just flashed my GENE ..everything works gr88 except...i cant send SMS ..its says phone is not ready wait for 15 seconds .... and also cant access phone settings (settings>>personal>>phone)...same way..says again that wait 15 secs....

one thing more... my SPL changed from olip.....and now i cant flash it to other ROM.... may b need to do tht SPL stuff again...

Did you flash the new spl and IPL?
May be you can't flash other roms except htc's.....

you have to install the olipro(spl, available in this forum) in order to flash the ROM with custom roms.

It seems that this rom doesn´t recognize my phone operator... it keeps "searching" and finds nothing... Anyone can help me clarify this?

Just tried JTAG but didn't help - may be I'm not doing it the right way.

Anyways, things keep on happening due to our stupidity and we keep on suffering...

I would suggest HTC Touch (or any other htc device - because its got the best support forum :D), not sure of price of other devices which will suit your budget, may be Touch Viva ?

Yes Hari, Touch 3G is indeed launched in India a few months ago. This is not true that HTC hasnt launched 3G phones here. Its only some models, like the Touch Diamond which in US and other countries come with 3G but here these were launched without it.

Touch 3G is for around 27-28K, right Mr. Majumder?

Some trick to flash only the ROM, after click it, it will run ROM update utility, don't click anything or close it, go to your temp directory and find the file RUU_signed.nbh.

copy it and cancel the Rom update.

Now extract the RUU_signed.nbh, you will have 5 file, **OS.nb, ext.nb, and 3 files .nb and they are not used for update the ROM, just take 2 file **_OS.nb and ext.nb, and build it tobe RUU_signed.nbh, and...... it will update your ROM ONLY. :D :D

Which ones are just Rom OS's?
I know what happens when u copy a SPL after its patched, what happens if you copy a ONBL and GSM? Does it also bugger the phone?

1st link: has a complete rom. if you flash it, most probaly you'll have a bricked phone.
2nd link: same as 1st
3rd link: appears to be a safer link (i didn't tested this rom, take care).

Don't flash a rom with ipl, spl or gsm, most certainly it will brick your phone or make it don't work well.

To see how to know if a rom is a complete set see this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506467).

btw, custom roms are more safer to flash. think twice before flash a official rom.

I advice you not to flash the official rom on GENE, if you have already Hard SPL'd your gene, as it will try to update the spl as well, which can be dangerous and brick your gene.

If you are look for 6.0 rom just because of battery backup, Then I will suggest you to flash any one of Sumit's ( Krazy_about_technology's) 6.5 ROM's. As 6.5 give you very best battery backup.

Hi my phone prob cid locked as on the tricolor screen it shows spl as 1.28000 and all rom updates terminate at 2 % I tried both hard spl methods oilpro etc but now they do not work ... I have flashed many times before but now I am stuck ... ph out of warranty...if to expensive to fix will buy blackberry...one more thing in mtty prog when i run set 32 1 i get g_sec..something of card as FF and I think that it should be 0 . any help ?
