I tried Mary ROM and now revert back to this ROM. This time not the SL version.
In fact the non-SL version is also very lite. Got those basic apps that required. Good one :D

GPS is not ROM dependent but Radio dependent, so if you have a GPS enabled Radio version, GPS will work with whatever ROM you are using.
As for the 3600I, there are some instructions here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398867).

My strong beliefs are that FInixNOver will not release a 3600I version. But someone from you, 3600I users, has to try to hack the 400 to 401 or whatever it is that you do and find out.

yeh we found that part easy to do, especially with a hex editor - no issues there
the only problem is once the flash is complete, the phone hangs on the bootscreen - the only ROM to have successfully booted so far is the Mary one (lite, super lite, etc.)
I'm interested as to why Mary works, but the others don't.
If we can find out what this issue is, then we'll be sorted of with all our problems... i've pm'd olipro anyway in the meantime, hopefully there'll be some good advice there

Hi,
is there any chance to change the settings of the dialer? In earlier versions there was a link to the list of all calls, now there is the video-call button. Also from the HTC home there used to be a link to list of all calls (missed calls), now the right button only takes you to missed calls (and won't remember if I change the filter settings to "all calls").
Is there a way to change this?
Thanks,
Peter

There's a call history button in the dialer which does that, or you can always press the UP or RIGHT key to get to complete call history while in the dialer.

Thanks for that  Never knew about that shortcut... guess I should use the buttons more ofter, I like to touch too much :D
Btw, here's a screen from my dialer, I don't see a call history button? Only backspace, videocall and call. That's why I asked :)

You don't see a call history button because the dialer is the Video call enabled dialer! The call history button (or in some cases, the same video call button but remapped to link to call history) is in the non video call enabled dialer. So for this one use the up/right button trick or access it through menu!

Nope, dont't think so... (not that I would know of) I got a few gadgets though, PocketPlus (spb), FreeStyl... but I don't remember that anything would include a dialer...

Hold your horses!
First of all:
NOTE: FInixNOver ROMs are not ROMs by request! These ROMs are personal, the cook made them for his own use and the fact that we are using them is an example of his courtesy and will to share!
Second: Cooks can not satisfy every user's needs. We are all different and we all have different tastes and styles. If a cook would even try to satisfy everyone he would probably go crazy within 2 releases. We are here in a place, at the forum, where we are lucky we have the chance of chosing one ROM over another just because of their contents, flavors.
Third and MOST IMPORTANT:
What you did is probably one of the most unfair things one can do by not only disrespecting the cook and his ROM but by advertising another ROM. We don't "crap" each other, nor our works!
An believe me, noone here, neither FInixNOver nor anybody else never replied anyone with an unacceptable attitude from their behalf.
CONCLUSION:
You have two options:
1. be happy with the ROM you are using, it's a fantastic opportunity this forum gives us, the freedom to choice!
2. as my friend FInixNOver used to say: "There's always an option to start learning how to cook". In this case you can make your own ROM and probably, IF you are willing to share, some other unsatisfied disrespectful new user with an attitude will come trashing your work.
I strongly believe an appology would be very welcome, and we, here, are expecting it!

UC works fine for me. I had only problem when I renamed one cab, I forgot to change it in SDConfig, and after that I doesn't have any error message. But this was only my fault. UC works perfectly :)

I read your PM from 26/05/2008 again, and I remember answering to that. But I didn't save what I've wrote, but I think it was something like, I can't satisfy everyone, and although I like to have suggestions, I cannot make the ROM this, or that way, just because you say so.
You were not satisfied about the dialer. You have the dialer you like in the Green ROM. It was a personal choice to use to use a different dialer in Gray and Black ROMs.
But that wasn't enough for you. You were also wanting me to add some software that you like to use, and remove the ones you don't use in my ROM. I'm sorry but I can't comply...
I probably also told you that it was an option to start cooking yourself since you were not very pleased with my work, that you were trying to have changed.
I'm sorry if I was so rude in the way I answered you.

I'm sorry, my mistake. I know I've answered to someone regarding some similar subject, so I thought it was you.
Well, never mind that.
To give a final answer:
I'm already providing the ROM in 3 different colors, and the green one has the dialer you want. Do you have an idea of how many versions I would have to make just to keep everyone happy?
If I were to please you, then I would have to make a green skin for the dialer used in the gray and black ROMs, so I would end up with 12 different versions
4 ROM per color -> 2 light and 2 normal -> 1 for each dialer for both light and normal. This is just insane!!!:o
Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad or angry or anything. I'm just trying to explain the facts.
I made the gray one with a different dialer for 2 main reasons
1 - It was the ROM I was using (before I made the black skin pack)
2 - I like that dialer better (that's why I kept it in the black skin pack)
In addition to this, including the dialer with the call history button, would mean more work for me because I would have to remake the smartdialing part of the skin.
About the adding and removing of apps, I can tell you that I find the selection of apps in the ROM to be well balanced, because there are already other ROMs to choose from, if you want a ROM filled with software.
If you wish to start cooking, I can only congratulate you for it, and ultimately tell you that I'm not here to compete against anyone. I came to this forum, to learn, and give some contribution whenever I can.
I can offer you my limited knowledge if you have some question through PM.

I got the MMS to fully work once I made some changes to the OEM part of the ROM, but I'm not completely sure if some file was missing before, or if it was due to different dll versions, all that matters is, that in the end it's working (really, I can't say for sure what fixed it because I was messing with the OEM part for a while).
About random access, I still haven't found a definitive fix for it rather than the one already posted here, which doesn't work all the time. It's hard when one doesn't have developer/programmer skills (I mean, maybe it would help... or not...)

Hi, I'm writing from Italy, so sorry for my English.
This ROM is perfect, i tried all ROMS, but this is the best of all...
But I remember that in the 3.2 rom, there was 28 MB of ram free, and also the rom was more faster than 3.4 and 3.3 versione... why?
and at least, I tried to install "Patched HTCHomeDll+all_ITA_Cityes" on this ROM, but after I install this cab, nothing change, then I tried to copy the file "HH_0410_WeatherCities" in windows folder, to change the cities in the weather... but nothing... what I have to do?
All 2 files are upload in this post...maybe you want to try it...

Try to:
1. disable Home plugin
2. soft reset
3. try installing the cabs
4. soft reset
5. reenable the Home plugin.
If no joy, then between 2 and 3 try renaming the original files.

I believe you need the file inside the cab to be renamed to 409.

I have a similar problem. I have installed version 3.4 and it works very well but for some reason igo8 starts but runs out of memory even though I have 22-25 megs free ram. I know that this is not an igo t hread, if there is a forum for FInixNOver rom and igo, I would love to read that too.
Thanks

There is no such thread and there's no use creating one. There were some discussions about the iGo in this thread, no need to expand them, there were several split opinions, read through the thread and you will see.
Also, here (http://navngo.com/pages/global/eng/igo_8_description) are the system requirements for iGo 8:
Minimum System Requirements:
• Microsoft® Windows Mobile™ operating system
• 300 MHz processor (400 MHz recommended)
• 64 MB memory (128 MB recommended)
• QVGA or VGA touch screen display
* Please note that by minimum 64 MB memory, they are referring to free memory not theoretical hardware available memory. The fact that it starts on some ROMs is attributed to the fact that at that moment the device has 28-29 MB free RAM. The app will crash anyway, even with 3D off.
Also, here (http://navngo.com/pages/global/eng/igo_8_supported_devices) are the supported devices.
Hope this concludes the chain of questions regarding iGo 8. Note that the P3600 Trinity and the P3600I Trinifin are not mentioned, even though the latter might have a go with this app.
Trinities, they just don't have enough RAM to run it, people should come to face this.

Trinities, they just don't have enough RAM to run it, people should come to face this.
I've noticed some simple things you can do to run it without any issues.
1. Don't use TTS (where the street names are mentioned) - takes up too much memory.
2. Turn all display settings to their lowest. This way you only have the streets.
3. Don't have the elevation datasets loaded.
4. Don't have 324325 apps running in the background all the time.
If you do these things, iGo8 should run fine without issue. I've used it for many trips without any hiccups.
Yes it can be a *tad* slow at times, like where you turn street corners and it gets a tiny bit jerky, but for 85% of the trip it works well with no problems.

I recognised some problems while establishing a phonecall, the call was closed at establishment, that is why I went back to 3.3 Normal.I sometimes experience the same, depending on whether I use my magicsim and which sim card I use with it; I can get around the problem by disabling 3G, though all is supposed to be "3G compatible" *sigh*
So, try again with 3G disabled?

I found a problem, the file that the ".cab" file wants to install is "HH_0410_WeatherCities.xml" but the file used by HTC HOME is "HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml... So I tried to rename my file, and then overwrite the original file (before I disabled HTC HOME and made a soft reset), but I can't overwrite the file, or delete the file... the same problem appears.
First you cannot delete the HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml since it's a ROM file.
Now what yo can do is:
Like tnyynt said, before doing anything, disable HTC Home in Settings->Today.
After that, with a file explorer like Totalcommander, there's some file operations you can make.
1 - If you have already installed you cab with the HH_0410_WeatherCities.xml file, go to Windows folder and move it somewhere else. Rename it to HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml, and copy it back to Windows folder in order to replace the existing one.
2 - You must know if this is the only file that the cab puts into Windows folder, because, if you replace HTCHome.dll with another that doesn't support more cities, you're back to square one.

OK but on the original wm5 rom it used to work. I travelled 1200 kms round trip for 9 hours per trip and it worked OK - with a few soft resets then and again, but now as soon as I press a button after loading it waits 10 minutes to respond. Also IGO6 does not work now either (same problem). I reinstalled the original rom after trying it w/ wm6.1 and it never worked again. I have 25 megs of free ram which should be enough and it still does not work.

Thanks FInixNOver, Totalcommander give me an error, when I tried to delete the default file, I also tried to rename and then overwrite, like you said, but magicaly appaers 2 files with the same name and Weather used default file :D and my file don't rename the dafault file... I think the problem is that this file is in the ROM, or something like this... It have like a protection... I don't know.
If I can I will try with resco explorer...

Hi,
the booting time of my device has been increased to approx. 3 minutes from ver. 3.2 on. Is that normal? I'm using the same programs since ver. 3.1.1 so the issue must be related to the ROM.
BatteryStatus and Ultimate Launch are installed and I also noticed that when I switch UltimateLaunch off in the Today menu (no plugins displayed) and restart the device, it boots noticeably faster (approx 2 minutes - still very slow compared to ver. 3.1.1 WITH UltimateLaunch switched ON).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Something is really messing up you system. I have a boot up time of 32 seconds. Try removing 3rd parties or check registry and DEVICE\Windows\StartUp folder to see what programs autostart.
Also, reducing the number of today screen plugins reduces boot time.

Hi
I'm using 6.1 Black light.
Has anyone experienced that when you reply to an SMS in conversation mode it often gets stuck. Result is you cant send and sometimes you can quickly save to draft and then soft reset and find your SMS text again. After reset you can send your SMS.
The problem seems to occur more often if you reply with larger SMS'es (2+ text messages)

If you read the forum you see that some people report it works and others say they didn't noticed any difference.
But I have to say that for me that problem was commom. Not all the time, randomly, but it happened and it was a pain in the...
So I tried that program and since then it never happened again. So I advise all of you who have this problem to try it. If it doesn't work you don't loose anything.

First off, FInixNOver deserves respect!
After using a week of FInixNOver3.4 Light WWE6.1, i think it's quite stable but some application may not working properly, mine is RandomAccess. It sometimes appears, sometimes not. In gernal, i have quite many third party applications installed and found no problem, it just hang sometimes though....ok....there's a feedback i saw previously says about the bootup time...yes it's true that it takes pretty much booting up to Windows....personally i observe that Win6.1 and 6.0 in comparion of Ram usage i found 6.0 is much less than 6.1....actually i've been using FInixNOver3.0.2 Lite WWE6.0 since its release...brilliant it's damn fast and stable like hell...plus netframe work3.0..wow.....so i finally returned to FInixNOver3.0.2 Lite.......

I have HTC p3600 and I have tested all possible ROMs for Trinity, starting from 6.0 till 6.1 and at last I found FInixNOver3.2 and now I have installed the FInixNOver3.4 Normal - Black one. I can say that this ROm is very nice, stable and easy to use. I have installed 24 different applications and all of them working properly. The main problem which was solved with this ROM is a sync problem with other ROMs, whichj was arising any time with any other ROMs. So I want to say thankful words to Finix for such very powerful ROM and to continue such success work for our happiness. YOU ARE THE GREAT SPECIALIST AND GOOD PERSON (I have read all threads and you are answering in a very good manner and in time).

This is a great ROM. I use the Gray Light version. Thank you at first!
But some issues:
1.) Mail-Attachement and IE Cache on SDCard:
I think it is not enough to set some paths with the Advanced Config. Here a little Mort Script example to set all the things back to the default:
RegDelete( "HKCU", "Software\Microsoft\MAPI", "PropertyPath" )
RegDelete( "HKCU", "Software\Microsoft\MAPI", "AttachPath" )
RegDelete( "HKLM", "System\Inbox\Settings", "PropertyPath" )
RegDelete( "HKLM", "System\Inbox\Settings", "AttachPath" )
RegWriteString( "HKCU", "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer \Shell Folders", \
"History", "\Windows\Profiles\guest\History" )
RegWriteString( "HKCU", "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer \Shell Folders", \
"Cookies", "\Windows\Profiles\guest\Cookies" )
RegWriteString( "HKCU", "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer \Shell Folders", \
"Cache", "\Windows\Profiles\guest\Temporary Internet Files" )
2.) I get no SMS sound if I get an SMS.
3.) Very long boot duration if BatteryStatus Plugin is installed and activated.
4.) Smart Dial colors are unuseable (at least for me). Dark on dark is not readable. Hier a Mort Script, how to change:
RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "Software\HTC\SmartDialing", "clrNormal", HexToNumber( "00ffffff" ) )
RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "Software\HTC\SmartDialing", "clrDupCallLog", HexToNumber( "00ffff00" ) )
RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "Software\HTC\SmartDialing", "clrMatch", HexToNumber( "00000000" ) )
RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "Software\HTC\SmartDialing", "clrMatchText", HexToNumber( "0080ff80" ) )
RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "Software\HTC\SmartDialing", "clrHI", HexToNumber( "00000000" ) )
#RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "Software\HTC\SmartDialing", "clrFLHI", HexToNumber( "00ff8080" ) )
RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "Software\HTC\SmartDialing", "clrMatchSelHI", HexToNumber( "00000000" ) )
RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "Software\HTC\SmartDialing", "clrMatchSelText", HexToNumber( "0080ff80" ) )
RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "Software\HTC\SmartDialing", "clrFLInvert", HexToNumber( "00ffffff" ) )
RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "Software\HTC\SmartDialing", "clrFLNormal", HexToNumber( "00ffffff" ) )
RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "Software\HTC\SmartDialing", "clrInvert", HexToNumber( "00ffffff" ) )
But also with the changed colors the already called numbers are not showed with the right collor (clrDupCallLog - yellow in the Mort Script). They are simply white.
I added the MortScripts in the attachement. The third script sets the performance related registry values (Caching, Animations, ect.).

I'd be happy to reply this but I am using the Green version (even though I know my friend FInixNOver built them the same). Anyway:
1. Schap's Advanced Configuration should be enough. From what I see you've posted as a Mort script, you are setting the defaults to the already defaulted paths in the ROM and in WM6.x itself (???).
Trust me, you can use Schap's Advanced Configuration to change that!
2. Have you turned it on in Settings, Sounds & Notifications, Notifications?
3. It has been discussed earlier. The bottom line: the more today plugins, the slower the boot and especially with BatteryStatus initializing. Normal stock boot of all 3.4 ROMs is > 35 sec.
4. This is a personal thing of your device/eyes, I will not comment it, you are free to customize the colors even though the colors are right! (you sure something did not mess them up?)
5. Took a look at the script attached related to performance. Now, to make things clear: default FInixNOver values are optimal for ballanced performance/stability usage. In other words, anything beyond would have a stability side effect. So: I see you have lowered the glyph cache --> slowdown; cleared the cache for FATFS --> slowdown --> though you are setting default cache size from 4096 to 4096 (???); lowered the ReplStoreCacheSize --> slowdown. Is it me or ar you really trying to hold the ROM's speed back?

We saw your post(s) Rathje.
To be honest, I have not experienced this but the messaging app, in it's threaded mode, usually saves as draft even in you don't actually reply to an sms, but you just simply tap on the text field.
Now regarding your problem, are you sure it is not a problem with reception or communication between your device and the service provider, so you are not being able to send it?
One way you could test is when you experience this again, do not soft reset, simply go to the Drafts folder and try to send again from there.
The other thing you might do is temporarily disable threaded mode in the sms app by applying the registry settings below:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s]
"SMSAvailable"=dword:0
Note: You can return to threaded sms by changing back the dword value of the string to "1".

I tried some FInixNOver roms today ... here are the mem status
FInixNOver 3.4 green
storage 61.20
program 25.5

FInixNOver 3.4 black
storage 62.87
program 25.38
(this theme just rocks ... it has quality written all over its bright black face .. but still green is better)
FInixNOver 3.4 gray
storage 62.18
program 25.29
(I thought this would be the one ... as i used to love the gold (black-gray-gold) ... but it was kinda so so ... it didn't have the oomff of the black nor the weeeee of the green)
FInixNOver 3.4 (the most (almost) perfect 6.1 there is)
issues (only HTC random access has a mind of its own)
FInixNOver 3.0.2 gold
storage 68.29
program 28.65
the most (almost) perfect 6.0 there is ...
the theme ... is cool as hell ... nuff said!!!
issues (bluetooth limitation .. > 2mb and ur stuck)
just wanted to post the memory status ... for obsessed ppl (like me) ;)

Thankyou very much for your answer!
I will try and test following your recommendations.
BUT already now I can add that when it happens these are my options/actions:
- Sometimes I can force a save to draft folder before I simply need to reset
- Often I need to reset anyway, because most other applications also lock
- If I get it saved to draft folder it looks as if the sms is there with titel, receiver etc, but once I try to open that draft I only get blank titel+text. In some cases I can even open and see the text, but I can't send - it's kind of locked/frozen
- When I close that draft, it eraises my text.
- The only safe way I can recover my text is to copy the writen text and then open OneNote and paste it in plus save it before I reset. After reset I can copy paste from OneNote back to sms-text and then suddenly send (very combersome + some of my previous text messages in the conversation are gone - so what benefit do I then have from a conversation, where parts are lost ;-)
OK, maybe not a good consistent test or repro, but I'm very curious if anyone else is experiencing this. At least I think I will try your suggestion of disabling conversation.
Thanks again - I'll revert after some more testing

.. by the way: I can't find any SMSAvailable or dword in that folder you mention. Should I then just add it to the settings folder?
There is another folder on the same level as Settings, that is called SMSText. Is it here I should add the dword?
Best regards

i managed to turn off threaded sms by changing SMSAvailable=0 but the incoming sms sound does not play at all. i changed the registry back to "1" and the incoming sms sound works again. does this happens to anyone?

In one months time, i have flashed 12 ROMS over here and I would give Your ROM a Thumbs UP above all. Good Work. Am using Gray Version.
I am looking forward to your next release v4.0. And i would be much grateful if you focus mainly over two issues.
1. Increased Performace
2. More space for Programs rather than storage. SO that Trinity would run any application smooth.
If the above two are added to your current v3.4; i must say you will beat the Rest.

Yes, I also got it to work switching conversation off and then back.
Now I'm excited to see if it solves my sms-issues. Need some more testing time and will revert.

I have done 5-6 different ROMS and really want this one; However after excuting the ROMUpdateUtility.exe and giving permission "yes," it goes to the bootloader and just stays there and then i get the error 260 connection error. Any ideas?

Thank you for the answer! :-)
1.) Schap's Advanced Configuration was for me unfortunately not enough. I tryed.
I changed the 3 registry entries: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp lorer\Shell Folders\History , \Cache, \Cookies
I also selected the "do not use the SD card" in the mail program. But after that the SD card was still used.
So I found out, that this must also be deleted:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MAPI\AttachPath, \PropertyPath
HKLM\System\Inbox\Settings\AttachPath, \PropertyPath
After deleting these 4 reg entries, the SD card was not used anymore.
2.) Here I found out, that the SmileSMS program was the problem. I deleted it, and the SMS signall is working now.
3.) I think, in general you are right. But the FInixNOver 3.2 has no problem with the BatteryStatus plugin. The 3.3 and the 3.4 are unuseable if this plugin is installed. So I downgraded to 3.2.
4.) I think, black font color on dark grey background is in sunlight for nobady readable. Maybe for others is the not readable information not important? :-)
5.) I only tried to optimize the device for speed and for stability. So I turned off the file system cache, to ensure that by a reset no informations will be lost.

Quick question in terms of this ROM and running a later version of ArcsoftMMS - I noticed in the 3.3 ROM that when I get an mms, it doesn't come up with the contact name, just the international version of the phone number (although when you open it, you do see the contact name in the message details, only it never updates to link that message with the contact in the threaded messages screen)...in Australia mobile numbers are 04xxxx, whereas when I get an mms, I get the international +614xxx.
This isn't the case when I send an mms though, as it obviously pulls the details from the contacts database and tags the mms to that particular contact...
Anyone noticed this in v3.4? Or is there a reg tweak I can do to resolve this? I wasn't sure whether it was something linked to the threaded messages or not, and whether the reg edit to un-thread the messages might fix it.
It isn't a major thing, more of an annoyance, but if it's a simple fix I might as well do it...just thought I'd see if anyone knew.
Thanks

I don't know why this is happening to you, because in my device when an alarm goes off, it shows a pop up with the following options in the bottom bar:
"Dismiss" on the left
"Menu" on the right with the sub options to "snooze for 5, 10, 15min"... and "dismiss all".

So, you have not hard SPLed your device yet? I think you should!
I'm using Des crash proof hard SPL. If you had hard SPL, you could try entering bootloader manually, and then running the RUU.
Also remember not to touch your device or the usb cable when flashing, because sometimes a small touch can cause the usb cable to loose connection momentarily, which you won't notice, but it will cause the error.
Hope this helps.

I can't by any means send a Voicemail as it appears in the options tab when you are creating a new message. I can use SMS and MMS but no luck with VoiceMail. Is there anything you can help me with FInix?
By the way does someone knows any software that can emulate an answering machine? that would be the most usefull app ever, let the soft take the incoming call and record the message to your phone, then I could save lots of money I usually pay my provider for using my voicemail function.
P.S. Finix please, please take windows media player out from your next project, audio manager is much better.

Or is there another way to switch it off?

Hi Tnyynt.
Yeah, I know... I was going to delete them, but then I thought that if I run into problems, other people like me with less experience in this forum are probably going to do so too, however basic the mistake is.
This way, if they do a search for the solution, they'll hopefully find my posts and thus find the solution. I started flashing the new ROM at 10.30pm last night, and by the time I had finished playing around with it and searching for related threads, it was 4am. So, yeah, eventually I found the answers for myself. Enjoyed every second of it though!

Hi Tnytnt.
I have been searching, honest! I've been through that page quite a few times, but being relatively new to this, I got worried as I noticed that the cabs there are said to only be for WM6:

I also noticed a thread there from someone, like me, searching for something 6.1 compatible:
"new Microsoft Office Mobile 6.1 cab [Archive] - xda-developers12 Jan 2007 ... just_jeepin. 29-11-2007, 08:36 PM. Does anyone have a cab file for the official Microsoft Office Mobile 6.1 that was released today? ..."
I did notice one source but it says its for Smartphone:
"Office Mobile 6.1 for SMARTPHONE [Archive] - xda-developersOffice Mobile 6.1 for Office 2007 file compatibility... If you would like .cab files, you can extract the .msi files and pull the .cab's out by using this ..."
So anyway, what I'm really asking is... can someone give me a safe working link for an office application that will work with this ROM. The last thing I want to do is download something that won't work.....

I bet you have associated cab files with winzip or winrar. So you've made the most commom error ever. You've extracted the cab, and now you're wondering what to do with the files you got from that process. This is basic knowledge of windows. Don't ever extract a cab, just copy it to your device and run it there!

"What we've got here is, failure to comunicate... So, we get what we had here last week, which is the he wants it. well, he gets it. And I don't like it any more than you man..."
I bet you have associated cab files with winzip or winrar. So you've made the most commom error ever. You've extracted the cab, and now you're wondering what to do with the files you got from that process. This is basic knowledge of windows. Don't ever extract a cab, just copy it to your device and run it there!
My bad, I should have been far more specific, it was not the rom_licencer.cab [plus it does not have 4 .EXE files container :D ], it was the issue with the "FInixNOver3.4_GrayNormal.rar", which I have since learned, via trial and error, to workout how to use.
Now if I could get around the communication errors [260] on both Vista64 Ultimate and XP Pro; both of which are fully up to date.....
I notice that the program [ROMUpdateUtility.exe] removes/disconnect the sync.
My current image version is the original 3.00.707.18.

Hello FinixNOver!
I don´t know if you could remember some posts on other version 3.2 and 3.3 about the Bug of Bluetooth HandsFree disconecting after 30s with the car.
I went with Akeos firm just because it didn´t had that BUG.
I have Upload your 3.4BlackNormal and the Bug is still there.
After paring with the car for 30s it disconects the Bluetooth on the P3600. To make it run again only manual in the "Commanager" and activating the Bluetooth again.
Has i said in the past, if you need a "betatester" :) you can count with me! ;) to help me and you with this prob.
Um abraço

Have had ROM 3.4 Light (Green) running for a week or so now - absolutely great. All Spb products installed (on sd when possible), no problems, great speed, great look. Thanks as always to FInixNOver.

I downloaded some wm6 themes and was wondering about the most efficient way to change the custom parts of this rom (like the dialer). Can anyone shed some light on this?

It's not rocket science, you just have to edit the files or design new ones and replace them on the device.

It certainly isn't rocket science. But will you design your rocket with just a pen and a notepad or will you also be using a calculator?
I don't think FInixNOver uses mspaint to change all the files for his themes. I have searched the web for a nice freeware batch-color-converter but couldn't find one that makes the job easy.
I'll rephrase my question. Could anyone tell me what software they use to modify the color of the themes?

Something new (version)? :)

I think he is not referring to the Today Themes but the general aspect of the ROM (DialPad, CommManager, Windows Media Player, etc.).
Files are editable in any image editor (such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc.)

Hi FInixNOver,
First off, let me start by saying that I've been trying to upgrade my SPV700 to WM6.1 and your 3.4 ROM is definately the best I've found so far. And I've tried quite a few of them I can tell you! :)
The Lite version is very fast, and seems stable, so I've plumped for that in the Grey and managed to set my device up pretty much as I wanted it... For the first time in ages! :)
Now then, for some possible "bugs"... I've found only 2 thus far.
(1) By default, it seems that WM5torage1.8 does not work properly. Upon connection to the PC, although a USB device is detected it is not enumerated properly by WXP thus no proper data connection is established. But I found that if I deselect "Enable Advanced Network Functionality" in the USB-PC Connections Settings then the problem seems to go away.
(2) Whenever I make or recieve a call (fab dialer, by the way; simple GUI with nice BIG soft buttons!) the speakerphone volume is always on the low side. If I adjust it either up or down via the slider control it immediately recovers to a more acceptable level.
On a general note, I believe that your ROM, like every other WM6/6.1 I've tried, does appear to suffer from some degree of long term memory leakage. And no amount of shutting down programs or using Hibernate etc ever quite recovers all the memory. Is there some intrinisic problem with the basic WM6x kernal that you know of?...
Very well done with your efforts anyway. You have at least one happy customer! :)
Cheers,
LL

You need to set up WM5torage, to be more exact, in troubleshooting you have to Disable concurrency and RNDIS on activate.

Hi tnyynt,
Thanx for your feedback.
I have already tried changing those settings, which by default are both unticked (i.e. not Disable Concurrency and not Disable RNDIS) but the ticks dont appear and the problem remains?...
FInixNOver - I also wanted to mention about the newer style (WM6.1?) text previewing panel. Its good to see the ongoing converstation thread whilst composing a text/reply, but is there anyway to turn this mode off? Or at least increase the size of the typing pane - two visible lines is all I get and it would be good if I could have more?
Cheers,
LL

I'll answer both questions as my friend FInixNOver is a bit busy these days:
1. The correct procedure is: start WM5torage, tick Lock card on attach only, activate, connect device, Troubleshooting, tick both (it will not show as ticked, but it will tick them), disconnect device, deactivate, activate, connect device.
2. It's called threaded sms. To play with the settings, edit the registry at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s\
SMSAvailable=
dword:0=classic style
dword:1=threaded style

Hi tnyynt,
That's fairly a convoluted procedure for the WM5torage... But I followed it and it works! :)
As does the Reg edit for the Threaded SMS (I learned something new there!). No way to have an adjustable panel then - say by dragging the margin line with the stylus?...

You have it at post #114.

For any of you who, like me, have tried to disable Threaded SMS only to find the notifications stop working too, then take a look at this thread.

I tried it out and it worked for me. OK, so you may have to actually add in the appropriate key for this particular fix, but hey...

Hello Finix!
I´m still testing to try to find the prob.
One thing i have noticed wend i arrive to the car is if i put the p3600 on a more hidden place than usual it doesn´t start paring with sucess. but with other ROMs (Akeo) even in a far more hidden place it would pair with success, trunk of the car!
Can it be a lower value of "Power in the Bluethoot" that´s causing this probs of paring unparing? Probably to make the rom consume less batery, but it gives this resoult with the HandsFree?

Member "Ervius" has already made an application to sort this out. No need for registry modifications. Just download the cab, copy it to your storage card, click on it, then go find it in your program list. It gives you the option to turn on threads (chat enabled) or off, and whether you want sms notifications too. Well worth having:

Hello,
I'm testing/using this ROM for a couple days... so far so good! ;)
I use it mainly as MP3 player and as GPS on the car.
Some comments:
1- My iDream A2DP Headphones-Clip works OK with this ROM!!!!
Just need to start the clip on discovering mode and tap "Quick link to:
BTHS01" on today's screen.
2- Works OK with TT 7.4 (just need to select "other NMEA device")
3- It has no issue with my favorite app: Mortplayer!
My sugestion to improve your ROM:
1- Somehow, you should increase the contrast between the background and the items. Sometimes it's too hard to see something, specially, on sunny days.
2- add the "Equalizer" app.
Thank's for sharing it! :D

Hello,
I would like to remove the battery status at next to the Start menu.
You can see the battery status when close all programs.
When I close all programs and I see the Today, I would like to see the digital clock.
How can I replace the battery status to clock?
Other:
Anyone can share with me the original green and blue Windows Mobile 6.1 themes?
Best regards,
Szabolcs
