cube.

I've installed htc cube, delete the reg key for 6 tabs in htc home and reboot, disabled "wktask manager" from startup.
Memory is 19,97.

After launch oxios hibernate e oxios closeapps memory is 20.78 MB.

1- in connect manager menu -> setting-> the menu "wireless LAN" dont work

2 - in change the skin in start setting today for apply completely
the change you must restart the phone

problem - at the first boot the phone not autoconfigure the internet connection setting, you must go to setting -> connections and run "network wizard"

there are little bug/roblem good wook is thenk you for job

In the V2 standard version, Adobe Reader LE is already present.
You can find it in Windows directory. Use total commander and create a shortcut in Windows\Start Menu\Programmi.

If I start it from here with TotalCommander it runs correctly. :eek:

I have to test it on wifi. The program on edge failed to play video. I suppose is something with the program because the one that I attach is the same version 1.0.0.7 but different and it works well :confused:

Ok solved !!! copy the file youtubeplay.exe from \windows to another directory (\programmi\youtubeplay). Redirect the lnk file in windows\start menu\programmi\applicazioni to the new location. That's all... (I don't know but the exe can not be located in windows directory :confused:)

What a TotalCMD version..Why dont u operate on your Touch directly!? Well, u can choose another Sip (Riconoscitore naturale e.g.) before u overwrite msimit.96.dll, so keyboard will not be in use in the while

As Druid80 replay, you have to copy the file on your PDA (ie. in My Documents), now operate on your PDA, and with TotalCMD you have to copy the file msimit.96.dll to windows directory. Then soft reset you Elf. :)

The WM 6.1 OS 5.2.19588 is the last official update for HTC Diamond. The difference between builds is not so evident you have to test them. A new version is not always the best for your PDA.
My personal best version for WM 6.1 on Elf at this moment are the 19199 and the 19202. For example with 19213 I have less free memory. Now I'll test this new build 19588 also to change the graphics of our Elf with Diamond one. Stay tuned! :)

Well I test Gs alarm and it's a little application with good function. Alc2008 it's an advanced clock but it need to much memory. So I'll insert in my next rom the first one.

On my elf the bluetooth works well. I use it for GPS and for sharing files and I have not notice problems, anyway the bluetooth program is the original one BTFtp=1.2.30736.1. Just a question: do you have upgaded your radio? If you have the original one you can have problems. In this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396422) you can find the last one (also Radio Version 03.08.90 it's a good choice). Normally in my ROMs I don't include USPL/SPLASH/RADIO upgrade but if you need I can include them in my next ROM. Cesare66

When the phone starts for the first time after ROM upgrade you have to setup you touch screen. I have tried to repeat the operation for a second time and all works well on my elf. :confused:
Do you have installed a new shell like pointui or the spb one?

Just a question...in the old version (but I think also in the newer 3.1 version), when I write an SMS, there's a grey line up the "block recognizer" where there are the suggested words. Can I disable this funcionality ?

Just one thing...are you aware that in your last release the battery status software overclocks the CPU by default at 249 ? Did you do that on purpose? I had to manually downclock it at the standard speed.
At least that is what happened when i've installed it on my device.
Is it safe to keep the clock speed higher by default?

(Poi ovviamente dipende da palmare a palmare...)


Don't worry, try the frequence which fits better for your needs....
My own Touch is clocked to 260mhz, but it can also run at 299mhz without any problem...

Yes I "overclock" the ROM by default, as you have done people can set their Elf without overclock by setting it in BatteryStatus.

Yes it's the T9 line from the new HTC keyboard+keypad. You have to use as default SIP the standard keyboard or don't use T9.

Start writing the name then use "Menu/Controlla nomi" to complete the name.

This way for me it is the right way to create a new account:

On today screen go to mail (first on the left)
Menu->Strumenti->Nuovo account...
Fill with your data (don't try to download your account data from internet)
Then you have to choice "Posta elettronica via internet"
On next pages you have POP3 or IMAP

That's weird...I've followed your procedure but still i couldn't select the options i wanted because after the first screen of the configuration in which he asks for email address and password it tries straight to auto-configure my account, setting the IMAP protocol. So I tried to insert a mispelled address, mine is a yahoo.it one, so i put my username@yahoo omitting ".it" so the wizard procedure would not start automatically, i unchecked the option to try to obtain automatically the settings and here we go..it was done :) Thank you for the hints..i'll post this message in italian too 'cos maybe in english I wasn't so clear.

Dicevo che seguendo la tua procedura, dopo il primo step in cui inserivo indirizzo di posta elettronica e password, la procedura guidata per ottenere i settaggi partiva da sola...Cosi' ho provato a scrivere un indirizzo di posta sbagliato... ho tolto ".it" dopo yahoo, cos' la procedura non è partita automaticamente, e ho potuto togliere la spunta dove mi chiedeva di autoconfigurare il tutto, ed ho scelto i settaggi giusti che mi servivano.
Insomma pare che se nella prima schermata gli metti un indirizzo coerente, lui lo configura automaticamente senza chiederti se vuoi farlo manualmente, e ti mette il settaggio IMAP che poi non va bene..

Yes, it is...

NAKED means an empty rom, without any custom program.
You can install the apps you want.... And personalize it for your needs....

After the upgrade, I installed Mortscript and Touchpal.... I still have up to 25,5 mb of free ram....:) And about 33,5 mb of device space....


I've only a problem: I'm not able to see the "recent used programs list" (in the START menu)... After every reboot, that list is empty.....
Any solution?

1) In "advanced configuration tool" you have to set hide the sim contacts but don't reboot. If you reboot before 20/30 min the change will be rollbacked.
This is the registry key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone]
"ShowSIM"=dword:00000001 ->0 to disable, 1 to enable.

If you want you can use RStein program (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=59679&d=1196184906) to hide SIM contacts (I don't have tested it).

2) Yes theme function it's ok on 3.1

It's normal. There is a program on startup that clean all temp variable "\Windows\Esecuzione automatica\StartClean.lnk" delete/move it.

Ok, it works.....

Just found 2 bugs:

1) If I set a different keyboard (Touchpal) instead of the standard one (HTc keyboard) in IMPOSTAZIONI-> IMMISSIONE, this setting isn't saved correctly, everytime after a soft-reset HTC KEYBOARD is the first keyboard you see..... This is a bit annoying... Any chance to fix it?

2) How can I come back from using "BARRE NERE" (which you can see from PROGRAMMI->ACCESSORI)??

3) PsShutXP doesn't swtich off the device...


PS:This rom is amazing.... After a daily use I still have 23/24mb of free ram....:D
Perhaps it's fast, stable and applications like WIFI work pretty well (no problem using MODALITA' ALIMENTAZIONE -> BATTERIA MIGLIORE (I had lots of problems on WM 6.0 running this setting).....


PS2: Just to let you know:

I restored all my contacts, calendar items and all my SMS (4890 messages! :D) without any problem using PIM BACKUP.....;)

Just now I have tested Gullum Throttle Diamond ITA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406148). A good ROM to have Diamond interface on our italian Elf. It's not perfect but I like it ;).

I wish a reccomend... Which ROM do you prefer? obviously between C66 V3.1 and Throttle Diamond... I'm undecided in this moment because in my opinion Throttle Diamond is more beautiful but it seem heavy (less quick than C66)...
I don't have specific request but if Throttle diamond is slow I will decide to install C66 v3.1 to my Touch elf...

Hi boys, excuse me for my basic english...
I wish a reccomend... Which ROM do you prefer? obviously between C66 V3.1 and Throttle Diamond... I'm undecided in this moment because in my opinion Throttle Diamond is more beautiful but it seem heavy (less quick than C66)...
I don't have specific request but if Throttle diamond is slow I will decide to install C66 v3.1 to my Touch elf...

Just a suggestion: Test the two ROMs by yourself (they have a very different interface) you don't neet to much time to discover which is for your use the better choice :D

No but you can install it after. It's better to install it after rom installation, in this way you can have opera installed on your memory card.

With Htc keyboard, keypad or touch diamond keyboard ecc (in all languages)

1) does not remember words when i add a custom word;
2) does not remember the priorities of choice of words with the same letters

Perhaps not find the path to the custom dictionary and settings files!?

Problem solved!!!
For those who have the same problem:

I Have overwrited this 3 read only ROM files with a non read only version (an archive version)

eT9Rudb.Rdb
eT9Cdb.Cdb
eT9AsDb.Adb

1) Copy files from windows to another location
2) Change attributes from read only to archive
3) Overwrite files in windows folder (Now the files are not in rom)
4) If are still read only you have to change again in Archive (Now you can becouse files are not in rom)

PS you can save et9 priorities of the words and personalized words when you change rom :)

"Batteria migliore" it's my standard setting for wifi and all it's ok with it. I have installed Radio version 03.21.90.
Test your wifi with middle setting your battery will not discharge so fast. :)

My Elf with correct settings can be discovered by other phone.
If I send a file to a Nokia phone all it's ok.
If I have to receive a file from Nokia the Nokia it's not able to send it to me.
If the Nokia phone is setting to give the right to read files on itself my phone can read all file and transfert from Nokia the file I want to receive.
In the past days I had tested Broadcom Bluetooth on Elf but I can not be able to find a version compatible with Elf.

I can recieve a jpeg from my Nokia N71 and i can send the same jpeg to my Nokia N71. ROM C66 v3.1 with radio v03.21.90.

I've a problem. In the night i use my elf for listen to music with media player, set the time to reset the phone in xpshutdown (media player not have a timer to close app and stop music) and set in alarmclock the time for the alarm (fortunally after the reset the alarm is always on). after a few hour the in-ear headphones fall down the alarm ring... BUT IT RINGS IN IN-EAR HEADPHONES, NOT TO SPEAKER, SO I CAN'T EAR ANYTHING!!! AND I'M LATE TO WORK!!! :-(

HOW TO RING ALARM BOTH IN SPEAKER AND IN-EAR HEADPHONES?

Hello everybody.
I'm using an HTC Touch (Elf) since more than two years. I also successfully cooked different roms on it, without any problem. Actually, I'm using the Cesare one.

But, I noticed a problem.

I normally use a Bluetooth headset (Plantronics 640) to make/receive calls. Normally phone is always in Vibrate mode.

So, when I finish a call (no matter if received or done) using the Bluetooth headset, my Elf goes from vibrate to silent mode.

This happens ONLY when using the Bluetooth headset: it never happens when I don't use it.

As you can imagine, this is very annoying.

I also found a post on this external forum (http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/htc-touch-touch-dual/113691-using-bluetooth-headset-makes-phone-go-into-silent-mode.html) where some people encounter the same problem with different phones/headsets, but nobody has helped them.

Does anybody have an idea how to solve it or which app caused it?
