P3600 WM6.1 - ADW-edition - WWE
Test-version OS 19588 (Build 19588.1.1.4)

Important
To improve the ROM I need your help. I cannot test every function myself. If you experience any problem, please report it! I can't improve the quality without feedback.

The ROM is a light version. It only has the orignial Microsoft Windows Mobile programs. No additional software. Additional software comes later when I am sure the base ROM is stable.

Changes in test-version
WM6.1 is a new start for me, new changelog comes here :)
ROM is based on the newest HTC Diamond ROM (only OS and SYS part, not the HTC programs)

Known problems
CommManager beam switch is not working, you can switch beam on/off using settings -> connections -> beam

Screenshots
Images are based on English version.

Download
Please check if your device has a RadioROM 1.46 or higher. I advice RadioROM 1.46 or higher. To view your RadioROM version go to start -> settings-> tab: System -> Device Information. The ROMS are without RadioROM.

Create your own ROM (ROM Kitchen)
The ROM Kitchen is based on Bepe's his WM6.1 Trinity kitchen. I made some improvements to simplify the build proces. You can use this kitchen if you want to make your own ROM based on the above ROM.

Does this have original dll or older working a2dp dlls?
Also, is the only dll needing replacing just sbc.dll or also bta2dp.dll?

Before I jump in, two little questions:
* How much free memory after soft-reset?
* What is not included, or better: what is included? I prefer very clean rom, but I've no idea how clean a base rom is.
Thanks

It has the a2dp dll from the HTC Diamond ROM, but my a2dp fix is included.
A2DP runs fine.

27mb of free RAM.

The things included:
All software Microsoft included in their WM6.1 build (Office, Live Messenger, Remote Desktop)
That's all. HTC Software comes later, this is only a base ROM.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I'm a bit disappointed by the free mem though, that's quite small considering no soft has been loaded yet. I'm currently running Mary 3.7.1 and it also starts at 27Mb but with a quite a few tools loaded.

I do need at least a dialer & sms

I did not make any RAM improvements to the ROM.
This comes in the final version.

I created a quick test version with all my software from version 1.2.
That version had 28mb of free RAM with a lot of programs loaded.

Hello Adewidt,
I'm still using your WM6 version 1.1 - I didn't switch to 1.2 because I couldn't adapt to the LG menu... Anyway, you're the ROM builder I trust most, and I will surely switch to your 6.1 version as soon as a beta is released.

Unfortunately I can't help you test, because I use my Trinity for work and I simply can't risk not having a stable ROM - but keep up the good work and good luck with your thesis!

Hi adewidt,

1st of all, good luck for your thesis ;)
I test the base rom since yesterday night and everything seem to work just fine.
A2DP is ok. WMDC sync is working. Global system performance is good. No bug detected so far. I just lost my mono headset pairing this afternoon. But I don't know if the rom is guilty or it was due to my cheap headset (heady sport something). My Moto S9 still work normally btw. Tomtom also work as usual.

After almost 24 hours, I think it's quite stable. I'll continue to investigate using your kitchen tonight :)

Cheers,

Really nice rom....smooth and stable.
I was trying to send a voicemail but after recording the voice I wasn´t able to listen to it,unless I use file explorer, find the file and listen to the file with windows media.
On the commanager when the cell is on vibrate I don´t see the icon...up to now the ronm is working great.
Has anyone used the bluetooth to send large files?Like 6mb.

Thanks adewidt. ;)

You can only delete attachments.
I never test this before, is it possible on other ROMs to preview the attachments?

This feature doesn´t work on other roms either but it´s ok....I don not use ir that much.I still can send what I record..but just with different steps...it was just some feedback.

Yes I´m using the same and I can switch from sound to vibrate it works fine,it´s just the icon....and the beam...but you already brought this up.

I only included the pictures for the default CommManager options.

In the first post you said:

"The ROM is a light version. It only has the orignial Microsoft Windows Mobile programs. No additional software. Additional software comes later when I am sure the base ROM is stable."

This means you go to release a final version with more software included?
Can you release one final LIGHT ou Super-Light version like this, and another FULL?

Many people, including me, like to get a final Light version of your ROM

In the OEM folder you can delete Live Messenger.
You can delete som ringtones in the OEMDrivers map.

You can delete most htm (help) files from SYS and OEM.

From SYS folder you can delete:
-Transcriber*
-WelcomeCenter*
-RemoteDesktop*
-Office*
-OneNote*
-Entertainment*
-Catalog*
-SampleMusic
-AutoUpdate*
These folders should be safe to remove.
Better is to move the folders in a backup folder outside the kitchen.

* All folders starting with this name.

I have not decided yet, what kind of ROMs I am going to include.
Maybe I decide to make a multilanguage ROM (WWE, NLD, GER, FR, SPN, PTG, ITA).

Everything I make is avaiable for download (from now on the kitchen too).
It is always possible to make your own lite version.

Very nice work you have there.

About the calculator, it is strange to have the comma "," at the last numeral
for example 20,000 should appear as 20,000 but it showed 20000,

Other than that,,, all else is working fine

I don't really understand this problem.

20,000 = 20
20.000 = 20000

This is based on the regional settings.

after uninstalling one by one everything and trying to shutdown between each one, I got finally shutdown working. The last one I uninstalled was HTC Home. I'll replace with another version and try again. Thanks ! :)

Ok, I verified everything. HTCHome cab I used was found as xplode-HTCHome.v2_1_1005722_s0-all_device.cab. This version replaces HTCUtil.dll that is already in ROM (39 KB) with an older version (21 KB). The problem is that these two dlls do not export functions in the same order. The function that seems shutting down is HTCUtilDeviceOff. It is ordinal 3 in the big one whereas ordinal 2 in the small one. Conclusion: Do not use HTC Home versions that do overwrite HTCUtil.dll

My idea:
Creating a multilanguage ROM.
Creating a program to easy select the packages and language you want.
Hit a build+flash button that creates a personal ROM.
On this way everybody can have their customized ROM.
And I release one personal favorite ROM.

I think your idea is GREAT!!!
I tested some ROMs and when get one that work stable, got too much programs I don't need... When found one exactly with the applications I like, some bugs make me change to another.
Cooking one myself? I try to understand how to do it, but it's bit complex for most users, including me.
Hope you can get the time to create that "tool", I'm sure many users will appreciate.

Sure - but surely not a bug deal. It's GMT +1 which is the important part.

For this - once you activesync, your time, date and timezone should be set as per your PC. Saves the bother of setting everything up manually.

I would suggest as these are one off settings that they should not be a show stopper for you on choosing this as a ROM.

Put the visitor and home timezone both at +1.
I will check the registry if automatic network timezone is activated.

after uninstalling one by one everything and trying to shutdown between each one, I got finally shutdown working.

What version did you end up with?

Thanks for the information :) .

My idea:
Creating a multilanguage ROM.
Creating a program to easy select the packages and language you want.
Hit a build+flash button that creates a personal ROM.
On this way everybody can have their customized ROM.
And I release one personal favorite ROM.

a dream come true... we are in ROM heaven ;)

What version did you end up with?

well, I prefer using Athena project's "AP 3.0 HTC Home 2.1.1005.722.cab" that you may find here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=338409) (get it from the original page since I can't attach it to this post, I get an error).
What I like with this version:

It installs in \HTCHome, so does not bloat \windows folder with lots of png files.
HTCHome.dll is patched to load its own HTCUtil.dll as HTCUti1.dll. Hence shutdown work normally without interfering with another HTCUtil.dll you may have.

Hi adewidt,

I finally started playing with your kitchen. I've found some duplicate files in OEM folders. Here is the list of duplicate files and to which OEM packages they belong:

in OEM\OEMAPPS:

zoomin.bmp and zoomout.bmp: they belong to Adobe Reader 2.0
HTCFSrc.dll and HTCDrmAPI.dll: HTC Audio Manager
HTCWMPPlug.dll: HTC AudioManager Today plugin
VerInfou.dll: in various HTC applications
WmpPluginToday.dll: HTCHome and HTC Audio Plugin Today packages
RtspHandler.dll: HTC Streaming Media

in OEM\OEM_Lang_0409:

SIMManager.htm: HTC SimManager

in OEM\OEMDrivers

SIM_Mgr.exe, SIM_Mgr.lnk: HTC SimManager

another nimor issue is that BuildNB.bat is missing error label. I added the following lines to the end of the file from another BuildNB.bat :
goto :EOF

:error
echo.
echo ERROR! (errorlevel: %errorlevel%)
pause

The last thing is that I prefer HTC's 3G stock dialer rather than the Touch version in black. Does someone know where I can find the original one ? Is there an oem package for it ?

Cheers,

It is possible that you find some files in the OEM folder that belongs to software that is not included. It is extremely much work to clean the OEM folder completely. The original OEM folder had a lot of HTC programs included. I prefer to add those programs as packages. That is why I removed most files from the OEM.

i included HTC SimManager in the ROM, because the Contacts screen uses it. For me these files are not duplicated.

I am not a expert in creating BAT files. The current BAT file works fine for me (using Windows Vista). Personally I don't like a pause command at the end.

Hi Adewit

Nice to see that you are working on a new version. I'm very satisfied with your latest 1.2.

Do you think it would be possible to include this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392197 in your new version.
With this keyboard it should be possible to choose you own lanquage with T9 suggestions.

First of all, thanks to share this OS & Build 19588 with the rest of community.

Some things:

Beam doesn't work because not exist an Irda folder into \SYS. Maybe, Diamond hasn't got a Beam Port, this's the reason.

Also, Bluetooth doesn't work. I've changed \SYS\Bluetooth...and now, it works fine.

Thanks again.

Bluetooth is working fine on the ROM, but it was fixed in the OEM folder to leave the SYS folder untouched.

But what files did you change in \SYS\Bluetooth?

I will add Irda in the next release.

1. Ok, maybe that was the problem. I used my old OEM folder.

I changed all folder.

2. Perfect work.

I've got a 85% finish WWE Ultra-Full ROM. I hope next week I'll finish it. If you need some thing, please send me a PM.

Thanks again.

It would be optimal also add a splash professional as below:

http://200.17.46.5/espsite/3.jpg

A skin in the same pattern of dialer would also be great (please remove that line of blue dialer). Include too Adobe PDF...

THE REST THIS PERFECT! ROM CLEAN!

This discussion has gone on before....you cannot get 64MB of Program memory (RAM). That is the total amount the device has before you push the button to turn it on......

The program does not have CAB support.

I provide the packages.
Maybe a future release adds the possibility to add your own packages (not CABs).
Adding your own packages makes it more difficult for me to provide support.

At this moment there is still a lot of work before it is ready for prime time :) .

The great work's...
As soon as Dutch and English ROM works fine I want to add more languages.
French is also on the list.

It would be fine if you can help me with some translations.
I will contact you when I start working on a French version.

g'reloc is included, but it dramaticly decrease the build speed.
Normally a ROM is build in 30sec with g'reloc 90sec (based on a Core2Duo e6600).
Have to do some investigation why it wants to relocate all modulus.

I hope I can spend some time working on the program at the end of next week.

Try going here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=359) you may find some newer ROMS if that's what you want. If not - try to be a little more specific and I'm sure you'll get plenty of help!
