You need to download AP 4.0 rom and run it as exactly told in the instructions, Follow them to the letter or you may mess up. Once thats loaded you can either run that rom or try the new AP 5.0 beta. once you have AP 4.0 on your athena you will have SPL 3.5 on as well. However you cant go back to using shipped rom's without using a SPL 3.5 type rom or swapping your SPL back, and I dont know how that is done.
Just read up first before doing anything!!!!

No worries, But I cant stress the read the instructions first bit enough. No end of people have had problems by jumping the gun, including me!! I didnt take out my SD card and by the time I had realised what had happened it was to late. You can normaly get the rom onto your athena if you mess up, but you usualy end up without WiFi. so then that has to be sorted. Pawel and Irus have made some very good roms on SPL 3.5 and irus has added an HTC shipped rom if you want to go back to basics.

I'm not sure if you need WM 6.0 first, but if your ok with flashing roms then do WM 6.0 first!

And its a matter of personal choice if you want the roms or not. read the contents of them and make a choice. Pawels roms 4.0 and 5.0 are from the x7510 so about as good as you get. Irus roms are WM 6.1 so also very up to date. You do get a few minor bugs in cooked roms though.

Flash AP4 - just follow the instructions and it will all work.
AP5 is still beta (but a very good one)
Or you could just flash one of irus' ROMS but I'd recommend AP4

You misunderstood, if flashing AP 4.0 goes WRONG then you end up with WiFi not working till its fixed! If you do everything right then everything runs well!

You will get a bug or two on any cooked rom, even shipped roms have them. but read the thread and you can see most have a cure!

As responderman said - it only doesn't work if you don't follow the instructions. Follow them and it works.
If you can't follow instructions don't flash your phone.

man i think i am in to asking it that i am new with this 1 i had flsh't all my ppc but this 1 i didn't yet so i am like on a bit confused what to do and if i do it what Rom is best i know that i had Kaiser i liket the WM6.1 on it and for me to go beck to WM 6.0 is a big problem thats why i am in to asking all of that thing's !!:cool:

I think it's better to unlock only to spl1.2 and not 3.5 because spl3.5 device cannot come back to 1.2 at the moment. With spl3.5, you can only use ap3, ap4, and ap5, not not the stock rom.AP4 and 5 has many unresolved issues at the moment, so some users found themselves having to use ap3 at the end.

A smarter strategy is to go spl1.2, and you can use pk1, pk2, pk3, irus vanilla, irus lite, irus full, irus AP4, stock rom (many versions here), wm5 (technically possible, but I know of only one user who prefers that). Irus ROM is faster than AP4 and 5, according to a user who had used both. SPL1.2 leaves you with more memory too.

Ap5 in spl1.2 will very soon be available. Many spl3.5 users are waiting for the tool to come back to spl1.2, and they would love the chance to make this choice of spl once again.

Have a look at all the info on the several flavors of rom available for the Athena based decvices, choose the rom you feel fits your needs, take your time and follow the instructions (what ever rom you choose have a look at the ap4 wiki because it covers some issues that are WM6.1 related and are not AP4 unique) as with all cooked roms there may be some issues but if you follow instructions you should be fine (as already stated if you go with AP4 and upgrade to the new SPL 3.5 you can't go back for now, the AP team is working on a path back to the factory roms).
