OK, everything seems to be working fine on my Neon. Although the Tflo2D interface moves very quickly, going into most of the WM6.1 apps, like email, sms, quickdials, etc, all seem to be very sluggish. I'm assuming it's due to the memory this interface takes up, since it was never slow before, but is there a known fix to improve performance?

I can't see the main menus in the lower part of the screen. I have reinstalled touchflo 3d on my kaiser several times, even with hard-reset. I can't see Phone, Update now, etc menues at the bottom of the screen. Can anybody help me???

I made a cab since there was only the oem for Large Title Bar
Hope it works:

Large Title Bar have everything working AS IT SHOULD when you don't have batterry level indicator dispalyed on title bar (for example when you open AllPrograms from Programs(Launcher) Tab), but if you have battery indicator on title bar, like I have on my TyTN II (Kaiser) on default M2D screen (icons are (let to right): Data connection indication ("G" or "E" or "3G" or "H") then "Signal level meter" then Volume icon then Battery level and then Task manager) then the icons when I open Larage Title Bar behave wrong: E on L-T-B opens Signal level details, Signal Level icon on L-T-B opens OpalVolume control, and Volum level icon on LTB opens power. ;)

after reading manila 2D thread i managed to make it run on KS20 after deleting libgles_cm.dll in the manila folder.im using herg62123 package.As what i know libgles_cm.dll already exist in \windows folder so local libgles_cm.dll in \program files\manila will make ur fps frickin slow.However after trying M2D 0.07 i cant even launch it

i have finally was able to recreat the audio manager lock up problem. i am looking into this.


as far as wifi not working i was able to create the error of not being able to use it and found this cab below the fix.

First of all I would like to thank you (all of you) who made this possible, it is a great "program" and works almost perfectly so thanks again guys! keep up the good work as it's really appreciated!

Now to my request if I may, I would like to port this over to vga mode as my device uses vga (X7510) and saw those png files in the M2D-Beta-0.07.cab file and I know i could just simply resize them but that would make the images blurry and as I know the diamond has vga resolution too so if I'm right all these images should be already available in vga resolution and if so could someone please point me to a source where I could find/download them or send me a zip file Please!

Till then I'm trying to figure out which file have to be edited with the coordinates, if any of you has some good points on anything that could help please don't hesitate to write!

Correct. It might be possible by changing the images to VGA and then changing the HTCHome.xml file but I'm not 100% sure about that. I don't have an HTC VGA devices to try it with.

The AudioManager which come with the ELFin Official WM6 Rom Version 2.20.456.1B works fine with all versions of the manilla 2D without lockups.

That is assuming HTC did not make this app DPI aware. This is possible but not good programming practice. If it DPI aware then what I wrote above would work.

Till now no problem with that and I feel pretty home in asm too so if the need comes lets hope I will be able to edit the numbers there too, anyway I just did some changes in the HTCHomeSettings.xml file and changed some sizes and it works even on bigger resolutions the only sad part is that I have to redo the whole image set which will take up some time cos I prefer then to redraw them than to resize them cos I want crispy sharpy images :)

Its getting pretty late here so I may go to sleep without notification :) but will let you guys updated on the process maybe should I create a new topic on this? what do you think guys?

This is an excellent program, however I have a very simple question. Has anyone installed manilla2D on a HTC TyTN II (mine is on the Orange network, UK) and got everything to work?
By that I mean TomTom, WiFi and Opera (from the Homescreen)

This perfectly work for my HTC Touch/Vogue Sprint. Everything is smooth.

After shutting off HTC Cube it works even better

Well if someone is interested you can do it by going to registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > OEM > TFLOSettings

and replace "EnableCube 1" to "EnableCube 0"

if will give you some faster performance, less annoying when you use gesture from the button by mistake, and give you more system memory. :)

I've just finished playing with couple of different versions of AudioManagers (old and NEW for 2D) on TytnII (by method: old version frirst and then new one without uninstalling old), and didn't get anywhere further from what is already posted: old versions usualy work but with distorted screen if started from M2D and no song name update on M2D (and no AlbumArt), and M2D versions just keep freezing TyTN II, either on start, or as soon as I try to select song for playing (smetimes during scan of files on device).

Just want to add to the compatible device list. I have M2D working on a CDMA (Verizon) Touch. Everything is working, including, internet, youtube, music, and contacts. Only thing that's not working so far is the "All Program" button on the lower left corner in the Program tab. If this can be fix, it is perfect! btw, I am using ppckitchen 20273 build and the latest gps radio from Bell.

Well guys I'm out. I did a fresh install of Manila 2D last night to get rid of some of the bloat of the old install. Everything was fine last night. I take my phone off of the charger this morning and it was running verrrrry slow. I decided to soft reset... I got a message saying "Unable to boot device due to the installation of untrusted or corrupt programs. Press SEND to restore to factory default settings."

I use this phone for work, so I can't afford the down time. I appreciate the work all of you have done on this and I hope that the development continues!

This build has been the first to work at all of the last 3 for me. I have just a few issues:
1) Contacts does not display pictures.
2) Pics and Music are not detected off of the card
3) TouchFLO will often spontaneously exit and need to be restarted. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to this.

Just want to add to the compatible device list. I have M2D working on a CDMA (Verizon) Touch. Everything is working, including, internet, youtube, music, and contacts. Only thing that's not working so far is the "All Program" button on the lower left corner in the Program tab. If this can be fix, it is perfect! btw, I am using ppckitchen 20273 build and the latest gps radio from Bell.

Check your windows folder and see if you have folderview.exe. If you don't you can try this cab, it works on the tilt....all it does is drop the folderview.exe into your windows folder.

Youtube still does not work with UPDATE_13_M2D.zip. The patched HTCYouTubeQVGA-Official.cab and Adobe_Flash_3.1_with_Youtube_and_Album_Video_fix.c ab really does not make any difference.

I do not have 3G/EDGE hence trying it on Wifi. Has anyone else got it working on HTC Elfin P3452?

I second this. I have also done the same and my HTC Touch Elfin is performing better.

This perfectly work for my HTC Touch/Vogue Sprint. Everything is smooth.

After shutting off HTC Cube it works even better

Well if someone is interested you can do it by going to registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > OEM > TFLOSettings

and replace "EnableCube 1" to "EnableCube 0"

if will give you some faster performance, less annoying when you use gesture from the button by mistake, and give you more system memory. :)

Well guys I'm out. I did a fresh install of Manila 2D last night to get rid of some of the bloat of the old install. Everything was fine last night. I take my phone off of the charger this morning and it was running verrrrry slow. I decided to soft reset... I got a message saying "Unable to boot device due to the installation of untrusted or corrupt programs. Press SEND to restore to factory default settings."

I use this phone for work, so I can't afford the down time. I appreciate the work all of you have done on this and I hope that the development continues!

i get the same message sometimes after soft-reset. don't know what cause it. at that point I simply pull out the battery, put back in and power on again. at this point it boots ok. it's annoyance I know, but I don't feel to do another hard reset right now.

Large Title Bar have everything working AS IT SHOULD when you don't have batterry level indicator dispalyed on title bar (for example when you open AllPrograms from Programs(Launcher) Tab), but if you have battery indicator on title bar, like I have on my TyTN II (Kaiser) on default M2D screen (icons are (let to right): Data connection indication ("G" or "E" or "3G" or "H") then "Signal level meter" then Volume icon then Battery level and then Task manager) then the icons when I open Larage Title Bar behave wrong: E on L-T-B opens Signal level details, Signal Level icon on L-T-B opens OpalVolume control, and Volum level icon on LTB opens power. ;)

Is there solution for this ?

for the moment the only fix i found is to set the clock to display in title bar (instead of battery)
unfortunately i'll be away for the next 2 weeks and i will continue playing with apps when i return.

For those who might not understand how to do it, just wanted to post this guide here too.

What you need:

1) HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml file. I have attached one below which you can use, or alternatively you can copy the one from the your /windows folder.

2) If you don't have the version which is already patched then you will need the N2A patched file attached below as well.


Here are the steps:

1) Open HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml using Notepad.

2) You will see many cities listed like this:

<city name="Anchorage, US" loca="NAM|US|AK|ANCHORAGE " land="United States " /> (original)

<city name="Ketchikan, AK" loca="NAM|US|AK|KETCHIKAN" land="United States" /> (copied and edited)

Simply copy one of the cities from your country, or state and then edit the city information. You will notice in the example above i have changed "Anchorage, US" to "Ketchikan, AK" as this is just what will display on the screen. The section marked loca=con"CONTINENT|COUNTRY|STATE|CITY" must be typed in correctly or else you will not get any data.

3) Repeate step 2 for as many cities as you would like to add.

4) Disable touchflo on the today screen

5) Copy Manila2D.exe (if you are not using the version already patched), and your newly edited HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml file to the /windows folder.

6) Enable touchflo on the today screen again.

7) Go to weather and add new city, the new cities should be available to you. I would remove any old cities you had before as well.

Essentially you can edit the xml file and add any city you want...... however you will only get a weather forecast for it if it is on the HTC list in Accuweather.

If you want to check whether your city will dispaly with the weather then use this site:

Everything is working fine but I don't have any text on my screen; the top bar should tell me on which page I am, but it's empty. When I move with my stylus over the buttons at the bottom, no text is displayed below the icon either.

I also can't open the settings... It's all blank.

Your device is going into standby instead of just turning the backlight off. You can use ae buttons plus (not free) and bind the power button to just turn the backlight off. I think there was a fix somewhere that allowed windows media player to play music in the background. That fix would probably apply to audio manager as well.

any idea where to find this fix to make audio manager playing while the display is off? Works fine with FM radio, so should be possible with audio player to.

Okay after a few days on this and hours of searching I get to the HH weather file and it looks like opera wants to open it even when I try to open it with total commander. Yes I tried to open the file with notepad but i get an error after I add my city. All i want to do is add Oly Wa and boy is this tough. A tall cold beer goes out to whomever can help with this.

Someone is modding the cities database and added my city and all I had to do was copy/paste the file. Works like butter. A tall cold one is waiting for you thanx a million. HTC Titan for adults Iphone for kids.

Thanks, that actually helped except I had to use Motion JPEG, not H.263 or MP4 in Media Player. Now if we can only figure this out. Looks like either WMP doesn't like the MP4/H263 filters or doesn't know where to find them.

Chinese Version Audio Manager cannot combind with M2D , M2D Music Page not realtime reflash problem solved.....

install AudioManager first then M2D , like V14 release note said "M2D installed last".

I only one time tried this way , but I forgot I did by this way....

In the video capture program, go to bottom right and select Menu, then go to the options (looks like a wrench). Change capture format from MPEG4 to H.263. If it still doesnt work, change the option to Motion JPEG instead. This worked for me.

Actually, it looks like the Youtube install is causing this problem. If you remove Youtube it no longer happens.

anyway to make manilla work in a 90 DPI phone.. im still getting an ugly space below all programs and below manila.

as said the youtube app still doesnt work.

Was wondering if anyone has found a way to get "threaded" messages built into the interface.. I hate having to scroll up and down between different people.. I would prefer to have a way to scroll up and down to view the convo per person, and scroll left/right for messages within that person.

Is there a way to view a SMS as read without having to open it with the "All Messages" softkey and physically clicking open the threaded-sms from the Text Messages Inbox?

install BatteryStatus alias "HomeSreen PlusPlus" (let this start in the 2ndtodayscreen, manila in 1st)

overclock a little and it will work perfectly

Is this solving the unexpected error thing that keeps reseting my device?
Today i have installed the new update on a fresh install on my device and EVERYTHING works like a sharm and fast as hell. :)

BUT from time to time i keep getting the anoying Unspected error that keeps reseting my device. I tried to pin it down to some sort of audio or picture vieweing but it pops up even when i add programs to the programs page.

So untill i get an answer to what this new install order does i think i use it as it is... just to make phonecalls :)

Since I installed Manilla on my Hermes it takes 3-5 minutes to boot and around 2 minutes to get into windows directory. Overall, Manilla got a bad impact on the performance. I know its beta, but, is there something I can do to decrease the booting time? Got around 22 free ram.

also this installs 400 + files in windows folder. so yes this will significantly slow down viewing the windows directory.

no there was a fix. it worked for some and didnt work for others. if youtube is not working for you. there is no fix as of yet.

Yeah I'm on the same boat. ONLY thing not working for me on my Sprint Mogul is YouTube. Thanks to someone in this thread who posted the FolderView.cab file the other annoyance, the All Programs link, now works. Audio manager is working fine, although I particularly won't be using it to much until I get a larger SDHC card and for the most part everything else is flawless. Lets see how it performs after update 14, hope it doesn't keep exiting sometimes wich is as far as I'm concered the final little thing that I need to get tweaked.

just so any readers know. you have to open the cab and either remove the file the manilla cab installs or rename it. (windows mobile standard only.)

Then you can see English text.

The problem was caused by music files not placed under Storage Card\My Documents\My Music.

It was placed in Storage Card\Music.

Once moved to the right place everything worked fine.

okay i dont know if someone has covered this already but, an easy way to jump from any tab to the home tab is assign one of your buttons to the <Today> option under Settings>Buttons(i chose my start menu to replace)

I know this sounds stupid but it works......

Tired of the opal large title bar opening the wrong item when clicked, then do the following to fix this problem:

1. go to the home icon while in manila
2. click the clock (like if you wanted to fix the time and date)
3. at the bottom click the tab that says MORE
4. enable " Display the clock on the title bar in all programs"
5. click ok button
6. click on the title bar and see the correct picture open the correct item that was clicked

In the video capture program, go to bottom right and select Menu, then go to the options (looks like a wrench). Change capture format from MPEG4 to H.263. If it still doesnt work, change the option to Motion JPEG instead. This worked for me.

Actually, it looks like the Youtube install is causing this problem. If you remove Youtube it no longer happens.You are the man! Yes, both mpg4 and H.263 (3gp) works if I don't have the stupid HTC youtube installed. Anyway, I am not using that program and my Youtube icon points to Core Player which play youtube much better than HTC one.

So great that everything for M2D is working for me (M2D, Album Art, Video Albums). Wishing we could get landscape working for the next milestone. :)

This bugs the hell out of me because everything works fine except for the sounds tab in the Settings tab, nothing happens when taping it.

But when exiting some parts like the musik, watching videos makes this softreset unaspected error and the phone has to be restarted.

Regarding your Shell problems they are due to 2 problems

1 - Manilla2D runs only with WM6.1
2 - To get bottom setting you must rename 2 files (.mui), read this thread and you find which ones to rename from: (0409.mui to xxx.mui) you need to find your country codes, since you have SWE ROm installed

That change should made after Manilla2D instaled in you device

After soft resetting, I am getting the following warning message:

"The device is unable to boot because either you have turned off the device incorrectly or tried to install a from an untrusted source. Press SEND to reset your device or press any other button to cancel."

If I hit any other key other than send, or just wait it out, this white screen goes away and my phone continues to boot regularly. Has anyone else had this happen? And if so, is there a fix?

It seems to me that i have managed to find the cause of my problem.
I uninstalled the Taskmanage from the Manila theme pakage and are now using the default installed one and everything i have tried so far is working without this Shell error thing.... but i keep my fingers crossed a bit longer... :)

First I unsigned the file.
Then I used Platform Builder to change the strings.
And finally I signed it again.

That's all.

If you have problems with not showing up the changes maybe you didn't sign the file correctly. A quick search gave me this post with a (hopefully) working tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1065615&postcount=2

Im one of those pep. that actually USE my kaiser for work, and entertainment while at work. And ive got to say hands down this is the best work ive seen yet. I have 0 issues after using the latest instuctions and download on page 1.

Ive tried a few roms, nothing much has impressed me. A bit frustrating as i work with someone who has an Iphone, and he knows its a paperweight compared to the kaiser, however LAG is always such an issue with the kaiser. This interface is handy, quick and useful. Plus YOUTUBE and Opera! What more could a Hippie need.

AND YOU CAN COPY YOUR "MY DOCUMENTS" FOLDER TO SOME HERE YOU LIKE ON YOUR PC

OR IF YOU WANT YOU CAN USE A PROGRAM LIKE SPB BACKUP OR SPRITE BACKUP - THOSE ARE COMMERCIAL PROGRAMS!!! AND PERFORM A FULL BACKUP TO RETURN TO YOUR ACTUAL CONFIGURATION IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG

DO A HARD RESET

MANILLA2D INSTALLATION:

1 - Install this package http://rapidshare.com/files/145421936/XDA-Team_Manilla2D.cab.html

NOTE - PLEASE DO A SOFT RESET, BEFORE AND AFTER INSTALLATION OF EACH CAB ON THE NEXT STEP

2 - For Youtube - From "Update Package 13" install 11. HTCYouTubeQVGA-Official.cab and 12. Adobe_Flash_3.1_with_Youtube_and_Album_Video_fix.c ab.

3 - For Opera and Google Maps - From "Update Package 13" install 17. OPERA 1957 and 14. GoogleMaps_compressed.CAB

IF SYSTEM REQUIRED A SOFT RESET ON ANY OF THOSE INSTALLATIONS PLEASE DO IT

And everything should work normaly...

After this process you can install your favorite programs!!! Or if you don't like it perform other hard reset and RESTORE your backup!!!
