Some observations....

it SEEMS that although the images have been changed from VGA to QVGA... the actual size of the links remains the same, so pressing anywhere on the screen opens the calendar application. (manila.m9 seems to have the code we need to change, but it's over my head..)

libgls_cm.dll seems to have a big affect on framerate (different versions drop and raise FPS signifigantly)

these couple of issues are what should probabally be fixed first... good luck all!

this is cool guys and shure you will make it work fully I rememberd when the htc home plug and cube first came we also had this slowdown problems but they got solwed after some time and are now just as fast on older devices as newer once so I beleive in you :D

First of all. thx for your work.
my English is not so good, so i hope nobody take offense.

my impressions are that this cab is a backward step in comparison to the last release by Herg, cause this one is based on manila beta, instead of manila oem package.
this last qvga version works on my tytn II as was working the first beta posted in "did you configured..." thread with patched images and .m9 files. so fps 3.89 and 45mb ram.
the vga version that was posted by herg based on package was working; not in qvga, sure, but all the tabs was working perflectly although slow.

by the way i would not be able to made the work you are doing, so thx!

You have used files from my(very old) beta to make that version(search for NSA666 in file Manila\HTC\Home.m9), that version was not complete.;) you must also edit the scripts to make the controls work.

Impressive; i was waiting for someone to finally crack Manila; its a bit buggy but of coarse you know this already; and all the icons on the bottom open up the calender. Can't wait for the 2nd edition; and can't wait till someone cracks the Raphael UI.

we still have a few bugs to work out. soon it will work 100 %.

I found this on my PC from a very old version I was messing with... but if you replace your home.m9 with this one, the bar becomes useable.... it also messes up some of the graphics but it's a start... someone with even a little bit of programing knowledge might be able to work it out in notepad, I just can't right this second.... good luck!

the top text that says Home is running can be removed by going to calander and then clicking back to get back to the home screen (or if you have task manager installled at the top just click it twice)

I have just installed the cab, and got right about 3.68 fps (average). I gotta say, it is slow and quite unresponsive. However, it has always been the same issue with OS(s), Cube(s), TouchFlo, etc, etc, etc. I am fairly excited since this has brought new hope to my BA. Keep up the good Work!!!!

in the old cab it was takin from a shipped diamond rom.

because those files are embeded into a file not able to open is why we went back a step to what we have now. we are working hard to combine the old and new cab so they work together and the result is true touchflo 3d statis. it will take time but hang in there.

I've been looking at the file headers with a hex editor... Most of them are "GPOS" or something similar, which I have no ideas about. All of the sound related files are WAV files, and play fine in WMP when the extension is changed. There are a few other file types, but I haven't done too much digging...

The GPOS files are indeed font files! Thanks for that!

Rename them to *.ttf, and they load as per fonts!

There are some XML files in the mix, but, most of the files are *.qtc files, and can be edited accorgingly!

I tried to find a quicktime player for ppc but apperantly it doesn't exist. I also tried to copy and paste (or just move at all for that matter) my ddraw.dll file and I kept getting "access denied" crap. It's gotta be posted on here somewhere with all the video driver stuff goin on.

I don't think "QTC" refers to Apple Quicktime like on a real PC. They just might have used a container file for their images and just happened to name it "qtc". On another note, they could have adopted Apple's image format (for compression reasons) but I can assure you Apple will not support Pocket PC any time soon.

I am not a good programmer but I do know that Apple likes to attach their name to the header of each file. Unless they changed that, even editing or creating a file through Quicktime Pro will add the "Apple" name to the header. This is just an image container file as far as I can see. Kind of like how .AVI can be straight video or another format like Divx/Xvid... Like I said before, don't expect Quicktime to perform miracles with the Manila .qtv/.qtc files. Besides even if Quicktime did work, there is no mobile version for us pull apart or use.

Way to go! Finally we are heading in the right direction with these files. Sad thing though, it looks like these files will be driven by some ATI driver. Have we found the ATI driver in the Diamond ROM yet? If we have a driver I hope that it does not need to be recompiled for QVGA devices :rolleyes:.

i meant that file has diamond qtv.dll and qtv_mpeg4.dll to view *.qtc files in ppc

in one of the folders from dump i think it is in the rom folder there is .png folders and one of them is labled manila.

i tried to zip and post them but ppc zip sucks.

even if i did have a diamond my wife would divorce me, and cut my d*** off. the other reason i dob't have a diamond is the current diamond doesn't have world phone satuts. it only works in overseas markets.

as far as adding dll's use total commander 2.5 to install, then soft reset device.

That's cause porn's only useful for about 5-7 minutes at a time... (doesn't say much for me I know) but XDA is at least an hour at a time... well the diamond just came out, it may take some time to figure out how to fully utilize those drivers... the best cooks have already signifigantly improved performance by using some of these drivers, it may take time but it will happen.

*.qtc is the animation of combined *.png
*.png are the actual pics

kinda think like .qtc is .xml, and .png is .dll files.

the only difference is .qtc is related to the commands for animation of .png files, and .xml is the commands for .dll fils

The hard part is extracting the *.qtc/*.qtv files. Until you can do that, there is no way to resize things...

there are some dll files missing. i have them but forgot to put them in. i am sure this is why it didn't work yet. i know ddraw.dll is needed but not sure where it goes yet. also libgles_cm.dll, qtv.dll, qtv_mpeg4.dll, and others was left out. i am sorry for leaving them out. it was late for me and i was tired. these dll's will be in next update soon.

First of all, thanks for all your work. You have advanced leaps and bounds from what was "technically not possible due to hardware limitations.... " (*sights* if i had a dime for every time I've read that in this website...)

Anyway, what if instead of porting every single thing from the Manila, you work around it by getting something from another program? For instance, xmoo was asking about scrolling through the tabs. The only program that I have seen that can do this with a Today plugin in a smooth manner is Touch Commander (I know of the existence of UL and TL, but TC is much smoother than those two). There might be something in the code that you might be able to use. it might sound like a stupid idea (cutting corners if you will), but due to the lack of programming ability in my persona, suggesting stupid ideas and beta testing are the only two things I can do to "help" this community (I can also flame noobs, but that is not an ability, that is a hobby :D )

Hi firstly I would like to pat herg on the back for taking up something that literally everyone is looking forward to.

I was thinking along the lines of egzthunder1, because I too have no programming background whatsoever, but playing around with various shells i.e. SPB, UL, I have seen that all the animated transitions that are used in Touch3D are some way or another already present in these softwares (even pcm contacts has an animated transition, when you click on the contacts or settings icon).
These transtions are really smooth on the Polaris and most likely the kaiser too (and these do not even have proper drivers), even icontacts is super smooth...maybe you guys need to talk to these people.

So I think it is encouraging that once Touch3D is converted to QVGA and a transition "engine" is set up, everything should fall into place.
I know each step is going to have its difficulties...but I'm sure it was the same scenarios when the cube was initially attemped.

All the best chaps, I wish I could contribute, although I did read a post on the forum, where someone had pulled all the diamond weather pngs out, down to the wiper, if you need that I can search it out for you.

so basically i am doing it for xda cause xda has done so much for me i wanted to give back. what better way
than create the one program that everyone wants but has not duplicated as of yet. hmmmmmmm - touchflo 3d cube done already, hmmmmmmm - now it is touchflo 3d ui. that is where i come in and i want to see if i can do the unthinkable and creat hergilla....i mean touchflo 3d .

so thanks for your help but if it takes for ever to complete than....i will keep tring till htc admits fault on messing up kaiser/touch/touch dual/touch cruise drivers and release them to us or i die. untill than this is my project, with help of other souls helping of course, i have decided to do and complete.

p.s - i have all png files. everthing for the most part has been placed but there is about the qtc files now to figure out how to use them

Well, I don't know what is needed to be tackled with the openGL ES files in your work with HERGILLA but there are some good resources for developers online. Check out this link (http://www.khronos.org/developers/resources/opengles/) for example, if you are willing to spend time learning in depth about this API.

Where is aonanodad (Windows Video Driver developer (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2254285&postcount=63))? Maybe he can give a hand on this one!?

as far as the qtc problem...it has been fixed.

find only the above *.png files and rename them with *.qtc
leave the other *.png files alone.

Hey Herg,

I am not sure if this would help you on your pursuit with GLES files. But it is worth a trial.

There is a program called gDEBugger ES which is used for developing OpenGL ES applications.
It gives an analytic description of OpenGL ES applications, hopefully it can be used to reveal the structure of your files.

tried that wm6 sdk. wm6 sdk doesn't tell me what to name the files to get it to work.

I know no one seems to care about the drivers but ill try here one last time. I made a new thread and posted in an other with this info. I have been speaking to a company that may be able to get a QC MSM7x00 datasheet. It would probably contain the data ppl are after to make the drivers (new or ported) work.

Maybe next time ill title my thread "what is a PDA and how do i use it?" then maybe ill at least get a reply :D

i am game. if the driver issue happens like you said it could happen and someone with lua and opengles knowledge helps out, then i will continue the quest for hergila again.

i had a full head of hair when i started this project and now look at me.

i can say this.....the file name 3.28 needed dll's

if you use total commander and copy these dll into windows folder and soft reset.....these files improve graphics and audio all around.

now i am using 3.28 shipped rom. it is factory and not cooked. by doing that when i run call of duty 2 and guitar hero mobile3 as well as opera 9.5 build 1126....they respond quicker and easier. now this is my oppinion so take it for what it is worth.
