That message on UL is not about the data connection. UL is not free. BS westher I noticed that the second city isn't giving the right data when I looked a little harder. Not sure why, I will check if anything in the xml file needs changed and get back to you on that.

I checked the default.xml file in BS. Good find on your part. A couple of the lines had city 1 in the place where it should have city 2. I also changed the time desplayed for the first city and have it displaying the name as in the second city. I named this file defaultbak.xml in the zip file below. You will need to rename the defaultbak.xml to default.xml and put it in your \windows\Batterystatus directory to replace the old one. Hope this helps.

with the threaded sms you can always switch back to the old style.. in my sig theres a link to cab files and i think i have the sms tweaker on there if not i will put it up there later on tonight when i get off work...
htc weather does work through the proxy - check the develper and hacking thread for the fix on that...
bs weather does work but you have to put the codes to the city you are in per the instructions and you have to change both.

UL ..... You can purchase it then that goes away.

SMS/MMS ... You can write a better program for all of us .

I realize that UL is not a free application. Perhaps it can be set up so that it doesnt verify its activation when a data connection is present on the device. My phone has a constant data connection with the 30 min time interval for email sync. Yes it is possible to press the activation button within the application and the message disappears, but im not doing that every 30 mins. And since I wont be purchasing UL the remedy for the topbar within UL wont work for me.

Htc weather works now. If anybody needs the information.

The settings I refer is discussed in post 4. I was searching for another solution outside of UL, a method that requires no user input basically. I chose to use the softkey hoping something better was available.

That´s a BSweather problem that´s why i included HTC aHome also...BS is not working with proxy....

you can check bsweather if you can set proxy to 1 - but i don´t think so..

I deleted connect wizard on newer (not released version) cause some ahve problems -MANY have .cab and it takes 1,6MB store ;)

I took your advice and it does work. Please add this to the first page so that everyone knows.

if you don´t want the SIMcontacts to be shown...just use Advanced Config...or search for "Showsim" in registry and set it to "0"...

I would only like to see the contacts without any calls registered on the dialer keypad screen. Option 1 also includes speed dial which I also would not like displayed.

Ive searched the HTC/Phone folder in registry, no luck. The dialer itself has no options. I found the original cab, but that got me nowhere. Pmed cloudy, perhaps that might get me on the right path.

You will need to create a custom dialer then mate. What you want is all custom.

why not just install pocketcm, and make it you right softkey so you can access your contacts that way. the oem dialer wouldnt let you view contact only either, so what you are asking for is something that needs to be developed.

Actually this would not need to be developed. Its a function in code that tells the dialer what to display. In view option 1 contacts is already written in this function. So removing the portion that displays the calls and speed dial would only provide the dialer information on contacts.

Perhaps somebody knows how to disable all 3 views?

since you know thats how to disable it by removing the word contacts .. experiment and tell us if it works for you, you might be onto something Watson..

2nd: Read all

3rd: read HARD-SPL

4th: read again!!!

5th: read again!!

6th: mabye start thinking about flashing BUT

7th - 10th: read ALL AGAIN!!

Place the NBH file into the Ruu folder for the USPL method of flashing. No need for hard spl.

If you have a wing, I would recommend flashing the new T-Mobile rom first to get the updated IPL/SPL and radio.

This method worked perfectly for me.

Besides that, Since i am lazy and didn't feel like loading up my phone with hard spl. If you just use flash center to auto load the hard spl then run papa's utility it works wonderfully. You just use the command and don't launch the RUU in flash center. It's what i have been doing since in my mind its easier since i only flash once every couple weeks or so. Anyone have any links to sites with good games? I've been browsing freewarepocketpc but not really getting anywhere in games that i actually like or are fun to play.

You just use the command and don't launch the RUU in flash center. It's what i have been doing since in my mind its easier since i only flash once every couple weeks or so. Anyone have any links to sites with good games? I've been browsing freewarepocketpc but not really getting anywhere in games that i actually like or are fun to play.

and If you include the diamond keyboard, you lose the function of name suggest and word sugest ( when writting emails and sms msgs - basically any type of word completion on the device unless you use the diamond keyboard/keypad option on the SIP )

I just tried this out. I have been using the UPX version since the release. Mine does the same thing. Either regular video or MMS video. I can select the option, but as soon as I press D-pad to start taking video, the camera closes.

yeah I was gonna try the update because I have to do a hard reset cause the diamond keyboard messed my word completion up, and I need that working sometimes.... so luckily I have a backup from before the install of the diamond keyboard....

papa, is it possible to not cook in the dialer? some of the files/icons are hardcoded in the dlls and other dialers like minimal dialer dont display properly, and the stock dialer does not display phone numbers with parenthesis properly (and they are standard on USA phone contacts). just a request, but i love the rom even if you dont change the dialer, i can manage

So right now when a new person calls me, i have no idea the complete number. I have to wait for the call to end, go to recent call history, see if i recognize it, add it to contacts, then i can use it.

Ok mate relax ... Take a deep breathe ... get a starnge number to call you and post a screen shot . Thats first . 2nd if you are in portrait mode can you then see the whole number ? and 3rd if you install voice command it will say the number out to you .....

That screen shot looks in regular mode and i see all numbers are there . I personally like voice as i use bluetooth and always moving it saves me the time of loking for my phone and then looking to see who is calling and if I want to answer ....

just happen to see it, and said i will try it... but i fixed it, unistalled IE8 from windows components , reinstalled it, unintalled it from the programs , and it reverted back to IE7... now its all good...

flashing to the new version that papa posted for the wing... also testing out the new spb backup to see if it works for restoring to newer roms... The new version http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/backup/?en says that it can restore even on a newer rom..... okay it restored, but it overwrote all the data back to the old version as far as the updates that papa did... doing another hard reset to let the UC run, and it will just go from there instead...

installed it just to see if that was true. i set up t-mobile for the US. went to connections, manage existing connections, proxy settings, proxy hacked and it worked fine.

The network wizard takes 1,6MB!!!! that´s why i took it off. Many people have .cab for their providers so it is easy to install via UC or manually :D

I flashed the micro version at about 6pm PST. The fantastic Diamond slash screen worked out of the box on this one. It went through set-up and customization and then it was time to take a look.

For memory, here is the breakdown:
STORAGE:
total - 55.89
in use - 5.49
free - 50.39

PROGRAM:
total - 51.81
in use - 23.36
free - 28.45

Definitely micro. Compared to others, ttran's 4.0 free storage was 53M and ivan's hit the 64M mark.

Papa's ROM - The Good:
Did I mention it has 50+M free storage. I like that alot! It allows me to load my Goodlink and Opera 9.5 beta and still leaves me with more to fill, or leave alone for endless internet browsing. Also, not connection wizard so you'll need to set it up manually. Once I did data and MMS have no issues. Here's a quick break down:

Battery status/weather - works, and still loving the black theme and reflective call, sms, mms, e-mail buttons
WM5storage - works
Oxios Hibernate - works
Adv Config - works
Total Commander - works
Camera - works (all of it, including video)
Phone/Dialer - works with the most excellent skin Papa payed close attention to
Calculator - works, skinned out black to go along with theme
WMP - works with papa's theme - NICE!
Internet sharing - works
TCPMP 0.81RC1 - works, with flash video bundle installed
SMS/MMS - works
keyboard - if your a Wing user you'll need duprades to correct for some of the symbols.

I also installed youtube player and opera 9.5 beta and both run with no issues (netcf3.5 works).

The bad: Nothing that i've found yet.

If your into micros, give papa's a try. The speed is on par with other micros in my opinion and it comes with papa's cool black theme.

ive only used network wizard, never had a cab file to config the settings or I would do it manually.. its all good though on the case with the network wizard not being included, i uploaded it onto my virtual hard drive, and i think i have a copy of your rom up there too

Update for y'all Wing users.
I've tested everthing but the Internet Sharing and everying is filet mignon. I installed the Wing UPX RC3 and the only problem I had was setting up the network. I posted a link for those that needs it. This ROM is even better than the RC2 (non-UPX).

Yeah sorry. it is more a HTC-free ROM. ;) I left inside the main importatn apps that are not bigger than 500kb!!! and wich don´t use a lot of ram..

I apologize for the camera album comment but mms still has an issue. when writing a mms message the pics wont show when you choose ad another picture, and the icons on the screen are missing. im posting from opera mini so i cant add pics but i will post it on my blog from my phone in a few minutes... multiple pics cant be sent from mms right now.

posted pics on the blog... but i was playing with the mms, you have to change the view from thumbnail to list and then back to thumbnail so you can see a preview of the pics... but on the compose mms screen where you normally see the plus or minus to go thru more pages for pics, its not showing and sometimes malfunctions.... will test later on, got to head out to work.

i just tried sending a picture earlier for the first time since flashing to it last night... you can send multiple pics but i just had to play with it and switch the views... and the icons didnt show but they still worked if you know what was there.... I will test it some more today before you put another version... while im at work i get a chance to put the phone thru the everyday usage test...

also Papa, where do you keep the theme files for iContact are they in \windows directory with the exe?, so when the upgrade to 0.73 on happens, we can upgrade without losing the beautiful skin u made? was thinking we could just overwrite the icontact.exe and settings.ini in \windows directory and that would be good enough, and save the skin...?

you can overwrite the exe and ini but the ini is changed to exit after a function...default is to minimize.

I came up with a lot of nifty looking screens but nothing on telling me how to change it so. All i've been able to figure out is how to show headers and change those colors and add a battery status tab. besides that. i am lost. Could someone point me in the direction of where to read up on this? I've spent the last hour and a half and i finally resorted to the ultimate shame of asking.:o

the main reason im trying to find this stuff out is i want to go to papa's micro version. its purdy.

I had to put it on an SD card, format FAT32 pagesize 512, and boot from bootloader menu (hold camera and press stylus button.. let go stylus and hold camera button about 4 secs) it took about 10 mins and flashed good.

I would have to disagree. I've flashed dozens of different ROMs on two different Wings and UPX on main memory is faster. I've done benchmarks on several of my favorite applications and there are positive calculable differences in startup times.

I think you are dangerously close to insulting the chef too (we sure don't want to start that again). pappamopps put some major effort into cooking these ROMs and should be thanked not demanded upon.

The problem is that it pairs just fine with the car, but then when it starts the automatic loading of the "phonebook" (contacts), it reboots my Wing. :(

I bought UL from Daniel-Schumann (the creator), and just had to play around with it to see what it could do. Just save the UltimateLaunch.ini (rename it) and experiment. You can always replace the existing .ini with the one you saved. I have about 10 different .ini files saved that work with other plugins that I have. I'll be glad to share some .ini files with you so you can see the possibilities - also you have to find some .ico files that you like (there are many of them posted here at XDA).

simSAP not needed. as far as I can tell it uses the regular BT files - no hid, no obex, regular contacts file is uploaded and boom, reboot. I think Ivan mentioned at one point that the CleanROM worked because he started with the T-mobile boxed ROM as his starting point (rather than Herald).

I even installed pocket dos and console to use to try and troubleshoot - but when it fails it just opens the console and puts a bunch of binary numbers out there.

you most likely didn't set up your network. afaik(as far as i know) there isn't a network wizard or anything in papas rom. you have to do it yourself.

you most likely didn't set up your network. afaik(as far as i know) there isn't a network wizard or anything in papas rom. you have to do it yourself.

p.s. who else hates rapidshares cats with a *$&$ing passion?

Network is all setup, then ran the network wizard just incase I was missing something, still no sms option. Should I find threadedsms.txt somewhere and try that?

screen shot please, you might have to have someone send you a sms message also... thats very wierd ... do a hard reset, and when the screen says complete with a 2 tone screen ( tap the screen instead of soft reseting ) lol... i did that before, and it made the rom act up and i started going off like something was wrong with the rom..

Well hard reset didnt work, so I reflashed the stock tmobile rom, and then reflashed this and now it works fine.... weird

sometimes that happens... a few people say its good to flash to the oem rom first before flashing to other roms...
