InvisibleShield eh? I had bad experience from using it on my Cruise. Don't get me wrong, it is a very good protection for your device but if your device is made with the paint coating on the outside, it may take apart the coating when you take off the shield. On my Cruise, some of the gray silverish area around the screen was gone. Not sure about Diamond but I dont intend to find out myself.

I have one on pre order but until I decide whether I wanna take the chance I plan to use the full front screen protector by Martin Shields along with the official HTC case (well until any better third party solutions come along).
Martin Shields seems to get good reviews and I can confirm that it is amazingly clear.

Well.. I use it on my universal and ordered for the diamond yesterday... I have to say that I am in love with the Invisible shield range! Bearing in mind that this phone IS a fingerprint magnet, i dont really want to use a case if i dont have to! I stopped using a case for my Uni about 3 days after having the shield...
It will be interesting to see what kind of solution they provide for the back though!

Will the invisible shield make the device NOT a fingerprint magnet?
In that case, would it be nice if I used it for the rear only? Any sudden change is colour, etc?
Coz I'll actually plan to use clear G-mask (thats what we call it here in SG) for the rear. That surface isn't a fingerprint magnet.
As for screen protector, looks like MF is already available for the diamond!

/QUOTE]
Well.. I can only speak for my UNI, however.. They are extremely easy to keep clean, and I have NO colour difference. Havnt tried it on a black device though! I am going to apply it when i recieve it, and then post some photos for people to have a look!
I will definately use the full body version.. i have a ´couple of "nasty" marks on the one protecting my uni, mainly because it fell open screen onto some rocks at the beach, and went clatter clatter clatter.... You know one of those moments that you stand there shocked and tell yourself that you are going to have to find a new screen??
Picked it up, and there were a couple of light scratches on teh screen protector.. but thats it!
Because it distributes any impacts across its whole surface, it really does help protect the screen / phone VERY well.

Does removing the invisibleshield damage any coating on the machine (most notably on the front screen) like they do on the cruise? If so, that's a big no no.......

Have to say....
Its not bad.. but really not great!
Its a 5 piece jobbie.. 1 piece for the entire back, one piece for the front screen (including folds for the top, and sides!), one piece for the buttons at the bottom of the face, and 2 fiddly bits for the bottom next to the USB jack.
Problems so far are that the round action button is NOT cut out, so it "floats" above. It may stick after time though!
And its worse that the damn IPhone to apply!
After 4 attempts, and about an hour I gave up... I restuck it to the pieces of paper, and will try again tomorrow! :)

Well - just to compare it with the experience I had with the iPod touch:
Never ever a InvisibleSHIELD again.
Not the quality, I managed to get i on top without any bubbles, but the haptic is bad. Also the over all appearance neither I nor my friends like.
The second iPod Touch I protected with the anti-glare foil from the Apple Store (don't remember the name). Frankly, that is much nicer (front), but not for the back site...
Hope anyone will produce s.th. combined: a self gluing anti-glare front protection foil, together with an InvisibleSHIELD like back.
Any suggestions where to find such?

It's a full body Invisible shield. First one the front, second the back.
It's difficult to distinguish, but there are holes in the protector for the camera, earpiece, volume and power buttons, etc

Please let us know how easy it was applying the shield to the back.

this would really help me decide whether to bother to fork out the money for one. I've ordered from them before and they take forever to post to Australia and I also ended up having some orders LOST. And I'm sure other manufacturers of the same type of product (i.e. BodyGuardz, BestSkinsEver, Protech) will soon offer them for the Touch Diamond at a way cheaper price.

I also ordered a full body InvisibleSHIELD on June 16, I used a $4.95 discount code that I found using Google and therefore it cost me only just over 13 euros. I think that's a bargain, now only the thing needs to be delivered (Netherlands). I'll try to post some pictures after it arrives, I have a Canon dSLR with a good macro lens ;)

I recieved mine yesterday, asked brother to fit it today as he's done several in the past, he was very appalled with the qaulity of this, he said their was barely any stickiness to the shield so it doesnt even stick on properly! my phone looks a complete mess now and just looks completely stupid.
Im going to contact them tommorow as i think there might have been a manufacturing fault on mine somewhere...

Nice! Did it stick ok as opposed to what is said above? I read about two small parts that cover the usb-side of the phone, are they of any use? And what about the phone's edges, does the body cover go around the edges or are they still exposed?
As soon as mine's in, I'll do my best on applying it and shoot some macro pics with my 20d w/ 90mm macro ;)

Awesome - will be waiting patiently to see how it turned out. How long did it take? Were there corners easy to apply? I had so much trouble trying to get my iPhone skin to apply on the corners. Had to slightly dry/evaporate the liquid using a blow dryer to get it to stick.

Looking forward to feedback on this. I had the screen only protector for my Touch Dual and it was not bad, very "grippy" though, don't try to slide the stylus on it and not terribly clear, some tiny bubbles never went away, but made me feel confident the screen would not get damaged.

corners take a while to stick as with most phone's i've applied skins to -it's due to the skin/phone being wet. Try using a blowdryer on low to medium heat setting and blowdry the liquid for about 10 seconds on each corner. Then use the centre of your hand to press firmly for 30seconds to a minute on each corner to 'mold' the corners in to place.

I agree. They are rubbish. Last one we tried the little bubbles NEVER disappeared.... So instead we used Expert Shield as they don't have any 'spray' you just carefully apply them and that's it. It's done, and totally invisible.
This time around Expert Shield do no not yet have a product that fits the diamond, so I have gone with Martin Fields. They also provide a protector for the camera. Which is good as I may remove the little plastic glass part attached to the back cover of the diamond altogether, and apply the camera Martin Fields cover directly to the lens itself. As you've all probably read by now, the diamond takes a lot better pictures when the back cover is off. So by removing the apparently sub-standard clear plastic from the back cover, and then using the Martin Fields, I could be taking better pictures but still have the lens protected from scratches.
But seriously - invisible shield sucks donkeys. I only hope you guys here using them now have a better experience then me, if not, well you now know some other brands to try.

I usually have used Boxwave protectors http://www.boxwave.com/products/categories/screen_protectors.htm, suits perfectly on my TomTom.
But they have not yet one for Diamond , that was the reason to try an InvisibleSHIELD, not installed (havn't got my phone).
I installed one InvisibleSHIELD to my camera, no problems, no bubbles at all, suits well.
I installed one to my wrist computer (a round one) and it has those bubbles, it looks like an orange, not well.

You should not make such sweeping statements. Seriously, you have no idea what you are talking about.
Using the spray will help remove the bubbles when the shield "settles", and maybe that is why you had bubbles that do not disappear on your device. You CAN remove the shield after application, even after a year, just that you have to peel it off using lots of strength.
Ingvarr
3rd July 2008, 12:40 PM
It just can be very dangerous to use a lot of strength on a thin touchscreen glass - you easely will peel touchscreen off your device along with invisishield.
That's why I would not use adhesive films like invisishield on sensor surfaces. On the back cover and sides - yes, since they are curvy, but not on the front. On the flat front the non-adhesive film will be better, easier to apply without defects anyway.

Received my Diamond yestarday. Tried to apply the Invisible and..... great disaster!!
It's very very difficult to cut the plastic holes for the earpice, camera, vga camera... and almost impossible for the enter button circle. When I sucedded with the screen part everything was covered by fingerprints. No way to remove them. Besides there was a small cutted line starting from the hole of the camera.
So I started to apply the back part, ok. I put medic gloves to avoid fingerprints, spray the liquid and JesusChrist! so many bubbles and imperfections!! And how do you get to apply it at the exact place? Because first time I could not remove the back cover due to the invisible was gluing both parts. So removed the entire plastic and tried again... more bubles, more disaster, more desperation.
Finally I gave up, put the screen protector provided and I will buy a nice slim case. I do not know if I am so clumsy just not to kwon how to apply one simply plastic but if someone has suceeded with good results please post the pics.

Well, still there is nothing preventing you from peeling this tough glass panel along from invisishield. Its not constructed to withstand outward force, mainly inward - connection to the frame is not that strong. Personally I wouldnt take that chance.

Of course its possible, personally I thought doing so myself. But now I think I will by extended battery with alternate cover anyway, so I wont be needed the back protection, only MF front one & for camera.
MF is defenitely better for front. It applies better, has less impact on sensitivity, easy to remove and almost totally invisible & smooth.

I didn't say you can't make sweeping statements, I said you should not. Seriously, education is cheap and affordable for most people and you should learn to read.
Oh come on, just because I am living in Singapore doesn't mean I get thrown into jail for doing most petty thing, do I?

Hey mate, where did you order your MF screen protector from? If it was online, how long did it take to get delivered to you in Melbourne? I'm also located in Melbourne and would like to have a fair idea of the time frame to receive it. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Just wanted to also ask, does the sensitivity feel better with the MF screen protector in comparison to the OEM one that came with the Diamond? (Assuming that you've actually used the OEM one that came with the phone).

I ordered through expansys mate. Have a look at this link (http://www.expansys.com.au/d.aspx?i=169358)
They have a next day delivery for Melbourne Inner Metro, or you can choose to pick the item up, they are located in Collingwood. You can usually pay online and then go straight down to pick it up provided of course they have the item in stock.
Also I did not get an OEM screen protector in my box, so I haven't tried one...

thanks all for the useful info in this thread, esp salada2k for the expansys link (i live in sydney.)
salada: did you apply the MF camera protector bit to the rear case or to the camera lens itself?
i'm contemplating using the MF for the front and camera, and spraying the back with a high-gloss lacquer (since it comes off completely anyway) and then buffing it smooth. or even wax? (same idea essentially)
i already have the invisible shield for my nano and even though it works very well, i don't like the mottled appearance it gives to surfaces, and the back of the diamond is the last one i'd want to mottle :)

No problem. I applied it to the lens itself because I want to remove the clear glass/plastic on the outer case altogether, as the diamond takes much better photos when it's off. There was a guy that compared two photos of the same subject, one with the rear cover on, one with it off, and you could clearly see the difference. Case off = better quality. So I though that (and I haven't done it yet) if I put the martin fields directly on the lens at least I would have some protection from scratches.

yep i asked because i read the same thing here (http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_touch_diamond_vs_samsung_i900_omnia-review-262p8.php). i assume it's not a trivial job of removing the plastic from the back cover though?

Got my Diamond today, but had ordered the "Shield" earlier, the deliverance (to sweden) was under a week. I bought protection to some other stuff too, for instance my Canon Ixus 860. I't works well on the digicam but i't was really crap to make it fit on the diamond! And it made an ugly impression. I riped it of, and mounted the standard screenshield instead. But i'm sure it will do the protectionjob well, it is very ridgid (but not invincibel).

:) it is not Invisible too. I'm a bit disappointed with it. I agree protective qualities are good (could be perfect actually) but aesthetics... fingerprints are harder to remove then from unshielded phone and for some reason it attracts dust :)

OK back again from my little handcrafting adventure!
Although the invisibleSHIELD was a bargain (13 euros including shipping to the Netherlands, oh and I'm receiving a 2nd one for free because delivery took so long!) I cannot say I'm 'wowed' by it.
The application of the parts takes some patience and perseverance and I must say that it sticks very well, even around the edges once all moisture has vaporized. BUT, the material is very elastic and grippy.
To put it in physics terms: the surface resistance is very high and the elasticity modulus is small which you DON'T want on a device that is operated by sliding gestures and movements. It basically prevents your skin to glide across the screen easliy, as opposed to the smooth touch that the HTC screen protector provides (because it is of a very hard material). Compare it to rubbing a balloon, the grease in your skin makes it stick to the surface.
Nevertheless, the elasticity of the invisibleSHIELD makes it an excellent guard for the battery cover where it gives extra holding grip as well. I think I'll leave it on there as well as on the buttons area, but I took the screen part off within 15 minutes. It sucks donkey balls when making gestures. So I put the HTC screen protector back on, which works like a charm. Now my Touch Diamond is still fully protected while easily operated, not too bad!
BTW: The invisibleSHIELD package shows off with their "military grade" material logo and "Backpacker's choice 2007". When going on a hike, yes, put this thing on. I am sure you won't regret it when it accidentally slips out of your pocket! ;)

It's very very difficult to cut the plastic holes for the earpice, camera, vga camera... and almost impossible for the enter button circle.
I am at a loss to know why you had to cut any holes. I ordered one of these and it arrived with holes cut for earpiece, camera, enter button etc. Essentially it was a single back piece, a separate bottom piece for the front and a cover for the screen, plus two small pieces for the bottom of the phone. All necessary holes were there and this was a standard full body Invisible Shield from Zagg.com

Wow that is a cheeky move with the screen protector.
In regards to the MF on the actual camera lens, wouldn't that also make the picture qualities worse too? or are MF protectors really clear, enough to be able to cover the lens? I'm about to order one of these bad boy protectors.

Please read my previous post on this, I removed the invisibleSHIELD screen part and replaced it by the original HTC screenprotector again, simply because the shield's material is sticky and elastic and creates a lot of skin friction. Swipe gestures are noticably harder to make with it.
Actually I had the shield on for a day now, but I am going to take it off completely. The stylish glossiness of the Diamond is turned into a blurry orange peel by the shield...

I have read feedback on the invisible shield that it actually settles down about two weeks after application in such a way that the stickiness and elastic-ness goes away.
You might consider hanging in on a bit there for a few weeks to see if it does suit you better then.

It will not change. All that matters mostly is how good you will apply it, and, honestly, its quite hard for a newbie to apply it expertly (without bubbles & with proper amount of liquid/spray). If you got bubbles, foam or dust particles under the film during application process, they will not disappear - there is nowhere for them to go.

I must say that I did quite a nice job at applying it; washed my hands, got the device as dust & grease free as it could ever be, but the invisibleSHIELD makes it look dirty again! The material is sticky and elastic and catches quite some dust (my jeans pockets are clean now, hehe) and bottom line - it makes the TD look ugly.

They do like to play the "pay for shipping again" game.. But i have been impressed with their service overall...
I am now on my 5th shield for my 5th device! It takes some getting used to having the shield on the diamond, but i have to admit... I love it now.. The tackiness / resistance is almost gone, and now that malta is so goddamn hot, its nice to know i can hold the phone to my ear even in 40 degrees heat, and know its protected against any sweat and stuff getting in the gap on the screen...
I would reccomend them without a doubt!

Received and installed my Martin Fields protector today - very pleased indeed with it! Almost as difficult to install as the InvisibleShield (which I used on my iPod) if you want to get it near-perfect, but it's so much nicer when it's on - can hardly notice it at all, nothing like the rubbery texture and textured clarity of the InvisibleShield.
Equally it's almost certainly nowhere near as tough as the IS, but for me that's fine.

Should have waited for a while... I've had mine on for about 3 weeks and it took almost 10-14 days to completely dry out.
You can hardly tell it's on there. The "feeling" is superb... no chance of it slipping out of my hands.
I didn't like it for the first 4-5 days, I contemplated taking it off but being in the bodyshop business, I know how stuff like that needs to dry.
So, I waited and I'm glad I did... it's a nice relief I can toss it in my pocket and not worry about my keys scratching it.
DEFINITELY worth the money.

I'll try again with different settings but the reason I offered is because the pics that Geraldous took kind of make the front look "murky" (no offense to Geraldous)

I'm a fan of the 'invisible' shield/skin concept but on the Diamond and other touchscreen devices it really makes it less sensitive - The MartinFields Overlay is excellent, the screen is still extra slick and smooth with thumb/finger gestures and the screen retains it's sensitivity - I'd recommend using the MF Overlay for the front and the InvisibleShield for the back. Only problem with using it on the back, as mentioned by others, is that of paint peelage when removing it.. as well as the orangey tinge but that doesn't bother me too much.. rather an orange tinge than a scratched up battery cover.
orangecrush
14th July 2008, 05:34 AM
Really, I didn't notice an issue with sensitivity, in fact, a little bit of grippage feels better. Many times, I felt the glass (plastic) was too smooth and my fingers would slide across too much and hit unwanted buttons.
Obviously, everyone will have different opinions on grippage but the other thing is I like the way the whole phone now feels in my hand... much less chance of dropping it if it doesn't slip out of my hand.
Also, what peeling of the paint are you meaning? The back is black injected plastic, isn't it? I peeled my back off once and reused it and could have sworn the back was plastic.... unless you're talking about the lower part of the phone.
If anyone installs this and takes their time, I'm 99% sure they'll be satisfied with it.
The only downfall I've had so far is I bought a hard plastic cover and the film was thick enough that it didn't allow me to put it in the case.
I'm still planning on buying a pouch/case for it but it's good to know it won't get scratched when I throw my keys in the same pocket.
(and up to now, I have had to remember EVERY time not to put my keys or anything in the same pocket.)

I took this with a macro lens and it is so sensitive that even when zooming into a portion of the phone i.e. the dpad, it would make the surrounding buttons like the back button appear out of focus. Is that what you meant by murky?
Please let me know which pic did not turn out too well and I will re take it when I have the time.

Hi
I just installed Martin Shield and I prefer it to any other. I have tested several shields already. Here's the pros/cons:
+ easy to install (stiff structure) = easy to get right positioning
+ easy to remove (no glue)
+ really sensitive (truly invisible :))
+ great transparency ('bright and clear')
+ reusable (and re-washable)
Hint: Follow the installation instuctions -> Use piece of plastic tape to remove shield. The corner of the shield will be easely folded if you use your finger nail.

Hi all,
After installing the front invisble shield I had moisture behind the front camera. This is because of the liquid solutions is applied on the shield. When installing it and removing the excess moisture with the squeegee you can see that the liquid came behind the front glass of the diamond. I tought maybe after waiting a day the moisture whil dry out and go away.
But this wasn't the case and I have know a little dot in the center of the front cam. It look like the solution is dryied up and left a spot on it.
I have made pictures of it, so you can see it your selfs.
Has anyone experiencing the same thing when installing the invisble shield?

Too much solution applied and you squeegeed the wrong way.
Maybe it's humidity vapors, try the hair drier for a couple of minutes.

I dont think too much solution isn't the problem. Because a gave 1 press of the spray button and I think that this not too much. And I shaked it a little to drain the excessive solution.
What the diffucult thing is with the TD shield is that the only opening is between the screen and the home buttons etc.. so the only way to squeegee is to go to the bottom direction, because thats the only opening.
The solution hangs on the edges of the screen. The edges are a little open so the solution can go quickly inside.
This is my second diamond phone. By the first phone a had directly applied the invisible shield on it without starting the device for the first time.
After applying and starting the phone a saw yellow spots on the bottom of the TFT screen. On the first impression I tought it was the shield, but when I removed the shield it was still there. I didnt know if it was the solution and the moisture that came between the edges and inside the phone. So I don't know if this was the cause of ruining the screen. So I sent the phone back and had a replacement for it.
It is very tricky to apply the invisible shield on the TD, because of the opening edges. I tought maybe someone else has also expericing the same things.

I saw some people talking about the camera protector. Just to give some info and my experience on this.
First after cleaing carefully the camera glasses (both the inner one after remving the back cover and the external one on both sides) I could not see any noticeable difference in images. I think it is just a question of cleaning
The protective glasses are that, glasses. This means very good surface quality. For sure a plastic cover will spoil the image quality, because the surface is not so even.
Moreover, if you look at the reflection from the protective glasses you will see some colors (green or purple, depending on the angles) , not like a plain glass reflection. This is because they have antireflection coating. They are there to avoid ghost images and do its work nicely. The effect will be nulled by an attached plastic.
Finally the antireflection coating is very hard. You can clean it with your t-shirt wo problems (provided that it is not full of sand). Not so the plastic.
So, my recommendation is to clean all 3 surfaces and not using a plastic cover on the camera.

I'm using invisible shield on the back cover, and on the buttons. and using the original protector on the screen (and I will replace it, when it is scratched with brando ultraclear)
i think this is the best combination. imho the invisible shield is too rough / orange like, to be used on the screen, but it is almost perfect for the back cover, and the buttons.

Just installed Invisible Shield on the back of my diamond. First time and I got some big bubbles on it. Should i peel it of and re-install it or will it go away after some days?
Pics, ~20min after installation:

I have installed "Invisible Shield" on the back and sides and a "Martin Fields" on
the front side of my Touch Diamond.
(If anything goes wrong with the "Invisible Shield", all I have to replace is the
back cover.)
Bit of a hazzle to install the Invisible Shield, but I like the "feeling" of the Shield,
and it really is a "shield". Great protection for the phone.
Just do not put on too much of the liquid supplied with the Invisible Shield -
apply it very sparingly - better use less then too much and you will be happy with the result.
For the front side - I have tried three different brands, but Martin Fields seems
to be the best for me. The display is crystal clear and the touchscreen works
as if there was no screen protector applied.

Ok Im done. Quite a pain the back lid, if you don't get it perfect it wont look good.
-Little tip:
Apply a bunch of the spray on the back guard only(remove lid form diamond of course)
Then place the protector on the lid, since you have applied so much spray you can just slide the protector around the lid, that way getting a perfect fit get a little closer.
Have patience!
Let the uppper part rest after you have removed all the bubbles let it stick and then do the outer sides.
Dont be afraid to start again. If things look bad just abort! and start again.
Front part:
Only D pad section NO WAY SCREEEENNNN.( you can tell the thing is really stickyy and is by no means suitable to the fragile front screen IMO)
The bad thing about not putting the front protector on is that you don't get the side protection.

just thought id let people know that if they are thinking of putting an invisi shield on their diamond then think again
i applied the back one first and left it a few days to see how it would settle and it has sent the aluminium cover around the camera a purpleish colour.
i then put the cover over the keypad only and that too has a purple tinge to it and also gives a scratched look.
im not putting the screen protector on as im not wholly impressed. i used the one that came with the diamond, and although it highlights finger marks a bit more it was dead easy to apply and does the trick..
im still searching for the ultimate screen protector.

Hi all,
After installing the front invisble shield I had moisture behind the front camera.
Thanks.
You are supposed to leave out the circular bit of the shield, so the camera lens doesn't get covered. Read the manual and look at the illustrations! ;)
BTW: any dutch people that want an invisibleSHIELD? I have one unopened package here (the first one took too long to arrive, so they sent me another). I sell it for €10 excl. shipping, let me know in a PM if you're interested.

Well my package arrived and Ive decided to apply it to backside..
Backside:
Im not going to lie its really pain to apply it correctly :) But after 45minutes and finally had success. It looks quite good not as good as diamond without it but still ok. Ive just had problem with sides which didnt stick well but it was matter of time. You should use that spray decently otherwise it wont stick at all. Surface is quite sticky which is ok for backside. If you do it properly you wont have any bubbles..
Front button pannel:
Its fits really well and installation was quite easy. I didnt use spray at all. Scroll wheel works but it takes a while to adapt to new surface because your fingers will stick little bit.
Diplay:
I like orignal screenprotector from HTC so I decided to not apply InvisibleShield there. I think InvisShield is quite sticky as I mentioned above so thats

I managed to put on the Invisible shield with lots of patience. Took me some 2-3hrs to do it perfectly and I am not joking. The most difficult are the edges that seem that won't stick with anything especially on the left hand of the device where there are the volume buttons.
The end result is nearly perfect but something I did not like is that the stylus or finger is kind of sticky. Can anybody tell me what can I do to prevent this from happenning. I read somewhere that there's some stuff to overcome this but I forgot what it is or where i read it.
Something else that I didn't like (just a little) was the texture. The device's front is the same but on the back the texture of the invisible shield kind of degrades the way the way the material looks. And even on the sides. Also when I put the device in my pocket I also got some fibres/dust attached to the seams of the invisible shield. But with a wipe or two it goes away. The finger prints on the back side apparently improved a little. The rest is fine and it seems to be very effective. Before I had the original screen shield and it got all scratched up with the use of the stylus (and i use this not very frequently, just when playing astraware's bubble babble). With the invisible shield...no scratch at all!

Just to add to this thread.
I can't remember if it is mentioned in instructions with this product, or whether it has been mentioned in this or another thread:
When applying this or any other shield it is a good idea, if you can, to apply the thing in a steamy bathroom etc. This will ensure airborne dust particles are not present, and they will not fond their way behind the protector. Of course you need to ensure that the phone screen and the protector itself does not get steamed up.

I had two shields, for Trinity now Diamond. In my experience, those "big" bubbles won´t go away 100%. I still have 2 small marks from big bubbles I left in my Diamond thinking they would go away. Nothing big, but still visible. I would reapply if I could, but too much work now.

Considering it's almost 48 hours since I applied it it is maybe too late now?
But anyway, will those bubbles "decrease" theirselves after around a week or is that too much to wish for? :p
The bubbles on the front is barely noticeable but the back looks like a cow =)

I think all of you are making a big deal out of this.
Pictures like above are from people who applied the shield in a wrong way.
Sure the back of the diamond it´s not very easy to apply i know, i have the invisible shield applied only in the back and it´s quite good.
Don´t make this a big deal, if people doesn´t know to apply or follow instructions, don´t blame the product itself, because mine it´s almost perfect!!!

Using the rubber over and over, align the shield correctly, spray enough product do the trick. In that situation, i could try spraying the back side and use the rubber and apply some strengh to it. Not sure if helps but give it a try.

I tried the thing u said, without luck, except I actually got the biggest one out but it did leave a mark.

Well I'm still managing how to take photos of the installed film on my Raphael using the phone camera....:D
Ok my experience with it. It takes a little skill in installing window film to master this one. I used a hair dryer in low setting throughout the installation to make it faster and easier specially in the edges and other small pieces. If you need to remove, used soaped water on it and peel off slowly and it will work out with no damage to painted parts (At least I could do it). Did the intall and re-install of the fron bottom part in about one hour.
After install, do not put phone in pocket of jeans within 12 hours of installation or lint will get stuck in the edges (:( learned the hard way).
The unit looks good, it is not invisible it is transparent!, so you see edges and see that something is stuck to your phone, but does not look bad at all. Imagine if you installed clear car window film, thats how it will look.
I recommend if you are prone to scratches in your unit. Thank you.

as i read pros and cons about this shield and its installation difficulties i tried to be as much professional as possible: deep phone cleaning, washing hands twice, dust-free area, hand spraying, wife as co-technician and so on.
I started installing the front part: i found extremely difficult making the shield going around corners, it never stuck on sides! i tried palming, waiting, waiting and palming... after about 45 minutes of unsuccesfull tries i pointed my attention on the backside. Post ago someone suggested not to use the spray, so did I. AAAAAaaaaargh, i put it slightly off-centre and when i tried to remove it it was so glued to the cover that we needed 4 hands to remove it, and part of the glue was torn out from the shield! however we managed to remove it and started again: cleaning, spraying hands, spraying shield... WAIT: this spray for the shield (wife question) ? not the extrastrong window cleaning spray? I used it to spray the front part! Well, found the problem we started again: back part was put in place in 10 minutes, palming the edges after a few minutes did a good trick. trying again the front part: peeling off the shield was flawless (of course, no glue on it...), another cleaning, another spray (now the right one) then palming on edges and all was in place. I had hard times where you can see red bubbles: the shield was too thin (so becoming rigid) to fold; i managed using WARMING: i scratched/chafed the edge hardly with my finger (to heat it) the day after.
Bubbles: on the back i had a lot of bubbles on the lateral sides and where the glue was removed from the shield: 2 days after i hairdried the back, burnt my finger doing this, removed easily the shield and put it back in place with a better results. i still have the sign (see yellow) where i did my first mistake and i don't think it will improve that much, and a couple of minor bubbles which are slowly reducing in size (see blue). I think is a good product if it could cope with my installation tech niques... the appeal is a little less than before but sensitivity is good and i never use the pouch again. the only real difficulty on my opinion is just folding the shield on the edges, rest is smooth as silk.

I'm sending my InvisibleShield back...
I'll say 2 things:
1. They're difficult to apply, real difficult, but the result is ok, and they do provide excellent protection for the parts they cover...
2. 'Full Body' coverage does not include the area at the bottom of the diamond around the hardware buttons - hence why I'm sending mine back.
I've ordered a set of BodyGuardz - who do provide 'Full Body' protection - I'll post how they go when I put it on.
BTW - No problem getting the things off (as suggested in previous posts) just be careful, and don't rip it off...

If anyone's interested... A quick update on my skinning experience...
Just attached the back part of my BodyGuardz skin.
Noticed a couple of things - they cover every part of the diamond (unlike Zagg) and when I say every part, I mean every part... The InvisibleShield, apart from missing the massive part on the base of the front of the Diamond, gets a little skimpy on other areas too:
- Little corner around the stylus - covered by BG, not by IS
- Section on top infront of speaker hole - covered by BG, not by IS
- Area around HW buttons - covered by BG, not even looked at by IS
- Area around miniUSB connector - completely covered by BG, not by IS
The only part where BG falls short is they cut a U out for the front camera, rather than a hole like IS - however, this is a small sacrifice compared to what IS misses out on... The plus here is that BG is designed so you can use your original screen protector instead anyway (so I consider this a plus)
The finish of the BG is much smoother, so while it doesn't have as much grip (which is a good thing about the back cover on the IS) it also means you have a much smoother feel to the front protector - I hated the way your finger would 'grab' when trying to slide along the IS front... Personally I rate a smoother front over a grippier back anyway.
The smoother skin on BG also means your Diamond keeps the shiny look and feel it comes out of the box with, rather then feeling and looking like it's coated in rubber.
The BG skin (while not perfect) is cut to fit much better - IS seems to approximate the area whareas BG is cut to match...!
BG also comes with 2 skins, not one, so it's better value for money - go 50/50 with a mate, which works out the same as a 50% discount from Zagg - or, if you need a quick replacement, or you stuff up putting it on the first time, you've go another to replace it with straight away.
BG (like IS) also comes with a lifetime replacement warranty.
Now, it's not all peaches with BG, although I find it a minor point (however I may find it a bigger issue later on). Personally, you can look ar this either way:
BG comes in more pieces than IS, so in one sense, it's easier to apply, and to replace specific parts, as well as fitting better; HOWEVER, it does mean corners are not as well protected (IS they fold over, BG they join - or don't join depending on how well you apply them). What does this mean...? in some senses the back is a little less protected with BG - namely only the outside edge, whereas with IS it's only the little corners.
Don't be put off by this though, BG covers the front soooo much better than IS, whereas the back of the Diamond is replaceable if you get 'rough' edges... Mind you, having more pieces does mean you can minimise these areas better than you can with IS, so it's sort of half/half...
I guess this is a bit of a long review, however, the conclusion is BodyGuardz wins hands down:
Better Coverage
Better Feel
Better Look
Better Protection
Better Value
Easier Application
Easier Replacement
Seriously, if you've bought InvisibleShield, have a look at that little area around the hardware buttons, and think to yourself 'what if I drop it there...?' With BodyGuardz the thought won't even cross your mind...
Enjoy.
Just added:
Another good thing about the BG is that you can apply some parts dry...! Pick up the smaller parts (top, bottom, sides, HW buttons) using a strip of scotch tape, lay them carefully on so they just 'stick' then working slowly and carefully from the edge or centre, using the corner of the applicator in a circular motion (almost like you're colouring something in) work out the air bubbles - you'll noice this method allows you to perfectly align the shield (it slips too easily if you use water) and results in no air bubbles whatsoever...!
The large hardware button is a little tricky this way, so get used to the process before tackling that part...

So I've been stuck on invisibleSHIELD, BodyGuardz, Best Skins Ever, and Ghost Armor.
I've been an InvisibleSHIELD use for a few years now. But, after getting my Diamond, I wanted to make sure I've got the best coverage.
After reading up on quite a few forums, seems like BodyGuardz is the winner, comes with many pieces rather than one main piece that has to go around corners. Majority of people agree that it does not leave an orange peel effect, where the InvisibleSHIELD does. Just my 2 cents. BodyGuardz customer service is supposed to be exceptional as well if you ever hit a problem.
I'll be sending my IS back when it arrives this week, and will be ordering the full body BG tonight. Once it arrives, I'll be sure to post a review/shots.
EDIT: Great, one more roadblock. BodyGuardz is $35.95, and checking out BSE $10.24. Oh what a dilemma, to be cheap or not! So now I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs again.

But, I hated the fact that the material was sort on NOT finger friendly in terms of scrolling and stuff. The cover seems to be sort of sticky. SO, i had a friend that used 3M Vikuiti. So after I had some problems with my diamond and had to remove de Invisible shield, and I used this one. I must say that besides the protection is seemless, it actually looks better that Invisible shield (witch look like my phone has celulite). I have been using this for about 1 week and i am very happy with it. Looks good, scrolling is good (u can really use your fingers no problem). Problem is this : there are a lot of screen protectectors on the market (for pda, iphone etc), if you think about choosing a screen protection bare in mind that 3M has been doing this kind of stuff for more years then i can remember, also they are leaders on the market (at least in Europe), and also the fact that Invisible shield is using a tehnology developed by the military for helicopter blades, does not mean that is good for you phone too, although sound good. Bottom line is this : If you really want something just to protect you phone and you are not interested in the visual aspect of you phone (the shinny look with the shield is kind of chicky for my taste), use the Invisible shield. If you want you phone to look nice, protected also (maybe 3M did not put the phone in a bag full of nails, but I also, dont keep my phone in that kind of bag, but i do put it in the same pocket with my keys) try 3M. you will be happy i think

Invisible Shield will replace your old cover all you have to do is give them something like 3 bucks for shipping and send the old one back... Mine turned yellow and I'm using a white touch Vogue so it really showed so I called and got a new one.

Bought it for SGD$35. I can say I botched the job... It looks yucky and I had to rip it off save for the strip on the "keypad". Had to clean it over 2 days to get the adhesive totally off. Apply-on protectors dont work well visually with the diamond, you get edges that aint covered. Recommend not to buy.

I totally appreciate your honest feedback :)

I bought a bestskinsever for my cdma diamond. Shipping took two days standard since I live in their state. Dpad is flawless, screen is mostly flawless except for one small bubble but it's near the side so it's not as noticable. Material goes on extremely easily on the rubbery back of the cdma diamond; as soon as I put it on it stuck without any bubbles, no need to squeeze anything out. I made the mistake of handling it too soon so dust got into the corners and since I put the lens piece on first I didn't do such a good job with it, so they sent me a whole backside replacement shield free of charge!

Hello,
Here is my experience. I had a InvisibleSHIELD on my iPod Classic and it was great so I was considering buying one but after reading some of the the feed back it seemed that the product was good but the fit for our diamonds and even the iPhone (which i am now looking for) was not great.
I then heard about BestSkinsEver and because it was so cheap decided to go ahead and try it. I got it over 2 months ago and when I received it I applied it immediately. I have done a few of these so and since I am some what of a perfectionist I applied it to the best I could. It looked OK but after a few weeks the corners started peeling. Also due to the way the backing is placed it puts stress in areas which causes other areas to lift off (this is mostly on the corners). I ended up using a nail clipper to start clipping areas that were peeling off. After about 2 months it started to peal even more so I decided to go back to the reviews and see what was available. After doing some research I decided to go with the 12 piece BodyGuardz. It came in a set of 2 which is nice when i transfer the phone to my wife.
So all of this is to tell you that my first impressions of the BodyGuardz is well as good as I felt when I put the InvisibleSHIELD on my first iPod Classic. For me it did take a while (about 2-3 hours) to apply. This was not done in one sitting but instead because it was a 12 piece I applied each piece with 10 minute intervals allowing for tackiness to set in and so it would be easier to handle as I continued with the many pieces. First major thing I noticed and was really happy about was the BodyGuardz stickiness was considerably more than the BestSkinsEver. It stuck to the corners almost right away. Although throughout the process I did press down on the corners it was quite a bit easier as the BestSkinsEver did not have good stickiness. Also on a side note when i removed the BestSkinsEver it came of like a sticker which i know from my previous iPod is not normal and it usually takes a lot more effort to get it off carefully. Overall I am very happy at my first impressions of the BodyGuardz and the quality of the material seems to be better than the BestSkinsEver. Not to mention the 12 piece may seem like a lot of work but having individual pieces allows for no stress on the film in weird areas allowing it to sit flat with no parts lifting off (so far, i'll update in a month or two). Which is not the same case for the BestSkinsEver and from what I hear the InvisibleSHIELD. Newayz I hope this review helps someone.

Ive ordered both InvisibleShield and Best Skins Ever. Theyre both are about the same. They'll last you a few months and you have to buy another one.... Totally worth it though.
