How about some descriptions and screens for this ROM?
Does it have HTC touchflo? How does its contact application look like? etc.

SPL 3.5 means... WHAT base ROM? AP4, AP3, AP5, IRUS?
WM6 or WM6.1?
Other info?
EDITED
The ROM's name explain something: IRUS rom (settings, about)claims to be the WM6.1 19521.1.1.0 build; from the file name this ROM seems to be the WM6.1 19209.1.0.2 (older build ...). Otherwise sometime rom cookers edit the build numbers ....

Hmm, there is some customization that's missing here, maybe to make it "Ultra Lite". Gotta tweak it to see if I like it or not.

*Update*
Ok, a LOT of this ROM is in Russian, I really don't like the included apps, there are some pirated application on there, HTC X-Button doesn't work at all, there isn't the same HTC Home as AP4/5, you can't customize the menu AT ALL, the scroll bars are thin making it VERY hard to use your finger, it starts using OzVGA, not even RealVGA, HSDPA is disabled by default...The only thing I like about this ROM so far, is that my MobileTalk application actually works, and that I can run Garmin again due to the larger RAM size. I will wait for AP5 vanilla before I flash again, or I'll try AP4, as at least that works with my MobileTalk program.

*Update 2*
Wow, here's a MAJOR problem with this ROM, apparently he didn't add the ability to uninstall programs. Sorry buddy, but because of this, this ROM is gone.

darkjedi,
Sorry, however not all your conclusions about this ROM are correct.
1. There are NO programs in Russian. All are in English.
2. Yes, there isn't the same HTC Home as AP4/5. But nobody said that it must be here
3. The menu used is QuickMenu. It is fully customizable and it has HTC X-Button functionality inside. You even do not need HTC X-Button installed. To customize menu just click Start->QuickMenu->Options
4. It is easy to make the scroll bars as thick as you like - just run
OzVGA and customize
5. Yes it has SOME problems with uninstall, but it is not so critical
And what about speed of this ROM? It is very, very quick and responsive.
Actually it is Ultra Lite, but high-speed system.

Actually it is Ultra Lite, but high-speed system.Sorry but no, I do not want some "QuickMenu" program that looks ugly and is obtrusive. HTC X-Button is small and does it's job, and allows me to just hit the X and the program closes. And btw, the OS STARTS in Russian btw, and CorePlayer is all in Russian. So I have to go into ANOTHER program just to edit the menu? Ugh. That's incredibly stupid. OzVGA is annoying and very buggy. And WHERE is the add/remove programs? Let me guess, ANOTHER program? Nice attempt, but with all this crap? Sorry but AP4.0, bugs and all, is much better.

Does not sound like an ultra lite to me if it contains so many unwanted third party bloatware.
I'm still waiting for a true vanilla, not pseudo vanilla. On Spl 1.2 please. There's no need to lose any memory to useless programs.

You know even with all the negativity, I may try it. Still having several issues in AP4 and AP5. Waiting to install the next Ap5
1) So the startup and/or Coreplayer is in Russian - who cares Install wwe version
2) I hate the HTC Home in Ap4 and AP5 too big.takes up way to much of the today screen. ALways install htc home vga over it anyway.
3) Quick Menu is really not that bad. It is installed in many of the roms in other forums - Kasier especially.
4) Haven't used OzVga since my universal - It have some issues awhile back, but it was basically like realvga used in other AP rom..Not sure if it works well, but hey why not try it while I wait for another AP rom
5) This seems like a real issue, that would suck, but again I just feel like flashing something, while I wait for another rom to try....

This ROM works practically without problems. And very fast.
On speed and reliability it the best of all for Athena.
And Russian? It I would learn only that it talked Lenin. (V.V.Mayakovsky)

Does it have HTC Touchflo and the new Contact Applications ? Is the speed as fast as the WM6.0 stock ROM?
Have you tested its GPS, bluetooth, and WIFI yet? Could you uninstall the big menu, russian coreplayer, ozVGA, and HTC X-button?

eagle 1,
If you are using SKTools you can just rename "SDMMC" to "Storage Card" and all your shortcuts starts working again
Start SKTools and pls do the following:
1. Click Tools
2. Click Settings
3. Find and click Storage Cards
4. Click SD Memory Card and replace SDMMC with Storage Card
5. Click Tools and then OK
After that your card will have the name as you like :)

eaglesteve,
1. No this ROM does not contain HTC Touchflo and the new Contact Applications
2. The speed is faster than WM6.0 stock ROM, it is faster than other roms.
It is not only my opinion. As you can see above Daniel_Kwon and yug555 reports the same.
3. Yes I tested GPS, bluetooth, and WIFI. All works fine. I am using my Advantage daily:
- GPS: navigation software at least twice per day - no problems with GPS
- Bluetooth: listening music with my Motorola S9 headset - the best results with this rom I have. Using stock rom i have problems - there were music short interruptions periodically. And i spent a lot of time trying to configure bluetooth to eliminate these interruptions but without success. In this rom no additional configurations required. Just run the player and listen the music
- WiFi: daily connect to my home WiFi access point to use internet - no problems
4. You could not uninstall big menu, russian coreplayer, etc. because they are in the ROM. But you can DISABLE them. I did the following:
- QuickMenu: i personally prefer to use Wisbar Advance 3. To disable QuickMenu I moved QuickMenu.lnk form Windows\Startup folder to another folder.
- Russian coreplayer: it is multilanguage software. you can configure it to use in English.
- HTC X-button: there is no HTC X-button in this rom. Instead Wisbar Lite is using for similar things (close app, etc). You can also disable it moving WisBarLite.lnk form Windows\Startup folder to another folder
5. ozVGA: personally I am using my Advantage only in 192 DPI. I configured the scroll bars to be a little thick. In it is OK for me
Hope answered all your questions.

darkjedi,
Sorry, disagree. This is not "MAIN" issue.
You can activate MS uninstall software using the following registry modification (as taxist already wrote):
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Remove Programs]
"Hide"=dword:00000001
Please change to : "Hide"=dword:0 and make soft reset.
And Remove Programs became available in Settings-System.

Al936,
Thanks for providing me with these info.
It's a pity that there is no HTC touchflo, as it is really really lovely to be able to use gesture to scroll through items on screens. Unfortunately I do not like Ftouchflo at all as it kills the sound and causes Opera to be non-functional.
Without the HTC touchflo, there is really no detectable difference between WM6 and 6.1, as far as user interface is concern, is there? The new pocket IE has no appeal to me.
I'd stick with my stock ROM for the time being as it is as fast as any other ROM I've tried so far and seems more stable than most of them, or as stable as the best.

Some general words about this Rom.
This Rom is one more alternative for these who have SPL 3.5 at the moment.
If somebody do not like it - it is their opinion. And they should decide to use it or not. However this rom bring us more possibilities to choose. And this is good.

There is mod of Taxist's rom. The mod is uc compliant and you can go to this link

to create your own sdconfig.txt file.
The ROM author is Taxist. UC compliant functionality was added by Irus.

I kinda like this rom, it is pretty fast. But I do have a few issues.
Biggest one, is I cannot get HTC Audio Manager to work after loading the cab. Tried two different cabs, that I know have worked on other Athena Roms. Haven't figured out how to change notepad app from Russian, but found out how to change Coreplayer to English
To change Coreplayer to English from Russian
Go to /Application/Data/Coreplayer and change the config.xml file to EN under language instead of RU, save file and Coreplayer is in English.

This will fixup .NET issues - Taxist please include these files in ROM

taxist,
Seems like you're good at building lean and mean ROM, which is what many of us are looking for.
Could we get you to build one for spl 1.2, without ozVGA or quick menu? Would be very nice to include HTC touchflo and the new contact application.

Perhaps you could make also an even lighter version without shareware applications? Maybe you can just make an add-on package for them, so users can install what they prefer?

I remember someone saying (it might have been midget1990) that having as many pre-installed programs as will fit into a ROM makes no difference to free memory, since the nk.nbf file will be the same size regardless, so that particular storage area cannot be utilised by the device.
If having applications built into a ROM saves using program memory that would be utilised by manual installs then surely you'll be worse off doing full CAB installs from scratch?
I don't mind a few unwanted programs lying about, so long as they're doing nothing - hell i've been using Windows long enough!
I seriously doubt that a vanilla ROM will be any faster than AP4/5, which comes with so many functional and finely tuned applications I don't really understand why you'd want to go vanilla, short of some chronic psychological tidiness issue.
Surely if you must go vanilla you can build one yourself with the ROM kitchen.
PK and the Athena project team have built a superb ROM which makes the Advantage a device to reckon with - something it certainly WASN'T to begin with: to me sacking this off for a completely vanilla ROM is a bit unnecessary.
Oh well, we're all different I suppose!

This is fastest ROM available for athena right now. Sergiopi recent tests also confirms this. It's not vanila that it makes faster. It's simple - I prefer to flash device directly from SD card and it's working great with SPL 3.5 and all current available ROMs
It takes just few minutes to flash AP4/5 or any ROM. I flashed AP5 beta and right after this ultralite. There is a vast increase of speed in this rom in display rendering speed - simple scrolling or application startup time is much better. I assume that if taxist fill this rom with pre-installed applications we will have same FAST and usable ROM. IRUS rom is also fast as this one - I used full version earlier but I prefer this one with refreshed OS core and increased sony bluetooth watch MBW-150 speed/battery life.

I agree, we are different, but if I rotate the screen and it is 100% faster (double speed) this isn't related to "how we feel". And I rotate it during my common usage :)
Opening opera, same release, same results, 100% faster starting, and I use Opera
Opening and scrolling \windows directory minimum lag and I use the file system.
Soft reset, much faster, and I soft reset my Athena :)
This is related to LESS applications? More room for XIP? Less active processes? Good cooking? I don't know, but if those are the results... WELCOME Lite!
This is a common Idea in many other device forum: gimme it FAST, I will load the appz I need! We are developers, not customers :D

VERY FAST!
Wifi working
Uninstall working
Keyboard is best thing ever
Windows-directory is opening without delay, there are only few files inside, really clean.
ozVGA working great, except small visible bug in Phone settings (last tab)
New CommManager style is great
Notification sounds disabled by default :)
Preinstalled Office without Powerpoint still inside  (UL?)
All i need is HTC SIM Manager to get access to SIM Contacts to copy to Phone Memory and a installable working Dialpad. Does the Manila Addon Dialer work with this?
Newest Opera build working without problems with wifi and 3G Connection.
I'm happy
EDIT: Still don't know how to install SIM Manager, i tried the file from "All extracted HTC Apps" Thread but doesn't work. Smartdialing.cab from this thread messes up the dialpad.
Does anybody know a cab for VGA users?

I like what I'm hearing, and am itching for a fast ROM like this. Taxist, Irus, Pawell, which of you will be the first to release a real real fast clean ROM on spl1.2?:) If you're unable to test because you're stuck on spl3.5 and unable to come back yet, I could help in the testing.

Hello Taxist,
Now that you have us upgrading at a heafty pace....given your impressive rom, I have a couple of questions for you (or anybody else that can help):
1. Is the latest rom uc compliant (I have not yet taken advantage of uc but given the recent pace of upgrading I figure it might be worth my learning about how to do this)?
2. I have been under the impression that it is better to install my applications to the sd storage card in order to keep the main memory as unburdened as possible. Is this a good strategy?
Thanks for giving us a taste of the real potential of the advantage.

I think it's because taxist cooked sim manager away. smartdialing isn't included too, so if we get a working cab it might work. I enabled sim-contacts to show with advanced config, but still no contact shown. Maybe it's really because of missing Sim Manager.
Yes, Rom is very very fast and visualization is also well done.

You can do it yourself :)
Just do the following:
1. extract zip
2. copy SIM_Mgr.lnk to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs
3. copy SIM_Mgr.exe to \Windows
4. Enjoy :)

In new builds 19588 and is higher, it is considerably updated shell, I used 96dpi resources from older build 19202 which are intended for work with old shell, therefore we have this problem with phone and contacts.
For elimination of this problem for me it is necessary official ROM from QVGA device, with build not less than 1958* if who knows about such, - specify where.

Smartdialing is working, only thing not working is Smartdialer Menu not in Menu list and SIM-Manager Menu not in Contacts list menu, but SIM-Manager launchable over Programs list.
Tried with ozVGA(96dpi?) and seVGA(198dpi?) and both working. I do not use RealVGA, because i like the big buttons, i do not use stylus.
Install:
-SIM-Manager cab (then copy contacts from SIM to storage on device)
-patched Smartdialing cab from the posted thread above, not another one, the older versions mess up dialpad!
-Manila dialer (Optional),
Original dialer in ROM working too with this Smartdialer, but this one has no Videodial option in menu, so i use Manila dialer.

Yes. In Irus ROM, SIM manager is there and working fine, so I did not install the new one. I can see all my contacts from SIM, edit them in the SIM and so on.
My problem is that in Manilla dialer there is no Call button at all ( or I am missing something). When I dial a new number, which is not found in my contacts by smartdialer, then I can push my joistick to start a call, but if the number was found in my contatcs by smartdialer, pushing joistick (Enter) opens this empty contact page. This means the only way to place a call using smartdialer function in Manila dialer is to use hard keypad, isn't it? Or you have some other option?

I agree with Chaves who says that it is better to exclude resco file explorer and picture viewer because (a) they are trial, and (b) you cannot upgrade. I tried to install resco 2007 over the installed one in the hope that I could remove it and upgrade to 2008 but no luck.
Furthermore, with this rom resco explorer is unable to connect to my home network (I did not have this problem with your first rom). This is a substantial limitation.

Before AP4 Irus & I were running a rom that had some missing components one of the missing items was the network wizard. I think I was using this cab to help with that issue. (but not positive if this was the one) here it is for anyone that wants to try it (as always it is best to do a device backup before trying something like this) there is a zip file that actually contains the operator settings that gets installed, you may want to try to get a newer version than is in this cab if it does not work at first.

Well and good if it is really lean and mean. Except this sports car has a trailer hook on it (such as trial version of an old Resco Explorer:D). The presence of these unnecessary components suggest that more thoughts are needed into planning what should be in and out. Just my two cents. Thanks for the tips. I had been wondering why I was'nt able to exlude Opera. I'll try out your suggestion.
Do you know of a way to bring back sound for touchscreen and hardware keys also? I find audio feedback to be extremely important. WIthout that sound, I'm unwilling to use Ftouchflo. It is like typing on a keyboard that is completely without tactile feedback. I'd rather have that audio feedback and forced to use scroll bar, than to use finger scrolling without the sound.
I regard a ROM much more highly if it has HTC touchflo in it.l

The absence of network wizard (as any other wizard) in ULTRA Lite is acceptable IMHO
I agree about resco: xnview as image viewer and total commander as file explorer should be the only fix needed (and I applied it, simply deleting tle old resco links and installing total commander xscale, deleting resco image links, changing the PIMG.exe links in registry and installing xnview pocket )
A "wizard" is something monitoring the system, consuming CPU and system resources: not suggested to speed up a system, as customer experience, windows update, windows live, many taskmanager...

great rom but how do I make HSDPA work?HSDPA IS on, but if you want the icon, you'll have to edit the registry, OR download Schap's Advanced Config, go down to "HSDPA", even though it's set on Yes, set it to No, then set it back to Yes, then save and reset. Done :)

PD: The screen when uniting the keyboard does not appear…I think you mean "PS", and the screen doesn't turn on when you attach the keyboard. You are correct about this. A little disappointing honestly. Also, why are the menu's still small after disabling OzVGA? Meaning the text in the "right-click" menu is all small text instead of the regular size.

Install pocketCM and change in HKLM\software\microsoft\shell\rai the association MSCONTACTS poutlook with "\[path]\pocketcm.exe" (don't forget the double "")
Isn't a system patch but you can easy use contacts...
It does not work for me. the reg key "1" was already set for pocketcm. I think, it was set by installer or by pocketcm config. However i have the empty screen bug in contacts all the time. There is a key named "string 1" which is set as ":MSPOUTLOK". Maybe this the reason?
EDIT:
It works only in half. contacts key opens pocketcm. but it is not enough. if you are in phone/history, and click the record there, what opens? good old poutlook with big empty page, insted of pocketcm.
Besides, pocketcm has one big bug. you can't use cut and paste while editing.

I read some question, of "not working,......" or "working...."
Nothing personal but 90% is bullshit!
Contacts bug: well explained and some temporary patch found
Uninstall: fixed with registry hack, with extrernal tool or in the new Ultra lite ROM
NO camera? camera is fully working, with the newest app.
Cyberon speed dial? look around, find and install it!
Powerpoint? find WM6 office in Microsoft website OR in this forum and install it!
Network wizard, stk, and so on... MAN this is ULTRA LITE and ULTRA LITE means BASIC applications, and FAST ROM
If you have a race car you feel stupid complaining about missing air conditioner, missing rear seat, missing bumpers, missing.... I know, you have a family PLEASE BUY A Family car
I couldn't agree more! Everyone bitches about wanting a vanilla or ultralite rom. One is provided and people complain. Yes, there were some minor issues, but most fixes have been posted..But most people don't read the thread.
If you want to install a vanilla or ultralite rom, be prepared to search and download the cabs you want to install. This rom is so much faster and more stable then anything else previously available....Just do some registry edit, install some cabs and you'll be happy until the next version (which will be posted soon)
If you don't want to do reg edits, and install some cabs, don't install the Rom...There are other alternatives... For me, I try them all....

i guess your right, since the release of the rom i have been trying to fix some of the minor things like playing video in htc album or removing resco apps but i guess the part i was missing is that everyone can add what they want. so i think i will release a beta soon with some minor fixes and release a more detailed how to so people can cook there own stuff in. on a side note the main difference between this rom and my rom, as for whats important to me, is the bluetooth stack let me toggle the volume up and down from the phone for my BT headset as my BT headset has not volume up or down. but one thing is true is that this rom is fast and the boot up time is also really fast :)
edit: does anyone care about subdisplay?

Yes you are correct. I did not mean to dis your or PK rom's. Just different versions, etc. The thing I like about this Rom vs your's (original) is the base rom version is newer and thus many things such as bluetooth, 3g connection and wifi seem to wok better for me and my installed apps. I am sure your next rom with an updated base rom will be a big hit. If we can get an updated ROm base that includes both XIP and SYS would even be greater. There seems to be many new wm6.1 rom bases being released this week.
You are correct, many people would appreciate an update with the fixes and what many are considered essential apps. Even instructions on the currently posted fixes would help many.

Let's all stay positive and try to look at this issue calmly.
I support the strategy of going as Vanilla as possible for the sake of speed. I'm also in agreement with the preceeding post that we should be able to install many of "missing applications" ourselfs. The intent of the ROM cook here, I believe is to create a blazing fast ROM with only the base components, and it is what many people are looking for.
However, where the strategy is right, the tactical difference comes from the fact that there are different perceptions on what constitute basic ROM.
I think these should go
=================
To some, absence of Power Point is bothering. To me it is not, because I can install it myself, or I am more likely to want to use SoftMaker in place of Office Mobile 6.1. Therefore I like the idea of leaving out Office, and leave it for each individual to install their own cab if they want it. Like wise, I prefer that pocket Internet Explorer be excluded, as it is only a white elephant that would never get used, given the availability of Opera Mobile and Netfront 3.5.
In the next version (and I hope a version will be available for spl 1.2), I personally would hope to see HTC X-button, oZVGA, quickMenu, Resco File Explorer, Coreplayer, and HTC Home all removed. I find it annoying that after each hard reset I need to spend some effort removing these components the first thing before I do a Restore. Although the cab of these programs only take up otherwise unused space in ROM, the installation of them does take up user memory (please correct me if I'm wrong). It also mess things up to have two copies of programs (different version of course) in the system. So in this regards, we can make it even more Vanilla.
I think these should be fixed
=====================
On the other side, however, the absence of uninstall components for example, is bothering to me. Can anyone sincerly say that this may not be needed by some? I think it is an example of the integral part of the ROM that should not require further tweaking in order to work. Who wants to have to repeat all the registry entry after each hard reset? Why not just call Storage Card Storage Card instead of SDMMC? Why not make sure there is no Russian Language around? Double clicking on a contact should be able to bring up the summary screen that lets you call, text, or email the person. Not entire sure what the problem is with the Camera, but this should be made to work with the default button. Any reason why it is a good idea to have it NOT work?
I think we should not be bothered by these so called "not working" components
==================================================
As for SIM manager, it is for most people a one-off thing. I personally would not cry if it is not there. Hey, if by taking that off it speeds things up, why not? They are so many other ways to copy the damn things. Use sktools for example.
As for network wizard, I personally won't miss it either. Just like Sergiopi I already know the network setting by hard. I actually find it annoying that each time I hard reset, it tries to configure the network for me. Anyway in my case the wizard always get it wrong and what it configures never work, so I need to manually edit it anyway.
Cyberone is in my mind a right candidate to be removed. Many of us don't use such program, and those who do may be using MS Voice Command. So, no justification for complain here, as this is intended to be a lean and mean blazing fast ROM.
I think this should be included
======================
HTC TouchFlo, and the new contact application. While I am currently using Vito Contact, I prefer to keep the device lean and mean by using the standard one. The main shortcoming of the standard is the inability to finger scroll it.
BTW please do not install FtouchFlo. It kills off the sound, and the device is not nice to use without feedback.
Thanks for your patience and readin this long post.

CAMERA is in the rom, people sometime start the keyboard application before starting the brain application! :)
Sergiopi: I have an stupid problem with total comander and registry because when I install TC doesn't appear the registry application. Do you know if is a fault of the cab I am installing? in other words, could you post the tc.cab that creates registry program too?
thanks.

I have made a hard reset. I didn't install a PIm. The problem still there. If you are in the phone screen and you push on the right, over a contact, it opens a window with contact details, but only appears the information you could have on notes, no the name, address, etc.
what you can see if you are in the same screen?
I noticed now that If I use OzVGA (96 DPI) there is a blank contact issue. I usually use 192 DPI with big fonts and contact list works great for me.

You are 100% right. What I propose is to make really clean ultra, ultra lite ROM and make a "repository" of CABS for us, users to install what we need/like/want to. It does not have to be stored on one server, I think of it as of a list of links to CABS already posted here on XDA or elsewhere, or even CABS made especially to use on this ROM.
I think the Office suite should be removed, because for example I never used it on my Athena (and I have it for more then a year now...), and I think I am not the only one. So as I propose, there should be a CAB for Office, maybe even 2 CABS - one with PowerPoint, the other without it.
Some thing with WWW browser - I think base ROM should not include one. Instead there should be packages for IE, Opera (maybe one for old 8.65 and second for brand new 9.xyz) & Netfront.
Also as some people do not like ozVGA - maybe better make a CAB for it and second one for RealVGA?
Some applies to so called "home plugins", dialers etc.
I do not know, nor have experience in cooking ROMs if it is easily possible to do this that way, but if it is, maybe this is the best way - give us a really minimalistic base and packages we can install to adapt it to our needs, as I think there are not two users with same needs even here on XDA...

I remove all standard letter recognition, caligraphy, etc the first thing after hard reset to make it really empty, keeping only the standard keyboard. this makes way for my favourite keyboards to go in with least memory problem.

I recomend that you include "Resco Backup" in next ROM, it's just one .exe with 400K. Also GPS intermediate driver dll fix from post

works fine, should be included also by default.

I've tried and got rid of this rom, there's too much that doesn't work for my taste, in particular audiomanager and or s2p, can't stand coreplayer for music, not finger friendly.
it is fast, but then so is an athena dropped from a great height, and that's not likely to do what I want it to either.. ;)

I hidden it

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings]

I use PDA as a laptop, and I do not understand for what on athena is necessary audiomanager and a friendly finger.
My ROM is intended for people working with PDA, instead of for entertainment.

I just installed this rom, its very fast for sure.
The problem i face is that i am unable to browse/check emails because the internet connection won't work with this rom.
However it works fine when its connected via Activesync.
Any ideas?

I love how this rom is fast, I think that's what cooks should strive for....the fastest rom possible.
However, the lack of the auto rotate feature that's in the "modded Taxist ROM" release 05-06-2008 has left me wanting....I mean, when I put the keyboard on and it flips to landscape, I have to manually go into screen menu to change it back to portrait, and when I cover the phone with the keyboard it switches to landscape so then I have to manually change it back to portrait....
if I"m in portrait I have to manually change it back to landscape...it takes away from the whole experience.....
Please include the auto rotate feature in your next rom release or a cab of some sort that could make this happen.....thanks for the hard work, your rom is pretty fast.

Yeh! Yes! This is EXACTLY what I am looking for.
BTW, can I give you some input on this for your next master piece?
1) Remove HTC Home. I have a very good reason for suggesting this. You see, I have just discovered that you can have a superfast diamond interface by using SPB Mobile Shell with the diamond interface. It is just absolutely awesome interface. It's superfast, it's finger friendly, and it is the only today plugin one would ever need as it covers multi-location time, alarm, calendar, mail alert, missed call alart, phone profile changing, weather, photo dialing, launcher, and everything you find in HTC home. Except this is much more flexbile with no limit on number of program you could launch and three pages of photo dialing. However, since SPB mobile shell is not a freeware, we need to install this by ourselves.
2) Remove getting started. Let's be real. Who still need this?
3) Retain the Large Start menu (I think it is finger friendly) but put in the Large Start Manu in the setting.
4) Replace HTC TouchFLO with FtouchSL trial version.
5) Remove Office Mobile and put it into an addon. I find this software too limiting to be useful. SoftMaker should be used for anyone serious in doing office work on the Athena.
6) Remove all games
7) Remove HTC Album and the Picutres & Video application and make it an add-on. I will not be using both of these, as I find Resco Picture Viewer Pro to be far better.
8) Remove File Explorer again like you did and put in Total Commander.
9) Put in MoBlue
10) Remove Internet Explorer and make it an add-on. I think most of us will use Opera and/or Netfront. For the rest who really want the PIE, they can put it back themselves.
11) Make realVGA an add-on. Like you said in one of the post, if you're a dpi128 person, why put in the 96dpi stuff? For me, I'm now more into just 192 dpi, so realVGA will not be needed at all.
12) Don't put in any registry editor. I'll be using Resco Registry editor which is the best in the market today. It let's me use my thumb to easily navigate around. Since it is not a freeware, we'll purchase and install this on our own. Provide as add-on free registry editor such as PHM registry editor.
13) Remove all software keyboard other than the standard keyboard. The less you have there, the more reliably and quickly will we be able to switch between standard and our own software keyboard.
14) Synchro Time should be built in if nobody have any objection. I think all of us will use this.
15) I'm in favour of building in the SIP change utility, but am aware that some of us never need this as they use the hardware keyboard. So, let's make this an add on.
16) Similarly, I'm in favour of building in wktask, but am aware that some of us use other methods of task switching such as quick menu. So, again, let's make this an add on.
17) Window media is again only used by some, as each of us have our own favourite music and video player. I'm using Coreplayer. So, let's make WMP an add-on.
18) Windows live and windows messenger. Not all of us use this. There are so many far superior options available, such as IM+ and Slick(I think that is the name of the package that MiChY uses. So, let's make this an add-on.
19) Let's put in the auto-rotate after all. I know that I did'tn lilke it slowing down the device. However, many interesting applications such as the bubble level requires this. But let's have an easy way to toggle it off, may be using your ToggleAutoRotate utility program built in.
20) Youtube Player should be built in because I cannot visuallise anybody NOT wanting this.
21) Remove customer feedback and windows update. I don't think anybody use this. Let us know if anyone does.
22) Next come to the splash screen. I love the HTC logo animation personally. I also like the white background HTC logo primary splash. I actually have come to dislike the XP theme because the DOS screen reminds me of desktop start up which is slow. It somehow gives me a feeling that it's going to be a Loooonng wait when I see that XP desktop black splash screen. I also don't feel comfortable teaching potential thief how to soft and hard reset my device;)
23) I'm in favour of putting in radio 1.58 as I'm quite convinced that it gives superior data connection capability. But again, I respect that some may not want this, so let's leave it out for all to install that separately
24) .net 3.5 of course.
Our goal: As light as possible so that it can go as fast as possible on the newest available features (such as newest Contact application) without error, white giving users the maximum flexibility in choosing their own applications.
I think that will be quite Super Ultra Vanilla. What do you think?

irus, is it possible when you make a super ultra vanilla rom, please do not pre-install these two files, i.e., backlight.exe and backlight.exe.0409.mui, because your preinstalled the aforesaid two files all fails to work faithfully. So far I only found that MiChy did not install these two files so as to enable me to install these two files extracted from AP4 into the windows folder. Then, backlight works faithfully and enable me to run many apps. Thank you in advance.

Please download file http://4pda.ru/forum/attach/1805643/ATHE_GSensor.zip
(it was posted by Taxist on Russian forum).
Copy *.exe and *.dll files into Windows directory and import *.reg file.
After that you will have gsensor support. I am using Taxist's rom and can say that it works.

It fix some things regarding battery charge level.
Just copy dll into Windows directory and soft reset.
