Hey guys, this is not the correct forum (XDA) for religious/spiritual point of views and/or preference. Im going to move this to the off topic portion since its not directly related to cell phones, etc.

@mariner_heart: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=645168)
I don't believe DrForIslam was trying to missionary his religion on to anyone else, so it's not religious per se. It's more, "if you're French, come say Bonjour", which is probably ok.
However, can all humans (and more evolved life forms, carbon based or otherwise), please be cautious not to "attract" unwanted responses - this forum is not partisan regarding religion, other than when it comes to the true question, Windows Mobile or iPhone. So please keep off-topic topics in the off-topic areas, and be cautious about going against the spirit of the board.
Mods and Admins reserve the right to intervene and delete if we think it is for the good of the board. No specific offence intended to anyone's religions or questionable parentage.

I'll inform the mods to discuss.
Personally, I don't see that this thread is much less worthy then other Offtopic posts - "Go Boston Celtics!!!", "Are you playing Halo 3 ?? comeon and let us play together" and "Post a Joke Folks".
So long as people have a rational reaction to a rational post (which I paraphrase as "Come along and say hi if you are similar to me"), forum members should be able to show a mature attitude and not turn this into a flame war.
Anyone looking for a fight should walk away and troll the "My Girlfriends' Blackberry Curve" thread. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=378472)

Salam All,
My name is Farhan Ali, born in Saudi Arabia and currently living in Toronto.
As far as my phone goes, well I am using the tytn2 and desperately waiting the HTC Touch Pro to come out. ;-)
Now as for the religion, why are discussions on religion (any religion and just Islam) a big NO NO??? I think we’re all adults here (well most of us);-) and we need to think out side the box. This discussion is no different then any other off topic post on here.
Now with that said Ladies and Gentlemen lets keep this clean and lets get to know each other.
Cheers
Farhan

Salam, Muslim from the UK here..
I think its quite alright to have a thread like this. I mean we're just saying hello to fellow brothers, AND the topic is in an offtopic section of the forum.
For those on this forum that are even offended by the word Muslim should just plain sod off.

original topic of this thread was to allow other Muslims to come and greet each other. This forum is NOT THE PLACE for discussing religious differences. Please don't hijack or take the thread off topic or else i'm pretty sure a mod will close it. So don't raise your fingers on other people's belief's; stick to the main topic. If you can't than don't reply, its that simple.
p.s. looks like lukybandit beat me to it :) but nonetheless same point.
I am a Muslim but i don't think Xda is the spot to tell the christians that they are wrong or for the christians to tell muslims that we are wrong; there are other places on the net where these things can be and should be discussed.
With that said please return to topic of thread and stop going off topic.

assalamu aleykum brothers,so nice to see you in numbers...and such faces:D
the main thing about islam is flexibility (taking care of you and your abilities, because you don't have to do what you are incapable of or you have difficulties with) and about peace....as some could have noticed from our greeting
and by the way I'm faruk (farouq),18,from bosnia, student (or something like that...because i'm 4th grade of gymnasium, and that is like 1. or 2. year at the american collages)

but the thread name tells the point...."just come and say"...
@DrForIslam please be less (i don't want to say offensive because you're not) expanding...some who don't know a thing about Islam could misunderstand...so please go the easy and the patient way please...

hey salam mates (regardless your belief)
at the beginning I thought there is no need for this thread, but then I remembered the endless threads started on this great forum asking questions like "what is the best ROM for X device?" "what is the fastest ROM?" "pls help, how do I flash my X PDA?"...
IMHO, it's quite harmless to make a special thread for our greetings instead of reading them scattered everywhere through development threads :p

Ok great. Shalome malkone....or something like that. I can not spell anything in your language but that is supposed to mean hello to you all. I really get screwed up when you talk about different sublanguages but I always love to learn more about other languages and cultures. :) Anyway I had a question that may seem pretty stupid.
I noticed the spelling of Muslim and Moslim... Is Moslim the plural of Muslim just like it sounds or does it mean something else?

Both spellings are equivalent. Both are singular !
Sahlome isn't in Arabic, I think it's Hebrew ! In Arabic, we (and even non-arab muslims) say : Assalamu Alaykom

The ordinary word in English is "Muslim", pronounced /'mʊs.lɪm/ or /'mʌz.ləm/. The word is pronounced /'mʊslɪm/ in Arabic. It is sometimes spelled "Moslem", which some regard as offensive
and it is the same info according to Oxford dictionary ;)

Ahmadiyya religion was founded in 1889 by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (c. 1839-1908) in Punjab, India. Ahmad claimed to be the appearance of the promised Messiah (or, according to some sources, the manifestation of the Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) as well as an incarnation of Jesus and the Hindu god Krishna).
One of their teaching that Ahmad was a prophet , later, the Ahmadiya group split into two groups:
Qadiani, who recognize Ahmad as a prophet; and
Lahore, who regard Ahamad only as a reformer of Islam.
it is you who has chosen what you believe not I. if you would like to discuss this further then we can do so somewhere more appropriate
sincere apologies to all for discussing religion

What do you mean there not the same?? Yes please lets discuss somewhere else since this has nothing to do with WinMobile.... Just tell me when and where....
Islam is the fastest growing religion in the World, and Ahmadiyya is the fastest growing Sect of Islam. All these people must be doing something right! Also Lahori ahmadis are almost all gone there is now only one type now.

Salaam,
Please if anyone has any questions about me or Ahmadiyya please email me. Please do not read everything you read on the net, people have been born and raised hating on Ahmadis but I am not sure why. Just recently two Ahmadi's have been shot and killed in Pakistan. One was a doctor who helped people at a local hospital for free since there are so many families that cannot afford it.... He was killed only because he was Ahmadi. This is not Islam, Killing innocent people is not Islam no matter what sect you are. Why all this hate when most people do not even know what the true Ahmadiyya Views are. Everyone only reads about non ahmadi's views(Which i get; they don't like us so of course there are going to write negative things.) Why not read from our sites to see what we are really about:

First of all I want to say "Assalamu'alaikum" for all muslims in this forum, I am from Indonesia but I currently stay in the Netherlands
Second, it is as important as my first point, ... i want to say "What a great forum it is"
This forum does not merely provide a plenty of knowledge, but it also shows a huge tolerance and peace. You can see another example in one of thread where some of our brother (sorry forget his name) asking for ours praying for his daughter who is ill. So many people in this forum reacted to that thread and give their pray...
Thanks to the mods (especially for Mike) who lets this thread still stays in this forum
Regardless my muslim status, I agree with Mike that this thread is similar to "Hello everybody". It is not different with how i am so happy to see you, Denis, in this forum because we are Indonesian.

I thought he was Indonesian because I saw a red-white flag beside his name. I forgot that Monaco also has the same flag as Indonesia's
Really sorry for this ....
I didn't mean to be a chauvinism by both focusing on religion issue (saying assalamu'alaikum) and nationality issue (assuming Denis was an Indonesian). I was just so happy to see red-white flag ...

Salaam to all & Eid-ul-Azha Mubarak!
We all love each other weather they maybe Muslims or Non-Muslims,
We all are of 1 Blood which has the same features Universally, so thats why the Love for Humanity stays within us all, we can't deny it.
We can run but we cant hide from the Reality that GOD has made.
We should appreciate & Love All..
The Fight is of Politicians, who use us is favour of their own personal satisfaction & wealth. We should'nt get abused by them. It's upto us now.
The world is comming to end.
The Love perspective should be made in correct direction for the humans to make More & More Love with precision.
For example, No matter whatever we do, how much fight, hatred, envy, then all over again we all humans still have to come to 1 community to help eachother, for example this XDA Forum...see...how astonising it is...
Cause we all are as Clean as Fresh born. Our hearts are clean, our social perspective is sound. But whenever we see on Media(which is a weapon of Politicans) those fake stories we begin to embarass over humanity.
The damn' politicians should be burnt alive & thrown into Hell without VISA! The use us, they abuse us, they want to see us fight...But we will show them that we won't do this ...We WILL NOT...Listen Clearly..We will not harm our human brother...!
Love U ALL ! Take care all of you..! No matter how many color threads, But we should still remain in 1 BALL...! PEACE!

Assalaamu Alaikum. I plan to travel to Malaysia this summer, I presume most food outlets are Halal, right? :)
yes you are. in here Malaysia, most of food is halal. Malaysia is multiracial, chineses people, indian, malay, etc ..other religion know that muslim people here want to eat halal food..so when you go to shop, certain shops using ayat Al-Quran or Halal brand mark back on their counter..
so, where is specific location you want to go..dont go to KL, so busy place.. lots of people, cars, and so hot..:D
em, next month i will go to Indonesia. will doing my teaching-studying there...
