So I've been trying to revive my 838pro for a few weeks now, It's got the NO GSM, boots to OS fine issue which seems to plague many people.
I'm just wondering how many of you out there have the same or similar (GSM/Radio ceased functioning) problem, I know it's lots but I've made a poll here so we can tabulate some figures. Surely if it's a large enough problem we can do something about it legally? Or at least get some assistance/guidance from HTC?
I know alot of people have been spending alot of their spare time on this and I'm not trying to belittle or disregard your threads by starting a new one, but this is really the thread for people who have tried EVERYTHING! (I even dissassembled the unit, desoldered the backup battery and soaked it in some soapy water for awhile!)
So, if you've tried all the radio upgrades/downgrades, hardware/software/voodoo tricks and still come up with zilch, vote yes.

I bought a phone with a trashed radio rom but with hundreds of flashes to my current phone haven't had a problem yet.. all I can say is these three things: charged battery, stable computer, and don't touch the damn phone or cable while its flashing! ;)

This doesn't explain why so many people are experiencing call drop-outs and other GSM failures that continue to get worse until it just dies and won't be revived, even people who've never upgraded the ROM.

Surely we can at least narrow down the faulty component?

nope, gradual radio death, once it was approaching unusable i tried flashing and the radio area just won't flash, even if it's in the fridge upside-down and coated in sacrificial lamb's blood.

i can still flash my phone but the radio gets disconnected specially when i'm trying to make a call. if i'm out of the coverage area for too long, my phone won't reconnect to the network when all the other phones reconnected without problems! and i get a very low signal too. 709sc gets 3 bars while my phone get 1 or 2 bars only T_T Lately, it won't connect to the softbank network even if i turn on/off the radio.
did any experienced this? maybe i should just brick this damn phone and ask for a replacement? i tried to get it repaired but since its already sim unlocked, HTC refuses to repair it.
