Yes. I know... it's been asked a few times before, and there are countless articles relating to the many different Upgrade ROMS and Radio combinations - BUT, we'd like to know - which of the options is THE BEST of same - to run on our priceless VX6800 Mogul/Titans - on the Verizon Wireless network... and allows the unlocking and operation of the on-board GPS...?!?

Some require a number of steps to upgrade the 1.30.60 Radio and 2.09.605.8ase ROM - from the original out-of-the-box device, others offer a recipe of other required steps this side of wearing tin foil on one's head to keep out the voices (as a parent of teenagers, I've simply learned to not listen to them, and a select amount we're warned to stay away from.

For the NOOB and experienced PPCGeek member alike, would fellow readers please submit their favorite versions of the above...!?

Thank you for your kind contribution!

I have the XV6800 and use Rom DCD 3.1.2 and Radio 3.39 and of course Olipro 2.40. Follow the Wiki guide on here. Updating to Radio 3.39 made a big difference on signal. Also remember to get the Verizon Carrier Cab.

Thanks. Quick question... but, with the Build OS program via PPCGeeks, we can select a carrier (of which Verizon is an option). What are we to do with the Carrier cab that you mentioned above...? Sorry, but - if I'm thinking it - I'm SURE some other person feeling like a dweeb about now certainly is...!

If you're going to flash a custom rom from dcd, then you don't use the buildos from ppcgeeks.

Gotcha. Thought that... but, wasn't sure. So far - I'm leaning toward the BuildOS method of customizing - as you can pick and chose just what features and programs you wish to have included in your device. At present, No2Chem has some of the most advanced and robust versions of ROMs to select from... what with the latest being 5068 - and 5069 well into becoming the newest addition (as it's still in development).

One question about the afore mentioned ROM versions... I know that some (if not most) offer a few options of MMS and SMS programs. If we DON'T load them... is there a "basic" option already on the device and working? I know that's of special interest to a good many users.

Thanks - in advance - for your collective replies.
