Guys,
im experiencing a problem here.

basically the top panel with time, X or OK button and the Start button is missing. here are the screen shots so you wud know what im talkin about.
However, when i tap the very top of the screen i can get the Start drop down menu, get network information (you know when u tap the reception bars) get the date etc. how wud i go solving something like this?

Nevermind, i got it to work right after i posted here.
it was easy, reverted it to landscape mode and the start panel was there, and then went back to vertical mode.

i kno bro, btw, i havent said thanks to you yet, this rom rocks man, its pretty sweet, i've tried many and all of them had some issues like different keyboard layout or w/e u know small things, but this one was just right on.

BTW, now i've got processor speed/current usage under the clock on the top bar. any way to get rid of it?

Microversion has to be flashed from SDcard!!

I have two 1GB cards. One is Kingston and the other Patriot. When entering bootloader I see a message "searching for card" for an instant and then it just shows the SPL info. I've gone through all the info I can find on flashing from cards and the only thing I can find is that some card brands just wont work, so I'm at a loss.

Papa, is it easy enough to create a version that can be flashed from the computer? If it's a pain, no biggie. The larger versions are of course awesome as well!

your card needs to be formated to fat32 ... more than likely its fat16.

I found it in "SoftKeySize" under the sameKey and changed that to 26 also & my SoftKeys now show on the screen...

i've got an issue. when the phone is in the standby and I receive a text message but don't read it, after it goes back to standby I cannot turn the phone back on. THey are taken off from TODAYSCREEN to get MORE space there... you have to change ALL hight settings in UL and todayagenda if you let them be shown??

But as far as they are working i think you can keep in MIND what is represented on BOTH keys and do not have to show the text to remember ;)

compare you screen with and without the softkeys showing and decide which looks better.. its easy to rem one side as calender and the other as contacts or whatever you program them to be !!

what do you have your device overclocked at ??? what speed.. and what version of the rom are you using?? dont run pocket mechanic for registry cleaner or any app for registry cleaner - most cooked roms settings will get destroyed or erased... what other apps do you have on the device??? and dont install s2u2 yet untill u find out what the problem is...

I think it has to be HERAIMG.NBH, and try partioning it to 512mb, thats what I had to do.

I've been using MicroWing now since it was released and am LOVING IT!!

My bluetooth carkit is working GREAT (thanks Papa and Ttran); SMS and MMS work great for me but I'm not an extensive MMS user; Wireless working fine with WEP encryption; camera works great in camera, sports and video mode.

I run many preinstalled apps on my 2gb SD and just push registry changes using rapiconfig to make them work :) , so the only cabs I have to install are: Cloudyfa EsmertecJbed (for my midlet apps) and Mortscript (I have many functional scripts I use regularly), and I still have over 45.5 mb space available on device. I also changed quite a few services to manual startup (versus automatic) so reboot is VERY FAST and I have 29.5 mb RAM after a reboot!!


The only thing I have found an issue with is trying to watch a video on you tube. I'm not too hip on youtube - so rarely try to watch from my phone, so it isn't a big problem for me. I did try to install HTC streaming video to resolve the problem (it has worked for me on other ROMs) but it didn't help here so I uninstalled it. I am not quite sure how to use the youtubeDL.exe that is included since I can't do a search (again, I'm not too hip on youtube).

Any advise? :confused:

I sent you an email with my list of manual services from your MicroWingROM.

I use MemMaid or FdcSoft TaskManager v2.8 to put them in manual mode - so they don't startup automatically after reboot, but they do start when needed (for example, i always put wireless in manual mode but it still works great when I use it). I think wireless is the biggest RAM consumer of the ones I listed.

I'm not sure how you would put them in manual startup mode to cook them. ?

try hardreset or falsh again. sometimes it sucks up while flashing... or go back to t-MOB official rom and then flash again!

advanced config changes many if you only want ot change 1 thing...haha that´s why i don´t like it. you have to check ALL settings before aplying them.

maybe it changed to default and as there are no default icons....

Thanks for the offer of the INI files but i figured out the simple things i needed to see from ultimate launch. such as assigning shortcuts, combining tabs, and making custom icon headers. The only thing that htc home has that i havent found yet in ultimate launch is the profiler for regular, silent, vibrate and what not. Also my battery life is cut by a very small percent. besides that its great. now i need to find some money to pay for this thing.

so far everything is smooth... only issue is the mms being upx'd, and battery drain is kinda rough, was at work from 10am - 12am and dropped down to 77 percent... only took like 5 calls, no music or web browsing.. overclocked at 260.... but I do have UL and Htc Home running in a tab, but disable BS weather and clock, and msg rows from showing...
might try the micro version tomorrow or later tonight...

having both htc and bat stat in different UL tabs destroyed my battery so quickly. even though the only thing i had open from htc was the profiler. it made around a 20% differnce in my batteries life. does everyone generally use the battery status sms/call/email bar? Or is there a much better bar that i don't know about?

i think the issue is that i recently installed resco file explorer and it has a battery indicator that shows in the today bar, but i didnt activate it and there is no way of removing it without uninstalling it... only installed it to try it out so will probably end up removing it since i dont use it at all.

I've had this Wing for about a month now and my buddy got me started on this site once he showed me his Apache and he put Touch-It Touched by Vista on my Wing. I do have an issue with this ROM that I don't know if I can fix or just have to deal with. I have noticed in mid-call that my ear has tapped the BSTopBar and opened up options. Is there a way to turn down the touch sensitivity? There has been no one else with this problem. I have read the entire post to find out how to work this ROM since I am so new to all of this considering my last phone was a Pearl. If there isn't anything then I'm a noob and I'll just deal. If there is it would be greatly appreciated. Again AWESOME WORK and I'll definitely be waiting for your next great idea.

Good point papa ... But people forget the battery basics. All new batteies are suppose to be charged with the supplied charger complete the first time and then allowed to completely discharge before recharging. This enables the battery a good strong life. Remeber electrons in school science how they have whats called a half life. Well thats your battery. If you dont allow it to fully charge and then dischare you shorten the half life of your battery.

aiight im gonna try and either flash again or hard reset and redownload again - might also need to flash back to oem rom first the reflash.( to fix the mms issue - the mms still works just those icons messing up )... and i wont install resco no more.. lol.. i think thats what milked the battery and will try to drain the battery to zero again, havent had that happen with my wing in a while

I have the same problem - but it is with any ROM using BS.

When I start a call, I just press the button on top of the phone to turn off the screen and problem solved.

don't get my wrong papa my battery still lasts two days, i just noticed that when im doing stuff on the phone with htc home and bs in seperate tabs for some reason my battery drains a little quicker then if i just have one or the other going. As for the BS bar i don't have any problem with it, im just always behind on the cool new apps people use lol. Lastly thanks for the rom it is beautiful and the best rom i have ever used.

that might be why my battery is draining now... i have bs bar, htc home, and UL running each separately... right now im draining battery to zero and then gonna let it charge back up... and will put htc home back in UL... after i reflash again to see if that fixes the mms issue I had since im the only one with missing icons.. will redownload the rom ( using the one from megaupload )...

TMobile firmware or O2? May need to reload the firmware and delete the vendor.xlm file. Vendor.xlm is the file that identifies the phone to the carrier. Or she could just contact her carrier and request roaming disabled

that might be why my battery is draining now... i have bs bar, htc home, and UL running each separately... right now im draining battery to zero and then gonna let it charge back up... and will put htc home back in UL... after i reflash again to see if that fixes the mms issue I had since im the only one with missing icons.. will redownload the rom ( using the one from megaupload )...

yeah, boycott rapidshare until the cats dissapear lol. i was going to flash to micro because i thought i might need the memory but i looked at my phone which has s2u2, s2p, mortplayer, whack a monty (game), s-tris (game), aqueball (game), trpyzee (game), google maps, youtube play, hacked aim 2.0, opera mobile 9.5 beta, and setvolume and i still have 19mb's of storage lol. i find that amazing. so far today i've had my phone unplugged for 4 hours of standby and my battery hasn't been affected. I did the same thing yesterday with htc and bs in my UL and i lost around 5%. i dont know if this is the dead on TRUTH. but it is what is happening with my specific wing. does anyone know of a program thats a today plug in thats somewhat like setvolume?

whats the problem? as soon as your device is hardspl the micro from the sd card works great. my device is no longer hardspl though so i can't tell you taht the new rc4 works with it.

Are you renaming the.nbh to HERAIMG.nbh? If not, do that withany new ROM you are flashing via sd card. Also, make sure your SD card is formatted FAT32.

The tmobile rep said I need to turn those two features on in order to use internet from the wing.

im probably gonna try both version ( but chances are i will only flash to the full version ).... i know that this is uc ready, the difference is that you just run the program and click on the cabs that you wanna install by checking the boxes and it installs them for you.... dont feel like typing out all the cabs in .txt format... or i might try sashimi installer.. lol...

DAMN!! just right after i updated all versions and begin customizing i though - why teh hell shall i make a shortcut to UL for "hibernate"???

There is a HUGE area still not used on BS topbar!!

So now with posted default.xml you can tap on "28,4MB" (area) and it will run hibernate!!!!

It sounds like your network is already setup. You could use advanced configration that comes with the RC4_wing (programs/system folder) to go into connections and set T-Mobile Data to always be on - that makes using PIE and other internet apps connect much faster.

I have the same plan and no problems using anything. Most boxed apps will automatically start the connection (eg., mail).

Im reading this off the wing while connected to activesync so it may change the amounts in a few minutes...

Camera - works great, video recording works without shutting down ( like in previous version )

MMS - works great, hack is already done for 1.2mb sending, icons all there, no issues.

SMS - works out the box - no issues.

Today Screen - no errors ( except i did have to activate BS in the system -> today menu - other than that works perfect.

UL - works good out the box, you have to activate it !!!! ( just noticed that it times out on the screen but it is still there just swipe finger across - might have to do with swapping a file + hahaha )

Soft Keys - works like usual - Calender on left, Contacts app on the Right ( I use Pocketcm ). On the side of the device you have to program you message button.

BS top bar - works great with the new additions papa added ( hibernate aka free up memory.. works great ).

Calculator - looks great, and works

Games - NONE - INSTALL YOUR OWN..

Data - Works Good so far

Audio Manager - Black theme looks good, and works good

TCMCP - works good - default player in UL for videos... works good ( first time you play a video it plays audio only... close it and restart tcmcp and you have video and audio working )

Windows Media - It works, same skin as Audio Manager...

Comm Manager - The good looking black screen, and it works.

Activesync - working good out the box... ( i restored a backup of just email,msgs,contacts from spb with no problems - no need to config anything )

Office - works great.

Overall = this is a great rom, good work papa... Very fast ( only overclocked to 260 ).. no glitches so far --- ( I think the UL disappearing or timing out is on my part for changing a file... ). Everything runs smooth as butter.

FIRST FULL REVIEW, SO DONT BE TOO CRITICAL... Lol

I've been running the newest wing micro for the last 8 hours. Everything appears to be working. For the memory breakdown refer to this post with screen shot > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2312272&postcount=868.

SMS/MMS is working. All of papamopps themes are working with functional top bar (with hibernate and backlight update) and functional weather. WMP is skinned out. Calculator is skinned out (NICE!!). Phone all working with most excellent dial pad skin. iContact works just right and already mapped to right softkey. Internet sharing working. UL is working, but i believe that the extra icons from the full version were left (.ini file from full) and the path for the apps that do not exist in the micro obviously don't work. That is easy enough to fix. Camera, advance config, total commander all working.

Will likely start adding apps tonight. If I run into problems I will report back here.

I've been running the newest wing micro for the last 8 hours. Everything appears to be working. For the memory breakdown refer to this post with screen shot > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2312272&postcount=868.

SMS/MMS is working. All of papamopps themes are working with functional top bar (with hibernate and backlight update) and functional weather. WMP is skinned out. Calculator is skinned out (NICE!!). Phone all working with most excellent dial pad skin. iContact works just right and already mapped to right softkey. Internet sharing working. UL is working, but i believe that the extra icons from the full version were left (.ini file from full) and the path for the apps that do not exist in the micro obviously don't work. That is easy enough to fix. Camera, advance config, total commander all working.

Will likely start adding apps tonight. If I run into problems I will report back here.

If your experience is different in regards to MMS specific activity, obviously no change is necessary. Just thought i might share a little of my experience to all the rest of you guys that share so much too.

Yes, for certain. I have many mortscripts - and I run a scheduler script to auto update my weather, news (I parse a file downloaded from web) and my ebay watch list, as well as check my email on varying intervals depending on the time of day.

yes that is what it is supposed to act. there are 2 different registrytracker!

1 for sms
1 for MMS

even if MMS is lit sms is also lit BUT sms is not lit when a MMS is in!!

So using the MMS icon for voicemail you would loose MMS!


OR we can make a fifth icon??!!

One alternative to mortscript for simple items (like executing two different applications on one tap) is to use the BatteryStatus "tinybatch.exe". Ikarus included batch functionality many many builds ago. I'll research the syntax for execution in the BS xml file and also for an example of how the batch file should look. His tinybatch.exe is only 7kb vs Mortscript.exe is 84kb. Both very lightweight.

To do a little test:

Get the zip file and put tinybatch.exe, test.bat , todaytoggle.exe in your \windows\batterystatus folder.

Then modify your xml file on item of your choice with this syntax:

ontap="StartApp" path="tinybatch.exe ::test.bat"

This test hides row 2 and then row 3 and then executes todaytoggle.exe (I did that just so I could verify it works). yes, the sleep command is necessary because the tinybatch executes so quickly; sleep is given in milliseconds.

I am working to find the syntax to call the exe from another folder, but having trouble.

yeah if thats the case disable the batterystatus task manager and run UL in its place, that way you can launch whatever apps you want to from there... HTC home is not worth it anymore...

my device has been running faster without htC home... especially when you configure UL to launch your favorite apps, and set up the dial tab, theres no need for htc home at all.

actually UL is easier to use as a launcher and UI... just disable all today screen plugins except for UL, and put the today plugins that a person wants in the UL tabs.. ex) 1 tab can be battery status, bext tab can be today agenda or whatever daily organizer ap you want to use, next tab can be whatever weather app, next tab can be all shortucts, next tab can be pocket music for music player... basically making a low memory version of the cube for the device or put tabs on the screen and make it like throttle launcher.... the easiest UI in my opinion other than UL is pointui - its very fast, and doesnt take up a lot of memory, also its finger friendly.

I have just been playing around with position the plugins differently. I've been having problems with UL. I tried to change my agenda tab to say internet calling and UL dissappears all together and i cant get it back. If finally reappears after soft resets and continually turning it off and on in the today settings. I tried to change it again and it went away and wont come back.

Am i missing something?

lol... thats cool that others want the same rom on other devices... next someone will port it over to the mogul - which would be good cause i know a few people that want this rom on that device too

... this is the best rom that i have flashed to, no problems, no bugs, very fast and stable, plenty of storage. The next best rom would be OT5.0UL ( once you fix the mms/sms issue..)... Great work, and I just installed pointui for when i need real quick access to apps and make it finger friendly ( for when driving especially ) but i have it off on startup, i would rather activate it when I want to use it.. and I just put pocketweather in one of the tabs on UL..

this still is by far the best rom to change up to you own if you want... I added pointui to use ( only when i start it up ), and it didnt take up any space on the device..
only issue is that the voicemail indicator ( that papa put in xml hack just recently ) wont light up when i get a message, but it does dial my voicemail when I made the edit... no biggy

actually i use icons on the bottom of my screen. i only need the top bar when im on my default tab aka BS. i mean when im on dialtab or my shortcut icons i'm really not needing a topbar lol.

he can config the okay button to close apps to.. i saw the option, i just wont use it.. i think its in the batterystatus menu or the button configuration...

i never found a working "x-app" for ok button. there are some. but they all suck... and OK/Close from buttonmenu OFTEN jsut minimize...

Got it working!!

1. copy all files from .zip to \windows\batterystatus
2. test default_tiny.xml as theme (options advanced) = now tap on signal bar replaces the gestures for getting rid of scrollbar after sliding!!!

3. if you like it edit your .xml you are using (maybe default_voice)

when you have programs open the bs top bar is still there. actually i can slide through all my tabs of UL using gestures. so the x button is still there and everything. but if you don't have it activated. its kind of a pain.

and if you open programs it is there cause ul will stay in background...and the apps never go that far up to the top....

I have been experiencing some occasional lock ups. Thought i would share in case others have seen. When I go from landscape back to portrait and then on today screen I do the gesture down to remove start top bar and then I gesture up to refresh today screen the screen starts to refresh and then locks. I've been using rc4 nicro wing for as long as the release. Anybody else experiencing this?

It took me quite some time to port my PHP-Code to a C# Windows Mobile Application cause I am not very experienced with the compact Framework of .NET.

But here it finaly is: my CodeFinder for BSWeather (http://www.monarch.de/svn/work/bsweathercode/BScode/bin/Release/BScode.exe).

Someone might find this useful, I think. I didn't have a chance to try it out yet, but I can't find any flaws and no reasons, why this shouldnt work. If there are any problems, don't hesitate to report.

I flashed the upx_rc3 for the wing and everything went smooth. Had no problems...dial pad works, ul works, etc. Then I flashed the same rom to a buddies wing and his dialpad launcher shows "trial expired".. It didnt show that on my wing. Ive been trying to figure out why his shows "trial expired" and mine works fine. I used the same file for both wings...

Any ideas? or maybe links where this problem has already been addressed?

that´s why i deleted dialtab from RC2 but then many told that it never expires for them.

for me it also expired again. grrrrrrrrr.

it is part of SPB phonesuite as i found out. now i have to find out how to "register" it...casue it is only a small part of Phone suite....

Another tip to BS!

If you want to replace an icon...maybe MMS (cuase not using it) and want to exchange to an app...then use

I've lost track on this thread - been busy with my day job :( and trying to cook my own clean ROM (I'm still a sous-chef)!

Regarding your need to execute one .exe to do multiple things at once - I remember that with mortscript.exe - there is an autorun.exe . The usage is this: create your mortscript (doing anything, everything, multiple things - like run run your toggletoday, refresh today, whatever) and name it (whatever you want) yourscriptname.mscr then copy autorun.exe (i've attached it in a zip here) and name it (the same as your script name with different extension) yourscriptname.exe and put it in the same directory as your .mscr. Then, using ultimate launch gesture - navigate to the .exe and voila' the yourscriptname.exe will actually execute yourscriptname.mscr.

I've been testing it and playing around with it and it works great. I've got quite the setup now between using the tinybatch.exe, mortscripts and autorun.exe copies - to toggle my rows and views depending on what I want to see and run - all with one tap or one gesture.

This one does not.

It goes straight to the progress bar, but hangs at 0%. My phone's backlight switches off and the connection to ActiveSync is lost.
After a while, my phone goes back to normal (screen comes back to life), but I get an Error 208.

I can't figure this out. I've tried all the exes. Any help would be appreciated.

The funny thing is that it's not expired on my handset and I have no other SPB software, just the JBED and opera mini. I did a mirror install on a buddies and his was expired on first boot up! Ill just make some icons for him and use "makecall.exe" to give him a one touch dialer.

Now I just gotta find a reliable source to pay for UL so I dont have "not activated" anymore. Anyone have any reliable sources for that? And, once activated, will it go back to not activated anymore? I know you can input any activation code and they will go away but they always return shortly after.

The progress bar comes up and my phone goes blank. ActiveSync disappears and my little network icon tries to find a new connections, succeeds and my phone comes back on as if nothing happened. Progress bar doesn't make it past 0% before giving me an Error 260.

ive been using flashcenter to flash all my roms...
its very easy...
soft reset your phone and you pc... plug the phone up to the pc when activesync connects then run flashcenter ( only after it connects to the device ) then take the rc4.rar or zip file extract folder... take the nbh file out of the folder... extract flashcenter and create new folder ex. papasrc4.... then take the rc4 nbh file and put it in the ruu folder within flashcenter, go back up one folder and click the herald spl.exe
follow the instructions on the screen... and your done...
if it gives you the same problem reinstall activesync ony our pc.
