WM 6.1 for AT&T Q9 Global

I done several searches and I don't see this but is anyone working or have a rom for WM6.1 upgrade of an ATT Q9 Global (Q9h)?

I am having the same problem. I've done several extensive google searches, and haven't been able to find any kind of download link to WM6.1 ROM, or a North American ROM, for that matter.

Anyone out there have any advice?

The update is not available yet. Even at everythingq.com. AT&T is holding off on releasing it for some unknown reason. My guess is that AT&T has new phones coming out with WM 6.1 and they are affraid that releasing the update to WM 6.1 will hurt the sales of those new phones.

WM 6.1 for the AT&T Q Global has been completed since at least April 1st. Microsoft gave 50 AT&T branded Q9h's at a CTIA preview event on April 1st. Those 50 Q9h's had WM 6.1 on them with all the AT&T customizations already done.

AT&T hasn't given the go ahead to Moto to release it, so currently, using Motorola software update is useless and even if you try, it says there is no update for your phone.

unfortunately each ROM is locked. Im made mistake, dont see my first ROM on device
and naw I dont know who is ROM be original on my Q9. Its nobrand (Im suppose). :(

And none of the unlocking services I tried have codes for unlocking it since its not on the AT&T IMEI database.

Does anyone have an unbranded unlocked Q9 they can be so kind to dump the whole ROM and share it with us?

I think this should be the only way now of reverting our situation.

What are your thoughts?

I loaded 6.1 on my kaiser.. no probs..
now I load 6.1 on my Q9e, and Blam.. Locked..

Solutions? Can I go back to an unlocked? or is it like the iphone, where upgrading only makes the unlocking worse?

Has anyone figured out how to unlock these unbranded Q9's that once where unlocked and are new PDA-bricked after the 6.1 update?

I saw some p2K stuff and Motorola SPC Unlocker or something to that nature.. but nothing that can handle newer phones like the Q9...

I'm sure I could buy some crazy box off eBay, but I would prefer a USB/softhack.

Hi,

I was one of the suckers that loaded the AT&T 6.1 locked rom onto my unlocked Q9h causing it to be locked. I then managed to disable the phone by entering the "Network Pin" too many times.

Anyway I have some good news, my phone is now unlocked.

I bought a code off a reseller on ebay that didn't work and caused me to disable my phone. This code was 16 digits long, so if you get a code this long don't use it!!

2 days ago I bought another code from http://mobileunlocked.com/ I choose a Motorola Q9h unlock code, (not the AT&T unlock code) and got it yesterday, its 8 digits long.

Put my sim in the phone, turned it on and got this like normal:

Network Pin
This phone can only be used with SIMs from specific networks. Contact your customer service center for the unlock code or insert a SIM from a valid network.
I entered the pin and got this:

SIM Failure
Your phone has been disabled.

At this point I pretty much gave up, but I pulled the battery and sim out and then put them back in and turned the phone back on and sat in on my desk on the Network Pin screen. It sat there for 24hrs without me touching it, so this morning I picked it up and pushed down to bring the screen back up and noticed the Network Pin screen was still there but I thought I would try the pin again anyway... then it worked Phone now unlocked.

So thanks to MMUK for releasing the ROM, and everyone else if your phone is locked and even disabled it can be unlocked cheaply.

At&T locked Tim Q9h , first unlocked after wm 6.1 ugrade, locked. No one made a rom to unlock? Still waiting?
