[June 4] RELEASE Mobile Seven for ThrottleLauncher!

So, my second skin for ThrottleLauncher!

This time based on Windows Mobile 7, thus the name.
Please enjoy, and read the instruction before asking question, so make the risk of being called a n00b as small possible ;]

How to install:

(1) Install ThrottleLauncher 0.9.1 and the default tf3d theme.
(http://www.throttlelauncher.com)

1. Copy both files in the zip to your storage card.

2. Go to your ppc's explorer and install "Mobile Seven by PdG.cab".
The cab installs a the skin and a windows mobile theme to your ppc.
!!! (THIS MUST BE INSTALLED TO YOUR DEVICE) !!!

2.1 Open up the picture file Windows Seven.bmp while still in explorer
and press Menu>Set as Today Background. Set to 0% and press ok.

3 Go to Start>Setting>Today, select ClassicBlack and press ok.

3.1 Go to the tab "Items" and deselect everything (ALSO THROTTLETODAY).
Something like Batterystatus can still be run but bus be placed under ThrottleToday

4 On your PPC go to: Start>Programs>ThrottleConfig and select Minimal Flow
from the drop-down box.

4.1 Press "reload plugin" and click exit.

5 ENJOY!

bro i just look @ your work since the minimal dialer to see how good you make apps look.this maybe the wrong place but my phone is almost perfect.i'd just like to throw out there for you to please skin the calculator name it minimal something lol:Dthe moguls calculator is so ugly i just use phatpad and add shit up by stylus and paper lol. You could open the config.xml and search for hometown or amsterdam and change the amsterdam to your town.

Did you try to open the config throug the settings page or through throttleconfig?

After chaging you have to reload the theme.

Ok! Now I have the city changed.
I have tried to enter from both ways. I had this same problem with Touchf3d, and it solved a new config.xml that they posted. I think they were some troubles with the today plugins, so instead of having a list of plugins I had a field to write in the plugin.

Hey Paul, the Windows Seven.bmp that you provided is rather...well, there are no gradients, but rather horizontal lines. This is also the case with the sphere in the bottom-middle.

Do you have one thats possibly a true gradient? Maybe this was designed for VGA devices? Also, is it possible to change the sensitivity for this plug in?
Again, these are the best graphics I've seen, and thanks so much for your efforts.

I tested, and loved it. A little lag, but nothing major. I think I could play around with it to speed it up.

Altough I tested and liked the home srceen the program taps where a bit too cluttered for my taste. if you could move the side controls and place them in there own indevidual slot I would keep it. But You have a really good color sceme and loving how clean the main screen is.

Maybe some one in the forum can help my out. I had an idea to keep clean version of htc home screen (like Death rom home screen) but give it a bit of a twist. You know make it look stock but not really. For example you wound still have the main icons ( clock, favorite contacts, weather, programs, music, and profiles) but add the feature to panel the time screen, favorites screen, programs screen left and right. here is what I was thinking

1. (the clock) panel left on time screen reveals a small callender (themed like spb2.1). panel right on time screen and it reveals a themed alarm clock feature.

2. (Favorites) activating the favorites icon reveals your favorites pictures. but instead of two rows it would be one row. Give it the same type of interface like an apple computer menu. The idea is to see three contacts but the one in the center zooms to the front. Then simply panel left and right till you locate the desired contact. Clicking the picture dials number and clicking and holding opens the contact.

3. (weather) reveals a short animation of current weather. Panel left and you get the default for weekly weather nothing fansy (or you could make them slide into the screen bump into each other and arrange them selves quickly.

4 (programs) activating programs icon slides icons into program screen but this can be customized by like the favorites option (show three icons the one in the middle zooms etc etc)

5. Music keep it default but add the option to choose your default player.

6 profile tab manipulated as a quick link to open command manager. Having the profile tab is pointless since you can change profiles from the top bar.


Anyone developers who are interested in starting something like this let me know. I dont know anything about codes but I cant do resource work like finding the right icons or color scemes.. anything that I can do pretty much. I cant post a thread for some reason. Can someone please help start a thread for me? Please send me a private messege if your serious

paul im using wisbar advance 3 with its customizable themes. i Selected windows mobile 7 theme, then to taskbar, and selected background and picked vertical gradient and selected the start and end colors :). Just learned how to use the custom feature and its great

btw do you think its possible to make the background of the clock portion semi transparent?? to fit with all backgrounds. Ill try it later just wondering if i'd be wasting time

yea i love how fast this one is to use, when it first loads up just click on both tabs and after they load its crazy functional, i just have to figure how to customize the programs in the programs tab. I think it uses less ram with the less tabs too, cause before i had alot of min not unloading.

Yes, it's possible ;). Just take the png that must be located inside the skins folders and modify it (use GIMP or similar) to add transparency, then override.

yes, wisbar is the greatest app. one thing i did notice though is you have to remove dcinobar from startup or period or else it slows down wisbar. reason: there is an option in wisbar to hide the softkeys and taskbar. i chose that instead and got rid of dcinobar now all runs smooth

Frist.... wellcome to xda-developers. I'm sorry to answer your first post negatively... This is a skin for a PPC (theorically all WM5/WM6 PPC) application called ThrottleLauncher. See my signature for more info ;). It's not an OS update, and you'll not lost all your data, but it's still Beta so use it at your own risk ;).

I was able to change my location by copying config.xml in the \Program Files\ThrottleLauncher\Setups\Mobile Seven folder to my PC, opening it with Wordpad, making the change, saving the file and then overwriting the original back in the same folder. Soft reset my phone and all worked for me.

It seems there is a little trouble in the config.xml ...

The var name "hometown" is set two times ... it seems it prevent ThrottleConfig to define the vars ...

I just delete the line of the second occurrence of "hometown" and ThrottleConfig then was able to define the vars ...

But ... I failed to change the time format (12/24hours) with the ThrottleConfig ...
It was always in 12h format ... So I just edit the config.xml


By the way, your themes (minimal and seven) are really great !
I really love them, thanks to share all of this

In the xml file "Apps.xml", you can change the sixth characteristic (title="NAME") by modifying the name with leading characters (I use 2 digit numbers), as this is the field that the Programs are sorted by. The first 15 numbered applications show on the first screen that comes up, then the next 20 as you scroll to the right, and so on in sets of 20 icons.

Yes there is a way but that would require a lot of recoding in the skin.xml

The problem that I'm experiencing is that when I changed the city name to London the bottom part of the name does not appear correctly: it looks rather truncated from the bottom :confused:

My only problem with the skin is that the clock second hand doesn't move? On running ThrottleLauncher the clock updates to the correct time, the second hand ticks one second and then stops?
(It also did this with the Iphone skin so maybe it is a problem with throttlelauncher itself??)
Still it's a cool program, when the bugs are ironed out I'll definately get a copy..

Man this is great! good emulation, but it is for VGA screens? cause I had a QVGA does it works on a wizard, on an Universal this is VGA?

I cant foun this minimal flow tab? where it is?my resolution is qvga does the VGA enable is correct in true or i need to change it to false?

I had the same issue with the city name when I change it the name its cutedfor the clock digital? maybe the resolution its the cause... i will change it andpost a replay, its awsome I wishit could shows the weather but with accuweather, as the name, its more accurate than google's weather.

HEY TATISSE just click on the digital clock, then closed and the display going to his normally, but it changes sometimes. the height dont change it, or maybe Something relationed with the name, I put Guadalajara and it has the letter "j" down level, i will put it on caps...

Yes it is the issue put your city in Caps, not minus with downlevel letters.

TRY this:

oh...I´m working at an extended version at the moment as well. Didn´t get the authors permission yet cause he is not replying to my messages...But I would not make any money with the theme and note, that the original theme was by Paul de Groot.

@ blazingwolf: Maybe you can send me a PM what improvements you are working on, so I don´t do the same things a second time.
My idea was to extremly enhance the whole thing, about the same functionality like TF3d for TL, such as weather, CommManager, Internet / Favorites, "Contacts" goes directly to a predefined app (like iContact, which I would like to skin as well).

Maybe some of you have still other ideas, please post it here and lets hope that the original author gives us permission to continue his great work.

I think your ideas could take this to the ultimate WM6 skin. SPB Mobile Shell sort of set the standard for what quick access and glitz should be, but I'm all ears. I think Weather, and as many State items with QuickLinks as possible are essential.

It works fine for me but for some reason the bottom bar is not being shown, instead I get the defualt WM6 bar on the bottom. Any ideas?

Ensure you've checked the hide button bar option on the throttleconfig app. Then reload the plugin ;).

Yes, I did many times and I still get that issue, which is why I find it odd, and frustrating a little. BTW my device is a Samsung SCH-i760 which a standard qvga device with a slide out kb.

Yes but this is designed to be on a QVGA device so the images won't be very crisp.

Try dcinobar or similar program to see if this helps. If it does let APBilbo know so that he can work on it.

ive installed the windows 7 theme and followed the instructions, however when i go to the config, the only theme that shows up is touchflo3d?? any advice is appreciated
