I was using my X01ht for 1 1/2 years and was quiet happy with its performance.
I now received a Shift and tried to install the Open Softbank connection as described here.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288136

Sad to say, it didnt work. Running the WIFIWAKE.EXE gave me a Japanese error message, saying that a dependend file was missing. I tried to manually install all files within the cab and to create the Reg entry myself, but still no luck.

however, when I started the device for the first time, it asked me if my connection is Softbank and it sort of worked.

How can I reset the connection settings to default, so it will just show me this pop-up again?

Alternatively, how can I install the open.softbank connection on a shift?

Hi,

The easy setup on the shift does work but it's not for the Flat plan so be very careful my 5 mins of use cost me 980JPY ;-(

I just wish I could use it normally with no messing about ..

Regards

Rob

I was worried about that. is there any limitation to the WM used in
the shift, or does it have to do with CID mismatch ?

I'm pretty sure it's not the CID as I have used a XDA Exec with no problems but it's annoying that softbank don't have a proper flat plan just like E-Mobile

Actually, I have a Softbank flat plan. For me its good enough. I use about 2 million packages
a month which equals about 160 000 yen. But luckily, i pay only 9800 on my flat.

But as mentioned, I cannot activate this flat on my shift. Quiet upsetting, really.
Seeing that the shift is the perfect device for such a flatrate. But to be honest, I think
my package rate would double. ;)

Ok I tried last night to get the Open.softbank AP to work .. no luck it doesn't throw up the error that you got but doesn't populate the password field in the connection link..

I tried to use the mtty util to access the CID but it doesn't want to connect to the PDA side of the Shift

You need to use the vista version of mtty, attached here.
