No. I use 3.07. Os.nb.payload with msflshtool.exe

what is the ideal page pool that u guys recommend for an elfin? i found not much difference with 16 mb over the 12 mb default. and 18 mb seemed a tad bit slower.

Depends from ROM to ROM. 0, 12, and 16 are very similar to me. Just run the PP Changer and do 5 test runs of each PP value to get the boot time average (this time is shown in the program).

I've got an Elf and with PP 0mb I run into problems that I can't start any programs anymore. I get constant errors of low memory when I start to run a program, asking me to close some programs but there aren't any running.

Elf 3.14.706.02 ROM
Default PP was 4 mb
Current PP setting: 0 mb
Program memory:
-total: 55,74 mb
-in use: 53,59 mb
-free: 2,15 mb

With 8mb it is:
-Total: 47,71 mb
-In use: 36,05 mb
-Free: 11,66 mb



How come 0 mb doesn't work for me?

I used PP changer tool to mess around with my page pool... and now i am messed up :eek:
i changed my pagepool to 2Mb and now it is damm slow... and when i connect it to computer... guess what... active sync is not responding... so not able to change it to 4Mb... :(
Nothing is opening just the home screen...

PP of some ROMs here like kancrutt's & PDAViet's v82/v83 can not be changed using the stickied on-the-fly PP changer. I don't think its version related but rather the way these were cooked.

Please use the aattached pp-changer to change those type of ROMs with the difference that changing pp is not on-the-fly but done before flashing the ROM.

Just extract the ROM .nbh file, run the pp changer exe, point to the .nbh file-directory, select the pp from the buttons or type '0' to the 'custom' drop down if you want full pp, click change to button. Click 'ok' to close. Check the .nbh pp if it has changed by re-openning the pp changer & pointing to your .nbh file!

Did you use the Universal PP Changer in the 2nd post? That one should work, as it has been tested with Onyx.. although not with WM6.5, but nonetheless should still work.

Just in case nobody has tested / commented on this yet (I'll be honest I haven't read all pages); Dsixda's PP Changer in post 2 works perfectly well on Onyx 6 R3 (build 28004), I'm runnig a 6mb PP with between 16 and 17mb free RAM at boot, and it does seem that my programs are loading a bit faster than with the previous 4mb pagepool.

I'll test it for a few more days and see how it goes though. For the record, I tried a 0mb PP, no problems as such, not like other people have mentioned (programs not loading? activesync not working?) but it was a bit slow and free RAM wouldn't go higher than about 7mb or 8mb...

Ya really, I am using kancrutt's sx 8.0. while I am trying to chande the pagepool, its giving sm error i.e `unknown pagepool' or smthing like that.

Probably you are Right. Rom was not defined the pagepool, But I got to know that it is by default 4.
But smhow I managed to change the pagepool.

I a using pagepool 12.
Its working great now.
But 1thing, which I can't understand, is there any relation with battery & pagepool??
B-cause when I changed my pagepool to 12, I felt that Battery is not giving that performance which I was getting previously.

i managed to change the page pool size to 0 MB in SX8.0 rom.

All u need to do is edit the nbh file using hex editor
find this line 03 15 A0 03 02 15 A0 13 00 00 A0 E1 62 C2 FF EB
now edit the value you want to change the pool size

I changed it to 03 15 A0 03 00 16 A0 13 00 00 A0 E1 62 C2 FF EB for 0 MB pool page size.
