View Full Version : Quake on Touch Dual

I've been trying to play quake in the dual as good as it played it in my old S110, the dual has less available ram and mhz and also a not so good video card (even with the s600 driver)...
But it works, I use the slide up/down keys as fire/jump (fire also changes to fullscreen), the green key to change weapon and the red key to change back to portrait mode (very usefull to exit, hehehe).
But its not as smooth as the S100, it may need more tweaking that I dont know how to perform, so here is my cry for help, can it be better?
This is the config I use in my autoexec.cfg

Also, in the same subject, the Quake 3 arena also works in the touch (never got it running in the S110 before, so this was a nice surprise) but only at 2FPS... Any way this can be better too?

AHHH! Quake became REAL 3D in my touch dual!!!

the only way i can explain that is that you must have the Qualcomm 3d driver on your device :O :O :P

I just found a version 0.70 from some guy that was optmized for the magician:

Its slitly faster and the colors are much darker (thats problably a gamma option)
Also, these options speed things up a bit, in the autoexec.cfg:
r_maxparticles "1" //maximum onscreen explosion particles
d_mipcap "1" //sets a maximum quality for all textures, close or far (0=high, 4=low quality)
set d_mipscale "3" //maximum scaled quality of distant textures (0=high, 4=low quality)
precache "1" //loads sounds before map starts to eliminate ingame pauses
r_maxsurfs "400" //limits rendered surfaces
r_maxedges "1600" //limits max edges rendered, maxsurfs*4=maxedges

I get an error:
W_LoadWadfile: Couldn't load gfx.wad
Why do i get that? Would love to play it

either is on a diferent location than /storage card/quake or you wad isnt good, get the original wad.

On "normal" quale 1 I use these on the autoexec.cfg:

Hey twolf, any suggestion on how to decrease the sensitivity while looking around with the Stylus? It's too fast for me! :D
P.S.:
I'm using the mentioned ROM in my signature! ;)

I manually change it on the options menu, but I think it can be automatic by doing something as simple as to just add this on the autoexec.cfg:
sensitivity "40"
You can run it with all the buttons (sound + -/camera/red) in your rom v2?
Thats great, did you do anything extra or it just ran that way?
Ill try with the latest v2. I think I only had the realy version.

Nop, the clean black v2 wwe non-office 2G doesnt read those butons, only v1.

problably, you just need to "bind" the keys, as you can see in the .cfg example.
I just dont use it like that because its not as handy in fullscreen as with the keboard closed.
