Oi. That was my expedition to the store. Ah, well, I'm on the list of people they're going to contact when they have some. Hehe...One guy remembered that I purchased my Touch there a year ago...
INKINO do tend to get these devices first, in London

The websites shipping to uk are saying 6h june, 9th june or 19th june.
I suspect that friday 6th june and monday 9th june are the same, and maybe the sites that got stock from the first supply to the uk. That sounds consistent with the sites saying 6th/9th, as they have had stock first with previous devices. The 19th June sounds like stock from the second round of supply to the UK.
I've pre-ordered from htcdirect.co.uk for the 6th, because i saw it before incino and a friend has used them before. I would probably recommend using inkino first only because they are listed on the htc page as official sellers.

T-Mobile will release the MDA Compact IV fully branded T-Mobile the first week in July. However I can see ther being some problems as always with T-Mobile and it will probably be middle to end of July early August.

Hi,
Thank you for contacting devicewire.com
We will be the first site in the UK to offer the HTC Touch Diamond and the date has been provided directly by HTC.
We will be offering the 192MB version, but have not yet been given details on any accessories.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Regards,

Subject: Question about HTC Touch Diamond availability
Hello,
I am very interested in purchasing HTC Touch Diamond once it is available. As a matter of fact I would pre-order it if you could answer me how certain you are that you will have them in stock on June 9th? I am asking this because most of the other retailer sites state that they will have it on June 19th.
Also I would like to know is it going to be a retail version with 192 MB and not 128 MB of RAM memory? Will you have that excellent HTC slip case available, also, since it is not included in the box?

On the Go Solutions http://www.onthegosolutions.com/ is showing a release date of June 6 and a price of $US870 for an unlocked US version. Their website states triband 3G, which I guess would be the Europe/Asia 900/2100 MHz plus the US 1900 MHz, and triband GSM, which I guess is 900/1800/1900 MHz and not the 850 MHz needed for the US.
I have emailed them and asked for clarification, but received no response to date.

I don't know what country you are in, but at least over here (Netherlands) you can renew your contract through an external phone shop. That is how I get all my phones. I'm with T-Mobile as well, but their MDA series has always been late and usually somewhat pinkish. Also, T-Mobile deserves a freakin' award for making the absolute worst and ugliest themes ever conceived by anyone outside of an asylum. Anyways, you go to one of those stores (they are usually online shops, not real shops), they can get you any phone you want (except the branded versions), while renewing your contract and getting you the 'contract renewal' discount.
I don't know in which countries this is possible, though, but it might be worth for you to look around for this.

I don't know wether what you say with the batches is true or not, but the shop that's renewing my contract and delivering the Diamond to me used to have a release date of June 17th, IIRC. They informed me two weeks ago it would be delivered on June 6 instead. Maybe HTC pushed the date up? Just thought I'd mention it.

Update:
I spoke with the folk at On the Go Solutions and they confirm the Diamond they are presently offering for sale in the US is the European/Asian version of the product. Thus, the presently-released product does not support either the 1900 MHz US-band 3G function or the 850 MHz US-band GSM function. So, if you're in the US and you buy this particular version of the product, you will not have 3G data and your phone coverage will be less than optimum.

Maybe a not very apropriate question for this thread, but is the UK version the same as WWE? If it is, it should be in theory less hassle when playing with ROMs? Or not really? I've spotted also an "Europe English" version shipping on 20th June (expansys.pl).
I'm asking this, because where I live (Poland) the phone will arrive in July, and probably won't have the best price tag :) UK seems to be the best choice, cause it's EU and i can have it without VAT.

Interestingly, many shops had a Diamond on view; presumably demo stock only though.
