This is for WM6.1 standard, smarthphones ONLY using sliding panel homescreen.

This is a homescreen plugin for ScottyMoMo's Pocket SportsCenter for smartphone. This plugin will display any teams that you select in PSC. Teams only as of now, may add more support later. PSC allows you to select teams from MLB, NFL, NBA, or NHL. Once you select the teams in PSC, select the option to exit and save teams to panel.

NCAA football Top 25 teams are now available for scores and updates on page 2 of the sports panel. Since my feed only gives top 25 scores, and most teams I follow are in the top 25, I went ahead with a top 25 scoreboard instead of including team support. When activated it will provide the top 25 teams scores and start times on the text loop in clock panel. Scheduling will not work for auto updates. It will have to manually be started and stopped since there are so many different game times.

The first page of panel is for PSC setup and options. The second is NCAA football. The rest of the pages are for your teams( I allowed for up to 20 teams to be added). From the teams' pages, The ActionURL will do a manual update for that team. The softkey URL will open auto update options which are as follows:

1) stop auto updates
2) 5 minute intervals
3) 10 minute intervals
4) 15 minute intervals
5) Custom intervals
6) Setup timezone( for auto updates scheduling)

After selecting an interval it will save it and run an update. Only one team at a time on updates, both manual and auto. You can go to another page to manual update another team while one is on auto, but only 1 auto update can be run at a time.

I added an automatic scheduling for the auto updates also. When you click on auto update, it will check to see if game is already started or if it should wait till game time. If it finds a game time, it will then set itself to wait and start the autoupdates at that time. Once it gets the final score, auto update will stop automatically. Auto updates should not be started until game day and should work when set the day of game, but not if you try to set before that day.

It now has clock panel text loop support for the auto updates. So if auto is running, it will display game info for that team in operator name text area along with team icon. When auto stops, then text reverts back to network id or weather along with icon that was there before auto started.

TO INSTALL THIS:

1) Install either with the cab . Install to Main memory for now, I'll have to make a few adjustments for the storage card(should be ready in a few days).

2) After installation, go to the start menu and find Pocket SportsCenter. Click on this and setup your teams.

3) After selecting your teams, click on Exit and Save Teams to panel.

4) Now, if all has gone correctly, your homescreen will refresh and the new Sports panel will be visible with your teams, ready for use.

For anyone that needs to replace/fix their team icon folders, all league zip files are in post #135.

To Uninstall: Use Remove Programs and uninstall this cab. Then you will need to reboot or refresh your homescreen to remove the Sports panel.

I've been busy with other stuff and I know Org's been busy with his 3.0 release. I can start it again but I think I will put it in a new panel with each page for a particular team. It will probably have manual or auto update but the homescreen refresh will be incompatible with testuiplugin panel. To many problems with it for the gain you get. I'll shoot for something by monday, stay tuned.

Actually , i have been working on it this week and I'm not far off being ready. The new plugin for it will be in its own panel with one page to launch pocketsportscenter and the rest of pages will be one team(the teams you choose in pocketsportscenter) per page and will be able to update a single page(team) at a time. The number of pages in panel is set by the the number of teams you choose, plus the one for pocketsportcenter itself. It will work for any team sport, but I haven't quite figured out how to display other individual sports like golf or nascar, which are included in pocketsportscenter itself. Give me a few days and if I don't get it out by then, you have my permission to shoot me. :D:cool:

edit: yeah same thing with updating scores. The screen attempts to reload, then it just stays unloading untill i restart which then loads the scores.

Are you using a panel based on TestUI Plugin? This doesn't work with TestUI because of the homescreen refresh.

Yeah, I'm going to work on adding the team logos instead of the generics. I just wanted to get this up so I could work out the bugs when I update it with icons. The first page of the panel isn't made to change but feel free to customize as you like.:D I didn't have much time to test the auto update so I might have to tweak it a little too.:cool:

I have followed all your instructions, but it doesn't look nothing like your screen shots. I have to click on the icon and choose a sport for the scores to all show on one full page. Please advise...

Sounds like your viewing the scores from within the Pocket SportsCenter app itself. It only gives the text screen with the scores. After you choose your teams in Pocket SportsCenter, go back to front page of it where you see your teams listed, and second on that list will be the option to "exit and save teams to panel". So after you exited the Pocketsportcenter app, and went back to homescreen, you don't have a sports panel with page 1 being a link to pocketsportscenter app and other pages being your teams? Looking at your pic next to your name, you are on 6.1 smartphone, right?

Please post a screenshot, then we might have some more idea of what the prob you are having is. You did say after all that your app looks "nothing" like the screenshots Showaco posted. I am running the app and having no probs, so maybe we can get a little further with some screenshots, if you can provide them.

Sorry, but tmobile wing is PocketPC, which is different from smartphone. You don't have the sliding panels homescreen that is needed. BUT, if you follow the link in post 1 to the original site and then go up one forum you'll find the pocket pc version that has homescreen plugin also. Hope that helps out:)

OOPS! I never did choose a nba logo.:D They are in the icons folder inside pocketsportscenter folder. Just open that folder and look at the 3 nba icons, choose 1, and name it NBA.png ( no number after it). There's a few other extra icons in there for other sports you could change too also, just rename the non-number(current) icon and then remove the number off icons of choice. Icons named: NFL.png, NBA.png, MLB.png, or NHL.png would be the ones displayed on panel. If you have other icons, just place them here and name them as I said.:)

I'm having problems loading scores as well. How would I know if the panel is using the TestUI plugin? Obviously somewhere in Chome Configurator, but I don't understand what to change?

do you see TestUIPlugin listed in CHome Configurator? If it is enabled, the homescreen refresh want work. You would have to "hide" it in order for this to be able to refresh. If you are using NRG weather, testuiplugin may be enabled for it. I'm not sure what his miniWeather uses as for as panels besides the clock panel.

Yeah, definitely. The current pocketsportscenter only checks for specific conferences so I have to wait for their feeds to be active again so that I can look at how to parse the data for specific college. Maybe in a month or so. Got to keep tabs on my Longhorns. LOL:D

But of course, we partnered on it, so its kinda part mine. So that's what I use, and it doesn't use testui because it always caused me problems on refreshing until i got sick of it and quit using the testui altogether. Check out our weather screenschots and if you like them, the sports works perfect with it. :D

Everything seemed to install ok and I was able to enable the panel and set up my favorite team from the options. But when I try to run either Page 1 (Scoreboard) or Page 2 (ATL Braves), I get this error message: "There is no application associated with "PocketSportsCenter". Run the application first and then open this file inside the application." (If I try to run Page 2 it says the same thing but "Page 2" instead of "PocketSportsCenter.")

No matter what order I try to run things, I can't get past that error screen. Ideas?

Edit: If I run PSC from the Start Menu, I can see the MLB and Braves scoreboard, and I know that works. (I can see the All Star game score from last night.) So it looks like just the panel is messing up. I do not have TestUIPlugin enabled from the Chrome Editor.

Did you install to main memory or storage? If its main, then try removing the PSC Scoreboard cab and reinstall. Also what type of phone are you using? I've seen this issue one other time and am trying to figure out if its a cab prob or something else.

Ok, check this for me, with file explorer, goto Program Files\Pocket SportsCenter\ and see if you have these folders in there: ActionPage, SK2Page and icons. When pressing the center button, it looks for the page scripts in the ActionPage folder, so see if they are there and let me know what you have.

Ok, I got it. Mortscript needs to register itself. In Pocket SportsCenter folder, find mortscipt.exe and click on it. It should say something about registering the file extensions. After that, try to run it again and see if that clears it up.

Not sure what you mean by less crowded :confused:(maybe be more specific), but yes there will be updates like team specific icons and college team support.

Which icon are you trying to change? The main icons on pages 2 and up are controlled by the script. I am updating them to team icons and will release the update tommorrow with all teams icons. If you change the icon and dont have the right location, then the panel could disappear.

The msn foxsports feeds it uses normally give the next game time the day of the game. When it does give the time, then the game time is written to the panel instead of "no data available".:) I think all the MLB starts again today, so check your MLB team for game times now.

I'll check into it, can you check your notifications queue and see if its still showing the autoscoreboard.mscr? If it is, delete the notification and that should stop anymore auto updates. Let me know what you find there. The only reason it might eat battery is the connecting to internet and downloading info is too often, I may need to lengthen the times. Auto should only be used during a game and I could add an auto shutoff for the auto update to make sure it gets cutoff after games end. I was going to release an update tomorrow with the team icons so any feedback before then is appreciated.

Yeah, I checked my auto update turn off, and had the RemoveNotifications screwed up. I'm attaching a zip with the SK2Page folder, just copy this folder into program files\Pocket SportsCenter and overwrite the current sk2page folder(and its contents) that is there. This will fix the auto update off feature. I also changed the autoscoreboard file that is in this folder to not return to the exact page after homescreen refresh. The send keys I used caused the display to turn on if it was off, which in turn eats more battery. I think I'm going to go ahead and add the auto scores to the carrier text line so that during auto updates the score will be easily viewed. If you use the KPWeather with text loop, this addition will be integrated with that. If you don't use it, then it will run solo with score updates. Try this new folder(and files) and see if this helps with battery and turning off auto updates.:cool:

Cool, glad to hear it. You'll also be happy to know that I've finished updating my scripts and I am testing now for the new version. I've add the fixes, added a text loop to the operator name with the score and icon of team(and its kpweather friendly), automatic auto update off after final score is posted, and have updated icons with all teams for MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL. :D whew, If all works good, I'll post the new cab tomorrow. Then its time to start adding college football team specific support. If anyone has any bugs or requests, now is the time to post.:cool:

The way Pocket SportsCenter app is setup, you go back into it like you were going to setup the team again, but this time it will say "team disabled" when you choose it. In my opinion, this is kind of lame way, :rolleyes: but I didn't write the main app, just the plugin. Once I get the plugin going right, I was going to look at cleaning up the options in the main app a little.:)

OK, I have updated the first post with a new cab and setup exe(for ActiveSync installation). Just choose one and install , AFTER removing previous versions(with Remove Programs) since this cab combines the two into one. Future versions will remove themselves with new installation.

This one adds team icons for NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA. It adds new auto update options, such as user set time intervals and auto scheduling for auto updates. It now will load the panel itself on first run of Pocket SportsCenter form start menu, so no need for setting up with chome configurator except for placement. Also added text loop on clock panel for the auto updating team that will only come on during auto update period. The setup exe is something new for me, so if you use it, let me know how the installation goes.

I expect bugs since I've added quite a bit, so post them and I'll get a fix out ASAP.

I uninstall the momo and this one and then installed this one and got nothing. I installed both and still the same. What am I missing as I liked the screen shots. I tried only the cab.

Sorry, but you are S.O.L. around here. This is a SMARTPHONE ONLY, WINDOWS MOBILE STANDARD 6.1 ONLY plugin, hence why its posted in a smartphone forum. While many programs are compatible with pro and standard, this plugin is for the 6.1 sliding panels, which wm pro does not have. So you will have to stay with scottymomo's original ppc version.

Ok, added more support for the NFL feed after watching game tonight and seeing what the feed had available. The NFL updates now show, teams, scores, quarter, time left in quarter, who has the ball, and if they are in the redzone. Cab and exe.zip have been updated, and I'm working on getting the golf and nascar displayed correctly. Maybe a few days.:rolleyes:

It actually works from either, I keep mine installed on storage.
He could also try registering the mort extentions again. Sometimes mortscript doesn't register correctly on my cab installs. To do this, just go into the sportscenter folder and click on MortScript.exe

Hi, I had installed this plugin, which I liked but I decided I wouldn't keep it. I uninstalled the plugin and up in the top left hand corner of the clock screen where there used to be a little clock icon, there's now a red circle X icon. While I had installed the plugin it gave me the team logo icon of the team I had in that upper left hand spot and since the uninstall it's now that X logo. I'm not sure how to get it back to having that little clock icon that it had originally. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Has anyone had the problem of this program sucking down resources? My phone seemed to always be slow and the battery died much more quickly after I installed it. After uninstallation, everything returned to normal. I also have mini-weather running so I don't know if that could have caused the problem. I would really like to get this working (especially since football season is starting). Thanks for any help.

Thanks for any help.The sports apps and several weather apps, just put to muck of a battery drain on your device, I got rid of them all and now things are back to normal also. I replaced the sports app and weather apps with rss feeds, which gives me better info and no more battery drain.............!:D

It works with mini weather, sort of... The problem occurs every time the scores update; all the panels just disappears. I needed to do a hs reset every time. So I tried uninstalling mini weather, but that somehow removes psc as well. At least the psc panel is gone. But all the folders and files are still on my phone. So I had to install mini weather again and psc appeared again. I then removed psc, then removed mini weather, then reinstalled psc.... phew.... And that's when I got that X at the top corner. So I did master clear to clean out my registry coz windows keeps trying to run the mini weather update even after the app was removed and I got that bright red annoying X at the top. So now I'm going to try installing your feather weather and psc :D.

This app is awesome.. good job!!! I've been looking for something like this for a while now. Yay.. I get to see my Yankees stink up the field while I am commuting home from work :p
I really like how the auto-update feature turns itself off when the game is done.

Minor issue - when the app was first installed an ran, I had icons for all three teams I was keeping track of - Yankees and the teams they are trying to catch - Red Sox and Tampa Bay. Now all I see is the icon for Tampa Bay on all three pages of the app.
What can I do to rectify this???

As for not working with weather programs, I am running mini weather and the sports app has kittens if I have the five day forecast active. It is the same CTestUIPlugin that was mentioned in this post before. While I miss having the five day forecast, I rather have my sports scores.

Thanks that did the trick. Chome config confuses me :confused:. I edited the registry instead. And as a plus my phone shuts off now when I want it to. :D I guess that testui plugin does give problems.

Thats strange, look in your program files/pocketsportscenter/mlb folder and see if that icon is wrong. I'll post up the complete icons folder for anyone that needs it here in a couple hrs when I get home. I don't remember its exact name, but it should be something similiar to SFG.png

I've been working on it some today, only thing is:(, the feed I'm using only gives score for games that have a top 25 team playing in them. So I haven't decided the best way to display info for 25 games, any ideas? I'll probably release the update either tomorrow or the next day.:rolleyes:

go to one of the Programs Files folders, either featherweather or pocketsportscenter, and find mortscript.exe. Click on it, and it will say the extentions have been registered, try to run options of both again.

this is a plugin i made for the app created by scottymomo. Scottymomo's original cab is included in this cab, so all you need is this cab alone to install both the app and the plugin for 6.1 sliding panels.:)

did you change them? if not, run pocket sportscenter app from first page of sports panel, setup your teams, and then click to "exit and save teams to panel"

college football support is limited to top 25 teams for the plugin, you get all 25 games displayed in loop. The original app doesn't allow for indiviual college teams as of now, so thats why the plugin doesn't have them.

Its possible, but unfortunately, I haven't set it up that way. If theres enough people intereseted in that, I could add it:rolleyes:. But the ncaa hasn't been to well received since teams can't be selected individually.

I'd like to put my vote in for this as well... :) Could you also maybe make it so we can apply the update (if you decide to do it) to the older version of psc. I don't follow college and I prefer the old icon used in the hs (the stadium instead of the PSC with balls :D).

this is fully compatible with wm 6.1. If you have issues with miniweather, you should post nrg about why his app is not fully compatible and see how to correct it. He has problems with one of his layouts being 6.1 compatible.

Well I went ahead and tried it anyway and it installed ok. The problem that I experienced is that when I click to start the scoreboard the whole home screen goes blank and only shows the background with the top bar (battery level ect) and bottom start bar.

yep, thats the problem with nrg miniweather. Its not this plugin, because if you try to change your homescreen settings(like backgrounds) you will get same result. You'll have to post in miniweather thread about how to correct it.

OR, you can follow NRG's advice on homescreen changes(while testui is active) and perform a SOFT RESET everytime score updates. lmao

So after visiting the miniweather thread I see that NRGZ28 is not accepting changes to his program. Based on his responses I don't want to ask again. So my question would be would it be hard to write the sports info to a html or xml file?

This way we could have custom sports info on one page that could be read by a web browser or something. I do like miniweather and do not want to remove it.

Is this possible? Or should I just forget trying to get this to work.

just open the pocket sportscenter app, click on your team or sport you've saved, and it will give you the updates in a text screen. You can also use the auto update on the clock panel I believe, just can't update the sports panel pages themselves. I find it hard to believe that nrg didn't try to help you, he's always so helpful for everyone, lol.:rolleyes:
