I found this before but cannot find it now. How do you, on the q/q9/etc, change the directory that files transferred over bt go to?

You can try using a free application called MoBlue instead of hacking the registry.

It seems with wm6.1, this changes both the brose dir and the obex file transfer dir.
In other words, it seems there's no way to set the browse dir to \ and default obex file transfer dir to \storage card
Also, as you can see from that page, moblue is certainly not free.

type smartphone-freeware in google and explore that resource for this app
But now I'm reading that there are some bugs with the moto q, unfortunately
Anyway you can investigate it for an ideas.

i have a q9c, not a q. different os, different everything.
it seems with wm 6.1 the registry modification is the same as changing the default root for browse, so you have to choose one or the other:(

Didn't work Moto (Verizon) Q9m....Newest software upgrade from Motorola allows selected bluetooth transfer location Q9m. If this program could be made to work...would be great...home screen shortcut.

It did not work for my T-Mobile Wing. I saw where someone said it worked with wm6.1. What website do you go to get it?
