I've (by mistake) got rid of the security unlock screen. I installed Windows Mobile 6.1 (in Spanish) which is the original HTC and now I have a lovely black start screen which says something like 'Smart Mobility'.

All fixed, downgraded to the 15 radio (as someone already said to do a few pages back :redface:) did the trick.

I flashed the original HTC rom and it had no security unlock screen, then flashed salvy's rom with has no splashscreen and It has gone now. I am now going to flash another rom as I hate manilla and see if the security unlock has gone....

....watch this space. :)

after i tried my step one, the installation stopped at 95 and an error occured... When i tried to use the error recovery, it worked and goes back to the red, green blue screen but my activesync was not able to have a green light connection..

And when i re-run the NikiCustomRUU.exe, it is not able to detect the USB connection.. pls advice

Ive used Niki SuperCID and Security Unlocker and now have a problem with the USB of the phone.

I have now HardSPL 1.16 with radio 1.58.16.27, but when i try to flash rom HardSPL 1.22 the phone reboots goes to three color mode and activesync disconnects with as a result the romflash to 1.22 failes.

Can anyone tell me what the problem is? did i do the Niki SuperCID and Security Unlocker wrong? and how can i solve this problem?

If yes, can u install new rom with a softreset from sd, simply renaming the file nbh: NIKEIMG.nbh (in a root of sd)

Fails the connection, then i have to redo the hardsp to get anything working

I have done everything except putting back original radio rom, i figured why when with the latest official HTC rom i'll get original, newer (it would overwrite it anyway).
So i have successfully flashed it with HTC Touch Dual_APAC_RUU_Nike_HKCSL_WWE_2.16.831.3_Radio_Nike MR_1.65.29.22_signed_Ship but it remains SIM locked. It asks for code.
What did i do wrong? That skiped step or something else?

I've got it ! Great work JockyW. Now even the dutch KPN version of the Niki is simfree :)

I was stuck at 95% flashing the custom radio. Solution for that is to downgrade the radio first to 1.58 and then flash the special radio. Afterwards i flashed the special "S" rom, hope to see it working well ! Unlock worked fine then !

My HTC NIKI100 was unlocked for any carrier through the IMEI code, it also has the original radio 1.58.21.26. Perform the installation process of HARDSPL 1:22 as the tutorial here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355730 and got success! now I can put a new radio or need to do the procedures as SuperCID here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395945 ???

thanks i have succesfully unlocked a nike1200 thanks if some one has problem in the last step then plug the usb and unplug it and wait for 10 to 30 seconds and uncheck allow usb connection and then run step2 everything will be fine

yes just follow the instructions, a few things to remember when reseting your device, there is a small hole nest to the usb, you will need to push it up with your stylus pen while holding the camera, and hitting the power button to go into boot loader mode. Second for all those stuck around step 6. When in bootloader mode unplug the USB and the plug it back in (WAIT FOR TEN SECONDS) and then run the "Niki-supercid.exe. Hope this does help someone.

I have successfully executed the explanations and now my Niki100 is "sim unlocked" :D.

But now, I little problem is that I have no sound at all even if the volume is to the maximum (system and ringstone).

I can't listen a MP3, no sound when i navigate and when I receive a call it doesn't ring...
No error message...
I can hear clearly during the call and they can hear me, no problem on this.

Any idea ??

I installed what I thought was hardspl1.15mfg, but the tri-colour bootloader screen shows it to be 1.16hard - it appears that the download for hardspl1.15mfg is actually 1.16hard - I've downloaded it several times to check.

Apologies to all but this was a problem on my part. I HAD simply renamed the file extension on the 1.16 nbh file from the flash-hard-spl-niki to e.g nbh_old before copying in the 1.15mfg nbh file, and the RUU program for some reason still picked up the renamed one. After I deleted it and re-did the hardspl all was OK.

I have a strange problem on my niki. I updated the Radio to the one supplier in the Niki-SuperCID-Security-Unlocker. Then I tried to unlock it but unfortunately i used HardSPL 1.22 and not 1.15 so it did not work. So i ran sspl-1.16-nike.exe and ROMUpdateUtility.exe again to flash it to HardSPL 1.15MFG.

This worked but since then i cannot enter the bootloader by pressing the camera + power button anymore.

After this i changed back to 1.22 and ran the official update to WM 6.1 by HTC, all worked without problems and the niki is working without problems in WM6.1, but i stll cant access the bootloader.

This is my corrent software version:
ROM: 2.12.871.2
ROM date: 09/22/08
Radio: 1.65.29.22
Protocol: 25.100.40.08H
SPL: I think 1.22 but i am not sure as i cant check it in the bootloader

You will have problems running the unlocker otherwise. Log in as administrator if you run the ROM update tool and unlocker. That also applies to XP users.

Instructions
============
1. Make sure you installed HardSPL 1.15 MFG If you did not install 1.15 yet follow instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355730
To verify if HardSPL is correctly installed: power off and then press power on while keeping camera pressed, this will enter the so called bootloader mode and you see a tri-color screen (Red, Green, Blue). You should see "SPL-1.15.Hard" on the second line in the top left corner. You can exit this mode by means of a "soft reset": press the reset button with the stylus.

2. Make a note of the radio version that is currently installed. You see the version strings in the splash screen which appears soon after power on (e.g. "R 1.58.16.27"). Since we will flash a special radio in step 5 you need to flash back your original radio in the last step. You can download radio roms from XDA devs here:

3. Connect PC and Niki with a USB cable and keep it connected until the last step.

4. Power on the Niki and let it boot into Windows Mobile. On the PC make sure the activesync icon is green.

5. After you unpacked the download you see directories "step1" and "step2". Go into "step1" and run NikiCustomRUU.exe. This will flash the special patched radio rom. Follow the instructions until it is finished. IMPORTANT: Make sure that the flash correctly finished. The device will restart automatically once the flashing is completed.

6a. Power off and power on in tri-color bootloader mode.
6b. Unplug and replug usb cable and wait 10 seconds

7a. right-click activeync icon and uncheck "Allow USB connections" from Connection Settings
7b. On your PC go into the "step2" directory and run "Niki-supercid.exe".

You should see this:

Edit: Niki Security Relocker

Some users with a security unlocked device would like to relock it again e.g. for warranty purposes. Unzip niki-relock.exe from the attached niki-relock.zip into the "step2" directory of the security unlocker (in the same directory there should be niki-supercid.exe). Carry out the same steps as for the security unlocker but in step 7b run niki-relock.exe

Please I've followed everything as mentioned exactly.

I've stucked at step number 3.

Each time I run the NikiCustomRUU.exe it takes me through the following steps:

Just answered you on your thread, if you done everything ok and it wont work, flash your original rom and radio first and after that try again.

Btw after flashing the original rom you don't have to go back to the hardspl stuff.

Turn off allow usb connection on active sync then it should start and once finished click back allow connections

I finally found some time to post this, it's been on my desk since February.

It worked on my NIKI100 locked on Orange Romania.
I had a few obstacles on my operation, but all of them were only my mistakes.
For step 5 I used RUU Nike Radio 1.58.21.23S Modded (Save Power and have better Network Connection!) "Highly Recommended" and I didn`t put back my original radio version back.
Now one question for you guys...: What radio version and what ROM is recommended for my device? I`m new here and this was my first work on my phone.

Downgrade your radio to an 1.5xxxx version and then you can use the 1.71 I think you wanna try that one, otherwise just download an original rom by example 2.16 which include radio 1.65.29.22 and then you also have an upgraded radio.

Maybe but I wouldn't go for that solution at the moment I think it is better to delete mobile device center or active sync and try again.

really important:
- HardSPL 1.15 MFG - afterwards you can install 1.22
- if current radio is 1.65.28.25 or higher, then downgrade to a lower ROM version like RUU_Nike_Radio_1.58.21.23_25.65.30.04S_Modded
- then do all the steps as described in first post

i did all steps in windows 7
except step 2 (Niki-supercid.exe) - i did this step with a clean windows xp without active sync...

when i run niki-relock.exe nothing happens, only the black windows appears an thats all. no changes.

Finally niki-relock.exe worked. I think. It said so when i did this.
When my phone was unlocked...I had the "Security Unlocked" message on top of the screen when i was turning on the device.
Now after relock i don`t see that message anymore but my phone still accepts other SIM cards from other neworks.

I guys,just a tip for all who can´t unlock your niki, the unlocker works only with
HardSPL 1.15 MFG so if you have HardSPL 1.22 just do this:

Slightly confused!!

Get to this step: 2. Make a note of the radio version that is currently installed. You see the version strings in the splash screen which appears soon after power on (e.g. "R 1.58.16.27"). Since we will flash a special radio in step 5 you need to flash back your original radio in the last step. You can download radio roms from XDA devs here:

EDIT: if your current radio version is 1.65.28.25 or higher you should first downgrade to a lower ROM version like RUU_Nike_Radio_1.58.21.23_25.65.30.04S_Modded.

But that thread says you need an unlocked phone to downlaod that radio!

My radio version is R 1.65.28.25

It is just the way you read it, what jockyw2001 ment is that if you have 1.65 or higher, you have to use 1.58 modded in step 5.

Disable active sync under allow connections, or delete it completly, then put your phone in bootloader by pressing the camera button and the on off button on the same time, connect to your computer, wait untill your computer reconize the usb connection, then flash your radio.

Hi, I completed step 1 without any problems. Now the thign reads 1.27.12.11 and when I try to run the step 2 file, - yes, I have minimiezd the wmdc, not turned it off, followed instructions properly - a box pops up briefly n before I can read it, disappears.

I tried to flash back original ROM 1.58.16.27 now I am getting error 244 PLease Plese help!!

So, my feedback now. Heh, 2 years passed from the forst quote ) The thing is, that yesterday I did not even know anything about SPL's, bootloaders, custom Freeware etc. But I wanted to make myselve 6.5. I own HTC Niki 100 and several days ago I updated it from WM.6.0 to WM 6.1 from HTC webpage.

So, what i did today:

1. HardSPL'd 1.15.
(That was pretty easy, nothing wrong went here)

2. Niki-SuperCID-Security-Unlocker
(Thas was awfull on step 1, where I had on 95% 262 Connection Error. So i started reading and searching this forum and realized, that I missed up with Radio Versions [Actually due to my english I simply missunderstood the instructions. I thought that old Radio will be installed automatically] Ok, so I had Radio 1.65.28.25 and I simply downgraded it to 1.58.16.27. After that everything went fine.

Had some issue when proceeding with Step 2. Niki-supercid.exe had anly two first rows without doing anything. But I managed to fix this way:

1. Enter in BOOTMODE
2. UNplug the USB cable for about 10 seconds.
3. Plug back in the cable
4. As fast as you can right click Active Sync and disable USB connection.
5. Launch Niki-supercid.exe

This way it shall run 100%. Don't know why.

That's all. Then I updated back my original RADIO version and then flashed Radio 1.71.09.01.

After that, final step, flashed HSPL 1.22



Finally I got in my BOOTLOADER this:


"Security Unlocked"

NIKI 100
SPL-1.22.Hard
CPLD-4
----------------------------------

What I need now is to find how-to, why-to and want to install WM6.5. I'm crazy about a number of builds, don't know which to install... but i'll try to manage the situation =)

You did everything the right way, to flash a wm 6.5 rom you can just search on the Niki forum, are take a look in my signature I made a couple of roms but you can also take a look in the WIKI (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Niki_Cooked_ROMS), the only thing you have to keep in mind is that you need a radio above 1.65 for a wm 6.5 rom.

Actually I'm looking for a simple ROM, would be nice without any software pre-installed like manila, etc. I can install them later, can't I? Found only one problem in this DJ Rom, that I'm using "RESCO KEYBOARD" (cause I need russian language), in WM 6.0 and WM 6.1 everything was ok, but in WM 6.5 I cannot get into RESCO KEYBOARD settings. But I'll continue trying =)

I've got only one question to you. Yes, I read here that I can flash from my SD Card, but can you please tell me, if I'm going to try a lot of roms, WHY it is better to install from an SD CARD, not via USB? Cause of probable connection problems during flashing?

It's just better for your phone, I don't really know why, but I can tell you that I flash a lot of rom's because of the cooking disease :p I have, and my experience is that when I flash a rom to my phone from my computer that after 10 times I have to put back an original rom because my phone is acting weird, (softreset becomes hardreset and more strange issues) so I decided to go for the sd flashing and I'll do that for more then three months without getting back to an original rom.
I can tell you a small secret, I flash my Niki every day and sometimes 7 times a day.
So that's why. :D
