What You Need!!!

Oxios Hibernate -- http://www.oxios.com/memory/
S2P -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377627
VJVolubilis -- http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJVolubilis
SPB Phone suite (Shareware: this is use for the phone profile)
Contact Photo--124x124 (PNG format with alpha channel)
Album Cover--NO NEED!

Very Important !!Before Install, Pls Backup your Device First!!

Install:

Rename the XMT to "XIAMultiTheme" and copy to Main Memory "Program Files"
Install the above application and Manila-Black0.3.cab
configurate your SPB phone suite profile (i use the first 3 profile)
open "Program Files\XIAMultiTheme\XIAMultiThemeConfiguration.exe"
a) Theme Tag -- select- Manila-Task, click Apply this theme for default
b) Today Tag -- Select Manila-Black at XIAMultiTheme4 and click Apply these themes
c) Start Menu Tag -- click "Refresh Start Menu XMT Links"
d) Install Tag -- click "Install Today Plugin"
Setting\Personal\Today\Items--ONLY SELECT "XIAMultiTheme4"

Contact install
Contact photo---Manila-Black\contactpic replace the inside photo by your photo, but keep the file at 1.png 2.png.....

cool i dont really care the animation part. now for the messaging and email part you should try to make it look like this. it is just an example i am still working on the layout.

Amazing work, can't wait to try this out. Have you figured out how to do animations in XIAMultiTheme? It would be really nice to have transitions.

Also have you asked A_C about S2P functionality? He has S2U2 setup so you have Play functions outside of S2P app.

One more question, your previous Manila theme required a few other things to make it work. Will this be just one package?

This is easy to install using the files attached, been playing with it for about 45 minutes now.

As expected it is still slow compared to the actual HTC Touch Diamond. No matter what is done to it you wont be able to get anything much better.

ALL I CAN SAY IS NICE TRY AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Without Developers like you we would have basic devices !

You change the weather location by modding the weather.mscr script. You edit the "Hong Kong, China" in the skin.xml file.

I have downloaded all the software required to make it work and followed the poor instructions and it doesnt work.

Worked fine except for some over-sized fonts, and the weather location. I think I too will wait for the cab though...assuming some things might get fixed for its release.

1.Contact photo
size: 124 x 124 Format PNG (naming--> 0.png , 1.png, 2.png---->4.png) max 5 contact at this moment

2.Album Cover
size: 146 x 146 Format Jpg (naming--> must be "cover.jpg", put it into your album folder, remember 1 album, 1 folder, 1 cover jpg)

3.Application icon
size: 40 x 40 Format PNG (naming--> 1.png, 2.png----->9.png) max 9 app
(cause the XIAMultiTheme have some problem on the resize image function at this moment (at least for me), so you need more work on the image)

Install!!!)
before this step, Please Backup First!!

1.install above applications (must in Main Memory, if not, you may need to edit the xml file of the theme)
2.put the folder "XIAMultiTheme" into the Program Files (Main Memory)
3.put the fonts file to "Windows\Fonts"
4.open the XIAMultiThemeConfiguration.exe --Theme--at the "Today row" choose "Manila-Black" and then click the "Apply these themes",
then go the Today Tag and click the "Install Today Plugin"
5.copy your Contact photo to "Program Files\XIAMultiTheme\themes\Manila-Black\contactpic" and replace the ori one, if you want!
6.open the contact.txt (in the folder-->Manila-Black\mscr), edit your contact information
your contact photo 0.png is Contact0, 1.png is Contact1.........
and the format must be (Contact0/name/phone no) don't delete the first "Contact number" and "/"
7.for the Programs page, i put all the .lnk file in "Manila-Black\programs" folder, just edit the link file and if you want to change to app icon
but please keep all the file name is same as i attach (eg. 1.lnk, 2.lnk,.....)
8.go to Settings\Personal\Today ---> set your today theme "Manila-black", and then the today plugins, only tick XIAMultiTheme
(if you in the step 4 choose the difference Today row, in the today plugins you need to choose the difference tag)
Now you can see the theme at the Your Screen!!!
9.go to the "mscr" folder, and open the file-->(install topbar.mscr, BlueStatus.mscr, DataStatus.mscr, PhoneStatus.mscr)
for the BlueStatus, DataStatus and Phone Status, it may cause your bluetooth, data connection and phone function on or off, but now the Communications Tag work, go to this tag and enable or disable the connection.

Thanks so much. It's very very nice! I've got it all installed and configured weather. The only problem is the background. Still I can't seem to get it working:

1. with the black diamond background.
2. Contacts picture doesn't show. I did make it .PNG as instructions.
3. Programs icon has some weird colors

Other than that, this is a killer theme! I totally love it!

1.Animations
i think that is a limitation of the software (at lease on this moment)
( To Stefano , so many people want the animation support, are you hear that!!!!!!.....Hehe:D, Man. you done a good work, keep going and look forward your new version release)
2.Error on loading
cause the software load 5 today plugins, pls check the XIAMultiThemeConfig which Today row you choose (eg. today row, todayplugin pls choose XIAMultiTheme, if today row 2, pls choose XIAMultiTheme 1, today row 3-XIAMultiTheme 2.....) that's the problem i think. :p
3.Open mscr file
when you run the mscr, that nothing happen, it just only write some registry to your device (pls check "HKCU\Software\Manila") and it contain "Appointment", "Contact", "Messages", "Status", "Topbar" and "Weather"
4.Picture size
if your theme can't resize the picture (me too on some case), you only can wait......., i still wait Stefano to fix this bug too.
5.Weather Location
Sorry, this is my mistake:p, pls edit the skin.xml file
6.Today Theme Background
Pls check do you have the Manila-Black.tsk file? that is include in the zip file, If Yes, go to the Setting\Personal\Today and choose the today theme with this! If you can't find it:confused:, maybe i upload the tsk file here
7.Speed
maybe i have too many function on this theme, do you think i make a lite version with fewer tags (5Tags)?

Just installed this on my Touch CDMA from Alltel. I took it back off and stuck with my original setup, but I have to tell you , I'm really looking forward to a newer release when the kinks are worked out. Theres still alot of glitches, and I would really, love to see more animations, but for the first release , the graphics are amazing. I hope you dont give up on this.

Message envelope always shows 0 message 0 mail.. but the message indicator on the bottom tool bar is correct..is it suppose to work?

great skin, loving it. A 5-panel one would work just fine, though, if you cut out contacts, settings and comm-manager. Or at the very least, could someone tell me how to edit the xml to move the messages tab so it is visible from home?It is a shame to have to tap so many times to get to my text messages.

i use the radiooff.exe to toggle the network, maybe that not work for you
you can try to edit the mscr file, change to RunWait line to
RunWait("\Program Files\vijay555\VJVolubilis\VJVolubilis.exe","-radiotoggle")

My phone gets frozen when i softreset with the plugin activated. I can see the xiamultitheme front clock as normal but everything is frozen. Sometimes one of ten softresets lets my phone to work...

same problem...what did you edit to fix it?............

Open the skin.xml in notepad or similar and search for messages.

I changed the Hkey's which pointed to "other email" to point to

key="HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\State\Messages\TotalEmail \Unread\Count"

i think you have too many selections in your start=>settings=>today=>items

select only Xiamultitheme and unselect the rest and try again.

I'm in agreement with getting the Email changed to the first NaviBar. Switch that with the Comm and post the skin.xml. I tried to modify it and the email goes flaky on me.

Love the skin though....If I could figure out the contact images and get the email on the first page, that'll be it for this version.

hm.... i have some reason to put the message tag at 2nd page.....
the truth is i have problem about the mortscript to get the total message count. Now when you click some navigation button at page 1, that load the script to check the message. i try many way but that is the great for me (at this moment):p

First time poster, I've tried my themes and this by far is the best theme my kraiser has ever seen. I can't wait for the final release. I have a couple questions. My alarm clock status shows "null" and would it be possible if someone can code the skin.xml to use my weatherpanel plugin? Thanks and keep up the great work!:)

Try to update XiaMultiTheme Engine from www.xiaprojects.com website
give a try to XMT->binaries->"Snapshots"

If the PDA continue to froze may be a low memory issue.

are you edit the xml file?
if not, pls check the today row (in XIA config) and today plugin setting(Setting\Personal\Today), is that match?
Cause the XIA can create 5 difference theme/plugins at the same time, so it must match the both setting

for the alarm and comm tag issue, it seem you miss the registry, pls run the mscr file first (see the installation guide). and the setting page ???? it's strange!!!! i will check the xml file later

hm.... i have some reason to put the message tag at 2nd page.....
the truth is i have problem about the mortscript to get the total message count. Now when you click some navigation button at page 1, that load the script to check the message. i try many way but that is the great for me (at this moment):p

Can you set up the script so that it continues to check for message count at every x(sec,min,etc) time?

I noticed several times today that my dialpad was open after getting my phone out of my case. Would it be possible to make the selection to bring up the dial pad tap and hold instead of just tap?

ok i changed the tap to bring up cprog.exe to tap and hold. after i done this, for some reason, no matter where i tapped on the screen it would bring up the clock and alarm page. But tap and hold would bring up the dialpad. I ended up deleting all references to the <OnClick File="link\clock-alarm.lnk".

Now tap and holding on the missed call will bring up the dial pad with this change <OnClick File="\Windows\cprog.lnk" event="1"

I then changed <OnClick File="\Windows\cprog.lnk" event="1" to <OnClick File="\Windows\callhistory.exe" event="1" so that it brings up the missed calls instead of my dialpad.

all editing done in skin.xml

i believe you can modify any references of format="hh:mm" or "H:mm" in the skin.xml to format ="h:mm"

haven't tried it myself yet though.

eg. i use a chinese font, you need to check which font use fot Russian at your system, my font file name is - msjh.ttf, font name is - Microsoft JhengHei, so my string is

Where does the wifi toggler come from?
When running an exe and playing a wav, I think it is better to have two onclicks in XMT. The reason? Well an onclick pointing to an exe in XMT can have a *relative* path to the exe (eg the wifi toggler) meaning you do not have to hard-code the XMT path in the mscr.
So I would say use this code:

<Registry x="198" y="10" text="0" color="RGB(0,0,0)" key="HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Hardware\Wifi" >

<OnClick File="tools\Wifi.exe"/>
<OnClick File="scripts\beep.mscr"/>

I am pestering Stephano to add an internal way to play sounds so you do not even need a beep.mscr.

Actually i don't want people to edit the xml, cause this very long, so i prefer write a code in mscr, they can only edit the mscr file ;)

I have changed skin.xml from Hong Kong to Tunbridge Wells, United Kingdom but it still shows just the cloud like it did for Hong Kong How do I change it and get it to download the weather where I want it ????

i dont have any bluetooth device so....i haven't use that.
but i think you still need the bluestatus.mscr file, cause that regwrite scritp to make the bluetooth button, show on and off.
The only thing you need the mscr for is to play the wav, you do not need to write the dword in the reg to make the icon change.
remove the line like
RegWriteDword("HKCU", "Software\Manila\Status\", "BlueTooth", "2")
and change your xml to like:
<Registry x="192" y="133" color="RGB(255,255,255)" key="HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Hardware\Bluetooth"

Then you need to rename your pngs in the network folder
Rename 0.png to 8.png
Rename 1.png to 9.png
Rename 2.png to 11.png

But using your code as it stands (or even my amended one) the icon would disappear when you used a hands free as that is code 25, and it has no 25.png (or 2.png and 5.png)

Basically, if you use BT for handsfree (And you are already paired with say your car), then you just need to turn BT on and it will go from state 8 (off) to state 9 (on, no connection). Then when the it finishes pairing with the handsfree it goes to state 25 automatically. I guess state 11 (discovery) is so that it will pop up a menu any time it finds a BT device?(like wifi)

I will test with your script and see what happens.

Oh, and orientation detection is working in the latest build! Event 33 is landscape mode and 34 is portrait mode - works great when I slide the keyboard out on my Kaiser!

I managed to get my phone into state 11. It is indeed the discoverable mode.
Not sure how much use this is unless you often use BT to transfer files I suppose. For BT handsfree I think it is useless in day to day usage.
I will add an icon for 11 to my theme I think, but will stick with my normal on/off toggle.

I worked out my weather issue and changed the code in the mscr file but I have appointments today and although in thumbcal they show as 7:30pm tonight when i click on the diamond phone to show appointments it says its 12:30 to 13:30 today why the time showing different from thumbcal ?

Apart from the issue with the appointments the only thing I can see that it could do with is an icon to lock the device lock like you could have on the windows mobile today screen.

Another thing would be to have more that one appointment displayed.

Other than that its pretty darn impressive.

I had to upgrade to the newest mort for some items to work properly.

Message envelope always shows 0 message 0 mail.. but the message indicator on the bottom tool bar is correct..is it suppose to work?

PLEASE tell what you edited to get this to work. I am having the same error and it is very annoying... (only showing text message count).

If manila is not showing up in the list of themes where you have "Today row", "Today row 2" etc then what is probably happening is that XIAMultitheme is not in the right folder.

The themes folder inside XMT needs to be \Program Files\XIAMultitheme\themes, I guess you have copied the wrong folder from the zip so your themes dir is something like \Program Files\manila theme\XIAMultitheme\themes - the XIAMultiTheme executables would still run in that case but it would find no themes at the expected location and so the lists would be empty.

XMT themes use png images typically, so will normally need different versions for qVGA and VGA. It could be done with any theme by resizing all the images to 200% then opening the skin.xml file and doubling all x="" and y="" values, though the image quality obviously wouldn't be as good.

Hello there...

The Skin looks great and I want to give a try. I installed all on a German Windows Mobile 6.1 Custom ROM - checked the Installfile and do this point for point. Finally i can choose the Plugin on the today plugins, go back to the dekstop and nothing happened...

No plugin there. The skin.xml is edited -> program files to Programme...

Any Idea?

Did you click "Apply these themes" after chosing Manilla in the drop down box?

The new manual is starting to become useful, I have attached a current copy in case it is any use. I have updated it with screenshots that should show the directory structure as it needs to be and shows setup procedure, which should hopefully solve most of the questions in this thread so far.

[EDIT: Info in red is questions from me to stef and may well be incorrect. Also the examples have not yet been tested so don't rely 100% on them]

I have an idea/suggestion for the media player.

Could it be possible to use a different player, controllable by MortScript (such as MortPlayer), and then use the MortScript to download the Album Art to download and reformat the album art to the correct dimensions, then display it?

You need to edit the weather.mscr for your location

# your location (see http://developer.yahoo.com/weather/ on finding your location)

You can also determine F or C in the weather.mscr

# desired units for temp, f or c
units="f"

Editing the skin.xml is only changing what is indicated as your location on the weather page, it has no affect on the actual weather data you get.

Yes there is, the guy is just being a jerk.
Find a registry editor and delete all the strings associated or reinstall the program and unload all the today screen options. Hope that helps.

Yeah, first diable the today plugin. Then uninstall what you can uninstall.
Delete Folder if still exists.
Clean out the registry with SKtools.

Yeah, I figured as much, I was just playing stupid and I wasn't about to reset my phone over this. I'll try to clean the reg and see if I can delete all the traces of this. Just for the record I did unload all the today screen options before I tried to uninstall but it still wasn't clean.
I was just looking for a easy way to remove this and more then that pointing out that the uninstall does not remove this cleanly.

first i downloaded the file and some of the files wont let me extract them. says they are encrypted and some are not able to be copied...?? Then do i place them in my 6800s folders? the program seems to run under windows?

To unload today dll you need to go to the Today Configuration Applet 2 times and tap OK becase on certain Windows Mobile the first time it will not unload dll from memory.
After you had this 2 times you can manually delete all files.

Tip:
- run the uninstaller exe
- reset your pda
- manually remove files.

so i got it "working" but setting up the links and shortcuts i couldnt figure out. hopefully maybe someone can set up a configurator like the one for the HTC Home?

I havent noticed many just the email and a few depends on how you are using your device:
Basic- programs and phone- GOOD:)

Medium-programs and phone and bluetooth:o

Heavy-programs and phone and bluetooth, internet, wifi:confused:needs a little tweaking.

Like I posted have to use Clasic Black for Today topbar..the topbar in the program and bottombar are for the (Main, programs and icons ..etc)

Im using Schapps ROM 4.3 because all the newer Roms arent working well or have alot of bugs! This ROM lets me use alot of programs without the slow down.

you can add a link to another app such as weather watcher (free) see pic weather 1 tap and hold link.

weather 2 and 3 are examples of extended weather information.

After using this for a couple of days, I have a few suggestions (in order of importance).

1. Less memory usage (this theme slows down my Sprint HTC Touch considerably).
2. The ability to move the tabs. (I would love to switch the location of the music tab and the messages tab so that I could see the amount of messages I have more easily).
3. Improvements to the Music tab (album art resized automatically, play/pause button.)
4. I have been able to customize the theme quite easily, but maybe a settings option could be made for easier customization to those who are not familiar with XML or mortscript.
5. Better contacts integration.
6. The ability to see the text message/email message in the Message tab. (showing the most recent message would be the easiest, I am guessing).

Bugs:
1. Sometimes when switching tabs, a white version of the tab is shown after the switch to another tab has been completed. I fixed this by deleting the -pressed.png versions with the original .png files. Update: This did not fix the problem, there is still a bug with switching tabs
2. (I'm not sure if this is a bug). It can be slow at times, and uses a lot of memory.
3. The mail envelope does not show the email number (fix is in this thread).
4. After marking messages as read, the green orb goes away, but the number inside the orb remains.
5. On/Off switch for cellular radio is not being displayed.

Those are some bugs/suggestions. Excellent theme, keep up the good work! Just to say how good it is, I tested out a great SPB Mobile Shell Diamond theme, and switched back to this one. :)

Hi im basicly a newbie here,
i followed the instructions on my touch phone install it and its fanstic,
but by the mill calls and the weather it says NULL , and i have the HTC Touch phone from sprint, and where is the font for my phone i tried looking through
the files and i could not find a font file. and one more thing i cannot get the mscr working please help me i love this :)

:) just few small things:

when i replaced a program icon with inside trasparent background...i displayed behind another icon (add_program)
Would that be possible not to display this icon if an icon already exists?
(i made a screenshot ... is the first excel icon)

And even for me many rows that cover sms...i solved so...i changed the "manila-black.tsk" file.
is attached… so you can see...

i'll test it yet...but i'll wait for the new release!:D
