Is anyone having connection problems with IMAP on 6.1.I can downlaod fine but it will not send. the only way that I can get this to work is if I delete the settings and then set up the email again. im using the correct setting found on here it will work for a few weeks but then all of a sudden it will stop sending oit the messages. They just store in my outbox when i click send and receive I get a connection error which i already know works fine.

It just stops sending all of a sudden for no reason. maybe its a Gmail prob I think. Any one have this happening as well?

I use Tmobile USA internet plan. the POP3 works fine but I prefer the IMAP for better sync options with my folders.

thanks

Same exact problem over here. I'm gonna call T-mobile this week.

It's happening all the time. I guess it could be that smtp.gmail.com uses a different trusted CA and that this CA isn't trusted on the WM 6.1 ROM? Alcaline, any ideas? (highly unlikely)

I didn't notice until Friday, and I had been sending email as usual for over a month and it was all sitting in my outbox. :D

Hi,

Shure it could be that a certificate is needed.. But if it works sometimes?

It works no times. :D

I can only imagine it never worked, although I didn't notice. I mean, it must be a different cert; but for them to use a CA that isn't trusted by Windows Mobile seems pretty silly. Let me know if you need recon.

[UPDATE]

Alright. Looks like several ports are widely reported as blocked when using certain plans. I assume the plan I have is one of these plans. Others claim that "routing" your email through t-mobiles smtp server (http://www.esato.com/archive/t.php/t-99563,1.html) works. Although, with my plan, I do not have any email addresses attached to my account.

Reportedly smtp.gmail.com uses three ports to route to their smtp server(s): 25, 465 and 587. Tested telnet connections to smtp.gmail.com:25 and smtp.gmail.com:587 worked, smtp.gmail.com:465 failed.

Regardless of my findings, both working ports don't work from my phone; so I attribute this to t-mobile. I'll call them, but expect their answer will be something to the effect of "we block communication over those ports for people without the $15 data plan."

FYI: My service is from work... I swapped my SIM into my S730 from a blackberry. The account has the BES/BIS feature, but no true data plan.

Use m.gmail.com via a web browser to compose emails. :(

I've played with the port setting and still nothing I just deleted my account on my phone and wet it up again it will work for about 1 week then it just stops again. i do have the $20 data plan. I switched back to the damn POP3 for right now. IMAP works great for my desktop.

hopefully the support will be available soon or someone comes up with something.

Thanks,
