I did a search within the thread and i couldnt come up with anything.

I dont have any notification sounds active. I have enabled the sounds in the settings but still nothing. I have searched but nothing helpful is coming up.

not sure what device, but he said he got the xip and sys files thats different... flash it, its good... do need the message shortcut back( thats the only issue on here ).... other than thats great work on the rom.....

the bs home screen is great...i changed the voicemail tab so it dials my actual voicemail number..now with that said i cant figure out how 2 change the @ tab (email) . when pressed it brings up outlookmail...which i barely use..i use yahoo! which i set up...i i changed xml. files , both defualt and without voice

in same line where ontap="other email" is locaded you exchange the ontap value with ontap="StartApp" path="\Windows\tmail.exe ::-service &quot;Name of Email Account&quot;" and fill in your yahoo name....

check out the sdconfig app thats on this forum... type in sdconfig on the search.. this app works better than the UC sdconfig.txt that you have to type cause you can just select any cab on your storage card period to install by checking a box, versus typing all the cab files that you use word for word.. or check the sashimi app thats posted also.

One minor problem: Changing the BSWeather.xml will bring up only error message. It says that there is an error message that chan not be displayed cause NETCFv3.5.messages... is not installed...

dunno if it matters, but i use a / slash instead of a \ slash before the city alphanmeric code... seems working. the rest looks correct.

are those dashes in front of these lines:

- <BSWeather>
- <City>

if so those need to come out of all them lines that have a leading dash

This is my 1st flash on my Wing and it went without a hitch. Looks very nice! I can't seem to be able to hide the top bar or the side scroll bar, though. Will keep trying.

I'm running RC3 and someone told me they sent me an MMS last night and for some reason I have not received it. I get all their SMS but no MMS is this because of the UPX'd MMS? Is there a way to fix it or is it the carrier? I searched the thread for MMS and it came up with Sorry No Matches which the first page says MMS so I don't know what I did wrong. I don't want to get RC5 and then it still not work cuz I don't know how to use the MMS. I know it worked with Touch-IT Touched by Vista

i never had a problem with rc3... try flashing the rc5.. you wont regret it!!!!

cant remember... but if you ran network wizard then everything should be fine... I dont recall any issues with mms at all...
but you will notice more improvements with the rc4 and the rc5.... RC5 is super fast... real talk.. flash it the only thing that you have to do extra to RC5 is create shortcuts on the menu if you want to add the apps to the menu, other than that its the closest thing to perfection.

I ran the customization and wizard using your cabs, thanks for that btw. I don't know why it's not receiving them. I hate Tmobile sometimes. I'm going to flash come this weekend when I got time to setup all my apps and to just play with it and learn it. Don't get much time at work.

download sdconfig app thats on this forum... im not sure if its on my server or not.. its the easist way to add programs back to device cause you can just select what cabs you want to install from the entire device, check the boxes, and click okay, you can reinstall all your apps in less than 10 minutes... so you looking at 25 minutes max to flash.

click inbetween the 5 icons for mail phone voicemail ( these are all part of batterystatus ) and make sure the device lock option is not checked... then go into settings, today and then choose batterystatus and make sure in the options that its not selected in there either...
my phone has not been locked at all since i flashed it...
PS. also please update what rom you are using, cause if u still hae the OT4.0 then it may be a whole nutha ball game !!!!

no problem, I accidently turned on the device lock on there before a while back and was like what the Puck is making the phone lock like that every 30 seconds...

Well I feel its time to test these roms even harder as they are being made better, faster , stronger and with more thought in the process from our cooks.

OK out the box the rom moves swwet and smooth , But hey I need to add my settings & owner information. Now time for the network Wizard I dont see where it is so I install it and errors . let me use this version ( HTC_Network_Wizard_KAISER_1_0_29981_1). Now network wizard is working properly. Love the icontact icons.

Well after that I un-installed and re-installed many applications, used the phone and continued abusing to see if this rom was going to fall apart and while in-stalling and un-install apps to see what errors poped up. The rom is still running decent.

Ok the wifi is working correctly. Able to browse and update all weather programs ... Just PERFECT papamopps. To use internet explorer you must either goto the windows folder and run it or add a shortcut to it .

Now I have not seen any memory leaks as a few have asked me but to no avail at all here.

Now for you folks who ask the same question 100 times.YES !!!!!! The MMS/SMS 1.2M hack is working and already installed by So if you want to complain about a rom remember if you don't speak up and tell the cook what you do and don't like then don't say anything at all. The cooks here are doing this out of appreciation , admiration and love of the art of cooking. If you think it is so easy then put out your own rom.[/COLOR]

Now remember I tested this on a t-moible wing . A lot of these problems may not occur on all phones. So if you have a different phone please post your findings.

A major bug I seen so far with all roms and all smart phones is the issue with hanging up a call when you choose to and not waiting 20 seconds or more until the phone chooses to hangup the call.. So far this rom doesnt have that issue.

WOW !!!! .. At first touch the rom just spits like oil great job papamopps. And to the best of my knowledge no memory leaks .....

rom can be used by power users and any other user as I believe I qualify as a power user.

I hope my review of this rom helps many in their questions as I tried to cover as much space as possible. If you feel something is missing please make a note of it so for future note my reviews will be as full as possible.

And a note to [B]gambit For testing rom after rom with me ...... I hope you get a Kaiser soon to test these roms with me as well ....

icontact normally shows that when you chat using it .... And I dont recall seing icontact installed ...

Icontact is already installed... its in the windows folder you just have to make a shortcut for it. I think it is the default contact manager as being the right softkey, but i dont rem being that i dont use it, i prefer pocketcm but i did make a shortcut for icontacts to give it a run and see how it is...

there is a minor memory leak but it only happens when i run opera mini, yet it is only about 1 or 2mbs that get lost. the lowest i have gone with memory is about 16 or 17mb, nothing major.

Activesync, calculator, dialer, messages, comm manager, camera, htc album, internet explorer, all work flawless.

This rom is very fast, transtion from landscape to portrait is very fast, no lag time.

Tcmcp works just as stated before on previous reviews for video playback - you have to select play video file, exit tcmcp, and then open tcmcp to get video to play again, and it works great from there.

bsweather works great.
screen refresh shortcut using the signal bar on today screen works great.

great rom, approximately 7 day test, no issues.. great work papa.

Well I feel its time to test these roms even harder as they are being made better, faster , stronger and with more thought in the process from our cooks.

OK out the box the rom freezes on my first phone call , But hey I need to add my settings & owner information. Now time for the network Wizard. A small bug I believed it has been noted before just trying to cover everything is the wifi & bluetooth icons sometimes dissappear.

For some strange resaon I cant get back light to stay on . I even un-installed S2U2 to see if that was interfering .... Is that a bug or what I want the light to stay on I changed it in settings.

Well after that I un-installed and re-installed many applications, used the phone and continued abusing to see if this rom was going to fall apart and while in-stalling and un-install apps to see what errors poped up. The rom is still running decent.

Ok the wifi is working correctly. Able to browse and update all weather programs ... Just PERFECT papamopps. To use internet explorer you must either goto the windows folder and run it or add a shortcut to it . The same with iContacts as well folks.

OK the MMS/SMS is 100% .. Thats a wonderful thing as I love using it . I thank you . Now the MMS /SMS does have the hack already included. But no audio on the video files recieved papa ...

Now I have not seen any memory leaks as a few have asked me but to no avail at all here.

Now for you folks who ask the same question 100 times.YES !!!!!! The MMS/SMS 1.2M hack is working and already installed by So if you want to complain about a rom remember if you don't speak up and tell the cook what you do and don't like then don't say anything at all. The cooks here are doing this out of appreciation , admiration and love of the art of cooking. If you think it is so easy then put out your own rom.[/COLOR]

Now remember I tested this on a t-moible wing . A lot of these problems may not occur on all phones. So if you have a different phone please post your findings.

A major bug I seen so far with all roms and all smart phones is the issue with hanging up a call when you choose to and not waiting 20 seconds or more until the phone chooses to hangup the call.. So far this rom doesnt have that issue.

WOW !!!! .. At first touch the rom is just a pleasure to use. papamopps. And to the best of my knowledge no memory leaks .....

rom can be used by power users and any other user as I believe I qualify as a power user. Took all my abuse so I sugest giving it a try.

I hope my review of this rom helps many in their questions as I tried to cover as much space as possible. If you feel something is missing please make a note of it so for future note my reviews will be as full as possible.

And a note to [B]gambit For testing rom after rom with me ...... I hope you get a Kaiser soon to test these roms with me as well ....

And a special note to itje. WELCOME BACK. GLAD THE HAMMER WORKED FOR YOU !!!!!!!!

also please do reviews once you get your microsd card... your apps are eating up your storage on your phone!!!
and I didnt recall it going up to 29mb or program memory after flashing, but I do have about 23mb after soft reset and about 20mb all the time until i start running opera mini for a few minutes.

RC5 is real fast and very stable...

and papa you can password protect files if you want with skydrive... which is a great thing its just that you have to send links to the file via email.
if it crashes skydrive i dont care cause its hooked up with MS Live, thats their problem.

tep works great no need for pairing by entering the security code... and the moto h710 is actually pretty good with the phone.. and i got the btaudio working with it so i can listen to music thru earpiece

It worked like a chram for me.....the very first try....and i'm a person who always used to have problems with flashing...

One question? did yopu tap on screen when it says "complete" cause normally there is a text "your device is now set up. tap screen to begin"


BUT as my backgroud is black there is no text :D

It's working great so far, I got those "trial expired" lines for the contacts but I replace them with weather panel anyway. Rom moves quick, everything works, excellent job like always. Now I just gotta load all my crap back on

I'm new to the rom flashing game, but I've been hooked solid for the past 2 weeks flashing every rom I could find. I swear this has to be the best and the fastest. I'm hooked...I feel like a have a brand new phone. I put the stock rom back on there, and I felt like throwing the phone...I got mad at the stock rom! I was like what was that? I needed more of that Poppa Crack!
Once you go poppa black, you cant go back!

I donated, and will donate more when I can. Thanks for making me love my wing (for the first time, I didnt feel cheated because it wasnt an iphone :D)

tcmcp works ( just have to play the video, exit, then go back into tcmcp )
still have to create you own shortcuts for IE, messaging etc.
pretty much no real issues of anything not working.

noticing that memory gets depleted mysteriously not sure why, gets down to about 16 on average so far, compared to regular RC5 which stayed at around 19 - 20mb available on program memory. Will test it some more for tonight and see how it goes...
OTHER THAN THAT GREAT JOB PAPA ON THIS ROM, VERY FAST..
now its time for me to put this rom through the real test...
but I think there is a leak, not sure if its from teh keyboard slide app, will find out in a few.

sorry to cause the scare, but s2u2 is a app that I never liked, always gave problems some how... as soon as i installed it I was getting error messages saying that some components were missing, havent been using it at all cause it s a gimmick app...
now everything is good...

IF you ahve trouble with slidein app...then apply a gesture on UL to:

- \windows\batterystatus\tinybatch.lnk

then you only hve to swipe over the screen and it gts refreshed.

the app sometimes stops working and then after softreset it starts again :(

use flashcenter to flash the rom... download it from my sig ( plenty of cabs ), go into papas rom and take the nbh file and put it in the ruu folder of flash center, and go back out one folder and click herald uspl ..

mine works fine... never had a problem with it at all..
you need to download network wizard or the network customization for you carrier in order to get the internet working..

okay after testing this rom for a few days, there is a slight difference between the rc5 and the rc5.3 as far as memeory management goes, nothing major probably about 2 or 3mb difference. But overall its still good

its not that difficult.. check out the thread noob guide to flashing, or check out the open touch 3.0 or 4.0 thread and on the first post theres a link to how to flash. read up on how to flash before you flash.

Hmmm, need more infomation to duplicate. Do you have anything running in the background, how are you getting to options (holding down on the battery indicator and selecting options or through today settings)

IT DOESNT MATTER HOW I GO TO OPTIONS WHEATHER FROM THE PROGRAM FOLDER OR BY HOLDING DOWN THE PROGRAM ALWAYS FREEZES NOW. IVE SOFT RESET LIKE 5 TIMES. AND NOTHING IS RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND THAT I KNOW OF AND I COULDNT FIND OUT IF I WANTED TO CAUSE IT FREEZES ALSO WHEN I TRY TO LOOK AT THE TASK MANAGER.

I HAVE OMP ENABLED AND OVERCLOCKED AT 260 MHZ.

note:: if i dont touch the app and leave it alone the phone works fine, all programs and internet

Id like to have the top bar and then htc home, then UL but for some reason, after installing HTC Home, I cant get bs top bar above HTC Home.

Anyone have any ideas?

Well can either go into tabs and unselect all except row one, or can add htc home into ul and have it just be the favorite people tab. Thats what I did to get the launcher

so any big updates in 5.3 except comm manager and the keyboard slide? im content with rc5 but the keyboard sliding feature sounds nice. is there a keyboard malfunction in it? i leave for a week and come back to this -_- lol. i feel so far behind

As far as I can tell it is keyboard slide and comm manager. The comm manager is nice looking. Fits the rest of papas ROM look. I did have a problem with turning wifi off after turning on though. Happen a couple of times. Also, the keyboard slide feature is great when it works, but unfortunately it is intermittent. I modified the BS xml to use tinybatch.lnk on the signal strength tap. Don't need the backlight feature since I leave it all the way up. BTW I am using the wing micro 5.3.

If you mean the standard windows mobile, if you extend the keyboard out it will reappear and stay when you go back to portrait. To get it to stay at startup you probably need to remove the file vijaytodayshrink.lnk from the /windows/startup menu.

You're welcome.

For iContact, if you mean change the mapping of the right soft key, open advanced config in the programs/system folder and select key mapping in the menu. Assuming you already have spb contacts select that for your right soft key.

Ok. Looks like you have a solution. Some people choose PocketCM which you can search for. I prefer iContact. It's light weight and serves the purpose for me...happy 4th to you and all on xda...

and yes the sound is a little bit lower.. .you can hack the registry settings, i posted it before in this thread... or you can do a xda search for registry settings for volume... theres a few different hacks on it.. but the other device that this build is taken from has a lower volume setting..

I think I figured out what the memory leak was - its MSVC 1.6 !!!! but I have to have it on since im using my bluetooth now.. but i might uninstall msvc 1.6 just to see how it acts without, and how my bluetooth earpiece works ( only used msvc when having a bluetooth earpiece )
