In File explorer, just navigate to your file. It should be called Schaps_advancedConfig and click on it. Its that easy.
If you can't see it, Make sure you are in the right place so you can see your file. If you aren't in the right place click on the little arrow in the title bar which is just above your folders in file explorer and navigate to your file then click on it.

Hard Reset: Perhaps *something* you installed or changed maybe causing this problem. Start afresh and see where that takes you: You can even try it via the "clear storage" method from Settings. Cheers.

1. HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\BatteryTimeoutInCall

2. HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\BattSuspendTimeoutInCall

Guys what about Glyph cache ? mine comes set at 8k
That likely has to do with the Video Rendering. I could see a direct positive result in increasing this..from a technical standpoint. It'll likely further reduce available memory though! The only thing is I don't know how the glyph cache relates to the graphics hardware in the phone and if tweaking that could mess it up in some way!

So as mentioned in another thread, SMS on the phone was set, by default, to not wake up the phone. This resulted in Vibrate feature not working if the phone was in standby and the phone would only vibrate once the user actually looked at their phone.
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL :
DisableSMSWakeUpEvent <-- set to "1" by default. meaning NO wake up to SMS message
By doing this you will not always receive the vibrate / tone notification that are receiving a text!

to switch off option "mute call on phone flipped face down":
HKLM\Software\HTC\PHONE:
FaceDownMuteRing: set to "1" by default, change that to "0"
it might come handy sometime I suppose.
another one:
HKLM\Software\HTC\PHONE:
WaitingTone
set to \windows\waitingtone.wav by default.
customise your waiting tone. be inventive ;)

I have spent the last couple of hours doing side by side tests on my freshly installed Touch Diamond and my overloaded and long since installed Touch Cruise.
I have applied both the tweaks on this forum which do seem to speed up the Diamond but after this the Diamond is still miles slower than the touch cruise.
I tried opening a 24k pdf attached to an email and the cruise does it in a couple of seconds and the diamond takes more like 6 to do the same.
It doesnt sound a lot but it adds up to a very sluggish diamond when compared against the cruise. It also adds up to me putting the diamond in the packet and sending it back on Monday morning. I am sick of messing about with it just trying to get it to work acceptably. The form factor is amazing but I may try again with one once proper UK stock becomes available. Interestingly I tried to register its serial on the HTC site but they said it wasnt a valid serial number!
Expansys will have one more touch diamond in stock by Tuesday,...Mine!

are you sure they didn;t just send you some demo model with reduced specifications. since the htc website is telling you the serial number is not valid. maybe that;s also causing the slowdowns

Next Tweak needed...
The virtual scroll wheel does not work for reading emails and stuff. So far, it only works in Tom Tom for adjusting volume. For those that think I'm crazy, look close at the main button your keypad and you'll notice a ring around it with arrows. This is supposed to act as a scroll wheel like the physical wheel on the cruise!
Currently this appears to only function for me within Tom tom for volume adjusting (meaning the device is not physically defective).

The functionality is definitely there but someone needs to figure out how to unlock it for all applications. The wheel also scrolls properly (i.e. like the Cruise) when zooming in and out of pictures. Wouldn't life be easier if the phone actually came with its full potential?? Like accelerated graphics, scroll wheel that works in all apps and the accelerometer that flips orientation in all applications?? Hopefully the genius minds of XDA will make all these possible

I think what they want is for it to work as a scroll bar.. e.g. te side wheel on the first TyTn..
If you look at the Cruise, the HTC Album app.. When you "scroll the wheel" the photo selection will "scroll"... As I understood, in the diamond, nothing will happen (note again: not the photo preview, the photo list)

OK. Here it is, step by step. Ask questions if I've been unclear anywhere.
1. Download a registry editor, like PHM Registry Editor (http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/) (the desktop installer will probably be the simplest).
2. Install the registry editor (you'll need to connect via Active Sync or Windows Mobile Device Centre).
3. Run the registry editor (it will be somewhere in the list of programs).
4. You should see a tree of what looks like folders. You can treat these in a similar way to normal folders - their paths are specified in the same way. For example, 'HKLM\Software' would be the software 'folder' that appears when you press the '+' beside HKLM (by the way, HKLM, HKCU, etc. are fairly obvious abbreviations of the names of the four main 'folders').
5. Either find the keys specified here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2275553&postcount=35) and change the values to the values specified ('edit' or 'modify' the keys (the things that look like they might be equivalent to files within the 'folders')), and/or try to find the keys specified here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2277191&postcount=55), and increase the values to whatever you like (they might be in seconds).
Now...Potential problems:
1. PHM registry editor doesn't work - It may not work, so try to find another registry edititor.
2. You can't work out how PHM Registry Editor works - Apparently "Context-sensitive help may be accessed while using the application by tapping on the Help item in the Start menu."
I hope that helps. As I said, if there are any problems or complications that I didn't forsee, ask and I'll try to help.

You can...but I don't know if that will work. Sometimes when editing the registry, you just have to take risks. If it makes a mess of your device, you can always do a hard reset. In fact, it's good practice to backup everything before you do a registry edit.

You need to download a program to edit the registry, there are heaps
I use CeRegedit only because i don't have to install it on my device, its a desktop program where i can edit the info from my computer.

No increase in speed for me! Device still hangs when turning on the device? Any other ideas?
Mine also hangs during bootup.
Stalls right after 'Tap here to launch TouchFLO'.
To make the hard reset, I have to turn the device on, press enter and volume-down simultaniously - but nothing happens.
Seems like the volume-down does not react (the light around the enter will light up as I press it).
Any other way to make a hard reset ?
Thanks.

Removed the SIM-card, and a hard reset was possible.
I guess the PDF manual wasn't near by...
1. Ensure the phone is on.
2. Press and HOLD both both vol-down and Enter/Select/Center keys.
3. With both of the above buttons still pressed down, use the stylus to press the red reset button, then release the reset button.
4. You'll be presented with a screen of text.
5. Release the vol-down and Enter/Select/Center keys.
6. Press vol-up to reset the phone. Or, Press vol-down to reset the phone AND format the internal 4GB storage.
Nothing to do with SIM-card in or out.

When I removed the SIM-card, the phone reacted as supposed to the written hard-reset method.

You have 192 MB total, 113 available to programs, the rest is used by the ROM (Windows system files etc.). You see those number side by side in Start>Settings>System>Memory

wow. I was going to send this phone back but it seems miles better after this tiny tweak. Why the f**k dont HTC set it up correctly in the first place. When i got my touch cruise i got loads of tweaks from on here that made it better so perhaps HTC should watch this forum!
Because it kills even more RAM and some people arent happy with that!!
It maybe speeds up the device itself but with less RAM other apps go slower!

This works for me now, the phone is waking up when receiving an sms. Only thing i'd like to see is that the message is also showed, not only an icon in the top taskbar. Just like my S200 did stock. Does anyone know how to fix that?

You can change that setting in Settings -> personal -> Sounds and Notifications.
Go to notifications, event = new text message, tick display message on screen.

Hi - I'm new to all this, so sorry if the question is a stupid one. I'm trying to work out how to add a Russian Keyboard to my lovely new Diamond. Changing the standard international settings shows that WM6.1 supports Cyrillic, but the language list in the keyboard menu only has a handful of European options.
Having trawled for ages on this, I've not got far: Gullum's thread, as far as I can tell, has created an application for non-diamond devices and associated QVGA keyboard skins. I'm not sure if he hacked these from original Diamond VGA skins, or simply designed his own look-alikes? Anyway, I think my questions are:
1)To get a russian keyboard/keypad etc, do I need to install something or is it as simple as a registry tweak?
2) If it is a registry tweak, what is it?
3) If I need to install something, any clues where I find the files, and where/how I install them? I'd rather stick with the native keboard application and simply change skin than install a 3rd party keyboard app
Apologies again if I'm being stupid.

I would really appriciate if someone posted a short video with the Diamond in use after some of the tweaks (or at least just the "bigger cache" tweak) implied. I know a lot of ppl would want such a video! so be the fist on the internet to post it :)
The video dosen't have to be outstanding quality or anything... just a short presentation with the phone in use... Slide through some menues, and try to stress the phone a little with some fast switching between tabs/menues...

what are you expecting?
the diamond interface needs some time. so if you go to weather, it needs to load the weather page before you can continu. even with the tweaks. (i did not do the fatfs tweak, because it crashes my diamond)
if you do not wait for the interface to complete it's task it will not execute the next command correctly. f.e. go to weather, then go to home immediately after. it will go to the right in stead of to the left

Hi, i am new to this "tweaking registry" thingie too. Got rather frustrated with my Touch Diamond. Poor battery life, slow response etc. I have read thru the forum and heard about improvements made with the tweaks. Thank you for this step-by-step post, i'm gonna try it and hope it works for me.
However, i have some questions that i hope you (or anyone) can help answer for a newbie. To see improvements below, (please see link), do i need to install any other software other than registry editor? i have also read about a certain "Advance Config" of sorts.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398265
After all that needs to be done, is done, do i do a soft or hard reset on my phone? or several soft resets will do? Please advise, thank you.

I think it should be noted that TF3D is working well on the new ROM without any tweaks, specially that many of them decrease the amount of memory available for other programs.I your TF3D is sloww make sure to update to the latest Rom before taking any other steps.

A soft reset is all it takes...you might need to do a few soft resets after each tweak but you dont need to hard reset unless you want to go back to the way your phone was originally when you got it.

I've changed these values and still TF3D is as slow as in the beginning..... does anyone know why?

A soft reset is all it takes...you might need to do a few soft resets after each tweak but you dont need to hard reset unless you want to go back to the way your phone was originally when you got it.
Any idea should i install any other software? (eg. any advanced config) BTW, my ROM version is 1.35.871.5 WWE (stock) is this the latest? it is dated 06/06/08.
If this is not the latest, can anyone tell me where and how can i update to the latest ROM? sorry for the questions, really needed some pointers. Thanx.

Hi..just wondering from the experience of the users of HTC diamond...
do we need to tweak the following original rom...its seems to work fine without tweaks...what do u all suggest..
ROM:1.37.707.1 WWE
Radio version:1.00.25.03
Protocol version:52.26a.25.09H
The touch flo seems to work better than the tweaks...
Thanks

Could some please PM me, with help to my problems:
Endless vibration when I get a text message and phone muting completely whether I use it or not.
Soft reset (turning phone off and on) fixes it, but only for a short period time usually for only 1 hour or so.
I've tried 3 different ROMs (1 being stock) but it still happened with all 3.
I can't use the phone because I miss calls/texts. I don't want to turn my phone off and on every 30 minutes.
Please help me!

Did anyone try the tweak mentioned in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291271
And going further, did anyone try tweaking the software to get an even bigger range? I guess the ranges are programmed in the radio software. What is the max the hardware give us?

There is a registry tweak to change the "Turn off backlight if device is not used for 10 sec" and "Turn off device if not used for 40 sec" ???
For the first one 10 sec is too short and 30 sec is to much... I prefer 15 sec if is possible and 30 sec for turning off (but there is only 40 sec, 1min, etc).
Thanks!

HELLO TO ALL.
i have got so much from this forum, now i have founded something, so i will share with YOU!
Maybe someone founded this, then pls admint to delete my post.
Everybody like his own rom, not firstly of its speed, bechmark results etc..but for appeariance: nice icons, nice folders etc..eeryone has his own most liked stuff. just like me. I tried several roms, now i finded a realy good one, GOD BECAUSE AT THE TFL3D menu sliding the pictures is awesome, almost like at the iphone. VERY SMOOTH!!!!!
but i hated the icons at the menu..so i was trieng to use different rom and to find that album version...then i find it, but the most of roms didnt give me a permission to install it.
So, i have found these steps, worked at me:
I used Shaks 4.3 rom. then i got some old version of htc album and installed it. Ot was ok, at the programs appeared the good old htc albumicon. I restarted the decice. Then i was able to put the new htc album on it, and its working!!!!
the album located here:
http://www.mobilitydigest.com/downlo...19131527_0.cab
very nice, i can use this version of album in all roms.
:D
not a big foundation but for me it was annoing that i have seen how this new one works but not all chiefs use it at their rom..
